Ami has come to realize she needs to go to the Moon Kingdom's library to research Metalia. However, when she calls on her friends, only Minako and Makoto are able to join who are both annoyed at each other. She, Luna, and Artemis believe that getting there is their best bet, but who will help them get there?

(Late Saturday Night)

By the time Mamoru had gotten home, Kun was already there sitting down next to Neph who was sitting on the couch flipping through news stations. "Have there been any indications that the Dark Kingdom has tried anything as of yet?" Mamoru asked when he walked into the living room after placing his keys into the bowl near the front door.

"So far nothing," Neph reported him, shaking his head.

"I'll take that as good news," Mamoru stated. He sighed realizing he had to tell someone, and he had memories of his past life confined in them. "I met Usako's parents tonight."

Kun and Neph smirked at each other, knowing the importance. Neph sat up and muted the television. "How did it go?" Kun asked.

"Her mother invited me to lunch tomorrow," Mamoru told them. He was still unsure how he felt about the invitation and also having to hold a conversation with her father who intimidated the hell out of him.

"Nervous?" Kun asked, hiding his amusement and holding back a grin.

"I did meet Usako's overprotective dad in the form of Kenji Tsukino," Mamoru said. He was still trying to figure out how he felt being scrutinized by her father and cared for by her mother all at the same time.

Kun froze, no longer amused, as he studied Mamoru carefully. "Did you say Kenji Tsukino?" he asked. "Brown hair? Glasses? Journalist?" Kun shook his head. "No, I am pretty sure he's an editor now."

Mamoru and Neph looked over at Kun, both of them giving him a curious look. "Yes," Mamoru answered. "Have you met my girlfriend's father?"

"I've met him and his wife, Ikuko Tsukino, a handful of times, and I will say they have a rock solid marriage," Kun answered. "I've also met his son…" He was searching his mind for a name, but it wasn't coming to him. "I can't think of his name."

"Shingo?" Mamoru supplied, only remembering his name because Usagi mentioned it to him tonight.

"Yeah, that's it," Kun said. "I've met him at least once, but I never had the pleasure of meeting Usagi until tonight." He thought for a moment. "I don't know why I didn't put it together. I was wondering why her name sounded familiar until you said her father's name."

"Well, we've all been brainwashed," Neph said. "Even all the names I know are still popping up in my head. Even now."

Mamoru understood what Neph was talking about. It had taken him a moment to remember Usagi's name too, and he had promised himself when he had been holding her, apologizing to her, he would never forget her name again, or how he felt about her. "Then add on the memories of our past lives and the people we knew then," he added. "We have a lot of catching up to do." He looked over at Kun. "How did you meet him?"

"He and my father have a work relationship. Knowing my parents, they would have asked him to look into my disappearance," Kun said as he threaded his fingers through his hair in frustration. He realized that there may be another problem. "If he knows that you go to K.O. University, he will question you."

"I feel like I'm already under interrogation," Mamoru said with a sigh, dropping into the closest chair. "Why not be even more under interrogation?"

Kun chuckled. "I will say that Mr. Tsukino does love his family, and Usagi holds a special place in his heart," Kun said. "I will agree with that."

"What do you suggest I do?" Mamoru asked.

Kun smirked at him. "I'm glad you asked," he said. "It's simple. Follow Usagi's lead. She knows her parents and what they can't and can handle."

(Sunday Morning)

The next morning, at Hikawa Shrine, Rei, in her miko clothing, sat in front of the Great Fire. She didn't know why she kept trying because she wasn't getting anything. It was as if she was blocked from having her visions.

When Rei heard the door open, she was not surprised to see that it was Yuuichirou who opened it.

"You're in here again?" Yuuichirou asked. Since Friday night, he knew she spent most of Friday night, yesterday morning before she left to God knows where, and last night in front of the Great Fire. It worried him.

Rei turned away from him as she couldn't help it. She was scared she was going to be up next, and she wouldn't admit it. She wanted some insight and a damn premonition, and nothing was coming to her. "Leave me alone," she told him.

