Hello everyone I'm back once again to bring you another chapter of my story; sorry for the long pause I was on vacation. But now I'm back and ready to get back to work; now with nothing else to say lets begin.
Sabaku no Kitsune: Chapter 23
Amegakure: With Jiraya
"- So, if you could possible help us out in case something happens that would be great" Jiraya said with a smile; Nagato and Konan both looked at him with looks of anger and disappointment. Jiraya seeing both of their looks started sweating.
Over the past 9 months Jiraya has been looking around the elemental nations for allies; with Danzo's popularity and influence rising in Konoha and with Orochimaru still running loose he needed allies. And so far, it's been going pretty bad.
"So let me get this straight" Nagato said looking at him with anger in his rinnegan eyes "Konoha is having trouble and you come to us for help; the apprentices you left behind and haven't checked on in nearly 25 years" he said. "Did you really think that we would help you" Nagato said his anger rising.
"Well… kinda yeah" Jiraya said with a shrug; Jiraya jumped back just in time as 6 paper shuriken stuck in the ground where he was just standing.
"You were a fool to come here sensei" Konan said her amber eyes glaring at her former sensei "you weren't here when Yahiko died or when Danzo and Hanzo teamed up to kill us" he said. Konan was then hit by a wave of killing intent from Jiraya.
"Danzo did what" Jiraya shouted; both Konan and Nagato seeing Jiraya enraged "that one eyed mother fucker killed one of my students" Jiraya shouted. Jiraya took a breath and clenched his fists and calmed down "I did not know about that; but if I did, I would've come back to help" he said. "I left you 3 so you can find your own paths and rebuild your country" Jiraya said "but it seems like I was wrong; just another failure in my ever-expanding list, I'm sorry" he said.
Nagato hearing this let out a sigh "I apologize as well" Nagato said.
"Look I understand if your pissed; but I… I just want to right my wrongs and ensure nothing else happens" Jiraya said; suddenly there was a puff of smoke and a toad appeared.
"Lord Jiraya it's an emergency" the toad said "Naruto Uzumaki has been attacked in Spring country; and is injured pretty bad" it said.
"What" Jiraya shouted in shock "take me to him" Jiraya said.
"Wait did it just say Uzumaki" Nagato said; Jiraya looked at Nagato wide eyed as his toad just revealed secret information.
"I can explain" Jiraya said.
Spring country Hospital
Naruto was lying down on a bed with bandages and with multiple I.V's filled with blood and fluids pumping into him; Naruto looked to his side and saw Kurumi lying in another bed. Kurumi was unconscious and looked worse than him; she looked pale and was taking shallow breaths.
Both Obito and Sango were both sitting by Kurumi on either side holding her hand "oh baby girl" Obito whimpered out as he looked down at his comatose daughter. Karin seeing this went up and put her hand on his shoulder to comfort him.
"Damn it" Naruto said as he tried to sit up; however, he fell back down when he felt pain from his lower back where he was cut "gah, damn nerves" Naruto whined.
"Naruto stay down" Temari said with bandages on her arms and face "you shouldn't try to exert yourself; you took a lot of damage and lost a lot of blood" she said and Naruto nodded.
"I'm sorry; it just sucks" Naruto said "I thought we were safe here; I let my guard down" Naruto said clenching his fists. "Fuck" Naruto shouted getting everyone's attention "I let those 2 psychos find us; now look at what happened" he said.
"It's not your fault Naruto" Temari said grabbing his hand.
"She's right Naruto" Obito said gaining his attention "if anything we can chalk up Itachi coming after is as just bad luck on top of your bad luck" he said and Naruto huffed.
"Still; I should've been more alert" Naruto said "I won't make that mistake again; I won't let anything put Temari in danger like this again" he said. Temari blushed at this and leaned in giving Naruto a kiss on the cheek.
"I know you won't" Temari said with a smile; suddenly in the middle of the room there was a loud 'poof' of smoke. Temari grabbed her fan, Karin grabbed Kurumi's sword and Obito got into his taijutsu stance.
