Hello. It's been a while. Those of you who have been around and are familiar with the train wreck that is my writing habits are probably wondering what the hell is going on. The short version is that I felt quite guilty leaving this story unfinished but the same issue I had with it in the past, persists: I've lost touch with this story and don't know where I want to take it.
The longer version is that I wrote this story when I was Emma's age. Now I'm Regina's age, and while the age-gap works wonderfully (and will forever be my preference in fiction and real life), the ages don't work (Emma is so damn young). I also lived in NYC and worked in corporate, and now I recognize I got a lot wrong. There was no way I could pick up where I left off (plot, style, and writing level wise).
So here's what I'm doing instead: I'm writing a new version of the story on Archive of Our Own. While the premise of Emma and Regina getting the feels for one another in a NYC corporate setting remains, A LOT will change.
I chose to keep this version of the story up because I know certain people like it (and I hate when it's being done to me as a reader lol).
Since I have a shady history of dropping the ball when it comes to finishing writing projects, I waited until a significant chunk was done before starting to post. I will finish this piece, if it's the last thing I do.
You can find the new version (*A* Skyline of Concrete Dreams) in the following link: /works/58014208/chapters/147694675.
I hope you enjoy the new version :)
Ofri