Yuuichirou knew better as he knew that tone in her voice. Instead of doing what she asked, what she wanted, he did what she needed; without a second thought, he closed the door with him inside and walked over to her and sat down behind her. He had spread his legs, scooted closer to her, and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm not going to do that," he told her.

Rei closed her eyes and just let herself lay against his shoulder. She just let herself just feel Yuuichirou against her.

"This has gotten you worried, and I can't help but worry for you because I care about you, Rei," Yuuichirou told her. "Something is bothering you. It scares you, but you refuse to talk about it. Refuse to talk to me. Refuse to talk to your grandfather."

"Yuuichirou, it's complicated," Rei told him. "I can't tell you, but I hear you." She let herself lean against him. She wondered if she was closing her heart off from getting hurt again. She remembered Jadeite and her relationship. Passion didn't even begin to describe their relationship, but that man had made her laugh and think and hope. He knew how to handle her heat and couldn't even get burned. He knew how to calm her fire. With Yuuichirou, he knew how to steady her and her flames. He brushed off her flames like it was nothing. She felt safe with him. The differences between the two of them made it even more unbearable to pick or to figure out what she wanted.

"I'm here for you," Yuuichirou told her. "Whether you like it or not."

Before Rei could say something or rather shrug it off, they heard Rei's grandfather calling for them. "Yuuichirou? Rei?"

"I wonder what Grandpa wants," Rei said.

"I don't know, but we should go see what he wants," Yuuichirou stated. He stood up first and then helped Rei get to her feet.

Ami, Luna, and Artemis were at the park waiting for Makoto and Minako to arrive. She had also contacted Usagi who stated that she and Mamoru had plans with her parents that they couldn't back out of or her mom would have a few choice of words. When she spoke to Rei, she was informed that she had plans to sit in front of the Great Fire and hoped for a premonition. Ryo had also told her that he needed to catch up on studies and didn't want to fall behind, but he did promise her that if a vision came to him, he would contact her. Makoto had told her she couldn't be left to her own devices, and she needed to get out and not think about Neph. However, with Minako, she had wanted to spend time with Kun, but Kun urged her that it was her duty as the leader of the Sailor Guardians and should hear what Ami wanted to discuss.

While she was waiting, Ami was on her compact computer, but she could still feel the anxiety. She felt she had to present her information which is different from acquiring it. Even yesterday, when she was telling her friends about the Legend of the Two Crystals, she had felt anxious.

"You're just jealous!" Ami heard Minako say.

"Jealous?" Makoto asked, scoffing.

"I was able to tell Kun how I felt. I love him," Minako said, accusingly. "You could have done that with Neph while you told him to think about everything."

Ami, Luna, and Artemis sighed. "Are they really fighting about the men?" Luna asked. "The two they saved yesterday?"

"Luna, we're not supposed to be surprised about this," Artemis stated. "They're still teenage girls under everything."

"At least Ami has more sense," Luna said.

"Thank you," Ami said. "I think." Her own heart was in turmoil between Ryo and Zoisite, but she had to put it aside to find out more information about their enemies, Queen Beryl and Metalia. She had to do her duty as a Sailor Guardian.

"He's got a lot to think about," Makoto shot back.

"Did you not hear what Mamoru said yesterday morning?" Minako asked. "You didn't even tell him you love him."

Before Makoto could fire another response and regret what she would say, Ami walked over. "Okay, you two," she said. "That's enough."

"Ami, you don't want to get in the middle of this," Makoto stated, fuming at her and at Minako.

Ami looked over at Makoto. "You and I both know she's right," Ami told her, risking unleashing Makoto's anger. Before Makoto could say a word, she looked over at Minako. "And you and I both know she doesn't want to add to his guilt because he does feel guilty." She looked between both of her friends. "Kun and Neph both do, under everything."

"And we don't have time for this," Artemis added.

"We have other things to worry about," Luna finished.

Makoto gave Minako a side eyed look. "I'll table it if she does," Makoto said, knowing she was inciting Minako's anger.