However, when the smoke cleared Jiraya stood there with a red-haired man and a blue haired woman with multiple piercings "Kid" Jiraya shouted as he ran over. Jiraya enveloped Naruto into a hug "I came as soon as I could; goddamnit don't scare me like- "he began until Temari punched him in the face.
"He's injured you jackass" Temari shouted as Jiraya fell to the floor and Naruto fell back down to the bed gritting his teeth.
"Oh man… that hurt really bad" Naruto whined as tears of pain almost began to swell up.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" Jiraya said to Naruto then to Temari "are you ok" he asked.
"No, I'm not" Naruto said "me and Temari got attacked by that psycho girl and her aunt, Obito and Kurumi got attacked by Itachi, and to top it all off more of those anbu assholes were here but those 2 crazy women killed them" he said.
"Itachi was here" Jiraya said wide eyed.
"Yeah" Obito said gaining his attention "he attacked both me and Kurumi when we were going to get Naruto and Temari here" he said. "Wait, hold up; who the fuck are these people" Obito said pointing at Nagato and Konan.
"We are the leaders of Amegakure and former apprentices of Jiraya" Nagato said "I'm Nagato Uzumaki and this is my friend Konan" he said making both Naruto and Karin look at him.
"Wait Uzumaki" Naruto said "are you serious" he said.
"We're Uzumaki too" Karin said astonished looking at the pale man with purple ringed eyes.
"I know; Jiraya told me about the both of you" Nagato said as he walked over to both Naruto and Karin "he explained about your plight Naruto; and I must say Konoha is looking a lot worse in my eyes" he said.
"Wait, what does that mean" Naruto asked.
"Lord Jiraya asked us to assist him in case of any future happening in Konoha" Konan said "however when we were informed of you and what Konoha tried to do to you we decided to come and verify a few things" she said as she sat at the edge of Naruto's bed.
"Wait is this why you've been gone for so long pervy sage" Naruto asked and Jiraya nodded.
"Yeah, I've been traveling around in order to find allies against Danzo and Orochimaru" Jiraya said "and so far, it hasn't been good" he said.
"How bad could it be" Sango asked speaking up.
"Well Kumo didn't let me enter, Iwa tried to kill me, Kusa is a no go, Taki in undecided, Iron said 'fuck off' and Yuga has nobody willing to help" Jiraya said "so if anything happens, we're on our own" he said.
"Damn; really" Naruto whined.
Temari hearing this spoke up "well Suna has Kiri and Spring as allies but we are not on speaking terms with Konoha; and if we get involved, we'll be open to attack from Iwa" she said rubbing her chin "and that's not counting Orochimaru and whatever he has planning" Temari said.
"But never mind that for now" Jiraya said "what I'm wondering is how Naruto got so messed up" he said and Naruto winced.
"I was just following your instructions; not using any of my techniques" Naruto said "no rasengan, no shadow clones; I was only using the techniques I learned in Suna and from you" he said. Jiraya slapped his forehead.
"I said 'don't use them unless it's an emergency'" Jiraya shouted and Naruto got a tic mark.
"Well, your definition of emergency is different from mine" Naruto shouted "mine is like if I run into Orochimaru or if Gaara goes crazy again; not some little girl whose life I ruined" he shouted.
"Wait you did what" Nagato said looking at Naruto.
Meanwhile; In Kiri: With Sakura and Kakashi
Sakura and Kakashi were both in a fast-paced taijutsu spar; Sakura was not using her super strength as she did not want to seriously hurt Kakashi. Sakura using her boxing style threw a series of jabs at Kakashi who was backing up and weaving his head avoiding her punches; Sakura changed one of her strikes into an upper cut and narrowly grazed Kakashi's chin.
