After swinging the door open Robert saw Dante standing in the room. "Relax Robert, it's just me. I saw the door was open and I came in to check the place out. No one is in here."
Robert let out a sigh of relief. Holly walked into the room and looked to see if anything was out of place. She saw a picture of her and Robert laying on the floor, broken. She went over and picked it up. Robert noticed what she had in her hands. "Damn!" Robert got down next to Holly.
Holly looked at the picture, them smiling shortly after she came back from the grave. There was no doubt in her mind that Diane had been in here.
Dante walked over to them and knelt down. "Hey we are going to catch her." Dante took the frame from her. "I'm not giving up until I do. Robert is a good friend and you both are the parents of my children's uncle. She isn't getting away with this."
Holly looked up at Dante, fighting back tears. "Thank you." She said softly.
"In the mean time, do you think you two have somewhere else you can stay? Somewhere safer?" Dante asked as he stood back up.
Laura was at the door with Kevin. "They can stay with me. Spencer just moved out on his own to spend more time with his girlfriend and Esme and Ace have moved out too. We would love to have you."
"Yes we would." Kevin backed Laura up, the two genuinely wanted to help their friends.
Holly was touched by the gesture. "I really appreciate that and I can't speak for Robert but I'm not going anywhere. I refuse to let that woman have any more control over my life." Holly firmly stated while she stood up with Robert, she looked at him, waiting to hear his thoughts.
Robert couldn't help but smile, despite everything going on he was proud of the fact that Holly wasn't letting Diane win, he was just so proud of her. He knew how she was, she was a fighter and she had a point. They needed to show Diane they weren't going anywhere. "I agree with Holly. She's done enough to us."
Laura nodded, going over to give Holly a hug. "The offer is on the table. I want you two to be safe, I'm sorry you are both having to go through this."
Holly hugged Laura back tightly. "I really do appreciate it."
"We came over as soon as we heard the power was out. I had this feeling something was going on. Did you check on Tiff, Annie and Seana?"Laura asked Robert and Holly.
"Yes, they are good. Seana slept through it all." Robert was still so relieved they were okay even more so now. This made him even more determined to get this town back to the decent place it was before. "I need to have a talk with you Laura, not now but maybe tomorrow?" He suggested.
"Of course, I always have time for both of you. Do you need anything?" Laura asked them, she wanted to go see Tiff was okay for herself before the two of them left.
"No I don't think we do. Thank you for checking on us." Holly told her then gave Kevin a hug.
Robert hugged Laura and Laura whispered in his ear. "Soon enough this won't be a worry."
Robert nodded as he let her go. The two of them left, followed by Dante.
"You really okay?" Robert asked Holly as he took a seat on the couch.
Holly took the picture out of the frame and threw the frame away. "I will be, I know the best commissioner this town has ever had or will ever is going to help keep me safe." She grinned at him as she sat the picture down.
"I would do anything to keep you safe, anything. Nothing matters more than you and our family." Robert pulled her close and kissed her head.
"I am safe, I am home. We are home. Let her try to tear this apart, she will fail...again." Holly grinned at Robert.
Robert held her close, feeling her heart beat with his. "Every time." He gave her a smile before a kiss. He knew they were going to be okay and was relieved she did too. The two just sat holding each other until they heard a knock on the door.
"Let me get it." Holly said, determined to not let Diane run her life.
