Clockwork led Danny, Jazz, and All Might through the ghost zone. All Might was taking everything in, the green aura, floating objects, and the random ghosts floating along.

Eventually they landed in front of a formal looking building. They went inside as Danny transformed into Phantom to fit in better. Frostbite walked up to them, "Greetings, Great One. It is an honor to see you again."

All Might was confused, "Great One?"

Frostbite explained, "Oh, yes. Phantom here was the one who defeated the dreaded Ghost King in one on one combat. Saved all of us from that tyrant."

All Might turned to Phantom, "Ah, that's what you meant by having defeated a king before."

Phantom shrugged, "Yeah, Frostbite never lets me forget that. I was just trying to protect my home."

Clockwork then said, "Frostbite here will stay with you throughout the trial as I have my duties to attend to. I will reunite with you once the trial has finished." He then floated off.

Frostbite turned to All Might, "And who are you, and how are you associated with the Great One?"

All Might answered, "I am All Might, former number one hero, and I am a teacher and mentor to Young Fenton here."

Frostbite smiled, "Ah, great to hear that someone is helping the Great One. Come, I will lead you to the witness box."

Jazz chuckled, "Come on, little bro, I mean, Great One."

Phantom sighed, "Man, you are never going to let that go, are you?"

Jazz shook her head, "Nope."

Frostbite led them to the witness box. Several ghosts were sitting below them waiting for the trial. All Might looked down and saw that all the ghosts looked different, kind of like the people with different Quirks back in his world. He saw two ghosts that matched the description that Gran Torino gave him.

He asked Phantom, "I assume those two are Skulker and Ember, the ghosts who Gran Torino saw?"

Phantom nodded, "Yeah. Skulker is a hunter who wanted my pelt for a long time. And Ember is all about her music. They used to be my enemies, but now we're neutral towards each other. Actually, several of the ghosts down there used to be enemies of mine. But that changed when….it happened."

Jazz put her hand on Phantom's shoulder when she noticed he got sad, "The ghosts issued a truce when Vlad killed our parents. They left Amity Park and my brother alone."

All Might replied, "How noble of them."

Suddenly the Observants along with Clockwork entered the courtroom. The lead Observant said, "Order. Court is in session. Walker, bring in the prisoner."

Walker appeared in the courtroom and dragged in Vlad Plasmius, who looked disheveled and beaten up. Phantom's eyes glowed green with anger and Jazz felt anger rise in her. All Might looked down at Vlad and he instantly knew that was the man who brought so much pain to Fenton and his sister.

The lead Observant said, "Vlad Plasmius. You stand here for the crime of killing humans. Breaking the cardinal rule of the Ghost Zone. Do you have anything to say in your defense?"

Vlad growled, "That dimwit had it coming. And only him. I would never kill my beloved Maddie. She could have been my queen and Daniel would have been our son!"

All Might looked over at Phantom, who silently growled in anger.

The lead Observant continued, "Clockwork, if you please show us the event in full."

Clockwork used his powers to show the fight between Phantom and Plasmius, also showing the deaths of Jack and Maddie Fenton in all of its detail. All Might saw how Phantom fought, and how he almost gave in to his pain and rage before Jazz showed up. He has felt that same rage before, when he was dragged away by Gran Torino from All For One as he wanted to stay with his master, but she stayed behind and sacrificed herself.

The lead Observant then said, "As you can see, Vlad Plasmius knowingly attacked and killed two humans, not caring about the consequences. But we will call witnesses. First, Tucker Foley."

Phantom was shocked, he looked down and saw that Tucker, Sam, and Valerie were seated below him, but they couldn't see him. Tucker was escorted to the front and sat in a chair. One of the Observants said, "Mr. Foley, describe your experience with the defendant."

Tucker said, "Well, I've helped Danny fight him. I helped rescue him when Vlad kidnapped him to help create that clone. He's always underestimated us."

Phantom smiled at that.

Sam was up next, "Basically what Tucker said. We've aided Danny in his fights against Plasmius. Plus, he's always been creepy."

That made Phantom chuckled to himself.

Valerie was last, "Mr. Masters came to me to help me take down Phantom when I was angry with him. Yes, I did blame Phantom for how my life turned out. And Mr. Masters originally gave me my suit and gadgets to hunt Phantom down. But after the incident with Danielle, I learned of his true identity and I overheard that I was just a pawn in his game against Phantom. I hold no allegiance with that monster anymore. Especially after he used me to force Phantom to reveal his identity to the world. I've done enough harm to Danny Fenton, I don't want to bring him any more pain."

