Hello everyone, I'm back once again to bring you another chapter of my story; if you are enjoying it please keep on supporting me and my other works. This chapter is going to be especially dark as there will be some torture; you have been warned. Now with nothing else to say lets begin.
Sabaku no Kitsune: Chapter 45
Undisclosed Location (3 days after the battle of Taki): With Temari
Temari was sitting on a bed in a cell by herself as a single lightbulb flickered overhead; Temari woke up yesterday to see that she was in a holding cell and no longer in Taki. From What Temari could see the cell was clean and tidy as the bed sheets were freshly washed and the floors was swept clean.
Temari scowled at this as she realized why; she was a special prisoner. Normal captured shinobi would be tortured for information and kept in cells that were not as clean as hers; Kunoichi especially had more to worry about if their captors were male and wanted to 'relive stress' by raping or killing them.
But so far Temari hasn't been interrogated or even spoked to; the only way into the cell was a solid metal door and from what Temari could see both of her guards were female judging from their bodies and their ponytails. Temari normally would be trying to break out but she couldn't as they put a chakra seal on her and removed her cloths and hair ties thoroughly disarmed her.
Temari was not wearing her normal cloths or her chakra armor; she now wore a bright orange prison jumpsuit which ironically reminded her of Naruto. Temari felt a put in her stomach as she thought about him; Temari hardly ever spent any long periods of time away from Naruto and she couldn't feel anything but worry about him.
Or more specifically; worry about what he's going to do.
Suddenly the lock to the door clanged and Temari jumped up as the door opened; both of the female root guards stood at attention as Shikamaru and Danzo stood in the doorway with a unidentified anbu behind them.
"Hello Ms.Temari" Danzo said as he walked in with Shikamaru and the unidentified root anbu "I hope you've been well; or as well as you could be doing". Temari didn't say anything as she glared at the one eyed man like she was trying to set him on fire with her mind; Danzo sighed and turned behind him. "Tenzo, would you be so kind" Danzo asked the now identified Tenzo.
"Yes Lord Danzo" Tenzo said as he made a hand sign; out of the concrete ground came grew out some tree roots that made Temari go wide eyed.
'Wood Style; that's the first Hokage's kekkei genkai, how is this possible' Temari thought in shock; the roots coming out of the ground formed into 4 objects; a table and 3 chairs, one for Temari and 2 for Danzo and Shikamaru.
Shikamaru and Danzo both sat in their seats and Shikamaru spoke "sit down Temari" he said and Temari glared at him. Temari sat down in her seat across from them and waited; Shikamaru pulled out a scroll and opened it.
A puff of smoke errupted and a bowl of Kenchin soup, some Yakitori and rice along with a cup of tea "I hope this food is to your liking" Danzo said "it's not the best but-".
In a flash Temari used her arm to knock everything off the table and send it to the floor; Shikamaru was wide eyed but Danzo didn't even flinch, like he expected it to happed.
"Sabaku no Temari" Temari said in a growl "Suna Jonin; number 53-004"; Danzo looked at her impressed at this.
'Name, rank, serial number' Danzo thought 'even when presented with food she will only say what she's required to'. "Very well then" Danzo said as he got up shocking Shikamaru "lets go commander Nara; she won't talk". Shikamaru hesitated for a moment and nodded.
"Yes sir" Shikamaru said as he got up and all 3 men began to walk out; reaching the door Shikamaru stopped and turned to Temari and spoke "I'll send someone in here later for the mess".
Temari looked at the 3 men with a death glare and she spoke "I can't wait for Naruto to get here and kill you all" she said. Danzo looked at her blankly and spoke.
"We'll see" Danzo said as he, Shikamaru and Tenzo left; upon leaving Temari got up and went to her bed and sat down again. Temari scooted her back up against the wall and put her head to her knees curling up like a ball.
'Naruto… where are you' Temari thought.
Taki at night; in the barracks: With Sakura
Sakura was walking to the Taki barracks in order to get Hinata for some reason; Sakura didn't know the specifics but a slug summon from Tsunade appeared in her room and asked her to come and get her.
'Wonder why they need me to get her' Sakura thought as she walked through the halls of the barracks; as she did so she saw numerous Spring, Suna, Konoha renegades and Kumo ninja walking around and chatting amongst each other.
