YO! Hope you guys are doing good!

I was able to write this chapter up pretty fast considering my update rate since like the beginning of this rewrite. The last few days, I've had some time and I was like, 'Fuck it, I'll grind on this shit.' And now here I am, with the new chapter. I really appreciate all the love I've been getting from you guys for this story. As I always say, it only keeps me motivated to write more and finish this thing!

Responding to the reviews from the last chapter:

- Yep. Yamada was kind of doing cardio but at least he had 3 steals lmaooo

- You made a great suggestion, ngl. However, Hachiman not wearing #8 jersey is imo is kind of a missed opportunity. Plus he does wear the headband that Makoto used to own. And yeah, I am glad you are catching onto the tiny character development I am trying to show through my writing. That makes me glad. And speaking of Totsuka, he will definitely make an appearance and he'll hold a special place in 8Man's (our) heart(s).

- Yeah, Tobe needs to chill with the things he says sometimes. Bro did not give a damn that he was saying it in front of Shizuka 💀. And I am happy that you are liking the part with 8Dad. As one of the reviews said, it is rare to find a supportive 8Dad in this FF section. And the baseball fic you are talking about, I am afraid I haven't came across it but I'll look for it.

Since I took a summer class for college, the pace of my updating might slow down a bit. However, I promise you all that I will NOT abandon this story like the OG. I am actually having fun with the plot and the characters in this. So yeah, just wanted to let you all know that.

Without further ado, please enjoy this new chapter!

"Would you like me to help you study over the weekend?" Hachiman's ears slightly twitched as the words made their way towards his ears.

It was lunchtime on a Tuesday at Sobu High School. Instead of making his way to the rooftop like he usually does, Hachiman chose to go to the office of the Student Council on this day. The only reason he greeted this place with his presence here was due to his senpai inviting him through a text message. After assuring him that it will be just the two of them here during lunch break, the First Year Student didn't think much of it before agreeing to her invitation. It was nice to know that Shiromeguri put in the effort but he didn't care if there were others in the office besides them. Hachiman didn't care about implications anyone might make if they were to be discovered by themselves during this time. He had gone through enough in his life so far to know that society, especially the younger generation in it, loved to create anything that might give them some form of entertainment. Drama and false rumors were at the top of the list of methods to achieve that entertainment for most of those younger people.

Despite knowing this, Hachiman had no care for such things. Shiromeguri-senpai had wormed her way into his heart as a person in his life that he now cared about, which he would've vehemently refused only a few months ago from the current timeline. He at least owed this much to the Student Council President for what she has done for him throughout his first High School Year.

"Hmm…" After chewing on and gulping down his tempura from his bento box, Hachiman hummed without giving Shiromeguri a proper answer. In return, the older girl put on a cute pout on her face. This only prompted the younger student to raise one of his eyebrows in response.

"Hikigaya-kun! Please answer me seriously!" huffed the Second Year student before grabbing a rice ball with her chopsticks and biting into it. Hachiman eyed her for a second and sighed before doing as she wished.

"I guess you being the Student Council President allows you to know when we are gonna have exams. How about you? Don't you guys have an exam too?" Shiromeguri finished swallowing her riceball and then sent a smile at Hachiman's direction after the question.

"I already studied enough for my Physics exam. And it's on the upcoming Friday. But still, thank you for asking! You know..this is what I like so much about Hikigaya-kun! Even with how you try to surround yourself with this 'Don't approach me unless you want to die' aura, you care a lot about those close to you, don't you? Ufufu~" the girl deepened her voice and maneuvered her hands to impersonate his 'aura' before she fell into a giggling fit. Hachiman's eyes twitched in annoyance at her last comment while a small blush sported around his face.

"Please stop…" grumbled Hachiman while looking away from the giggling girl.

"I apologize. That was a little too cruel of me," Hachiman blankly stared at the female student after she made her response. Shiromeguri didn't wait for Hachiman to reply as she continued on.

"Congratulations on your first win as a member of Sobu High School's basketball team! Sato-san told me that you did incredible in the game! Even better than him," the Second Year student added.

"He had the most points, just to let you know. I think everyone did their part if I am being honest," replied the dark-haired teen. Meguri's smile widened after hearing his reply.

"Of course! Hikigaya-kun, on top of being a great player, you are also a great teammate who credits his peers," the girl warmly smiled at him. Hachiman only looked at her with a conflicted expression as he internally disagreed with her sentiment.

"I am sure your younger sister was ecstatic seeing you play," the older girl continued on once again.

"Yeah. Wouldn't let me go after I came out of that locker room. Same thing with that obsessive bug, Taishi…" Hachiman muttered, inciting a look of confusion from his senpai due to his last few words.

"Hm?" Shiromeguri tilted her head. Hachiman noticed this and sighed before speaking again.

"Don't worry. Just rambling," the look of confusion transformed into an understanding one as Shiromeguri smiled. However, that smile quickly turned into a frown, making Hachiman raise his eyebrow in response.

"I apologize for not being able to show up in the last game. I don't think I'll be able to appear in the next one either…" she explained while looking down on the ground. Hachiman didn't like seeing her in such a state so he took the initiative to resolve that.