"Why you…"

"Makoto, Minako, that's enough," Ami said slowly in a tone that she doesn't normally take, but one she knew that would make both of them listen. "Mako is much stronger than you, and you're upset because Kun told you to come with me to see what I wanted to discuss."

"He's forever placing Usagi and Mamoru above everything," Minako said.

"You're picking a fight with Mako because you're mad at Kun," Ami pointed out, remembering how he was in their past lives. She remembered how it would annoy her even in the past.

"And I hate myself for it," Minako said, thinking about how it annoyed her in the past. She pinched the bridge of her nose because she hated acting like this, in this way.

"Teenage girls are such work," Artemis muttered.

"What was that?" Minako said. She turned to glare at Artemis, both knowing she heard exactly what he had said.

Artemis hid his pained feelings and tried for innocence. "Uh, nothing," he said, which came out a mixture of both.

"It better be," Minako said, both knowing she had put him effectively in his place. She turned to Ami. "Kun's right though. We can't let the Dark Kingdom win." She was justifying Kun's thoughts and putting her feelings aside. Nobody was safe until Queen Beryl and Metalia had been defeated.

Ami looked over at Makoto who nodded to let her know she was ready as well. "What do you have?" Makoto asked.

Ami walked over to a nearby bench and sat down while the two girls stood and Luna and Artemis had hopped on the bench. "I was able to access the archive of what books are in the Moon Kingdom, but the problem is I can't actually do any research," Ami said. "Luna and I believe there must have been some sort of safety mechanism in case I had gotten compromised or had gotten separated from my compact computer." Ami wondered if that was going to be another lost memory.

"What do you need from us?" Minako asked, volunteering her assistance in taking down the enemy.

Makoto watched Ami as she explained. "You want to find the door that leads to the Moon Kingdom," Makoto said with understanding. "You want to get to the Moon Kingdom's library."

Minako saw the advantages of getting access to the library. "Is that even possible?" she asked. "Would they have closed the door to the Moon Kingdom down on this side?"

"That's something I don't have the answer to," Ami said. "I can't reach that memory. Something is blocking me."

"How have our memories from our past life been coming back anyway?" Minako asked.

"When something reminds us of it or we have a dream memory," Ami said with certainty though she believed that Usagi and Mamoru's memories were coming back quicker than theirs. She theorized it had to do with how strong their love and connection was to each other. "And I haven't had either." She sighed as it frustrated her. "It's frustrating that I don't have all my memories back. I think there might've been a safety mechanism, so I don't think Zoisite could tell me about it or rather be cleared to tell me about it."

"I wish there was a way we could get ahold of Kun or Neph and ask them," Minako stated.

"Kun would definitely know," Ami agreed, remembering how his intelligence rivaled hers and Zoisite's. "After all, Kunzite was the head of Prince Endymion's Shitennou Knights."

Makoto spied a pay phone close by. "Hold on," she said. "There might be a way to get him here." She walked, almost skipping, over to the pay phone, placed coins in the machine, and dialed Usagi's number from memory.

"Hello, Tsukino's residence," Ikuko said.

"Hi, Mrs. Tsukino," Makoto said. "It's Mako. Is Usagi still up or did she go back to bed after Ami called this morning?"

"Surprisingly, yes," Ikuko said with a sigh. "She insisted on helping me bake for this afternoon. I think she's nervous because I invited Mamoru to lunch and wants to make a good impression." Ikuko understood since Makoto had mentioned Ami had called she knew it was likely Makoto knew about the lunch invitation she had extended to Mamoru last night.

Makoto winced again as she loved to bake herself and knew the havoc Usagi could cause while baking. "Maybe you should put her on the phone to save anything that she might destroy," she suggested.

"Mako," she chided.

Makoto gave a nervous chuckle. "I'm mostly kidding," she said and then amended, "I think."

Ikuko laughed then knowing full well how Makoto felt about her daughter. "Usagi, phone!" she shouted.