Sakura would feel happy about the camaraderie but she knew everything wasn't alright; Temari was still missing and everyone knew she was captured during the battle. Some thought she was dead but Tsunade, Kakashi and the other jonin knew that she was most likely captured; Temari was not only the sister to the Kazekage but she was also a bloodline carrier and a diplomat among multiple nations.
Not even Danzo or his lackeys would be stupid enough to kill or harm such a useful bargaining chip. Sakura continued to walk through the barracks going to a less populated side of the large building as the sounds of talking became more and more distant.
As Sakura turned a corner she saw Hinata sitting on a bench with a speaker with a MP3 player connected to it next to her; the speaker was playing cheerful pop music and Sakura walked up.
"Hey Hinata, I'm here to get you" Sakura said "why are you just sitting here with the radio playing-"; Sakura paused as she looked at Hinata's face. Hinata's pale Lavender eyes were wide open with a horrified expression; she didn't have her Byakugan activated but she looked through Sakura like she wasn't even there. Sakura could also see she was slightly rocking back and forth like a scared child; Sakura having enough turned off the speaker and spoke.
"Hinata are you ok" Sakura asked concerned "do you need-"; Sakura was cut off when she heard a loud and primal scream from down the hall. Hinata flinched and immediately turned the speaker back on and the music began to play once again; Hinata then curled up into a ball and began to rock back and forth and began to speak.
"Listen to the music, listen to the music, listen to the music, listen to the music" Hinata said over and over to herself; Sakura turned to the door at the end of the hall and began to walk towards it. There was another scream from the room and Sakura began to walk more quickly to the room; Sakura reached the door and opened it up and what she saw shocked her.
(Warning: Torture)
Naruto, Tsunade, Anko and Kakashi were all standing around Neji who was naked and sitting in a metal wash basin filled with water; Anko was cranking on a old radio generator and Naruto had a wooden axe handle using it to keep Neji from jumping out. Kakashi and Tsunade were looking down at Neji.
"Hit him again" Tsunade said and Anko nodded; Anko began to crank the radio generator and the 2 wires which were attached to Neji began to electrocute him. Neji's muscles constricted and he he began to rise up but Naruto using the axe handle pushed him back down; after a few seconds Tsunade spoke "where did they take Temari".
"Go to hell" Neji said and Tsunade nodded towards Anko who began to crank again electrocuting Neji once more.
"Oh my god what are you doing" Sakura shouted surprising them all as they all turned to look at her; Sakura walked over and over to Anko. She ripped the leads out of the generator and immediately went over to Neji; Neji was barely conscious as he laid in the water as Sakura looked him over.
Neji's face was swollen from what looked like beatings as his left eyes was swollen shut and several teeth were missing; she looked lower at his body and saw that there were old and new bruises all around along his body. But what made Sakura cringe was that state of his hands; his tendons were cut and his fingernails were ripped out.
"Sakura what the hell" Naruto shouted "he was going to say something; I had a good feeling this time"; Sakura looked to Naruto and saw how bad he looked. Naruto looked sleep deprived as there were dark rings around his eyes and they were blood shot; Sakura also saw that Naruto's knuckled were cut and bruised and Sakura put together that he was the one who beat Neji.
"What are you all thinking" Sakura said as she stood up "Neji is our prisoner; this is a violation of the rules of war".
"The rules of war went out the fucking window when they put our buddies heads on pikes" Anko said getting back up "or don't you remember that your folks were-".
"ANKO" Kakashi shouted stopping the snake mistress "back off"; Anko raised her hands up in surrender and Tsunade spoke to Sakura.
"Sakura you need to understand how bad the situation is" Tsunade said "Temari, one of our best shinobi and commander has been taken by Danzo; we need to find her and extract her asap".
"When this prick gives us a location we can do it" Naruto said looking at Neji "I'll go by myself if I have to".
"I'll never tell you a thing" Neji said looking to Naruto "you piece of Uzumaki filth"; Naruto cocked back his fist and punched Neji across the face.
"Shut your ass up" Naruto said in a rage "you'll talk eventually buddy".
"So why is Hinata out there huh" Sakura asked "what did you make her do".