"It's alright. You are the Student Council President, which means you are very busy even outside of school hours. Plus, those leg sleeves that you gave me….wearing them feels like…ugh…you were there…all along," the First Year student inwardly cringed while getting those words out with immense difficulty. While doing it, a blush sported his face as he avoided eye contact with the only other occupant in the Student Council's office. Shiromeguri's eyes went wide before she began giggling out of nowhere.

"Ufufu! Hikigaya-kun is a really considerate person. And I promise. Your senpai won't miss the game after your next one!" she pumped her fist with determination as she stated her claim.

"Right. And about the study thing, I think I got it. You don't have to help," explained the First Year Student. Shiromeguri merely frowned while hearing his answer.

"But wouldn't having help from someone who already took this class be more of an advantage for you?" replied the Student Council President. Hachiman sighed before looking at her once more.

"Why would you even want to help me study? I am doing a little better in my classes already thanks to you and it would only take away from your free time. I don't see how this is beneficial towards you," Hachiman explained with a calm look on his face.

"Spending time with Hikigaya-kun is very beneficial for me! I would've suggested going forward with our plan today if you didn't have practice after school. And unfortunately, I will be busy with Student Council work over the next two days," Hachiman looked at her with squinted eyebrows, wondering if she was aware of the other possible meanings behind the words of her first sentence in her reply. Once again, before he could say something, Shiromeguri began speaking out.

"Why do you ask? Is it because Hikigaya-kun doesn't want to spend time with his senpai?" Her expression became one of crestfallen at the end of her words. To the first year student, the expression the young woman had on her face didn't fit her at all. Her demeanor made Hachiman grunt in annoyance since it managed to trigger his 'Onii-chan' instincts even though he was the younger one here.

"Fine. Just let me know when and where. And we are only studying for around an hour. Plus no 'buying lunch' nonsense," Hachiman finally relented and agreed.

"Yay!" The Student Council President of Sobu High jumped up in joy at his answer. Hachiman looked at her and sighed at the fact that he had agreed to her plans once more. However, he didn't have any regrets over his decision and it made him a little happy to see the joyous look on the Second Year student's face.

"Man open in the corner!" Nishimiya called out as he was dodging a screen. Kiyoshi, who currently had no one to guard, grimaced and rushed his way to the right corner. However, he was too late to rotate as the open player in the corner quickly received the ball and sank in an easy three point shot. The crowd loudly cheered at the play as the home team began making their way back to playing defense.

This allowed Kashiwai High to raise their lead by three points, making the current score to be Kashiwai High's 49 to Sobu HIgh's 34 right before the end of the first half. Hachiman watched while sitting on the bench along with Sato and Koji as the coach of Sobu High punched his clipboard in frustration at the bad defensive response. Everyone looked on as Kiba inbounded the ball to Kiyoshi, who lazily brought it up the court and tried to throw a long pass to Yamada at the left wing. However, Kiyoshi's defender intercepted the pass rather easily and sprinted to the other end of the court on the fastbreak, inciting another roar from the crowd.

After laying the ball up with ease, Sobu could only inbound the ball before the buzzer sounded off to indicate the end of the first half. As everyone on the losing team made their way back to their own bench, they were greeted with the infuriated expression of their coach, which made some of the players pale in fear.

"Make your way here quick!" roared Miyashita sensei, which triggered the Sobu High students to quicken their steps.

After everyone was seated on the bench, the coach stared at all of his players in distaste before speaking out.

"What am I seeing out there!? Kiba and Tobe! I told you time and time again! DO NOT FOUL! So why don't you brats listen!?" exploded the middle-aged man. The mentioned students could only look away in shame at his words. The man then turned his attention to one of the twins.

"Kiyoshi! Stop being distracted and keep your head in the game! You turned the ball over more than four times already! And don't just stand there like you don't know what you are doing when they set double picks! GUARD SOMEBODY!" Kiyoshi, just like Tobe and Kiba, kept his gaze away from Miyashita in guilt. This in turn made the coach turn to the only two players remaining from the lineup that had played to end the first half for Sobu High.

"Yamada! Don't be afraid of shooting threes! I don't care if you miss it! Get open! If they are always blocking the path to the paint, get yourself open for an outside shot! Keep moving around the court! And keep up the defensive aggression you've been showing today," Miyashita yelled but not to the same intensity as he did with Kiyoshi. Yamada in response just nodded firmly at the coach's instructions.

"And Nishimiya! Keep up the great work. I like the hustle and effort you are putting in on both ends of the court. And just like I said to Yamada, don't be afraid to take a three point shot. Now only if some of your other teammates was as passionate and energetic…" Nishimiya could only nod at the coach's praise while some of the other players winced at the added words of disappointment from him.

After his outburst, he turned to the three players that were on the bench from before the end of the first half. He then eyed both Sato and Koji.

"I get that you won't be able to make jump shots everyday. You might have bad days. And I get it. But that doesn't mean you can't find other ways to score. Sato is trying to cut to the basket and you should follow your captain's example, Koji," Koji could only turn away in disappointment at Miyashita's statement. However, Sato, who was sitting next to him, noticed this and put a hand on his shoulder while offering him a smile. Koji turned around to see Sato's comforting look and it made his confidence rise up a bit, making Koji smile in return.

