Hey guys! The last chapter of Wild Born will be posted next Friday, and there will be 13 chapters. Yes, there are more than that in the actual book, but some of them were really short so I chose to combine them.

Thank you to the guest who has been commenting on this, I really appreciate it! I'm planning on only posting once a week for the re-write stories, just to make sure I have enough time to get the books written and still have time to procrastinate.

I have taken notes on the chapters (key points from the chapters so its easier for me) up through the end of book 4 Fire and Ice.

I have gotten the third chapter of book 3 blood ties written.

It was only by a very skillful dive that Tarik avoided getting mauled by the ginormous ram. He landed on his feet, barely, and released Lumeo in a flash of light. Beside him, Barlow did the same with Jools. Of course the Four Fallen were already out and Nicolai and Monte had let Diata and Scrubber accompany them on foot. There was another rustling in the bushes and people came pouring out of them. Almost at once the calm oasis was filled with tons of people and animals. The Conquerors had arrived.

"This wasn't a trick!" Tarik called to Arax desperately. "These are the people we told you would be coming after your talisman!"

The great ram made no effort to respond to Tarik, more interested in stirring up a storm. Abeke then lost sight of Tarik as Zerif approached her.

"So we meet again, Abeke." Zerif spoke with a barely contained sneer. "I feel like I should take this opportunity to try and convince you to join me."

"That'll never happen," Abeke spat at him.

Zerif nodded, a cruel smirk on his lips. "No, I suppose it won't. I don't think green suits you."

"That's none of your business!"

With a snarl, Uraza leapt towards Zerif, only being stopped by the man letting his jackal out of passive state. As the animals fought, Zerif approached Abeke, his sword ready. Abeke backed up a few steps, clutching her bow tightly. She was an amazing shot, of course, but bows were meant for long range attacks, not the brawl that she was about to be occupied with.

Before she could panic any more than she already was, Nicolai pushed her aside and charged Zerif with his own sword. "Try to get to higher ground, use your skills!" He shouted at her. "Or try to find the talisman."

Abeke nodded and began jumping from one rocky ledge to another, gaining ground. As she moved she could see her side putting up a fairly good fight. Tarik was fighting with another conqueror, near Arax. Lumeo was in a heated fight with the spirit animal of one of the conquerors, a beaver. Nicolai was a near perfect match for Zerif, and Diata was fighting with Uraza against Zerif's jackal and another large cat. Barlow and Monte were fighting back to back, in perfect sync as they pushed back the conquerors near them. Jools and Scrubber were also a formidable pair as they fought against Arax.

Conor had his ax in his hand and was hacking at a conqueror that was at least two heads taller than he was. Briggan was right by his boy's side, matching him blow for blow against a spirit animal that belonged to the other side. Abeke couldn't see Rollan, but Essix was happily distracting the archers of the other side, so Abeke figured that he couldn't be in too much trouble. Meilin was, once again, a flurry of fists and her quarterstaff, anyone who came close to her regretted it quite quickly. Jhi wasn't attacking as much as she was doing something to cause her opponents to fall asleep.

There was enough going on, Abeke decided, that she wasn't needed in the battle and could spend her time searching for the talisman. After a long minute simply observing the oasis battlefield, Abeke spotted a gray box, nearly the same color and texture as the stone crevice that it was contained in.

Uraza suddenly looked up at Abeke and the girl could feel the additional power the leopard was giving her. She ran along the ledge and when she reached the end of it, she launched herself at the crevice.

A strong wind blew, along with what sounded like Arax yelling something about the talisman, but Abeke made it safely to the box. Opening it, she revealed a granite carving of a ram, attached to a thin iron chain. Another gust of wind blew, nearly knocking Abeke out of the crevice.

She was running out of time, the ledge below the crevice, where her feet were resting, was getting more and more wobbly. With haste, Abeke draped the talisman around her neck and launched herself from the ledge and towards the path of ledges she had used to get there in the first place. Abeke had no idea what powers the talisman would give her, and she couldn't feel anything until she had leapt. Whatever jumping power Uraza could have given her, was increased fourfold.

When she returned to the flat ground in the middle of the oasis, she could see the only conquerors left were dead or severely wounded. The rocky ground was covered in blood. The only fight still going was Jools and Scrubber against Arax, and that didn't last much longer.

Jools scratched Arax hard, leaving deep claw marks on the ram's face before the ram pushed the grizzly bear from the cliff they were fighting next to. At the last possible second, Scrubber jumped from his perch on the bear and landed safely on the rocks.

With a howl of agony, Barlow launched himself at Arax. And, with what had to be a final burst of strength from Jools, the former Greencloak pushed the ram off the cliff as well. Unfortunately, he was unable to stop his momentum, and fell as well.

After Arax and Barlow had fallen, they all took a few minutes to deal with the shock of what had happened. Then Abeke held up the Granite Ram and Tarik gave her a wane smile and hushed words that she had done well.
