Marinette can't believe that the mysterious Cat Noir got away from her last night. No one gets away from Ladybug until one does.
"Unbelievable, first thief to outsmart me," She said while lying on her bed.
She barely had a few hours of sleep until she had to be ready for school. She got a text from her best friend Alya last night about Ladybug unmasking Volpina who turned out to be Lila Rossi.
Of course, Marinette did try to warn her that Lila was a pathological liar and very talented at that to lie her way out of trouble. Especially nearly getting Gabriel angry for his brand to get criticized for having a female model like her.
Her text showed how sorry she was for not believing her in the first place. But Marinette wrote back that lying is a powerful superpower.
"Okay, time for school and maybe a little bap if possible. Chloe is surely gonna stick another gum on my seat again" Marinette climbs down and fixes her pigtails before she departs.
On her way, she kept thinking of Cat Noir. Unlike other criminals she faced, Cat Noir never harmed her at all like he didn't want to. Was he really a charmer or had he never fought in his life? She'll find out the next time.
As soon as she heads inside the school, she hears gossip about a new student arriving here and they all say it's that famous model boy in the fashion magazine ads. They all say he's sexy and handsome, and every girl wants him.
"What's this all about?" Marinette asked.
"It's Adrien Agreste. He's gonna start at our class" Alya said.
"The hot guy on the magazine covers?!" Marinette exclaimed.
"That's right. For the first time in public school," Alya nodded.
"Oh my gosh!" Marinette got excited.
The rest of the girls saw him making his entrance into school. They weren't kidding that he has the beauty of his late mother, the calm blond hair that shines like the sun, the apple green eyes glistening, the healthy skin of youth.
Marinette stared with her mouth open, Alya noticed and closed it, "Girl, you might want to save your mouth before you drool"
"Oops!" Marinette said.
Of course, a spoiled brat who is the mayor's daughter, she clings to the model boy, "Adrikins! So glad you came!"
"Chloe, I don't do hugs," Adrien said quietly before pushing her off since he was not interested in Chloe's affections, especially with her embarrassing him in public for the first time.
"I'm just happy you joined the same school as me," Chloe said.
"Yes, well, don't ruin my first day of school, Chloe" Adrien said, going to the principal's office to get registered.
After going through it, Adrien headed for the classroom. He sees Chloe putting chewed gum on an empty seat, "Seriously, Chloe? That's just gross"
"What? If you want respect, you gotta humiliate some to respect you" Chloe scoffed like it's not such a big deal.
"I don't think so" Adrien plucks it up.
"I came here to have my life filled with peace, not make enemies," Adrien said, knowing how his only childhood friend remained the same brat ever since her mother left for years and returned, it was always Chloe wanting to impress her mom by being like her.
"What are you doing?" Marinette saw him with the gum in his hand.
Adrien had no explanation to her since he couldn't speak up. This was his first day and yet it became rough to one day have someone think he's a bully.
"Well, were you gonna put that on my seat?" Marinette crossed her arms.
"No, I swear I wasn't!" Adrien tried to explain.
"Oldest trick of lies. First, you come here on your first day and now you want to make an enemy? I can't believe I thought you were innocent but a bully" Marinette gets in her seat.
"No, it's not like that. I was removing it from your seat" Adrien finally said.
"Hmph!" Marinette refused to believe him.
"See? That's how you learn my ways" Chloe cackled.
Adrien sighed and took his seat next to the red-cap boy. Obviously being homeschooled was worse than he imagined but public school wasn't that easy to begin with. Especially the lack of socialization around people he never met or talked to.
"So, you're friends with Chloe?" The red cap boy asked.
"Yeah, since my childhood," Adrien said.
"It's no wonder you've been homeschooled all your life. The name is Nino. Nino Lahiffe" Nino introduced himself.
"Pleasure to meet you, Nino," Adrien said.
"Same. But I didn't know you were friends with Chloe. You have no idea what she does in school" Nino warned him.
"What did she do?" Adrien asked.
"More than you could know" Nino whispered.
All day at school, it was a first step in socializing and being aware of who was friendly and who was not. Being new can be a challenge. Even the schedule was new for him to attend all classes. Even hard to ignore the gossip about himself too since it can be hard to resist for people to hear what they like to hear. Since he heard what Chloe had done, he began questioning his friendship with her. He had to be sure not to jump to conclusions without learning what it's like to be in everyone's place. Being famous doesn't mean being normal like everyone else. But he hoped the girl he removed the gum for would understand he had no bad intentions. Although it won't be easy since she had a long day getting bullied by Chloe, she doesn't want another bad mood affecting her again. So he decided to leave her alone. Maybe give her time to cool down until she feels ready to listen.
"I hope this doesn't get any worse," Adrien said.
"Adrikins!" Chloe ran and clung to him, "Can you believe you and I are so popular together?"
"Easy Chloe! You're drawing too much attention!" Adrien jumped.
"Exactly! To be popular is by attention" Chloe said.
Adrien groans angrily and pushes her off, "Does it look like I want to be famous? I did not sign up for this just so everyone loves my image. Chloe, there's a difference between loving a person and loving an idol. All you do is make people fear you to gain respect. You put chewing gum on the girl's seat and I get accused because of you. No, this is not popularity. This is an abuse of power that I can't stand. I cannot be friends with someone who treats people like this. We may have been friends for a long time but I was not raised to be famous or rich" Adrien told her off that this day had already been a bad day for him.