"And Hikigaya, I'm running you at one and I need you to focus on putting up points instead of finding your open teammates. You've already been doing it today but I need you to make scoring your primary task while playmaking your secondary one. Can I count on you for that?" Hachiman, who was aware that his teammates were having bad games and he led the team in scoring this game, gave a confident nod to the man.

"Alright. Take a breather and get hydrated before the third quarter. The game plan is to run the offense through Hikigaya and let him put up points. Your job is to create opportunities for him by spacing the floor and setting picks. Tobe, Nishimiya, Koji, and Sato, you all will be joining Hikigaya to start the next quarter. Tobe, don't foul and Koji, don't be afraid to cut to the basket. Now Sobu on three," Everyone gathered around the coach and put their hands in the middle after his last sentence.

"One, two, three…" started off Miyashita.

"SOBU!" collectively shouted the group of Sobu High students except for Hachiman, who joined them but didn't raise his voice to the same level as his teammates. As he began walking back to the bench from the broken up huddle, he stopped and looked back to notice Shizuka and Komachi sitting next to each other while waving at him. Giving them a nod in return, he continued on his way and eventually sat at his spot on the bench. While taking sips of water from his bottle, the teen mentally prepared himself for the upcoming quarter.

With the score being 51 to 34 in Kashiwai High's favor, the buzzer finally sounded off to begin the 3rd quarter of the game between Sobu High and Kashiwai High. Hachiman knew he was probably the leading scorer for the team as his other teammates were having an off day today. For Kashiwai High, it was one of their forwards who kept posting up and drawing fouls on both Tobe and Kiba, allowing him to shoot more free throws. With that thought in his mind, Hachiman received the ball from Nishimiya and began taking it up the court. Seeing Koji at the right wing with his defender on him, Hachiman quickly passed the ball to him.

As Koji received the ball, Hachiman motioned him to switch spots, leading the twin to be at the top of the three point line while Hachiman was at the right wing. Tobe. who was at the right block in front of Hachiman, jogged towards him and set a pick to the dark-haired teen's right. Using the screen, Hachiman then began cutting to the basket while forcing Tobe's defender to switch onto him. However, he surprised the defender by quickly turning around and cutting back towards the right wing once more. As soon as he got there, Koji passed the ball back to him. Seeing the amount of space in front of him, the First-Year student prepared to take a shot from the three as his defender rushed towards him. Once again, Hachiman fooled his defender as his shot attempt turned out to be fake, leaving him an open lane to the rim for an easy lay up. The teen wasted no time driving to the rim and the defense was too late to respond as they watched him finish at the rim with his left hand.

After his score, Hachiman high fived both Tobe and Nishimiya as Sobu High's players began returning to the other end of the court. Hachiman made sure to stick to his man, who was playing at the three for Kashiwai High, as his opponents brought the ball up. Hachiman watched as the forward from Kashiwai High set a screen on Koji and forced the smaller player to switch onto him. Right after, the forward went into a triple threat for a few seconds before posting up against the twin. As instructed by Miyashita, Sobu High didn't waste time to throw a double team at the ball handler, with Hachiman being the help defender. Even after that, the big-sized forward tried to continue posting up as he did before but allowed Hachiman to smack the ball out of his control. Nishimiya instantly dove for the loose ball and was successful at grabbing onto the ball.

As he sat on the floor surrounded by players from both teams, Nishimiya immediately looked around himself. He found Hachiman closing in on him and was able to get the ball to him through a gap among the players that tried to crowd around him. After successfully gaining the possession back for Sobu High, Hachiman slowly brought the ball up while Nishimiya and the rest of the players began making their way back to the opposite end of the court. Hachiman eyed everyone on the other side as he brought the ball up to the court. He was prepared to go into isolation but Nishimiya set a screen for him on his right without any signal being given to him.

Letting out a sigh, Hachiman utilized the screen and moved to his right while his defender was unable to keep up with him due to Nishimiya's screen. This forced Nishimiya's defender to sloppily switch onto Hachiman. Before the defender could properly set his feet and defend the ball handler, the dark-haired teen pulled a between-the-leg from right to left and took a hard dribble to step back. This resulted in the defender being unable to balance himself and caused him to go flying to the right side until he reached the out-of-bounds line, where he finally fell to the ground to avoid impact against the audience. Hachiman meanwhile took a three point shot comfortably and sank it in to add three more points to Sobu High's total score. Even though he was a part of the away team, his play received some loud cheers from the crowd as he began making his way back on defense, high-fiving his teammates on the way.

The defender that had his ankles broken quickly gathered himself and joined his teammates on getting back on the offense. Kashiwai High ran a play that made Hachiman chase after his man as he began moving through the players. He was able to avoid the screens other players set on him due to his teammates calling them out. Eventually, his man finally stopped at the left wing to set a screen for the shooting guard of Kashiwai High, who approached him from the opposite side. Hachiman switched to cover the other player after Koji got stuck with his man through the screen. Unfortunately for Sobu High, Koji never thought to switch and unintentionally doubled along with Hachiman on the current ball handler. The guard from Kashiwai High instantly took advantage of this defensive miscommunication and passed the ball to Hachiman's previously assigned player, who wasted no time to get a mid range shot off. To Sobu High players' relief, the shot hit the side of the rim and allowed Tobe to get the rebound.