Phantom was shocked by Valerie's honesty and smiled at that.

All Might looked over to Phantom, "Are those three friends of yours?"

Phantom nodded, "Yeah, Tucker and Sam are my best friends, we fought ghosts together all the time. But for a while, I thought their help wasn't safe for them and I thought like you did, people without powers shouldn't help out the heroes. But they were the ones who showed me that even the most ordinary people can surprise you. But a part of me is glad that the ghosts stopped attacking Amity Park. My friends deserve a normal life. As for Valerie, what she said was true, she blamed me for her father losing his job and her rich life going away, but now she's mellowed out. I'm glad she doesn't want to bother me anymore."

"She was also his girlfriend for a short time," Jazz added. "Along with Sam."

Phantom glared at Jazz, who giggled.

The lead Observant then said, "Now we call Phantom to the stand."

That made all the ghosts, and even Tucker, Sam, and Valerie look around in shock. Phantom took a deep breath, then floated down from the witness box to the stand. Sam, Tucker, and Valerie were shocked to see Phantom looking so different compared to when they last saw him, new outfit and all.

Plasmius even looked up, "Ah, young Daniel. What a nice surprise." That made one of the guards slam their weapon into Vlad's head.

Phantom didn't reply. The lead Observant said, "Young Phantom, describe your experience with the defendant."

Phantom explained, "He was an old college friend of my parents who studied ghosts. Through an accident, he got his powers and used them to build his rich empire. He hated the fact that my dad married my mom. I didn't meet him until the college reunion he hosted shortly after I got my powers. He wanted me to join him and renounce my father, along with wanting my mom to join him as well. I told him no, we fought, I won. He then put a million dollar bounty on my head, but that didn't work. He tried again by tricking my mom and I to travel to his cottage in the middle of nowhere. We fought, I won. Then he tried creating clones of me and captured me to help with his most successful clone. With the help of Danielle and my friends, he was stopped. After he became mayor of Amity Park, he tried to make my life harder and tried the clone thing again. But that failed. That's when he went crazy and fought me, which resulted in the deaths of my mother and father, as you all saw."

One Observant said, "You are half human, half ghost like Plasmius. And there exists you in a future where your ghost half merged with Plasmius to create your dark self. You not only killed your human half, but millions of humans in that future. How do we know that you won't turn out like him?"

This was news to All Might. He knew he would have to ask Phantom about that later.

The lead Observant said, "This trial is not about Phantom's dark future self. Plus, the future changed from the one his dark self presented in."

The other Observant argued, "But there is still a chance. His parents were still killed and Plasmius is right here. Plus, Clockwork has his dark self hidden in his clock tower. How can we be sure that Phantom won't turn into that monster?"

Phantom stood up, "The future isn't set in stone. Plus, I will never turn into that monster. In that future, Vlad was the one who took my ghost self out of me, because I asked him to. But even if that explosion happened again, I would never go to Vlad. In my eyes, he's a seriously messed up fruit loop."

The other Observant hummed, "Hmm, I see. It seems you have matured in your time away. Maybe you are ready." The Observant then sat down, but Phantom was confused by that last statement.

The lead Observant said, "We have heard all the testimony we needed to hear. Vlad Plasmius, stand."

Plasmius stood up, but stared hard at Phantom.

The lead Observant then said, "You are guilty of the crime of killing humans. Therefore, we sentence you to…."

Plasmius interrupted, "You can't sentence me! I am Vlad Plasmius, the most powerful person alive. I am superior to all of you. Including you, Daniel. I've overheard the murmurings of all the ghosts. I will never bow down to the likes of you!"

He charged in towards Phantom, but suddenly a sword blocked his path. The ghost responsible was Fright Knight, who said, "You will not harm the prince, not under my watch. You have already brought much harm to him. Your reign of tyranny ends here."

Plasmius was quickly grabbed by the guards as Phantom stood there in shock at what he just heard.

All Might turned to Jazz, "What…."

Jazz interrupted, "I have no idea."

The lead Observant said, "Vlad Plasmius, you are sentenced to spend eternity in the Void. Clockwork, if you please."

Clockwork waved his staff and a black portal opened. The guards dragged Plasmius to it, as the older half ghost was shouting, "I will come back! I swear! I will make sure Daniel will never become king! It should have been me! With Maddie as my queen! I had the ring. I almost had the crown! I should have been the one to defeat him! This isn't the end!" He was then thrown into the portal as it was closed behind him.

