Negi smiled. "Just watch, please," he told her, and then he and Quartum charged at each other.

Evangeline watched them fight, and impressive as the battle was, she couldn't see anything that Negi was doing that wouldn't fit her teachings.

Until Quartum was defeated, and he exploded into a lot of coins that Negi began picking up.

"Oh," Evangeline understood. "That part!"

Biography:

Mc Dowell was born in Scotland, during a winter of the period of the Hundred Years' War (from 1337 A.D. to 1453 A.D.). She says she lived as the ward of a lord in his castle during her childhood, implying she might have been born from royalty.

When she woke up on her tenth birthday, she discovered that she had been turned into a vampire while she slept. Driven to insanity by her just found bloodlust, she massacred those around her in a frenzy and fled. After wandering erratically for some undetermine period of time, estimated to be lenghty, she was found and 'adopted' by the Witch of the Rift, Dana Ananga Jagannatha, who taught her to control and properly develop her vampiric powers; but the rebellious Evangeline was never comfortable with her tutelage and escaped her to live her life in her own terms.

Some time later, after crossing paths with enemies who put a bounty on her head, Evangeline fought and defeated another immortal, Ish Karin Orte, who fell in love with her and followed her even though her feelings weren't returned. They fought the demon lord Baal and Karin was sealed in a tree for three hundred years, leaving Evangeline alone yet again.

More centuries went on, and Evangeline walked the Earth, feared by all as a boogeyman figure. During a vulnerable time she was saved from falling off a cliff by Nagi Springfield, the Thousand Master, a mage who followed his own way and answered to no one.

Evangeline fell in love with Nagi, although she wouldn't admit it, and Nagi already was in love with Princess Arika Anarchia Entheofushia, so he refused her advances. An enraged Evangeline fought Nagi and was defeated, with Nagi binding her to Japan's Mahora Academy until she turned a new leaf. Fifteen years later, Nagi's son Negi became a teacher at Mahora, and Evangeline went after him, reasoning that sucking his would might break the spell linking her to the school. Negi and his allies barely defeated Evangeline and she reluctantly agreed to become his teacher in magic, developing an eventual affection for the boy.

When an adult Negi disappeared in a fight with Ialda Baoth the Mage of the Beginning, Evangeline looked after his legacy. She also raised Negi's clone Konoe Touta as her own son, and eventually Touta freed Negi and Evangeline herself from the evil clutches of Ialda.

In another and happier timeline, Negi defeated Ialda with assistance from Kagurazaka Asuna, and Evangeline married the now-available Nagi.

Beyond being limited to establishing laboratories, workshops, or even temples, Evangeline is well able of creating whole pocket dimensions to set her leisurable fortress resorts in. These are virtually inaccesible for enemies, who need strong anti magic measures to break into them.

She is second only to her master Dana in this department.

For her, it is easy to create magic wands and other such items for her students.

Evangeline is also a master at brewing and designing potions. Some of them are useful in the battlefield, such as explosive formulas, and some others are to toy with the emotions of others, including love potions effective even against Servants with Magic Resistance ranked B++ or below it.

As revealed during the Mahora Martial Arts Tournament hosted by Chao Lingshen, Evangeline is a skilled martial artist, since she made sure about learning self defense for the days when she was powerless.

She resorts by default to a mixture of Aikido and Morihei Ueshiba, but she also knows moves from several other martial styles.

She is also a skilled swordswoman, creating swords made of ice from the air's humidity to fence.

Evangeline is a shinso, or daywalker, vampire. As such, she posesses regeneration of the highest observed degree. Fighting efficience is possible ever while sustaining damage amounts that would be lethal, and the magic reserves don't deplete from it, but from the Master's mana decreasing.

She flies at high speeds, especially during full moon nights, and she always finds her way through the darkness, with a radar sense akin to a bat's.

High Speed Ancient Magical Words: A+

While she needs an incanted activation to unlock her full powers, Evangeline can use magic quickly with little to no elaborate invocations.

Her best and faster spells gravitate around the element of ice.

One of Evangeline's ultimate spells. It was used several times to dispose of bounty hunters after her trail, but her best known usage is that of destroying the ancient 'demon god' Ryoumen Sukuna no Kami, summoned by the rogue Amagasaki Chigusa in Kyoto.

By casting that Noble Phantasm, the surroundings are entirely frozen in temperatures below the absolute zero (0K/0°R/−459.67°F/−273.15°C). Superconductivity, impossible under any normal circumstances, is achieved, as well as a breakdown of her target at the atomic level. The transgression of the Laws of Thermodynamics reached through this spell demands an incredible amount of magical ability.

The enemy is encased and stopped in pillars and spikes of ice. Depending on the wording of the Noble Phantasm by Evangeline, the target is either shattered into pieces should she choose to finish the spell with a "Brich bah!" ("Break!") and a snap of the fingers, or instead encased in a pillar of ice, their ultimate fate left at the mercy of Evangeline and her Master at the time.