"Who is it?" Makoto heard Usagi ask.

"Mako," Ikuko answered. "I can finish the cookies. You can clean up."

"Okay," Usagi said. "Mako?"

"Hey," Makoto said. "I have a quick question."

"I thought you were with Ami and Minako," she stated. After Usagi had received the phone call from Ami, she didn't have to make a phone call. She was informed, like the other Sailor Guardians, who would show up to assist Ami.

"I am," Makoto said. "We need to speak to Kun or Neph and run something by them. Do you have Mamoru's phone number?"

"Uh…."

"Usagi!" Makoto said, exaggerating the last syllable.

"Gotcha," Usagi said with a laugh. "Actually, Mamoru got my phone number from Rei this morning and called to give me his phone number." Usagi cleared her throat. "He would have given it to me last night, but his mind was elsewhere after he met my dad." Those had been Mamoru's exact words to her; though, he wanted to ask if her father would question him about Kun's disappearance. She was surprised about the connection and was surprised she hadn't put it together either, and knowing her father like she did, she was able to answer his question.

"Oh, God," Makoto said with a chuckle, knowing how protective he was over Usagi, really all of them. She would have loved to be a fly on that wall to witness Mr. Tsukino's reaction to Mamoru, and now she was thinking about it, maybe also Mamoru's reaction to Mr. Tsukino's. "I didn't even think of that, but can I get Mamoru's phone number? We need to have a theory confirmed, and we think Kun and Neph may be able to help."

"Sure," Usagi said as Makoto could hear a flipping of pages which she assumed was the address book next to the telephone. "I have it right here. Ready?"

Makoto took a small notebook out of her bag. "Ready," she said.

Usagi rattled off the number. "Got it?" she asked.

"Yes, thank you, Usagi," Makoto said. "If we find anything, we'll call and set up a meeting."

"Alright," Usagi said. "Happy hunting."

Makoto hung up as Ami, Minako, Luna, and Artemis walked over toward her just as she was hanging up the phone. "Who did you call?" Minako asked.

"Usagi," Makoto answered. "Mamoru thought to give her his number this morning." She scratched her head. "Though, I could have just called Rei to get it."

"Are we already forgetting that Rei dated him because of the way Usagi and Mamoru look so good together?" Ami asked, pondering the question she asked.

"Well, it's clear he certainly loves Usagi," Makoto pointed out. She thought about Friday night when Sailor Moon healed Prince Endymion; he certainly held her like a lifeline as he apologized to her.

"It's not just on his side," Minako said. She also thought about Friday night. She thought about Sailor Moon's tear of relief; she knew her friend shed them out of love for him.

"Usagi loves him back," Ami agreed. Though she certainly remembered when they always bumped into him. Now looking back on it, she now realized it was passion and attraction that made act that way and neither realized how they felt until Starlight Tower. Neither realized the other had feelings for the other until two days ago; even though, despite knowing their past lives, they love each other in this life.

The other two girls shrugged as they agreed with Ami's point silently.

Ami looked over at Minako. "You should call, Minako," she suggested.

"Me?" Minako asked, shocked. "Why me?"

Makoto just gave her a look. "I wonder why," she said with sarcasm.

Luna and Artemis shared a look. Teenage girls, indeed; though, neither of them had made a comment.

"Can someone just make the phone call, already?" Luna asked, starting to get annoyed.

Minako rolled her eyes. She took out her own wallet and put her coins in the machine. She took the small notebook that Makoto gave her and dialed Mamoru's number.

"Hello," she heard Mamoru say.

"Hey, Mamoru," Minako said, recognizing his voice. "It's Minako."

"Hey, Minako," he said.

Minako had a thought that she said his name to let the two other men know who he was talking to.

"What can I do for you?" Mamoru asked.

"Ami has a theory about the door to the Moon Kingdom," she told him. "Do you have any information on it?"

Mamoru sighed, and Minako knew, at that moment, a memory had unlocked for him. "That was more Zoisite's department," he told her. He paused. "Hey, Kun, Neph."

