Chapter 48 Lessons Learned

A match was over as Emerald won her match, she fought Coco and Yatsuhashi with Mecury and she won her fight.

She walks down the halls and she saw Haru leaning against a wall surprising her.

"Hey." he said.

"Oh hey." She said.

"I came to check on the winner, i'm surprised you managed to beat Coco and Yatsuhashi, they're some of the best in our school." He said.

"They're nothing." Emerald said.

"Well here." He puts a flower at her ear surprising her.

"I'll see yeah later." He goes off.

Emerald touches it and she felt touched at what he did, she was just here on a mission yet why does she feel happy near him.

Later

Haru was back at his room and he watches Qrow, Yang and Ruby play video games.

"You'll never beat me, old man!" Ruby said.

"You're nothing but talk, kid!" Qrow said.

"You can do it, Ruby!" Yang cheers.

They kept playing as Haru chuckles. "Well they're having fun."

Qrow then won making Ruby frowns as Yang winces. "Ouch."

"And by the way, don't ever call me old." Qrow said.

Yang pushes Ruby to the side getting the controler. "My turn!"

"Now, where was I?" He looks at the game.

Ruby appears in between them. "You were telling us about your last mission!"

Right, right... I'd come across a small village in the swamps west of Mistral. Right off the bat, I knew something wasn't right." Qrow said.

"What were you doing there?" Ruby said.

"I needed information. Tired from battling Grimm along the way, I decided to start my search at the town's inn. The place was crawling with lowlifes and thugs, even a few Huntsmen that I could only assume had been hired by less-than reputable people for less-than respectable jobs. And that's when it happened." Qrow said.

"What happened?" Yang looks at him.

"I was defeated... by the mere sight... of the innkeeper's skirt length!" He said making Haru facepalm.

He won again and Yang was mad. "You are the worst!"

"Best two out of three?" Qrow said.

Ruby sits on Weiss' bed. "So, Uncle Qrow, did you get in trouble with Ozpin?"

He waves it off. "Nah, me and Oz go way back. We're cool."

"Cool for an old guy." Yang scoffs.

"Not funny." Qrow said.

"Must be some history." Haru said.

"So your the guy that Ruby and Yang told me about, the magic guy." Qrow said.

"Uh yes, my name is Haru."

"Saw your relative around, now that's a cool guy." Qrow said.

"Well yeah, he likes a good fight. He also values his friends." Haru heard the stories of Keiji.

"Now I respect that." Qrow said.

"So, what are you doing here anyway? I thought Dad said that you would be on a mission, for like... ever." Ruby said.

"Well, a professional Huntsman like myself is expected to get results, as soon as possible." Qrow said.

"Yeeeeaaaah, I get that." Ruby laughs. "We're pretty much pros, too."

"Oh, really?" He said.

"Psch, yeah! Read the news sometime. We totally saved Vale while you were gone." Yang said.

"Funny, because I heard Vale suffered a Grimm attack after you almost managed to stop a train." He then wins against against Yang making her irritated. "But they don't give out medals for almost."

"They do, and it's called silver!" Ruby said.

"Well, we helped take down Roman Torchwick! He's locked up in Ironwood's ship and crime's been down ever since! That's basically a bounty mission!" Yang said.

"Sure, you may be acting like Huntresses, but you're not thinking like one. You really think four girls, the guy and their friends could end all crime in a Kingdom?" Qrow said.

"I mean, I did until you said that..." Ruby taps her fingers.

"Violence hasn't dropped since Roman got nabbed; it's stopped, completely. No White Fang activity anywhere around the city. You cut off the head of the King Taijitu, but now the second head's calling the shots. That's what Ironwood can't get through that thick metal head of his." Qrow said.

"You... know the General?" Yang said.

"Hey, I know everybody to some extent. Remember, you're talking to a member of the coolest team that graduated Beacon!" Qrow takes out a picture of his old team. "Hah, Team STRQ... That's where I met your parents. We were pretty well known back in the day."

Haru checks the picture to see the mothers of Ruby and Yang, and can tell they're similar to them.

"Well known for crummy fashion sense!" Ruby said.

"Hey, we looked good! And I have a number of inappropriate stories to back that up!" Qrow noticed Yang staring at it and puts the picture away. "But, I'll save those for when you're older."

"Oh, gross!" Ruby was disgusted.

"Anyways, I'm too old to be hanging out with a bunch of kids. You're gonna cramp my style." Qrow goes to the door. "Look, just remember that you've still got a long way to go... And don't think for a second that graduating means you're done. Every day out there is worth a week in this place. You two, you're gonna go far. But only if you keep learning; if you never stop moving forward."

Haru stares at where Qrow exited the room and thinks about his words.

'There are dangers in the future.' He thinks

He remembers Dartz and knows theres more to come, he was one of the most dangerous he has ever fought, he just hopes he can get stronger. His Knight form is still recharging ever since the time he used it, he used too much energy against Dartz so it will take time to get it back to use.

'I just hope we can do it.'

Note: Heres the Lessons Learned and it's short since most of it is the same as in canon, so I had to cut it a bit. Also yes I know about Rooster Teeth's shut down, but it won't affect the story as some hope is heard about the situation of the series.