"We brought her in here to talk to Neji and get him to speak" Kakashi said "instead he talked about how he killed Hanabi; when that happened Naruto began to beat him before we started electrocuting him"; Sakura was appalled by this and Kakashi continued. "Hinata couldn't take it anymore so she stepped out" Kakashi said "Anko gave her the speaker and music player to keep her calm".
"I want that back by the way" Anko said "I have three hundred of my favorite songs on that thing".
Sakura fed up with the whole situation walked towards the door and opened it; she turned around at Kakashi and spoke.
"Don't even think about sleeping with me tonight" Sakura said as she slammed to door and went to go and get Hinata.
Kakashi sighed as now he pissed off Sakura; although considering he was just torturing a former comrade he understands.
Tsunade groaned and looked to Kakashi "Kakashi, help me take Neji back to his cell" she said "Anko, Naruto… dismissed"; Anko nodded and walked over to Naruto and wrapped her arm around him.
"Come on cutie; lets get some beers and dango" Anko said looking at Naruto with a smile.
"Sure" Naruto said in a dull and emotionless voice; Anko led Naruto out of the room leaving Tsunade and Kakashi in there with Neji.
'I've never seen Naruto like this' Tsunade thought 'when I saw him for the first time after he left Konoha he was a wreck; but now… I don't know what to think'. Tsunade has been trying to gauge how Naruto is doing mentally for the past 3 days; he hasn't broken down nor has he shut himself off. But from she has seen Naruto has been getting more and more violent and this is showing in his treatment of Neji.
When Naruto first asked Neji where Temari was and Neji didn't say anything and Naruto didn't hesitate to start beating him; Anko being a torture and interrogation specialist began to help Naruto with trying to break Neji. All of the damage inflicted towards Neji has been by Naruto and this has been making Tsunade wary of his mental state.
'Looks like Konoha finally got what they feared' Tsunade said 'they have sowed the seeds to create a monster'. 'Hopefully Gaara and the others can help me out' Tsunade thought as Gaara was supposed to to arrive tomorrow.
The next day; Taki council chambers: With Naruto, Tsunade and the others
Gaara was sitting with Naruto, Kankuro and Karin by his side while Tsunade, Jiraya, Kakashi and Anko sat on the other.
"Gaara I would like to say I apologize for what happened" Tsunade said "but I can assure you that we are looking for any information about Temari's whereabouts". Gaara nodded and spoke.
"I do not blame you lady Tsunade" Gaara said "I just want her delivered back safely; no matter the cost". Naruto looked at Gaara and spoke.
"Don't worry Gaara; I'm doing everything I can to get some information" Naruto said and Gaara nodded; Gaara looked at Naruto and felt a little disturbed by how Naruto looked. Naruto was looking very tired and worn out like he hasn't slept in days and he has lost some weight like he stopped eating.
"And how is that going" Gaara asked and Naruto spoke.
"I got something new to make Neji crack; I'll be heading over to do it when we are done here" Naruto said coldly and Gaara and Kankuro both wondered what he was planning. Meanwhile Karin felt a disturbing feeling in Naruto's chakra and felt uneasy around him.
'Naruto… what's happen to you' Karin thought.
"Ok then" Gaara said before looking back at Tsunade "but enough about that for now; we need to focus on our next step of the war"; Gaara was trying to change the subject. "While we were in Ame we made some decent gains against Kusa" Gaara said before looking over to Jiraya who took over.
"We have been making steady process while you were readying up for the invasion of Taki" Jiraya said "despite the numerical advantage of the combined Kusa,Taki, and Konoha we have held the line and even pushed them back across the northern border". Tsunade and Kakashi nodded at this and Jiraya continued "now with Taki knocked out of the fight and the remnants stuck in Kusa we can begin an invasion from two fronts" he said.
"I agree" Tsunade said "I have already contacted Mei back in Kiri and she should be sending fifteen hundred ninja to Taki soon"; Jiraya and Gaara both nodded and Tsunade continued. "Kumo will lend some support but they are mostly going to be focusing on taking Oto; so we can expect no more than five hundred ninja at best" Tsunade said.
"That's fine" Gaara said "when do you think we can open up another front"; Tsunade thought for a moment and spoke.
