It's July 1924 and Mr Bates needs a moment to himself, to read the paper and soak up the latest news from the Paris Olympics. An utterly self-indulgent one-shot inspired by all that glitters, set somewhere vaguely around episode 3 or 4 of series 5.

Cora had been feeling unwell for weeks leading up to their trip to France. Back home, she had Doctor Clarkson run some tests and the results are not at all what she had hoped. How will she cope with this new reality, and will she be able to help Robert and their daughters to come to terms with it? This is a *slightly* altered ending to A New Era

"These Cherished Chapters" is a fic where each chapter is a standalone glimpse into Charles and Elsie's life - whether it be domestic fluff, romance, smut, or anything else in between. Or, in other words, a place for me to display every small bit of Chelsie goodness I write that has nowhere else to go. Rated-M because some chapters do venture into the territory of adult content.

In another sleepless night she makes up her mind about what to do, while Mr. Carson ponders over his feelings. Will she open up to him? Has he got feelings for her? And what about the photo?

Matthew experiences the aftershocks of the war and how traumatic it truly was for him. Mary does her best to comfort and get him through it all. Both Tom and Sybil wished for the dinner to be perfect for the other. Both were sorely disappointed, but in the end, their plans failing led to a moment neither would forget.

When widower and father Charles Carson comes to Downton Abbey, he develops a relationship with the family he serves. Over time, he is quite taken with a certain housekeeper. Also, the young Earl and his American wife are beginning to expand their family. This is an 1880s AU set a few years earlier than the canon backstory with Chelsie and Cobert at the forefront.

This story will be a development of Charles and Elsie wedding day. We only saw the glimpse of it in the series, so I will delve a little deeper. One chapter will be devoted to Charles and second one to Elsie.
