Here is chapter 19. this will be more a filler chapter. Not really anything going on. We will see Eragon and his mother meet, so for anyone waiting on that, it will happen.

Arya slipped out of her's and Eragon's tent. He was still asleep and she didn't want to wake him. She looked around and saw the dwarfs around a fire talking. She noticed it was just about dark and figured Eragon and her slept more than 4 hours.

Walking towards the fire she saw Orik among the dwarfs.

"Orik."

"Ah Arya, I see you finally have risen from your slumber."

"Yes, I see it is late. How long did we sleep?"

"Around 8 hours, we would have woke you up after 4 but Blodgham said to let you sleep. He said all the critical cases had been taken care of and they could help the Varden's healers."

"Very well, Have you seen the dragons?"

"No, last I talked with Brom, He said they were going far enough away so that not to scare any game away. If Eragon is up, Brom would like to speak with him."

"He is not but I should wake him so he can eat. Is Brom at his tent?"

"No, he is with the villagers."

Arya left to wake Eragon, but he walked out the tent before she reached it. He like Arya saw it was passed the time they wanted to wake up.

"Blodghram told Oric to let us sleep. All the more serious injured were healed. He said that he and the elves could handle it. Also the dragons are all still out hunting."

"They must have gone far if they are not back by now."

"Yes leaving the closes hunting to the Varden. I am hungery and I am sure you are as well, lets get something to eat."

"When we get back, your father wants to speak with you. Orik did not say why."

"Probably about him joining the elves or my mother. Could be both."

Arya took his hand and lead him to the dinning tent. When they arrived there were only a few people eating. probably those who had ben working. They got their food and found a table they could sit twards the back of the tent.

They had been there about 10 minutes when Eragon notice Blodghram and some of his elves come in. He reached out with his mind to the elf. Blodghram looked their way and the elves joined them.

"Blodgham, have you and the others gotten any rest?"

"We have. Wyrden and his group are helping now. All those who need healing should be healed soon."

"That is good to hear, Thank you for helping."

"It is of no consequence. We were glad to help."

"All the same thank you."

"Your welcome."

They all sat and ate with little talk, Eragon could tell the elves were tired, not that they would say so. He wished they had woken him so he could have taken on some of the healing but was not really surprised they didn't.

When they arrived back to their tent, Eragon notice a light in his father's tent and headed that way. He knocked on the pole and entered when Brom called out.

"Father."

"Ah Eragon, sleep well."

"Yes, longer than I expected. No suprised though. You wanted to speak with me?"

"Yes, I will be leaving the day after tomorrow. Heading to join Oromis in the north. Hopefully we can arrive before they leave the woods."

"I have not spoke to the Queen today. Nor has Arya. So I do not know at this time if they have started preparing to take Ceunon."

"It will take about 3 or 4 days to reach them since I can not fly strait north. I will contact you when I arrive.

Have you thought about speaking to your mother? She has wanted to talk with you since the battle ended"

"I plan on speaking with her tomorrow. I imagine that Nasuada and King Orin will want to talk about what is next."

"They wanted to meet alread, well nasuada did but everyone was tired and Orik would not let them wake you."

"I will speak to her tomorrow. There is something I need you to do before you leave."

Eragon explained about Elain's pregnancy and the birth of her daughter. He explained that Arya and the other female elves could have eased the birth had Gertrude and others not spoke agains the elves. He explained that the baby also had a catlip. He told his father he was able to heal the baby and she was accepted in the villiage.

"I can see with Elain's age how it could be difficult. I will speak with her and Horst tomorrow. I think the time the two of you spent staying with them will help."

"I would warn the other's I will not put up with the villiagers speak out against Arya and the others."

"I will explain that to Garrow and Horst. They will handle the villiagers."

"I will let you get ome sleep old man. Arya and I are going to take a walk around the camp."

"See you tomorrow."

