Chapter 9
The end of Lexas second shift was coming to an end. She felt like she was starting to fit in. Everyone was welcoming, even more so after she pulled Bellamy out of the fire. The only person who she had any trouble was, if you could call it that, was Finn. He just seemed to be pissed at her for interrupting him the previous evening. She wasn't worried. She knew he would get over it soon. Or at least she hoped he would.
Lexa was just at her locker. She'd just finished changing out of her uniform and into her jeans and hoodie. She was looking forward to getting out of their and viewing the house she'd seen the previous day. She made her way to her office and was just throwing her leather jacket on when Clarke appeared in the door way.
"Hey." Clarke smiled.
"Hi." Lexa smiled back.
"So, if I'm not mistaken, you're viewing a house this morning? Did you still want me to come along?" Clarke queried. Secretly hoping Lexa said yes.
"Oh!" Lexa said surprised Clarke remembered her even asking after everything that happened over shift. "Yes, I am. Um yes, if you'd still like too?" Lexa asked shyly. Clarke smiled again, saying she'd love to. "Great, give me your phone?" Lexa asked and Clarke obliged. "This." She stated, handing the device back to Clarke, "Is my number. Text me your address and I'll pick you up in.." She looked at her watch. "An hour?" She looked to Clarke for confirmation, which Clarke said yes to. "Cool. We can grab a coffee and then head over to the house." Lexa stated. "If you like?" She quickly turned it into a question, not sure if Clarke would want to spend even more time with her.
"Sounds great!" Clarke beamed her a mega-watt smile. "It's a date!" she added before she turned on her heal, leaving a stunned Lexa in her wake.
Lexa was too shocked to move. Date? She thought to herself. Was this a date? Lexas mind was going a mile a minute. Do I want this to be a date? She continue her inner monologue as she grabbed her helmet and keys off the desk. She made her way out to her bike and was soon back at her hotel. She changed her clothes again, wanting some fresh and comfortable to wear. She settled on a pair of black, ripped, skinny jeans and a charcoal and black three-quarter sleeve raglan. She wore a pair of white and red Jordan sneakers with a plain black baseball cap and her signature black chain. She switched her heavy duty watch out for a black Armani watch. And grabbed her aviators as she left for the hotel lobby.
Lexa loved her dark colours. There wasn't many items of clothing that she owned that were any other colours. Black was her signature look. And it worked for her.
As she approached the valet, he smiled at her. They were becoming, almost, friends. She smiled back at the man.
"Assuming you want your other vehicle Ms. Woods?" He questioned, noticing the lack of a helmet with her. She smiled and confirmed the mans suspicions. He soon left to fetch it for her. Upon his return, Lexa hand him a $50 and thanked him. He grinned at her. "No. Thank YOU." He insisted. Lexa just laughed as she got in her vehicle.
…
Clarke has just received a text from Lexa saying she was 5 minutes out. And she was starting to get nervous. She had joked with Lexa about this being a date earlier and now she was, first of all worried, that Lexa thought it might actually be a date and secondly, was kind of hoping it could be a date. She didn't know what it was about Lexa but she wanted to get to know her more. She felt drawn to her and after their near kiss yesterday, all she wanted was to go back and finish what they started.
She had struggled to sleep last night, knowing Lexa was so close but yet so far away, just a few bunk over. She had laid there all night, thinking about their almost kiss and wondering what it would feel like. To feel Lexas lips on hers. She had also thought about how Lexa had saved her from having to deal with Finn later that day too. She was thankful to the brunette for turning up when she did. But had also wondered why she had turned up. Did Lexa want something? Did she want to talk to her? Did she want to talk about the moment they shared? Clarke just wasn't sure and she couldn't stop thinking about it all night. And now that meant she was tired. But earlier, Clarke had remembered that Lexa had mentioned viewing a house today and she had invited Clarke. And She wanted nothing more than to spend more time with Lexa so Clarke had caught Lexa before she left the station and asked if she still wanted her to come.
Lexa had seemed almost shocked but had readily agreed that she still wanted Clarke to come. They had exchanged numbers and here they were. Clarke waiting outside her apartment, for Lexa to pick her up.
As that thought crossed her mind, she started to panic. Lexa was picking her up. Lexa rode a bike. Clarke was about to freak out when her thoughts were interrupted by a large black truck pulling up to the side walk, in front of her. She couldn't make out the driver through the tinted windows, but it didn't take a second for the engine to switch off and the drivers door to open.
…
Lexa pulled up to Clarke apartment building, spotting the blonde waiting outside for her. She smiled to herself as she took in Clarkes outfit. Thankful that she had gone for the full tint on her windows. She was admiring Clarkes outfit as she turned the ignition off. Clarke was in a simple pair of blue jeans that clung to her legs. Almost like they were made just for her. She wore a simple white button down with a black leather jacket over the top. She wore a pair of black converse sneakers and her hair was pulled back in a messy bun.She looks incredible, sexy even. Lexa thought to herself as she opened her door and climbed out of the truck.
…
Clarke was shocked to see Lexa emerge from the drivers side of the truck. Her breathe caught in her throat as she took her in. She was dressed all in black and Clarke couldn't help thinking how sexy Lexa looked like that. Especially next to this blacked out pick up. Clarke gulped as her eyes met Lexas face and saw her smirk.
…
Lexa was thanking everything and anything, for the fact she picked her mirrored aviators up on her way out. She was enjoying watching Clarke as her eyes scanned her body. She knew she looked good but she couldn't help feeling a little giddy at the way Clarke was practically ogling her right now. She smirked and she watched Clarkes eyes drift further upwards, finally reaching her face. She saw the visible gulp and inwardly smiled to herself. She loved the effect she was having on the blonde.
Lexa took a half step, as she moved to open the passenger door, breaking Clarke from her stare.
She held her hand out, to help the blonde step up into her truck. She was ever so chivalrous. Clarke took the offered hand and made to get into the truck. Lexa took a step behind her, still holding her hand for support. As Clarkes other hand reached up to grab the handle of the truck, so she could pull herself up, Lexa leaned into her back.
"You look absolutely breathtaking." Lexa whispered just inches from her ear. Clarkes body froze. Goosebumps forming as the hairs on the back of her neck stood up.
Lexa let go of Clarkes hand.
Clarke instantly missed the connection. She froze when she felt both of Lexas hands on her waist.
Lexa could feel Clarkes body tense as she placed her hands on hips.
She knew she was pushing things. With telling her how breathtaking she was, to now standing behind her, her front almost pressed to the blondes back. But Lexa couldn't help herself. She squeezed the blondes hips. Pulling them both from their spell.
"Ready?" She questioned Clarke. Indicating she was going to help lift her into the truck. Clarke was significantly shorted then herself and was using it as an excuse to be closer to her. To touch her. Clarke just nodded causing Lexa to smirk.
Once Clarke was seated and Lexa had closed the door, she shuddered out a breath. Her body felt on fire.
What the hell was that?! Clarke thought.