Tobe quickly threw the ball to Hachiman and joined everyone else in heading back to the opposite side of the court. Hachiman made sure to move forward at a slower pace than everyone else so his teammates could get to their spots. Seeing his desire come to a fruition, the teen sped up as he dribbled up the court with his left hand and called for a screen. Tobe answered him by popping up next to Hachiman's defender on the left side. As soon as the screen was set, Kashiwai High reacted by throwing a double team towards the ball handler. Hachiman noticed the help defender coming his way and quickly used the screen to go left. After using the screen set by Tobe, Hachiman was in front of the 2nd defender Kashiwai High threw at him for the double team. From his peripheral vision, Hachiman noticed that Nishimiya was left wide open in the corner only for a second before the defense rotated to him.

Realizing he was going to be trapped soon, Hachiman did a between-the-leg dribble from left to right and then quickly followed it up with a right to left crossover. This allowed him to create a slight amount of space from his original defender that had already caught up to him. Hachiman wasted no time using the space he created to drive to the rim on his left side while dribbling hard with his left hand. The 2nd defender that was sent his way for the double team tried to resist but instead, had his right arm hooked on Hachiman's free arm, which was his right one. Hachiman still attacked the basket and threw a one-handed shot up from the mid range area while grunting loudly. After he threw the shot up, the referee overseeing the game blew his whistle. The sound of whistle was followed with a lot of 'boos' from the crowd right after.

"WHAT!? How's that a foul?" yelled one of the players from Kashiwai High's team. It was the student who was originally guarding Hachiman before the play was run. The referee only sent him a blank look while staying silent as the Kashiwai High player was looking at him incredulously. The lack of reply from the referee prompted the Kashiwai High player that the foul was called on to speak up.

"C'mon ref! This guy should be in the Acting Club of his school, not the Basketball Club! You know yourself that was a flop…" The teen directed his last message while staring at Hachiman, who was surrounded by his teammates.

The dark-haired teen knew that he sold the act pretty well and didn't feel good about it. However, his task was to put up points for his team and as no else showed up in this game so far, he had no choice. He would do whatever possible to score in this game barring dirty plays, even if it meant selling for foul calls. With his mind made up, he only stared at the player talking to him for a few seconds before heading to the free throw line and standing behind it.

"Are you actually fucking serious? You call that a foul!? That Sobu brat was clearly acting!" yelled the coach of Kashiwai High with nothing but rage in his voice. The man's shout was loud enough for the majority of the audience to hear. As soon as he finished complaining, the referee blew his whistle again and made a 'T' sign with both of his arms before pointing at the coach of Kashiwai High, who just rolled his eyes and groaned.

"Are you kidding me…?" whispered one of the big men from Kashiwai High's team. The Sobu High players meanwhile, both on the court and the bench, could only awkwardly witness the scene unfolding before them. Hachiman pumped his fist mentally before turning around and looking at the team captain.

"Wanna shoot the technical free throw, Sato-senpai?" Sato only smiled and shook his head in response.

"You can shoot that too, Hikigaya-kun," replied the older teen. Hachiman nodded in return and turned back to face the rim, ready to shoot his free throws.

It was halfway through the last quarter of the game between Kashiwai High and Sobu High. Despite Hachiman missing a lot of shots since that technical foul was called in the third quarter, he was also the one with most shots made since then as well. Sobu High managed to keep the game somewhat close and competitive for the entirety of the third quarter until the end of it, when Kashiwai High went on a run to end the session. Since Hachiman was tired due to playing a lot of minutes, he wasn't able to push himself every time his team was on fast break. The opposing team also noticed this fact and always had their players attack Hachiman on offense to make him expend more energy on defense. By the time the fourth quarter went halfway through, the score was already 94-58 with Kashiwai High leading.

Although he knew his team's fate was sealed in this game, Hachiman still only took a breather for two minutes at the start of the fourth quarter. Right after his break, he asked his coach to get back in the game. Even his coach asked him a few times if he was sure he wanted to be back in at this point of the game before finally relenting and subbing him back into the game. Once he was back in the game, he assisted his teammates on some of their layups and shots while making some free throws himself. Currently, Kashiwai High had their second string players on the court while Sobu had Kiba, Sato, Yamada, and Koji with Hachiman.

Sobu High's players were on defense as Kashiwai High were inbounding the ball at the half court since Yamada had tipped the ball out of bounds. Since Hachiman's man was the one inbounding the ball, he had to stay right in front of his opponent as he would inbound the ball. This left the two mostly by themselves with only the referee next to them as he held the ball. Hachiman noticed the inbounder shooting him a dirty look for a while before finally scoffing.

"Oh look. It's the flopper in front of me," he said loud enough so only Hachiman could hear him.

"Your friends still can't guard me," Hachiman replied to the teen, who only sneered at him.\

"Look at the score buddy," the Kashiwai High player fired back at him.