Kakashi avoided the punch and countered by throwing a punch himself; Kakashi punched Sakura in the face, however Sakura rolled with the punch and grabbed his arm. Sakura changed her fighting style and performed a judo throw slamming Kakashi into the ground; Sakura raised up her foot and tried to stomp down on his head.
Kakashi seeing this grabbed her foot and twisted himself and wrapped his legs around Sakura's and brought her down to the ground. Kakashi put her into a leg lock putting pressure on her knee and joint "tap out" Kakashi said.
Sakura fought for several seconds until she tapped; Kakashi feeling it let go and rolled away before getting back up "damn it" Sakura said getting back up "I should've broken out" she said and Kakashi eye smiled.
"Well, it's just another thing we need to practice on" Kakashi said "tomorrow we will work on breaking out of holds" he said.
"Thanks for training with me for the month Kakashi sensei" Sakura said fixing her hair "I still got 3 weeks and a lot of ground to cover" she said and Kakashi nodded.
"You never stop learning Sakura" Kakashi said as he cracked his neck "ok now then; lets try some genjutsu" Kakashi said and Sakura nodded.
"Let's begin" Sakura said with a smile.
With Lee and Hinata
"Keep up Hinata; you can do it" Lee said to Hinata while running; both Lee and Hinata agreed to train with each other for the month before the exam. Since they are both taijutsu specialist they can both act as training partners; and at the same time Lee can work on Hinata's physicality while Hinata.
"I'm- I'm trying" Hinata panted as she ran just behind 'this is torture' Hinata thought as she saw Lee stop a few yards ahead.
"Come on Hinata, only a few more feet" Lee shouted "tap into your inner youth" he said and Hinata nodded.
"Inner youth, inner youth, inner youth" Hinata said as she pushed herself; Hinata passed the finish line and began to breath heavily 'finally over' Hinata thought.
"Good job finishing the warm up Hinata" Lee said "let's take a break before we get to sparring" he said and Hinata nodded as she walked over to her bag and grabbed a water bottle.
"Lee, I wouldn't call 6 hours of vigorous exercise a warm up" Hinata said and Lee chuckled.
"It's funny, Neji used to say he same thing" Lee said; Lee however immediately regretted it as he saw Hinata get a little depressed "Hinata, I apologize; I didn't mean to- "Lee began until Hinata waved her hands.
"Oh, there's no need to apologize Lee" Hinata said hurriedly "it's just…" Hinata began with a pause. "It's just, when I thought me and Neji were finally rebuilding our relationship it all fell apart" Hinata said looking down "but when Naruto returned after the retrieval mission after killing Sasuke, Neji returned back to his old ways" Hinata said. "Now things are even worse between us; because I defended Naruto and I…" Hinata began as she blushed and began to poke her fingers.
"You loved Naruto" Lee said and Hinata went wide eyed and panicked.
"How did you know" Hinata said panicking.
"Everyone knew" Lee said making Hinata embarrassed "I knew, your team knew, nearly most of our close associates knew" he said. "I'm even sure Naruto knew to a certain extent" Lee said making Hinata cover her face.
"No…" Hinata whined and Lee chuckled.
"Well Hinata" Lee said putting his hand on her shoulder "I'm sure Naruto is looking down on you right now; and I'm sure he's going to be rooting for you during the finals" Lee said with his good guy smile.
Hinata smiled at this "thank you Lee; that was very sweet" Hinata said as she stood back up "shall we get back to training" she said and Lee nodded.
"Yes, lets begin" Lee said as he hopped back and got into his taijutsu stance "you ready" he asked; Hinata activated her byakugan and got into her taijutsu stance as well.
"I am" Hinata said with determination in her voice.
Spring country; 2 days later
Kurumi groaned as she opened her eyes and saw the bright lights on the ceiling; she groaned as it felt like her body weighed a ton and she felt cold.
"Kurumi" came a familiar voice; Kurumi looked to her side and saw her mom, dad, Temari, Karin and Naruto lying in a bed next to her "Kurumi, honey, you're awake" Sango said happily as she gave her a kiss on the fore head.