"Yes, sir?" Kun had responded.

"What do you remember about the door from the Golden Kingdom to the Moon Kingdom?" Minako could hear Mamoru ask.

"Do you mind?" Kun asked. There was a pause, but a moment later, she heard Kun say, "Minako?"

"Hey, Kun," Minako said.

"Are you looking for the Door to the Moon Kingdom?" Kun asked.

Minako and Ami's connected. "It seems that we are," Minako stated. "It may be a wild goose chase, but it's something we're looking into."

"Because of Metalia?" Kun asked, already knowing the answer.

"Yes," Minako answered. She didn't see the point in lying to him. "The more we know about her the better we understand her."

"Where are you?" Kun asked. "Neph and I will join you in the search for it." They were already getting tired of being cooped up even though it had been less than twelve hours and most of those hours they were sleeping.

"Would it be okay for the two of you to be walking around in broad daylight?" Minako asked. She wanted to say yes, but she did hear what Ryo had said. It worried her.

"In our transformations, we have the ability to disguise ourselves," Kun said. "Though you've never seen mine because I thought it was a waste of time. Now, I have a different opinion on it."

"That doesn't make any sense," Minako said.

"Monsters? Magic? Past lives where our memories are being unlocked? Villains who want to take over the world?" Kun countered. "None of this should make any sense, but it's our reality."

Minako sighed as he was indeed making his point to her very well. "Well, we're at Ichinohashi Park," she answered. "Near the fountain."

"I know where that is," Kun said. "We'll be there soon."

Minako hung up. "Kun and Neph are coming to help," she said.

"What about the fact they really shouldn't be seen?" Artemis asked.

"Kun told me in their transformations that they have disguises available for them," Minako answered.

Makoto started laughing as a memory had unlocked.

When they turned to her, they gave her a look of concern.

"A memory unlocked," Makoto explained. "When Nephrite came to the Moon Kingdom to fill his role as negotiator, as you know Jupiter and Nephrite shouldn't even have been together or even known each other, but they had made a rendezvous anyway. They were in an empty ballroom making out because the party was in another part of the castle. They heard a guard come in, and the next thing she knows Nephrite's a toddler dressed in pajamas."

"What happened next?" Ami asked, curiously.

"Jupiter told the guard she found the little guy roaming the castle looking for his mommy, got lost, and couldn't find his way back to his room," Makoto said. "She really played it up for what it was worth. She had promised the guard that she would personally take him back to bed." She smirked as thought about the look he had given her then.

"I think you mean Jupiter's bed," Minako commented.

Makoto ignored Minako's comment. "After she ragged on him a bit because he was so adorable in that form," she told them. "She had promised him she wouldn't tell anyone what happened."

"At least we know it's really a skill they have," Artemis stated.

"I guess we'll wait for them," Minako said.

xXx

Kun had hung up the phone. He turned to look at Mamoru and Neph. "I don't suppose you don't mind helping the girls in finding the door?" he asked Neph.

"Not at all," he said. Neph shook his head, thinking about their disguise ability, and then groaned.

"What's wrong with you?" Mamoru asked.

"Jupiter has first hand knowledge about that ability," Neph told them, not wanting to lie to Mamoru nor Kun. "Things kind of got out of hand once at a party at the Moon Kingdom."

"A memory unlocked for you?" Mamoru asked, curious about the memory. "So that answers another question about what else the Shitennou Knights will go through similar to the Sailor Guardians."

"I suppose so, sire," Kun said.

"Kun, please call me Mamoru when I am in this form," Mamoru said and then turned to Neph. "Same for you."

"Alright, Mamoru," Kun said, testing it out. Though he never stopped looking at Neph. "Kind of got out of hand?"

Neph shrank under Kun's hard gaze.

"What kind of got out of hand, exactly?" Kun asked in an authoritative tone, knowing that was the tone he typically got answers from Nephrite in their past life.

Mamoru was also curious about what had happened, but he remembered what Kunzite was like in their past life. Though he didn't say anything.

