Chapter 3 – Party of Four

It was evening at the Turner residence. Both Timmy and Chloe were in their parents' bedroom complaining that they were going out for the evening again. "We have to, dears," said their mother. "Your father's receiving that big award, remember?" "That's right, kids, I was voted shiniest hair in the office," said Mr. Turner, putting on his hair gel. "Besides, your favorite babysitter will be here." "Yeah? And who's that?" asked Chloe with her arms folded as Timmy leaned against the bed. "Vicky," said Mr. Turner, causing the twins to scream and run to their bedroom, bolting the door with wood planks. "Hello? Anybody here?" asked Timmy as Cosmo and Wanda smiled while hiding in the twins' closet. "Hello?" asked Chloe, checking under the bed. "Hey, Timmy and Chloe!" said the fairy couple, startling the two kids, causing Timmy and Chloe to both grab on to the ceiling lamp. The two fairies did their introduction routine again as a surprise for their godchildren. "Do you two have to do that every time you appear?" asked Timmy. Wanda checked the rule book and read that it was optional, resulting them in answering, "As a matter of fact, we do." The kids let go of the lamp and landed on Chloe's top bunk. "Well, better brace ourselves for another miserable evening," said Timmy, as he and Chloe hung their heads in their hands. Cosmo and Wanda tried to cheer up Timmy by using him as a tennis ball for their game. "Is your dad putting that stuff in his hair again?" asked Cosmo as Wanda served Timmy over the net with her wand. "No, Vicky's coming over," replied Chloe, who was watching the match on her bed. "Well, you two seem a bit old to still need a babysitter," said Cosmo as he hit Timmy back over the net with his wand. "Just tell your folks that you're mature young individuals," began Wanda. "And should be given the chance to spend a few hours on your own," finished Cosmo. "Yeah! That just might work," said Timmy. "After all, they trust us." He realized he was still in the air and ended up falling to the floor, with Chloe cringing upon seeing the impact. "Forty-love," said Cosmo as he and Wanda laughed.

Later, Mr. Turner gave the kids emergency supplies in case they ever ran into trouble on their own. These were emergency rations, emergency phone numbers, a first kid, a second aid kit, a third aid kit, emergency flares, and an emergency satellite link-up to the Pentagon. "Are you sure you're going to be okay?" Mrs. Turner asked her two kids. "Of course mom. Don't worry. You guys are only a phone call away," said Timmy, holding the fish bowl with Cosmo and Wanda and Chloe grinned at her parents. "Our little boy and girl are growing up," cried Mrs. Turner as she started shedding happy tears. Just then, the doorbell rang and Vicky entered the house to start her nightly babysitting torture with the twins. "Where are the little darlings?" she asked, with stars in her eyes, putting on a sweet demeanor in front of the parents. She ran between the twins and hugged them to her face as she talked. "Vicky, we're not going to need you tonight, after all," said Mr. Turner, explaining that their kids would be staying home by themselves. "What?! Are you kidding?" she asked, almost revealing her true nature by calling the twins twerps as they were recovering from being squeezed. "Of course. You're right, Mr. Turner. Timmy and Chloe are perfectly capable of staying on their own." She nervously made her way out of the house, closing the door with an angry scowl, upon realizing what had happened.

As the parents were leaving, no one noticed that Vicky was spying on them in the front yard and quickly wrote down where the parents would be for the evening, which was the Dimmsdale banquet hall. Timmy closed the door behind him and the twins gave each other smug glances. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" he asked Chloe. "Oh, yes," she replied. "PARTY TIME!" the four of them shouted as Cosmo and Wanda transformed into their fairy forms. "First, we'll need some candy," said Timmy. Cosmo and Wanda made a giant bar of Gushy's Chocolate appear in front of the couch. "And some soda!" said Chloe, causing Wanda to create a fountain of pink soda pop. "Don't forget the pizza," said Cosmo as he and Wanda made a giant pizza land on top of them. "And no party would be complete without its very own…" Wanda began as the door opened thanks to her magic wand. "Conga line," finished Cosmo as the dancers filed in.

While the four of them were preparing for their own personal magic party, Vicky climbed on to a tree branch outside and said to herself, "Those little runts think they're going to cheat me out of a night's pay! They've got another thing coming!" She looked through her binoculars and saw the twins dancing in the conga line. "They're not going to get away with this!" She dialed Mr. Turner's cell phone number on her phone, where he was with his wife at the banquet hall witnessing his office's awards. "Hello?" he said, answering his phone. "You better come home right away," said Vicky, trying to expose Timmy and Chloe for doing crazy shenanigans. She then noticed that the car immediately pulled into the driveway. Vicky opened the door, expecting them to see the Conga line, only to find that Timmy was in a chair reading with his sister. "Kids, this light is far too dim to be reading in," their father said, as they grinned at Cosmo and Wanda for immediately changing things back to the way they were. "But… but there was music, and dancing, and revelry!" said Vicky, trying to explain everything that she saw. "Vicky, looks like you have an overactive imagination," said Mr. Turner, exiting the house with his wife, with Vicky following behind in shock. The fairies popped out of the fish bowl back into their normal forms once the coast was clear. "Okay, now what, Timmy and Chloe?" asked Cosmo. As the parents left, Vicky was more determined than ever to expose the twins to the adults. She looked into the window and saw the twins driving monster trucks on a dirt track in the house. "This isn't possible," she said to herself as she got splattered with mud. She looked back in again and noticed that the entire scene had turned into a giant rollercoaster ride with Chloe screaming her head off. "I HATE ROLLERCOASTERS!" she screamed to her brother as he was enjoying himself. "I'll show them," said Vicky. She took a picture with her Polaroid camera as proof of their escapades before calling their dad to come back to the house. She showed them the picture of the twins, which immediately turned into a picture of Mr. Turner in his shamrock underwear thanks to Cosmo and Wanda's intervention. The parents laughed, while Vicky was left shocked. "What's the meaning of this, young lady?" he asked. "But… but… but…" she stammered, trying to explain what had just happened. Mrs. Turner opened the door and saw the twins meditating with Cosmo and Wanda, now fish again. Mr. Turner then explained to Vicky that they probably won't be needing her anymore until Mrs. Turner noticed pepperoni stuck between Timmy's front teeth, causing Chloe to yelp in shock. Her eyes darted nervously as she ran to her room. As Mr. Turner scolded his son for not taking care of the dentures, Vicky was more than happy knowing that she would be babysitting the twins for several nights to come, much to their displeasure.

THE END

For now…