"Only if you agree to compare our individual stats in this game first…buddy," Hachiman responded firmly. It was obvious that the inbounder was seething but before he could retort, the referee blew the whistle and handed him the ball.

The inbounder safely passed the ball to one of his teammates before jogging towards the right wing. After he stopped with Hachiman in front of him, he immediately asked for the ball. Fortunately for him, his teammate passed the ball back to him and he instantly went into a triple threat stance.

"ISO!" yelled the ball handler with vigor in his voice. His teammates cleared out while Hachiman stepped forward a bit, accepting the challenge. The Kashiwai High player dribbled around a bit and almost lost the ball. However, he was able to retain control and drove to the rim with Hachiman resisting him. He stepped back at the last second and took a heavily contested shot over Hachiman's contest. The ball hit the rim and bounced around before finally falling in.

"Tch! All talk, no game!" The Kashiwai High player murmured as he slightly shoved past Hachiman on his way jogging back to defense. Despite the aggression being shown by his opponent, the dark-haired teen remained calm and waited until Kiba inbounded the ball to him.

Dribbling up the court, he noticed that the teen that had just made the shot over him slammed both of his palms on the court before getting into a wide and proper defensive stance. Hachiman used his non-dribbling hand to wave away his teammates as he approached the defense. Once he got near, Hachiman went into his dribble package of between the legs and crossovers. The defender only tightened his defense to make sure Hachiman had no space to operate. The Kashiwai High player even tried to reach in to steal the ball from the teen but was unsuccessful in his attempts.

After dribbling for a bit, Hachiman began driving to the left while facing intense resistance from his defender. He then stopped out of nowhere in his drive and pulled a behind-the-back from left to right. Right after, Hachiman instantaneously began to prepare for a shot. The defender reacted quick enough to jump up and contest the shot Hachiman was about to take. However, it turned out to be a fake as Hachiman crossed over from right to left again while his defender was in the air. Using the space he had just created, Hachiman began driving to the rim once again and made a left-handed layup over the center to finish the play. After scoring, Hachiman turned around to only stare at the defender he had just fooled after making eye contact with him before finally heading back to defense.

Once Hachiman was back in defense, Kashiwai High inbounded the ball once more. This time, the player that was trying to pick a fight with him was bringing up the ball. Hachiman moved up the court and pressed on defense against his opponent. Due to his ball handling skills not being good enough, the player was forced to pick up the ball right after passing the half-court line. While he tried to hold the ball away from Hachiman and waited for one of his teammates to help him out, Hachiman tipped the ball off of his hold and it went behind the Kashiwai High player. Hachiman wasted no time to go after it and was greeted with an open lane in front of him with only one player chasing.

Hachiman dribbled hard and quick as he sprinted towards the rim while the player that had just lost the ball tried to chase after him. Hachiman didn't think much as he drove to the basket and took off from the middle block on the left side of the free throw line. After slamming the ball with a two-handed dunk, Hachiman held onto the rim for a few seconds. The crowd was silent at the display as they watched Hachiman with his legs in the air. As he held onto the rim, his hanging legs 'mistakenly' hit the player that was chasing him on the fastbreak right before he landed back on the court. Hachiman never looked back at his defender as he turned around to make his way back to defense, a smirk vivid on his face if one were to take a look.

While getting ready to jog back, Hachiman felt two palms touch his upper back and push him. He only stumbled forward a few steps but never fell down to the ground. The teen turned around to see the Kashiwai High player glaring at him with hatred. While looking at his opponent, he also heard the rushing footsteps from behind him that were nearing the two players.

"Think you could mess with me like this, huh? You asshole? You think you're slick?" Before the teen could do anything, the referee appeared between them and stood in front of Hachiman while shooting the Kashiwai High student a reprimanded look. The Sobu High player looked past the referee's back to make eye contact with the aggressor before shooting him a smirk and slowly chuckling, enraging him even further. The player tried to go past the referee to try to fight Hachiman. Unfortunately for the raging teen, Kashiwai High's other players had already appeared near the two and made sure to hold their teammate back.

"You alright, Hikigaya?" Asked Kiba with a concerned look on his face as he put a hand on Hachiman's shoulder gently.

"I'm fine. Especially since now I don't have to put down a rabid dog anymore," Hachiman nonchalantly replied, making Yamada snort in response.

"Guess you'll be getting to shoot more free throws, hahaha…" Koji nervously added.

"If that person were to go any further, I think I might've done something I'd regret for a while," Sato added with a gentle smile on his face. Despite the gentle smile, Yamada, Kiba, and Koji shivered in fear at the ferocity and aura held behind the smile Sato had. Hachiman only nodded at his team captain, impressed by the change in his gentle nature, and then waited until he was called up to shoot his free throws once more.

An exhausted Hachiman was leaving the school building of Kashiwai High School after his teammates bid farewell to him. Despite being disappointed with the game's result, all of his teammates except for Kiyoshi congratulated him on his performance. Hachiman shook off their compliments since he knew that it didn't matter. Even if he did pretty well, his team ended up losing 100 to 66. He was able to peek at the stat sheet for a moment and remembered that he was the only one on his team that scored in double digits.