"How… long…" Kurumi said her voice hoarse from not being used.
"Were you out" Obito said and Kurumi nodded "2 days; you were awake her and there but I don't think you'll remember that" she said.
"Am I ok… am I going to recover" Kurumi asked; just then the door to the room opened and Koyuki and her doctor walked in holding a clip board.
"Kurumi; oh thank goodness your awake" Koyuki said as she ran over and grabbed her hand "I am so sorry for this happening; I had no idea how these… terrorists… got into the country" Koyuki said and Kurumi nodded.
"Wait, terrorists" Kurumi said confused "we were only attacked by one guy" she said.
"Actually Kurumi" Temari said speaking up "me and Naruto were both attacked while you and your dad were attacked" she said making Kurumi's eyes widen.
"But hey, you don't have to worry about that" Naruto said gaining everyone's attention "because those 2 psycho bitches are dead; man, I feel good, like a looming threat is off my shoulders" Naruto said with a smile.
"Naruto!" Temari shouted making Naruto jump "that is no way to speak of the dead; pray to kami tonight for forgiveness" she said and Naruto nodded vigorously.
"Yes mam" Naruto said slightly scared now of his girlfriend; Obito seeing this chuckled at Naruto cowering from Temari.
"Heh, pussy" Obito said before getting smacked on the back of the head by Sango "ow, babe" Obito whined to a scowling Sango making Kurumi chuckle.
Kurumi then felt a pain in her shoulder and looked at it "my shoulder is pretty messed up huh" Kurumi said looking at the bloody bandage "I guess no finals for me" Kurumi said slightly saddened.
"Actually no" Karin said making Kurumi look at her; Karin sighed and groaned "lady Koyuki's doctor said I can help speed up your recovery" she said and the doctor stepped forward.
"Lady Karin told me about her special healing ability" the doctor said "I believe with 1 bite treatment every 2 days you should be well enough to participate in the finals" he said and Kurumi looked at Karin surprised.
"Really Karin; you'd do that for me" Kurumi said and Karin nodded.
"I hate getting bit for my chakra" Karin said "but if it's to help out a friend… then I'll do it" Karin said blushing and looking away.
"Thank you Karin" Kurumi said with a weak smile "I really appreciate it" she said and Karin smiled as well.
Suddenly in the middle of the room a puff of smoke erupted and Jiraya stood on top of a toad in his signature pose "oh and that's not all" Jiraya said with a smile.
'Oh hell' Karin thought.
'You've got to be shitting me' Kurumi thought.
"Pervy sage" Naruto said surprised "I thought you went back with Nagato and paper lady" Naruto said and Jiraya chuckled.
"Well I finished my work kiddies and now I'm back after my long absence" Jiraya said hopping off the toad "and I'm here to say that; I, Jiraya the Gallant, Toad summoner and legendary sanin will train you 3 for the finals of your chunin exams" he boasted while striking a pose.
"Hell yeah" Naruto cheered.
"No fucking way you pervert" Karin and Kurumi both shouted in refusal.
In Ame: With Nagato and Konan
Both Nagato and Konan were sitting down by themselves at a table looking over all the evidence Jiraya has gathered as well as numerous testimonies
from Naruto, Temari and Obito. As Nagato put down a file on the missing children that Jiraya has linked to Danzo he sighed.
"What are your thoughts Nagato" Konan said and Nagato looked at her.
"Konan" Nagato began "I think that this is problem that not only effects Konoha and Naruto; but possibly every other shinobi village" Nagato said. "And if I do this, I'll need your help and support" Nagato said.
"You will always have my support Nagato" Konan said with a reassuring smile "what is your idea" she said.
"We will attend the chunin exam finals" Nagato said "and we will talk to the Hokage, Mizukage and Kazekage" he said making her eyes widen. "Our time of isolation has come to and end" Nagato said "it's time for us to form and alliance against this rising threat" he said.
