Chapter 62 Menagerie

After they arrived at Menagerie the group went to Blake's parents and were now sitting at a table.

Kali sets down her cup on the table. She, Ghira, Haru, Cindy, Berry and Blake all sit on the floor at a square table.

"We were horrified when we heard the news. The Kingdom of Vale isn't perfect, but it certainly didn't deserve what happened. Oh, we were both so worried." Kali said.

"Please, I knew she'd be fine!" Ghira said.

Kali scoffs. "That isn't the slightest bit true. You should have seen him pacing."

"Well i've seen her how she fights and you have nothing to worry about." Haru said.

"How much have you watched?" Ghira narrows his eyesç.

Haru got nervous. "Just in training and battles. That's all."

Berry looks at the tea and reaches out.

"Oh no!" Haru takes it away.

Berry stares before she starts to tear up.

"Oh." Kali lifted her up. "Poor little girl. That's for big girls." She gives her a bottle instead.

"She doesn't drink it?" Cindy lifted her cup.

"She's still very young." Haru said. "Plus it's too hot."

"Yes." Blake nodded.

"Well he's got the instinct to watch over his kids." Ghira takes a sip.

"Yes, maybe Blake we'll feed hers with her own milk." Kali said.

Haru and Ghira choked and they did a spit take.

"Mom!" Blake blushes.

"What?" She got confused.

"It's not really something to talk about with the girls here." Haru had a nervous smile.

"Yes." Ghira narrows his eyes at Haru.

Haru looks around with Blake shaking her head. Then they heard a knock on the door.

"Darn it, I completely forgot about the meeting!" Ghira slams his fist on the table.

The two girls flinched and got scared.

"Ghira..." Kali puts a hand on him.

"Give me a moment." He walks out.

Haru stares at the scene. "Bad moment?"

"Is everything okay?" Blake said.

"Yes, dear, just poor timing. He can reschedule. It's just been hard dealing with them lately." Kali said.

"Dealing with who?" Blake asked.

"Hmm? The White Fang." She said.

"What?!" Haru and Blake said.

They rushed to the door leaving the girls there. They saw Ghira talking to the two fox faunus Corsac Albain and Fennec Albain.

"Dad!" Blake said.

"Miss Belladonna." Corsac said.

"We had no idea you'd returned." Fennec said.

"What are you doing talking to these people?" Blake said.

"This is Corsac and Fennec Albain. They represent the White Fang here in Menagerie now." Ghira said.

"These psychos are here." Haru frowns.

Fennec looks at Haru trying to be civil. "Young man, I'm not sure what you've heard of our organization, but I can assure you, we're not nearly as ferocious as the media would have you believe."

"What we've heard? We've seen firsthand. Your fanatics slaughtered people!" Blake said.

"What is she talking about?" Ghira said.

"Precisely what we came to discuss with you, Your Grace." Corsac said.

Kali came. "Is everything alright?"

"Wait, you guys seriously don't know?" Haru said.

"Know what?" Ghira said.

"At the attack on Beacon the White Fang was there. They attacked innocent civilians and they released Grimm into the school." Blake said.

Theres a silence before Ghira said: "Is this true?"

"Sadly, Your Grace, it is." Fennec said.

"Don't act like you're s—" Blake got cut off.

"That's enough! Explain yourselves." Ghira demanded the brothers.

"Though it pains us to admit, it has become apparent that the Vale branch of the White Fang is no longer operating under orders of High Leader Khan. Rather, they've elected to follow the rule of one Adam Taurus. I believe you're all familiar with the young adept and his... extreme philosophies." Corsac said.

"Adam?" Haru stares before he laughs.

"Why are you laughing?!" Corsac demanded.

"Adam's dead." Haru said surprising the brothers and Blake's parents.

"What?!" Fennec exclaims

"He got killed by Grimm in the attack on Vale. He's gone I saw him die." Haru said.

The brothers grimace at this.

"So yeah, you better get someone new. Because it seems your selected leader died without you knowing." Haru said.

"We'll need to investigate your claims first." Corsac said

"I saw it." Blake said.

"And why should we believe you?" Fennec demands

Haru throws a piece and they saw it was Adam's broken mask. The brothers were shocked again.

"Is that proof enough. I picked it up to stop some of his followers thinking he's still alive." Haru said.

Corsac sighs before nodding in agreement.

"Until there is proof otherwise Adam is dead." Corsac said

"Now leave. I want to have time spending with my daughter." Ghira told the two.

The brothers frown but nods leaving for now.

"Well you two don't have to worry, Adam is gone." Haru told Blake's parents.

"That's good to hear." Ghira said

"Haru... He saved me and my friend Yang from him." Blake said.

"Thank you for doing that." Kali said smiling

Haru shrugs. "It's nothing."

Then Kali gets a mischievous smile.

"Do you want to see Blake's baby pictures?" She asks.

"Mom!" Blake exclaims embarrassed.

"I do!" Cindy came.

"Cindy!" Blake exclaims feeling betrayed.

Kali takes Haru and Cindy with her.

Blake went after them hoping to get to the pictures before them. Ghira sighs since his wife likes to tease Blake.

Note: Haru met the brothers and they're not very happy knowing that Adam is gone, since that means all of his followers don't have a leader anymore.