Hachiman Hikigaya: PTS: 37 REB: 8 AST: 4 STL: 1 BLK: 1 TO: 4 FG: 11/27 FT: 11/15 3P: 4/10 PF: 1

Even then, he believed that Nishimiya deserved a lot of credit in this game despite the loss and what the stat sheet showed. In his mind, Nishimiya was the only one who was trying to win the game until the last buzzer of the game sounded off. Hachiman himself had given up on hopes for a win a while before that. Realizing this, Hachiman thought that his respect for Hibiki Nishimiya had risen a lot.

"Onii-chan!" Hachiman was brought out of his musing as a familiar voice called out to him. Komachi was waving at him from up ahead with a huge smile on her face with Shizuka next to her. He wasn't surprised to see them together as they had been introduced to each other last week after he played his first game against Wakamatsu High. Hachiman wasted no time as he began making his way to the two. Komachi was about to jump on him to grab him in a tight hug but before she could do so, Hachiman raised his hand to stop her.

"I only wiped. Didn't shower yet," a look of understanding appeared on the girl's face at his explanation. It didn't take long to replace that expression with one of excitement right before Komachi began to speak again.

"Onii-chan was so cool in this game! He was making people fall to the ground and schooling them! Right, Hiratsuka-san?" The girl then turned to look at the older woman among the bunch, who nodded with a proud look.

"Hmph! Even if his team lost, my protege was destroying Kashiwai High's peasants out there! I even got some of the highlights on my phone to show you off to other teachers!" Hachiman sighed at the words from his teacher.

"Please don't. Plus, shouldn't you be on your way home to prepare exam papers?" The proud look that took over the Japanese Literature teacher's face was replaced with one of tiredness as soon as Hachiman made his comment.

"Onii-chan! You shouldn't say such things to your teacher when she is only complimenting you!" reprimanded Komachi with a pout on her face.

"Yeah yeah. And by the way, sensei, thanks for giving me a ride here once again," Hachiman replied. Shizuka's eyes went wide slightly before a warm smile appeared on her face.

"Of course. If I can't do even that much for my student, then what kind of teacher am I?" Answered the teacher happily.

"And just like last time, we'll take the train back home," Hachiman informed Shizuka, who nodded in return.

"Got it. Make sure to study for your exam, you hear me? Take care, you two," Shizuka bid her farewell before making her way back to her car. Komachi and Hachiman stood in silence at the parking lot and waved at Shizuka after she drove past them.

"Let's go home then, onii-chan! Then we can have dinner and then rest up for the weekend!" Komachi suggested with a grin on her face. Hachiman's face softened at his sister's demeanor. Suddenly, an idea greeted itself in his head.

"...Wanna grab a bite outside?" Komachi was surprised by the sudden offer but quickly nodded her head gleefully.

"Really? If so, then let's head home first quickly so you can take a shower," demanded Hachiman's sister. He sighed but nodded his head in affirmation to her demands.

"Alright. Let's do that and then make our way somewhere," suggested Hachiman before he began walking out of the parking lot. Komachi happily skipped her way and followed her older brother as the sibling duo left the property of Kashiwai High School.

The two siblings were walking through the busy and chilly streets of the town as they had just finished their meal. Komachi didn't hold back in the amount of Yakitori she had consumed today. Hachiman didn't eat as much as his sister but he made sure to be full. Despite his body being sore from just having played in the game against Kashiwai High, the teen didn't mind being outside with his sister. The joyful expression on her face as she ate and spent time with him was enough for Hachiman. Komachi was walking a few steps ahead of Hachiman as they walked by many different stores that were getting lighted up since the sky was already darkening.

While the two were walking in their path, Komachi suddenly stopped and turned around to look at her older brother, who had stopped himself as well. His eyes were glazed over with confusion but he waited for his sister to explain.

"Onii-chan! Let's grab a warm drink somewhere! It'll feel good and comfy!" she suggested excitedly. Hachiman understood why she was insisting on it. It was pretty chilly in the town of Chiba already, with Christmas not being that far away. In this kind of weather, a warm beverage would definitely feel comfortable.

"Alright. Let's do that, then," agreed Hachiman. Komachi gave a nod before a worried expression took over her face. Hachiman noticed that she was looking a bit down.

"Are you sure you aren't cold? It is pretty chilly here," asked Komachi with concern in her tone. Hachiman realized that she was talking about him wearing shorts in this weather. Unlike Komachi, who was wearing a black long coat and a pair of jeans, Hachiman had showed up with a white hoodie and a pair of khaki shorts.

"I'm fine. Let's go and enter one of the cafes nearby," Hachiman reassured his sister right before beginning to move once more. Komachi gave a nod before she joined him in searching for a cafe.

The two siblings wasted no time finding a cafe to enter in. Hachiman made sure to avoid the cafe that he had the misfortune of running into Orimoto in while they searched for a cafe. Once they got to their place, which was a medium-sized cafe named 'Satisfying Sips and Bites', Komachi and Hachiman quickly sat themselves on an empty table around far into the corner. Komachi excused herself to the bathroom once the two were seated at the empty table they chose. This left Hachiman to his own devices for a moment, who shrugged and took out his phone before getting busy checking it. Just as Hachiman's focus was fully captured by his cell phone, a familiar voice grabbed his attention away as it called him out.

