Chapter 2
Vicky and the Lost Wand
It was late in the evening at the Turner residence in Dimmsdale, 7:45pm, to be exact. Vicky was getting impatient for Timmy and Chloe's parents to return from their outing to go to her high school's dance. "They were supposed to be home ten minutes ago," she grumbled as she looked out the window. Immediately after saying it, the car pulled up in the driveway and the Turners entered the house. Mr. Turner explained that the Save the Sprinkler Foundation had run longer than anticipated. "Oh, you're late? I hadn't noticed," Vicky said, trying to keep a sweet demeanor. The water on their sprinkler hats eventually splashed on head, getting her hair wet. Mrs. Turner reminded Vicky of her costume dance and the redheaded teen immediately changed into a fairy costume. "How beautiful," complimented Mrs. Turner. "Still, it could use a bit of pizzazz," said Mr. Turner, reaching for a box of goofy costume supplies. "Heaven knows it's helped me in the past." "By the way, how were Timmy and Chloe this evening?" his wife asked as Vicky grabbed the box. "The little twerps," she mumbled before calling them angels so that the adults wouldn't get too suspicious. "They've been quietly playing in their room all night."
Meanwhile, upstairs in their room, Timmy and Chloe were playing pirates with Cosmo. "Have ye any last words before Greenbeard the pirate makes ye walk the plank?" asked Cosmo, dressed up as a 17th Century pirate. "Greenbeard?" Timmy asked, unamused while tied up on the plank with a pirate hat. "This pirate game was your idea, Timmy," said Cosmo, briefly transforming back to normal. "Besides, it's my favorite color." He transformed back into a pirate, convincing Timmy to continue the game. "Not so fast, Greenbeard!" shouted Timmy as he leapt off the plank towards the mast, freeing himself and his tied-up sister. "Uh, where's Wanda?" asked Chloe. "She's probably still getting dressed," said Cosmo. Just then, Wanda appeared wearing two eyepatches instead of one. Cosmo eliminated the patch on her right eye and reminded her of only needing one. "Thanks, sailor," she said as the couple laughed. "How are we doing so far, kids?" Cosmo asked the unimpressed kids. "Don't quit your day job," said Chloe, rolling her eyes. "I knew it'd be thrilling having our fairy godparents around the house," said Timmy, sarcastically. "Avast, ye swab!" said Cosmo, initiating the game again. The fairies used their wands against the kids' wooden swords as they engaged in a pretend sword fight. Timmy swung his sword so hard that it knocked Wanda's magic wand out of her hand. The wand flew out the window and landed in the supply box that Vicky was carrying as she was leaving the house to go to her party.
The fairies looked out the window in horror with the twins upon realizing what had happened. "What's wrong with losing your magic wand?" asked Chloe. "A magic wand in the wrong hands could mean TOTAL DISASTER!" explained Cosmo. "I'll wish the wand back," said Timmy. "It's not that simple," said Wanda as the fairy rule book appeared. She checked the page she was looking for, which confirmed her suspicions of the Finders Keepers law. "Whoever holds the wand has complete control over it. We can't wish it back!" "Nice going, buck-tooth!" said Chloe, folding her arms. "Hey, as if your idea of evil elves was any better!" Timmy argued. "Enough! Listen, as long as Vicky has the wand, she has the power to grant her own wishes, plus the wishes of others," said Wanda, breaking up the argument. "Then we got to follow her to the dance and get it back ourselves," said Timmy. "Cosmo, we need transportation! STAT!" screamed Chloe, grabbing the green-haired fairy's shirt.