With that Eragon left. Brom turned in for the night. Eragon and Arya spent the next couple hours walking and enjoying each other's company.

As expected, Eragon was asked to meet at Nasuada's tent for a meeting. Arya and Blodghram went with him. While he was at the meeting Brom headed to speak with Horst and Elain. He found them outside their tent with Garrow and Selana.

"Brom, what brings you by?"

"I was hoping to speak with you. I haave some concerns about Elain and her pregnancy."

A worried Elain asked."Do you think there is something wrong?"

"No, my concerns are your are. While human woman do have children at your age it is not common and there are risk. On top of that you have had to travel long and hard."

"Do you know a way to make it easier. I don't beleive you would come to us unless you had a solution."

"I do, one that you may have concerns with."

"Spit it out Brom." said Garrow.

"The elves have a birthing song. No magic is used but when they sing it, it helps the birth. They sing it in the ancient language. Even if you and the baby don't understand the words it will help you relax and the birth to go smoother and fast. Elves don't have many children bt when they do the birth taked no more than 30 minutes."

"You believe this is what we should do?"

"I do Horst. It will be a lot less stress on Elain. Also if there are any medical help needed the elves or even Eragon will be on hand to help. I know what people believe about elves. They believe elves swap human bablies out with changlings and other nonsence."

Elain looked at her husband. "We got to know Arya a little when she and Eragon stayed with us. She never really said much but I do not believe she would do us or our baby any harm. We will send for her and any of the elves she needs to help with the birthing."

"I will let her know or you can later. She is with Eragon at a meeting at the moment. They will both be by here later." Brom turned to Selena. "He is coming to speak with you."

"I am glad, I would like to get to know my sn and his friend."

"Just don't try to hurt him and you will be fine."

Elain explaned what happen when Ronan hit Eragon. She also told of the looks she gave Katrina when she hugged Eragon.

"So they are together?"

"I don't know if they are mates but they are together." Brom expained how elves fue to their long lives take mates.

E/A

Eragon was listening to the plan of action that Nasuada and Kink Orin had come up with. They wanted to march on Feinster a soon as possible. Then once it was secured then march on Belatona. While the main army was doing this, smaller forces will secure Melian and Aroughs. Eragon listen for a bit before he voiced his thoughts.

"Your Magisty, Lady Nasauda, may I make a suggestion. This is not a race. I know you would like to finish this before the next freeze but to do so could streach your forces to thin and wear your troops out. This could cost lives.

I would suggest while we are recooping here that if you can muster a large enough force, take Melian now. While we are close. Then once you secure it than we can march to south of Feinster. Stay far enough south that hopefully they don't know where we are or that we plan on marching on the city."

"How can we do that? By now Lady Lorana must know we intend to take her city."

"Arya and I visited several cities before joing up with the Varden and the Dwarfs. I believe we can take Feinster will little boodshed."

Nasuada spoke next. "How? Surely they will fight. Lady Lorana would not still govern her city if she was not loyal to Galbatorix."

"Her loyalty is to her people and its her they gave their oaths to. He has had to take an oath to follow Galbatorix but has no true loyalty to him."

"If we could capture her and have her surender, them we could have her order her soldiers to lay their arms down." Arya told the group.

Lord Dathedr asked, "surely it will not be that easy?"

"No, Galbatorix is sure to have his magicians in the city. We will need to take them out as soon as possible. If we don't there is no telling what trouble they will cause.

Back to what I was saying, once Melian is secure, we head back into Surda and head towards Dauth. We cross back into the Empire north of Dauth. While part of the army secures Aroughs the rest moves north to just south of Feinster."

"That will add time and strain our resources more."

"Send out raiding parties. They can raid suppy trains that are ment for Furmost, Melian, Feister, and Aroughs."

"That is a lot of area to cover." Nasuada commented.

"Not if we have troops from Cithri and Petrovya do the raiding in the east. Once they secure the supplys, than they can send them on to use. Have your and my companies concentrate on the western areas." Orin suggested.