"H-Hikio!?" Hachiman looked towards his left to be greeted with the surprised expression of Miura, who was donning a waitress' outfit.

"So this is what Ebina meant when she said you have a part time job…" murmured the dark-haired teen.

"Why would Ebina be talking with you of all people? Creepy eyes…" Miura whispered while shooting him a stinky-eyed stare, believing Hachiman never heard her words.

"Maybe I should speak to your manager? You're being awfully rude to a customer," Hachiman nonchalantly stated, prompting Miura to widen her eyes in alarm.

"W-Wait! I'm sorry! Please don't do that! It was very hard for me to land this job in the first place! Guess what? You can have one drink for free and it'll be on my tab…" all of the bravado seemed to leave the blonde girl, who now looked tamed and anxiously kept sending gazes in Hachiman's way.

"Don't worry. I won't tell a soul. But if you are insisting on a free drink ...I'll take one for my sister while I'll pay for mine," replied the First-Year student.

"Right…wait, your sister?" Miura looked confused while looking around the table, seemingly for another person.

"Yeah. She's in the bathroom right now. Come back once she does so we can order something together," Miura gave a nod before taking a few steps towards the empty chair in front of Hachiman and plopping down on it. Hachiman only looked at the blonde-haired girl in confusion at her actions.

"Don't worry. We barely get any people coming in around this time," a look of understanding appeared in Hachiman's face at her words. However, he was still confused why she was sitting across from him of all places. When Miura looked back at Hachiman, she understood his confusion and began to speak again.

"I guess I wanna apologize. I've been too mean to you without any reason. Even just now I said something that was unwarranted. Well, I-I guess there is a reason…" Miura looked away with a blush. Hachiman had to think for a bit and when the face of Hayama appeared in his head, he gave an understanding nod to Miura.

"Hayama, huh?" Miura looked at Hachiman with surprise at how fast he seemed to figure it out.

"How in the world did you get it that fast?" she asked.

"I'm just good at observing people," replied Hachiman stoically.

"And yeah, Hayato-kun has been disappearing out of nowhere from when we hang out after school sometimes. It's only to play basketball with you of all people. I'm afraid you're stealing Hayato-kun away from me…" an expression of disgust appeared on Hachiman's face at the girl's insinuations.

"Don't turn into another Ebina…" a chuckle escaped from Miura after hearing Hachiman's reply.

"Hina-chan has been saying how you are the 'giver' while Hayato-kun is the 'taker' whenever you two meet up. At first, I've been waving off her ramblings but now, I'm thinking there might be some truth to it. Especially when I saw the look of bliss on Hayato's face when you beat him in that basketball game," The blonde-haired waitress was surprised when she saw Hachiman gag in reaction to her words. She never expected someone like Hachiman, who came off as aloof and cold, to behave in such a way.

"Please stop…" groaned Hachiman. Miura only smirked at him after seeing him in such a vulnerable position.

"Or what?" she replied while smirking.

"Or else I'll beat the crap out of you," a third voice jumped in. Both Hachiman and Miura looked towards the direction of the voice to see Komachi, who seemed to be seething.

"What have you been saying to my brother to make him this uncomfortable?" the younger girl demanded while looking into Miura's eyes with ferocity. Miura, meanwhile, was surprised and unnerved at how Komachi was staring at her. She was also a little flabbergasted by the fact that this girl, who was younger than her, also revealed herself to be Hachiman's sister, who himself was pretty stoic and quiet.

"Komachi, wait. She's from my school," Hachiman intervened, making his sister look back at him with all of her anger replaced with fondness and concern.

"Onii-chan, she didn't hurt you in any way, right?" she asked with worry in her voice, to which her older brother shook his head with a sigh.

"Obviously not. This is Miura. She works here part time and she was…asking for help in the upcoming History exam for our class," Hachiman winced and internally berated himself for making up such a complicated reason. Komachi in return squinted her eyes at her brother for a few seconds before finally nodding.

"Y-Yep! Hiki-Hikigaya-san is very smart and one of the brightest students from all of the First Years. So he is the perfect person to help me out!" Miura added while throwing an incredulous look to Hachiman. Komachi didn't notice this and her doubtful look finally disappeared as she let out a huge sigh.

"And here I thought she was heckling you for no reason…" said the younger girl. Komachi then turned towards Miura and kept staring at her, seemingly waiting for her to do something. Miura finally realized why and her face reddened in embarrassment.

"S-Sorry!" She quickly got up from the chair, on which Komachi sat down. She then smiled and then looked at Miura as if nothing had occurred among them over the past minute.

"I was waiting until you came back so we can order together," Hachiman informed his sister, to which her smile became wider.

"Thanks, onii-chan! Let me take a look at the menu while you order first," she suggested, to which Hachiman agreed.

"Alright. I'll have…a Caramel Macchiato with extra sugar," Miura, who seemed to be lost in her thoughts for a moment, jumped up and nodded vigorously while writing it in her notepad.

"One Caramel Macchiato with extra sugar. Got it. What can I get you today?" She then turned back to Komachi with a professional smile on her face.

