Prologue
As the Republic's task force assembled by newly elected Chancellor Palpatine arrived in Orbit of Naboo, the policing force found the orbit of Naboo filled with trade federation battle ships. The Admiral of the Republic fleet was about to order his bridge comms officer to hail the flagship of the enemy when he fell into a state of shock as the Federation did the unthinkable. The twenty three strong battle fleet of federation lucrehulk battleships started to bombard Naboo starting with the geographic region that Theed was located. The Admiral fuming with rage turned to his comms officer and ordered, "Send a recording of this atrocity to the senate and give the all clear to fleet to begin our battle plans." The Comms officer responded with an affirmative and carried out the task. As the news reached the senate, the battle started and ships exchanged fire in a bailey of death. Federation and Republic ships swarmed each other all the while the Federation still focused part of their fleet on bombarding Naboo. The Admiral had his cruisers form a spear head like formation with the heavy cruisers equipped with light turbo lasers up close to the Federation battleships and the lighter cruisers pulling toward the rear and were equipped with more long range weapons systems. The destroyer complements were put into more mobile small groups sent to attach week points in the Federation's own formation and to allow for the cruisers to maintain focusing power on damaged vessels by cutting off escapes. The Federation's ships though had strong energy shields capable of handling massive amounts of focused power and so the enemy having more interest in bombarding Naboo chose to instead focus on spreading out to maximize total damage to Naboo. After only a few minutes of the battle already Naboo had grow slight tanner as the forests and grass lands were burnt to a crisp and spread by cannon fire and sparked wild fires. The Admiral of the task force after a few hours of the brutal naval engagement was forced to order a retreat. Of the dozens of cruisers and destroyers there was a fraction left and so they headed back for the republic cursing the Naboo for sparking the Federations war with the Republic and of the costs of lives that war will bring. On Coruscant the news threw a wrench into Palpatines plans as he was forced to declare war on the Trade Federation ten years too early and worse the Federation had roped the Kuati Corporation into remaining on their side of the conflict. Which denies the republic Kuats substantial ship production capabilities which would have played a crucial role in remilitarizing the Republic's limited fleet power. The republic quickly found itself under assault across the galaxy by hordes of droid armies and the Federation's seemingly endless fleets.