"So you care for Mari-trash, huh?!" Chloe pouted.
"Why are you so against her? I barely even know her. You have no right to humiliate someone like that. And so far, I have been humiliated because of you. All I wanted was a great day at school but because of you, you never let me be just me for my first day. I'm trying to move on from my late mother so I don't let grief ruin my life again. You don't care about me, you only care that I'm rich and famous for modeling" Adrien walks past her and heads to his bodyguard's car while Chloe just pouted like she cares less about how he feels.

Later that night, Cat Noir made sure his father was asleep so he could not get checked up all the time in his room. It bothers him a lot how his father no longer tells him goodnight anymore. Once it was clear, he ran on the rooftops. He hopes tomorrow is a better day, so he can try to be a normal boy rather than an image to everyone's eyes. And he sure hoped Marinette didn't hold a grudge at him. He made a few lessons to himself at school. Never get involved in Chloe's way to get caught in something he didn't commit.
"Okay, time to get into action" He saw Ladybug swinging while patrolling.
Smirking at how easy he finds her to think she can beat him in his robbery last night. Purring in delight to head in the opposite direction for a store to sneak in and steal. He soon came across a relic store and snuck inside. Using his manmade claws to circle the glass to unlock the door from the inside. Cat Noir then disabled the alarm system by cutting the wires.
The guard in the security room saw Cat Noir but in 2 seconds he disappeared off the cameras like he was superfast, "The hell?!"
He then tensed up by the paralysis technique by Cat Noir and he fell off the chair, twitching slightly but still alive.
"Sleep tight" Cat Noir typed in the code to turn off the cameras, "Coast's clear" He goes to look for any specific relic.
He soon eyed a cat statue that was standing there, so he took off the glass case to have a closer look, "Purrfect"
In reflex, he caught the yo-yo from behind, "Meow. Too slow to try to catch me, bug eyes"
"Pity I don't have a yarnball, kitty kitty" Ladybug appeared.
"Do you ever learn that cats and kittens are adorable?" Cat Noir threw her yo-yo back.
"They are but not as thieves," Ladybug said.
The feline thief chuckled and stayed hidden in the shadows, "Cats are thieves on the streets, milady. They eat mice for dinner like all the time. I don't eat bugs. I would if I ate a cute little ladybug to bring me luck than my bad luck"
"Right, Kitty" Ladybug circled.
"It's scary when I'm the apex predator of the city" Cat Noir circled too with his electric green cat eyes glowing.
"I'm not afraid of you," Ladybug said boldly.
"Everyone is afraid of something, bugaboo. I don't fear water or cucumbers like a scaredy cat. I got nine lives and I come back from the dead" Cat Noir chuckled and unsheathed his claws to stroke the glass display, "Bugs always get eaten every day"
"Try me" Ladybug dared him.
"I'm very dangerous and deadly, bugaboo. Not every day would I see a lady getting her perky ass whooped by big boys" Cat Noir snickered.
"Oh yeah?" Ladybug kicks at him.
He caught her ankle, "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Strong but still very slow. You do know propurr ladies never fight like that. Especially abusing a wild street cat" He threw her aside, knocking the vending machine.
"Urgh! So you wanna play rough? You got it!" Ladybug takes her yoyo out.
"I love a good catfight. Better watch my claws" Cat Noir jumps and lands on her shoulders to do a sleeper hold to fall down with her.
"Let go, you pussy cat!" Ladybug struggled.
"Meow, give up? Agh!" Cat Noir got elbowed in the gut before losing his grip on her.
"Not yet!" Ladybug got up.
Cat Noir flipped and hissed at her, baring his claws to be serious, "Stay out of the way"
"I can do this all night," Ladybug said.
"Way past your bedtime, milady!" Cat Noir engaged.
Ladybug managed to block several of his punches and elbows and blocked one of his kicks, "You call that a kick?"
Cat Noir pinned her against the wall and punched her gut to immobilize her, "I call that my bad luck. I'll say this one more time. Stay out of my way. I love my job in peace"
Ladybug groaned and looked up at him, "Thievery is still against the law, and a ticket to prison if your charges are too high for a life sentence" Ladybug glared.
"We shall see, Bugaboo" Cat Noir said.
"Stop calling me bugaboo!" Ladybug threw her yo-yo at him but he caught it.
"Then stop getting in my way. Like I said, I love my job as a thief. Unless you like taking away everyone's happiness for your pride" Cat Noir glared.
"Then reveal your face in the light and maybe I'll stop kicking your ass" Ladybug demanded.
"Then let's take it outside," Cat Noir said.
"Ha! I'm not falling for that old trick. Or are you scared of the light?!" Ladybug turned on the lights.
"No!" Cat Noir jumps on the railing of the lobby to hide his masked face being seen by her.
"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty! Come here!" Ladybug chased him.
He hissed at her before making it outside to the roof to run but Ladybug kept chasing him. What she didn't expect was his super agility to jump a huge gap to another roof building like a cat. So she resorts to swing after him.
Cat Noir heard her coming after him and he had an idea to trick her. If a nightclub is how to hide from her, music can be a distraction too. Especially when there are too many people partying and can't hear everything through loud music. So he went to the nearest one and snuck in.
Ladybug followed and was stopped by the guard, "Hello. I'm a hero and an important person. I'm a lady and I like proper manners too" Ladybug crossed her arms.
"Okay. If it is important then go search for your target" The guard said.