"Two weeks at most" Tsunade said "and when the front opens up I think it'll be best if I'm not involved"; Naruto, Gaara and everyone else looked at her. "Taki will need an occupation force to help set up another government and keep stability" Tsunade said "Gaara, Kakashi and Jiraya should be the commanders of this operation".
"Very well then Lady Tsunade" Kakashi said "I ask that Guy be my second in command and Sakura as my medical head"; Tsunade nodded at this and Jiraya spoke up.
"I'll take Naruto as my second in command and I'll have Hinata as my medical head" Jiraya said and Naruto looked at Jiraya.
"You really want me to be there with you" Naruto asked and Jiraya nodded.
"You're my student and one of my most trusted persons" Jiraya said but this was only half the explaination 'I also need to keep and eye on you'.
"And that leaves me" Gaara said "Kankuro and Karin have been good as my second in command and my medical personnel; I'll keep them with me".
"Ok then; we will talk more about this later" Tsunade said and everyone nodded; Naruto immediately got up and spoke.
"Granny, Pervy Sage, Kakashi sensei; meet me in Neji's cell in 30 minutes" Naruto said and they all raised and eyebrow "he's gonna talk this time"; Naruto turned around and began to walk out with a sense of urgency. 'He better be ready to talk' Naruto thought 'for her sake'.
30 minutes later; Neji's cell: With Tsunade, Jiraya and Kakashi (Warning: Torture)
Neji was in a dimly lit and damp cell while tied to a chair and having Tsunade, Jiraya and Kakashi in there as well; the 3 of them looked at the sorry state Neji was in but none of them felt any pity for him. Neji chose his path with his own free will.
As they waited they heard the sound of sandals and bare feet hitting the floor; after a few second the door to the room opened and Naruto, Anko and a person wearing a hood walked in. Anko was carrying a chair and a bucket of ice and set both down hard making Neji look up; Naruto put the hooded person in the chair and began to strap them down.
"What is this" Neji said and Naruto glared at him as he tied a rope around the persons wrist.
"You're last chance at redemption Neji" Naruto said coldly "you have two options; either you tell me who took Temari and where she's being held, or-"; Naruto pulled the hood off the person revealing Tenten who was gagged and crying. "Tenten pays the price" Naruto said; Neji seeing this went wide eyed but quickly calmed himself.
Neji smirked at this "nice try failure" Neji said and Naruto began to reach into his pocket "you're to nice, you don't have the stomach for it". "You've always taken the high road; even when the villagers attacked you, you never threw a single punch" Neji said "always trying to be the bigger man always-".
Naruto pulled out a pair of wire cutters and grabbed one of Tenten's fingers; Naruto used the wire cutters to cut off one of Tenten's fingers making the her let out a muffled scream before Naruto threw the finger in the bucket of ice.
"NARUTO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING" Neji shouted as he looked at Tenten who was crying; Tsunade, Jiraya, Kakashi and Anko looked on and were both disturbed and impressed.
Naruto was using Tenten to make Neji talk; using a loved one to get information from a target isn't something new to them. Kakashi and Anko being former anbu have done their fare share of torture as well as both Jiraya and Tsunade to a certain extent.
However what disturbed them was that it was Naruto doing it; Naruto had always been virtuous and kind hearted. Now he was torturing someone he used to call his comrade; Naruto reached up and took the gag out of Tenten's mouth.
Tenten began to breath heavily as she looked at Naruto and began to speak "N-Naruto, p-please" she begged "I never did anything to you; I thought you were a good person".
"I know Tenten, I know" Naruto said looking at her "I have nothing against you, like at all"; Naruto looked over to Neji. "Unlike that piece of shit you stuck with your friends" Naruto said "you didn't betray me at all; hell we only knew each other for like what… two months". "You knew Neji for years and you stuck by him; that shows how loyal you are to him" Naruto said "now we just need to see how loyal he is to you".
Naruto walked over to Neji and got in his face "where is Temari" he asked.
Neji was breathing heavily from both fear and anger; he wanted to help Tenten but he couldn't bring himself to give up vital information "no" he said. Naruto frowned and walked back over to Tenten who began to squirm.
"No, Neji please" Tenten begged as Naruto grabbed another finger "Naruto don't".