"I'll have a Hot Chocolate drink and a cup of Hazelnut Coffee, Miss Waitress," Komachi ordered with the same smile she had on her face since she had sat down. Miura's face was replaced with a scowl for only a split second before her own smile returned.

"Of course! Anything else?" When the two shook their heads, Miura finally turned around and headed back to the front to get the siblings their orders.

The Hikigaya siblings were at Satisfying Sips and Bites for a little under an hour. Once they were done with their drinks, they decided to head back home before their parents would finally return. When Hachiman went up to pay and Komachi noticed that he only paid for two drinks, she inquired about why he only paid for two. Hachiman then explained that in exchange for helping Miura study for the HIstory exam, he asked her to give them one drink for free. Understanding the reason, Komachi nodded and waited for her brother as he walked up to Miura, who had asked him to give her a moment.

"H-Hikio, seriously!? That was such a shitty excuse! Imagine if I actually didn't need help with studying?" Miura scolded him.

"I know and I agree. I apologized for that. Wait, what was the second part?" Hachiman was caught off when her last sentence was finally processed in his mind.

"You see, I actually DO need help with the History exam. And I wasn't lying when I said you are one of the top students in our year. So…for the free drink I gave, you have to help me study," Miura explained with a smirk on her face. Hachiman only groaned and kicked himself in the head yet again for making things so complicated for himself.
"Can't Hayama or Ebina help you? They are smarter than me or at least Hayama is for sure," suggested Hachiman. Miura's smirk was erased from her face and a sour look replaced it.

"Hayato has been telling us he's going to be busy on weekends for the next couple of weeks. Hina said she was busy going out of town tomorrow. Please Hikio! Help me or I might actually fail! It's so hard to study and work at the same time…" her sour look changed into one of worry as she kept rambling. Hachiman hated how her demeanor actually had an effect on him due to his 'Onii-chan' instincts.

"...Fine. This is the only time I will be helping you with this kind of thing. When do you want to meet? Before lunch or after school on Monday?" Hachiman asked.

"Wouldn't it be better if we meet up here tomorrow? My shift ends at two and right after, we can study right here," Miura explained. Hachiman however didn't agree and shook his head in refusal.

"The exam is on Tuesday. If we study on Monday, that means the material will still be fresh in your head. Plus after your shift tomorrow, you will be very tired and it will be difficult for you to focus when we study," explained Hachiman. Miura had a look of understanding but still seemed conflicted.

"But will there be enough time by then for me to know all that I need to know? Can't you come over here on Sunday?" the blonde-haired girl questioned.

"I can but I'd like to spend the weekend recuperating and studying by myself," Hachiman explained, which brought a look of guilt on Miura's face.

"Right. I'm sorry for bothering you. You don't have to help me study if you don't want to…" the girl said dejectedly. Her expression tugged on Hachiman's 'onii-chan' instincts once more and he hated himself for it.

"What you can do in your free time is go over the homework assignments and quizzes. Jot down important topics from them. Then on Monday, we will go over them and I'll help you study on extra stuff you'll probably need to know," the teen explained. Miura's eyes went a little wide for a moment before she gave Hachiman a bright smile.

"Even though you're my love rival, you are a lot nicer than you seem," Hachiman only groaned as his schoolmate chuckled.

"Alright. Sounds like a plan. By the way, give me your phone," Miura demanded while holding her hand out, confusing Hachiman.

"It's to put in my LINE contact," sighed the girl once she noticed Hachiman staring at her. A look of realization appeared on Hachiman's face and he took his phone out before hesitantly giving it to her. After a moment, Miura handed the phone back to its owner.

"Now you have my contact info. We'll see each other on Monday, I guess. I'll let you know by then if I want to study after lunch or after school. So until then, take care!" Miura grinned while waving at him.

"You too," Hachiman kept his reply short before turning around and walking back to his sister. Once he joined Komachi, the two walked back home peacefully on the clear night of this Friday at the town of Chiba.

*Hachiman Hikigaya slams in a huge dunk to cut the lead to 34!*

Ignoring that joke above, hope you guys enjoyed this new chapter.

Yeah. 8Man's team got cooked on this one. And it was a pretty bad loss considering the final score. But at least he showed up.

I included some sibling spending time with Komachi. And now Hachiman is making more friends, even if he hasn't realized it yet.

To help you guys visualize the OC players, I will write down below the characters that they kind of look like:

- Minato Sato: Kousuke Misaki from Tomo Chan is a Girl!

- Kiyoshi Koutarou: Chrome from Dr. Stone (with shorter hair)

- Koji Koutarou: Chrome from Dr. Stone (with longer hair)

- Asahi Yamada: Hideki Hinata from Angel Beats! (with black hair)

- Naoki Kiba: Akito Miyake from Classroom of The Elite (with dark brown hair and a slight stubble on his chin)

- Hibiki Nishimiya: Gin Dojima from Shokugeki no Soma (younger version with a buzzcut)

If there are any grammar errors or plot holes, please feel free to let me know via a review or a PM.

That's it for now. I'll try to make the next update ASAP.

Take care, y'all!