"Towards the end of a party while Nephrite was at the Moon Kingdom, Jupiter and Nephrite had found an empty ballroom and things could have gotten hotter, but the door to the ballroom had opened," Neph confessed, knowing they would understand what he was getting at.

Mamoru and Kun shared a look, both knowing that this wasn't going to be the best part. "What happened next?" Mamoru asked.

"Nephrite's first instinct was to use his disguise ability to turn into a toddler," Neph said, starting to blush. "That's not the worst part. Jupiter came up with a whole story that he was looking for his mom and got lost in the castle."

At this point, both Mamoru and Kun were laughing, nearly in tears. They knew what kind of spitfire Sailor Jupiter was in the past.

"It's not funny," Neph said, being very insistent. "She had even told the guard that she would take him back to bed personally."

"I think you mean it was Jupiter's bed," Mamoru stated.

Neph crossed his arms. "After they got back to her room, she ragged on him even more," he stated, pouting.

"She cleaned up your mess," Kun said, starting to calm down. "That could have been worse, and you should have known better."

Mamoru looked straight at Neph as he realized something that Neph hadn't. "What are the odds that Mako also had that memory unlocked?" Mamoru asked, pondering out loud.

Neph paled. "She promised she wouldn't say anything to anyone about it," he said.

"Not necessarily. Sometimes the whole memory doesn't come until we say it out loud," Mamoru pointed out. He was well versed on how the memories of their past life had come back to him. He had fractured memories, but once when spoke to Usagi out loud about them, the memory was coming back to him more clearly.

Neph groaned again, realizing Mamoru was right.

Kun chuckled, enjoying Neph's reaction and picking up where Mamoru left off. "I think that's punishment enough," he said, pleased with Neph's reaction. "You better hope that she hadn't told Minako or Ami, or this day could get really awkward for you."

"Kun…"

Kun looked over at Mamoru. "You've seen first hand how these girls operate," Kun said. "They are friends first, then Sailor Guardians."

Mamoru sighed, realizing Kun was right. "They were like that in the past as well," Mamoru said, but he understood what Kun was stating. "We'll get there. The girls have had months to get where they are. We have only had less than a day."

Kun nodded. "Well, I'd rather be helping than being cooped in here," he said. He didn't know why, but he knew he had to open his right palm and the piece of Kunzite had appeared on his palm. "Kunzite Power, Make Up!" In a flash of purple and white, Kunzite was in his Shitennou Knights uniform.

Neph did the same thing, but he had shouted, "Nephrite Power, Make Up!" In a flash of dark green and yellow, Nephrite was in his Shitennou Knights uniform.

"Well, that worked," Kunzite said, impressed.

"I use a rose to transform into Tuxedo Mask," Mamoru stated. "I don't even have to say anything." He didn't know why that bothered him. He knew he had one, but he didn't have to say it.

"That's a weird thing to be jealous about," Nephrite stated.

"Tell me about it," Mamoru said. "I would be assisting you with locating the door instead of having lunch with Usako's family." He was still worried about his reaction to Kenji now that he has had a chance to process what he wrote about a young boy who had lost parents and dating his daughter.

"Mamoru, Mr. Tsukino is a good man who loves his family," Kunzite said. "Just show him that you want her to be who she is, then he'll be okay with you."

"Thanks for the pep talk," Mamoru said. "It would be so much easier if we could just tell them everything."

Kunzite stared at him. "That's an option we never thought of," he said, "but we'll table that until we talk to everyone." He looked over at Nephrite. "Know what you're going to use?"

Nephrite nodded. Within seconds, he looked very similar to Neph, but he took on the aspects of Nephrite. It was a perfect balance between the two.

"You look like you, but you also look like him," Mamoru said. "Not bad." He looked over at Kunzite. "Is that your thought too?"

Kunzite nodded, and within seconds, Kunzite also looked like the combination between the two. "So now let's go help the girls." He walked toward the door and walked out with Nephrite right behind him.