Later that night, at Vicky's high school's costume dance, Vicky, now with the wand in her hand, gloated about winning the contest as she walked towards the entrance. Meanwhile, Timmy, Chloe, Cosmo, and Wanda were traveling by pumpkin carriage a la Cinderella towards the school. As soon as they arrived, the coach disappeared and Cosmo transformed from a horse back into his fairy form. "I thought it handled great," he said. "Seriously?" asked Chloe, raising her brows. "Best we could do with one wand, kiddos," said Cosmo. "Besides, it worked for Cinderella," said Wanda. "Yeah but, did both of us have to wear her dress?" asked Timmy, standing up with his sister, revealing that the two of them were both wearing pink dresses. "We couldn't break up the set," said Wanda. "Good thing this is a costume party. You two will fit right in," said Chloe, fixing up her blonde hair. "Cosmo, I wish I had another costume," said Timmy. "Something MANLY." Cosmo changed Timmy's costume into a toilet with a wave of his wand. Chloe was trying to hold back her laughter, but she eventually burst out guffawing, due to how ridiculous her twin brother looked with his head popping out of the toilet costume.
Meanwhile, inside the school, Vicky and her classmates were examining the food table in their costumes. "Boy, talk about lame food," she said, picking up an almost soiled banana. "Two words: Guh-Ross!" Unbeknownst to her, Wanda had poked her head from under the fruit bowl to attempt to retrieve her wand from the teen. One of Vicky's classmates, wearing a bear costume then said, "I wish it was all pizza and hot dogs." The glow from the wand shocked Wanda's hand as the boy's wish came true when pizza and hot dogs literally fell on top of everyone at the table. Vicky spat out the pepperoni and hot dog from her mouth and noticed that her dress was stained with pizza sauce. "I've gotta wash this off!" she cried as she started running towards the restroom. On her way, though, she made a quick stop in the gym, where she groaned in disgust at the German band that was playing music for the dance, boring the other students. Timmy, in his toilet costume, attempted to grab the wand when Vicky said, "I wish they'd play some rock-and-roll." Like with Wanda, the glowing wand shocked his hand as the wish came true and a rock-and-roll band took the place of the German one. The three musicians rocked out, causing both Timmy and Vicky to scream in fright at the oncoming Freshman girls that ran over their upperclassman.
Cosmo was standing by the lockers waiting for Vicky to pass by in order to charm her and retrieve his wife's wand. "Hey, gorgeous," he said as she passed by and ignored him. Cosmo nervously sped towards the Girls' Restroom and transformed into a hunk with a tuxedo, complete with a deeper voice that caused her to faint. As he reached for the wand, Wanda misinterpreted his distraction as flirting and dragged him away. "I'm sorry, snookie. Please forgive me." He transformed back into his normal self and changed the band to a smooth jazz band just for them as Vicky went into the bathroom, taking off her costume to clean, leaving her with only a yellow-green dress and pink pants to wear. "May I have this dance?" asked Cosmo. The fairy couple just laughed and started dancing like they used to when they were dating. "What's your problem, stain?" Vicky asked in frustration as she struggled to get the stain out of costume. "Hey, you wacky adolescents, it's almost contest time," said a voice over the PA speaker in the school. Vicky immediately dropped her costume and ran out of the bathroom wearing only dress to get to the judging quickly.
"Time for the big finish," said Cosmo, twirling Wanda out of his hands, knocking her into Vicky. As the dust settled, Wanda caught her magic wand, as she had knocked it out of Vicky's hand. "And now to announce the contest winner," said the judge. Vicky ran towards the gymnasium as fast as she could before the final announcement could be made. "The first runners-up are the two kids in the firefly costume." The announcer presented a trophy to Cosmo and Wanda, who both said, "We'd like to thank the academy." "And the winner is… Vicky!" said the announcer, much to the redhead's surprise. "For the most revealing, and quite frankly, scariest costume." Vicky realized that she was only wearing her dress and pants in front of everyone. "Somebody get me a costume!" she screamed in embarrassment. The fairies exchanged Timmy's costume over to Vicky and literally flushed her down. "Congratulations, you two," said Timmy. "Vicky seemed to really enjoy the dance," said Chloe. "She looked a little flushed to me," said Cosmo as both he and Wanda laughed.
THE END
For now…