One of the Captains asked. "What of Furnost, will we not need to take it."

Orin spoke again. "The force we send to Melian can the march to Furnost. I can always reinforce it from either Cithri or Petrovya."

They spent the rest of the morning discussing which troops will march on Melian and Funost. They also talked about how large of a force will be needed to take Aroughs. Both the dwarfs and Urgals said they would send troops ith each group. That lead to discussions about humands not trusting Urgals. Eragon suggested finding someone who could work with them to lead a joint raid or two.

E/A

Eragon and Arya arrived back at their tent. "I know these meetings are necessary but they are tiring at times also."

"They are but I believe that things will go better this way."

"Yea, it helps Orrin is more cooperative."

They stepped in their tent and Arya turned to Eragon. Taking his hands in her's "Yes because you saw to that he was included. The way you told us, the last time Nasuada pretty much took over and never consulted with others."

"In the end he spent a lot of time drinking and of was of little use. Ajhad may have been preparing Nasuada for this role her whole life but he never explained or she never listened about her place in the larger world."

"I would say did not listen. We have the afternoon to ourselves."

"I know but I still need to speak with my mother."

"You need to clear the air. She will be a part of your life for a while now."

Eagon reached his mind out to Saphira 'Where are you at?'

'I am with your family.'

'OK, Arya and I will be there shortly. We just finished with the meeting. I need to contact the queen and than we will be on our way. Or if she rather meets me here so we can talk more privately, that is fine also.'

'I will ask.' A couple minutes later Eragon felt Saphira 'Brom and her will be there in 10 minutes. Will that be enough time?'

'Better make it 20.'

'Very well Eragon.'

"Fernin explained to me. I will let Blodghram know so we will not be disturbed." Arya left the tent while Eragon contacted the queen.

When the image came forth,Eragon could see Islanzadi looking over a map. "Your Majasty."

Islanzadi looked towards her mirror. "Eragon"

Eragon and the Queen exchaned the elvin greeting "I have news. Arya and I just left a meeting. I'm sure Lord Dathedr will give you a detail recap of the meeting but I wanted to let know know that I have convince them of a more conservative aproach for the next stage of the war. The way they were looking at going forward would have spread them too thn and cost more lives.

Also Brom will be leaving in the morning to join you. It will take him a few days since he is taken the long way around."

"That is good to hear. We are currently just inside of Du Weldenvarden close to Ceunon. We will wait for him to arrive. Hopefully with two dragons we can get them to surender with less loss of life."

"I will inform him. I am meeting with him and my mother when we are done here. What plans do you have after taking Ceunon?"

"We will secure Palancar Valley. With no troops there thay we know of, it will take little time. Brom will be a great help in speaking with the town of Therinsford."

"They like the villagers of Carvahall never cared for the Empire."

"After that we will secure the towns of Yazuac and Daret."

Arya walked in at that moment. "Mother." turning to Eragon. "They are here."

"Go Eragon, heal your family. We can talk more later."

Eragon said his fare well and ended the magic. He turned towards Arya. She stuck her head back out to let Brom know they could enter. She then stood back next to Eragon holding his hand.

When Selena walked in, she saw two individuals. It took her a second to recognize them because they look different.

"Eragon, you are the one I met in Teirm?"

"Yes, I was not ready to have this conversation, and it was not the time and place. Too much was at stake at the moment."

"I understand."

Sit we have much to talk about."

Just a filler. One of the things I set up for in this chapter was Hope's birth. It never sat well with me how Arya and the elves were treated when they went to help with the birth. Horst and Elain know Arya beforehand, and I feel they would be more incline to except more help from her. Eragon just decides to make sure there will not be a repeat of last time.

Eragon does meet with Salena, and she learns she has already met him. I will probably not write how the meeting goes but may do a flash back to parts of it later.