"I'm not here Tenten" Naruto said dully "I'm somewhere else watching… I'm not doing anything"; Naruto looked into Tenten's eyes and she saw his normally blue eyes were now red and slitted. "Sorry" Naruto said as he proceeded to cut off another finger; Tenten screamed even louder and began to squirm in an attempt to break free, Naruto threw that finger into the ice bucket and looked to Neji. "She's got eight more" Naruto said to a fuming Neji "want to spill it now".
Neji began to hyperventilate as he looked at Tenten who was sobbing uncontrollably "Neji… please" Tenten said in a whimper "help me". Neji grit his teeth as he had an internal struggle; he then saw Naruto lift up another one of Tenten's finger and Neji spoke up.
"STOP, STOP" Neji shouted and Naruto stopped and looked at him; Neji gulped down and spoke "Shikamaru was the one in charge of the academy; he was the one who took her". Naruto began to feel his blood behind to boil as his red slitted eyes blowed in the dark of the dimly lit room.
"Where did he take her" Naruto asked in a low growl.
"H-he took her back to the main root base… in Konoha" Neji said "that's where we took those who had special abilities or important statuses"; Neji looked to Naruto who had a scowl on his face. "I told you what you wanted to hear; let her go" Neji said in a defeated tone.
Tenten was crying as she looked at Neji and Naruto let go of her hand "I am sorry Tenten; the things you do for those you love" he said "Granny… can you reattach her fingers".
Tsunade nodded "we don't have a lot of time, but yes I can" she said as she walked over and picked up the ice bucket with Tenten's finger in them "Kakashi, Anko; help Tenten".
Both jonin nodded and they untied Tenten and took her out of the room; this left Jiraya and Naruto alone with Neji who glared at Naruto.
"You know what's happening next right" Naruto said and Neji nodded "Pervy Sage… step out for a moment" Jiraya clenched his fists and spoke.
"Make it quick" Jiraya said as he stepped out and closed the door; Naruto looked at Neji with a look of rage and Neji spoke.
"Heh… you'll never win" Neji said "Danzo, Shikamaru, Kiba, Itachi… you can't kill them all"; Naruto created a single clone and held out his hand.
Naruto began to form a rasengan and once it was complete the clone burst into smoke; Naruto proceeded to stand a foot away from Neji and he spoke.
"Watch me" Naruto said as he brought back his arm and sent it towards Neji's chest.
Root Base: With Temari
"Let me go" Temari shouted as she struggled while being dragged by 2 root anbu; the anbu dragged her into a room and there was a hospital bed with straps int he middle. The Anbu dragged Temari onto the bed and she proceeded to knee one in the ribs making him let go; Temari used her free arm to throw a punch at the other.
As she did that four more anbu ran up and held her down again; the anbu began to use the straps to restrain her as she fought to break free.
"I'll kill you; I'll fucking kill you all" Temari shouted as she struggled.
"What a foul mouth you have" came a voice; Temari looked over and saw Danzo along with Shikamaru, Inoichi Yamanaka and Fuu Yamanaka walk up.
"I don't care what you do to me" Temari said with a snarl "I won't tell you a fucking thing".
"That's not what we're here for" Inoichi said as he walked up and looked down at Temari "I'm here for revenge, for my daughter Ino". Temari paled at this and he continued "I probed your mind when you were unconscious and I have to say; there is nothing I'd like more than to turn your mind to jelly". "But… Lord Danzo told me about an alternative kind of revenge; and I must say, I like it a lot more" Inoichi said; Inoichi took out a piece of paper with a seal on it and placed it onto Temari's head.
Fuu spoke up next "this is a forbidden Yamanaka clan jutsu; even among our clansmen it's quite a taboo to use it" he said "but… we can make an exception". As both Yamanaka's got on both sides of her and stood above her Shikamaru walked up and spoke.
"Temari" Shikamaru said looking down at her "I'm sorry about this". "I hope one day… you can forgive me for this" Shikamaru said; Temari didn't know what he meant but couldn't as as both Inoichi and Fuu made hand signs and the seal began to activate.
Temari immediately felt a burning sensation in her brain as she began to scream violently and thrashed around as the seal began to get burned into her forehead.
