On the far reaches of the everfrost mountains, rested the inhabitants of the small village, Helmfire Breach. The once prospering village that used to flow with the hustle and bustle of vendors bartering off their goods, children playing under and around the adults legs, the smithy ringing with sounds of metal clashing, and the taverns roaring with cheers, ruckus laughter and the occasional brawl.

Now, it was so quiet that you could hear the trickle of water under the frozen lake. It was by no means normal for the village, as this phenomenon had never happened for as long as the village existed on these lands.

It was the middle of winter, the snow falling down in an endless torrent as the wind whipped it around the structures lining the streets. It threatened to tear down structures not maintained from the desolation of the population.

If you had to brave a walk in the snow storm amongst the houses lining the cobblestone streets, you would not see a soul about, and most windows were dark with the lack of inhabitants of the once well populated village. Most of the houses had seen better days, the clay covered stone walls were cracked in a few places, the thatched roofs with holes in them.

Only a few of the dwellers were left, and amongst the few, was a couple in a house on the outskirts of the village and smoke was seen coming from the chimney. Inside was quiet, the fire casting a soft glow over the two figures huddled together on a makeshift bed in front of the hearth.

"Kacchan?" A soft voice croaked.

"Shhh… Sleep Deku, you need your rest." The blonde pulled the blankets tighter around them to keep in the warmth.

"But…" Dull green eyes were barely able to open.

"No but's you idiot, go to sleep." He rubbed his lover's arms in the attempt to warm him more.

A soft giggle was heard from the viridian haired man before the coughing started, a weak hand coming up to cover his mouth with a handkerchief.

Kacchan pulled him up to help him clear his airway. Once he had finished coughing, the handkerchief was pulled away, covered in blood.

"Kacchan…" His voice was raspy as he spoke. "Y…you need to-to leave" He struggled to breathe with pain coursing through his system."-before the curse p-puts the plague on you as well."

The larger man pulled the blood soaked handkerchief out of the other's hand, throwing it into the fire of the hearth before pulling his lover to lay on his chest and rubbing his back in soothing circles. "I'm not going anywhere Deku. Now stop talking shit before I stuff a sock in your mouth."

Deku sighed as he settled his cheek against Kacchans chest. "You're impossible." He mumbled.

He leaned his head forward and kissed the viridian curls. "You still love me anyway."

A smile pulled at the smaller man's lips as he whispered. "That I do Kacchan."

"Love you too nerd." He said before kissing curls once again.

The night continued on with the passage of time, taking away the last embers of more than just the fire along with it. The storm outside quelling as though it knew that there was a moment of bereavement to be held by an aching heart.

As the last breath was taken, the blonde did not cry, he waited patiently with his cold lover resting his embrace. For he knew what the other did not. The curse had taken him with the plague as well, and he knew it was only a matter of time when he would join his love. He never told the other this, not wanting to worry him and make his suffering that much worse.

Their lives together had been woven into a beautiful tale, only to end at the hands of a vengeful witch, and as the cold reached from his limbs to slowly creep into his inner hearth, he lay there quietly, allowing his memories of a better time to float through his mind.

The day he first met Deku and how they had fought over a simple map. The first adventure they went on where Deku saved him from wyvern. The first time they sat together for a drink, retelling tales of past. The first time he felt fear when he thought he had lost the other to poison. The first time he told Deku that he loved him while tears fell from his eyes. The first time the emerald eyed man kissed him. The first time they laid together. The day he got down on one knee. The day he watched his lover stutter over his vows. Their first home they built together.

The last thought on his mind as his last breath was stolen from him was that he hoped he could keep those memories. And so the adventures of Katsuki and Izuku came to an end. Tales would for centuries to come, far into the future until a small boy of 4 summers falls into a trap set by another.

"Aaaaaaaaah!" The small boy with viridian curls shrieked as he dangled from a net.

Another small boy jumped out of the bushes, his head of hair a spikey blond. "Ah ha!" He screamed. "I knew I would catch something!"

"Please don't eat me!" The other screamed in return, tears falling fast from his eyes.

The sound of the terrified boy caught the blonde's eyes. "Hah! What the! You ain't no beast!"

"N-no… I am-am human…" He sniffed in fear before he suddenly felt himself plummet to the ground. "Aaaaaah!" He landed with a soft thud, the leaves that hid the trap softening his fall.

"Why did you step in my trap if you aint a beast then!?" He stomped over to the boy laying tangled in his net only to stop and stare at shimmering emerald eyes. "Uh…"

"I'm sorry for stepping in your trap, I didn't see it." Shivering in fear as sharp carmine eyes gazed at him. "I can help you fix it…"

The blond suddenly leaned down and started removing the net from the tangled mess of limbs. "It's fine, I have others."

After sitting up from being freed of the netting, he felt some of the tension leave him at the actions and words of the other kid. "I'm still sorry, is there any way I can repay you…?"

"Katsuki." He huffed with his fists on his hips. "What's your name?"

The smaller boy blinked at the sudden introduction. "Um, Izuku."

"Okay Deku, you can become my magician when I go on adventures as repayment." With that, he turned around and marched off, forgetting the net.

Izuku scrambled to get up, racing after the blond. "Wait Kacchan!"

And that is how the new adventures began, with two young boys who grew up and took on the lands in search of excitement, adventure, glory and gold. Never leaving each other' side.
