Chapter 5: Broker

At the mental health facility, Sheldon found Amy in a small, sterile room. Her eyes were vacant, and she spoke in hushed, fragmented sentences.

"Mommy, you're here," she murmured, her voice soft and repetitive. "We need to get ready for school. Don't forget his lunch."

Sheldon approached cautiously. "Amy? It's me, Sheldon."

Amy looked at him with a blank expression. "Who are you? I'm waiting for my son. He needs me."

Sheldon's heart broke at her response. "Amy, it's me. We've been through so much. Our son… he's gone."

Amy shook her head, confusion clouding her eyes. Trying to find herself busy. "No, I have to take care of him. He's here. He's with me."

Sheldon felt a wave of despair. He realized that Amy was trapped in a delusional world, unable to remember him or the reality of their situation. The therapy and treatment focused on stabilizing her condition, but the road to recovery was uncertain.