Phantom's face was stone cold in shock. He turned to Fright Knight, "What the actual fuck is going on here?"

Fright Knight kneeled to Phantom, "You are the rightful King of the Ghost Zone since you defeated our previous King in single combat. Since you have not been crowned yet, your title is Prince of the Ghost Zone. I am sorry that you had to find out this way, Your Highness, but Plasmius played our hand. You were to be told in private at a later date."

Phantom looked up at Clockwork, "You knew this would happen, didn't you?"

Clockwork smirked, "Perhaps, since I know everything. This was a possibility. Why don't we take this conversation elsewhere?"

Frostbite led Jazz and All Might to a room where Clockwork, Fright Knight, and Phantom met up with them.

Phantom started to panic, "There's no way I can be the King. The other ghosts helped me close the sarcophagus, I didn't defeat him on my own…."

Fright Knight interrupted, "You were the one to challenge him. Alone. You were the reason for his defeat. Therefore, you won the title by right of combat."

"I can't be the King!" Phantom shouted. "I'm still a teenager, and more importantly, I'm half human! There's no way the Ghost Zone would expect someone like me to be their King. Plus, I don't want to be the King. I left Amity Park so that I could start a fresh life after my parents were killed. I am settled, I made new friends, I have a new purpose, I'm going to become a hero. Why would I throw all of that away for this?"

Jazz walked up to Phantom, "Danny, take some deep breaths. You need to calm down so we can discuss this rationally and calmly. OK?"

Phantom took some deep breaths as Clockwork explained, "Unfortunately, those are the rules of the Ghost Zone, Young Phantom. We can't go on without a King forever."

Phantom argued, "You did for who knows how long the King was locked in that box. What is different now?"

Clockwork answered, "Even though he was imprisoned, he was still in the Ghost Zone. His presence held together the Zone itself. After you defeated him, your occasional visits fed on your aura like it did with the previous King and would keep it in check for a while."

Phantom interrupted, "Then couldn't I just visit every so often to keep the Zone together?"

Clockwork answered, "Let me finish. If only that were possible forever. But since you haven't been crowned, your aura isn't strong enough for that to work. It is only a matter of time until the Zone will start to wither and then die."

Phantom asked, "Well, can't someone else be the King? They can challenge me to single combat, I would lose on purpose, and then they can be King."

Clockwork sighed, "Unfortunately, that won't work. The crown would sense your deceit and not let you lose on purpose."

Phantom sighed, "This sucks."

All Might turned to Clockwork, "Is this something that has to happen right away?"

Clockwork shook his head, "No, even though he is the next King, he is not ready. If he were to be crowned right now, the power would consume him and….well I don't want to discuss that any further. It's best not to know."

Phantom glared at Clockwork, "What's that supposed to mean?"

Fright Knight waved his hand and a ring appeared in front of Phantom, "You should recognize this, correct?"

Phantom nodded, "The Ring of Rage. How were you able to get it though? The previous King was wearing it when I locked him back up."

Fright Knight answered, "It left him shortly after you defeated him, as it along with the crown no longer saw him as the King. I have kept it safe. I brought it here for a test. Go ahead. Try it on."

Phantom was unsure but grabbed it and put it on one of his fingers. He was suddenly filled with power, but also hate, rage, and fury. He held his head in pain as Jazz shouted, "What did you do to him? Help him!"

Clockwork quickly froze time and took the ring off of Phantom before starting time up again, "You see the point now? You are not ready to handle the ring, much less the crown."

Phantom groaned, "If I remember correctly, didn't the ring and crown drive the previous King mad?"

Clockwork clarified, "Yes, but because he let the power get to him. The King is supposed to be the balance between all things. The previous King became evil because of his lust for power and because that's what his heart desired, the power drove him mad."

Phantom argued, "But I don't want power."

Clockwork explained, "True, however if you wanted the power just for the glory, like say, some of the heroes in the world you are now in, the power would drive you mad."

Phantom replied, "But I don't want glory either. Stop being cryptic for once!"

Frostbite stepped forward, "Great One, we know that you don't fight for power or glory, you fight because you want to help people. That is your ghostly nature. However, even though you have gotten stronger since you first got your powers, you are not ready to handle the ring and crown. But you are closer than you think. If you tried on the ring, say, right after you and your sister moved to a new world, you would have probably been completely burned alive and not only had your human half die, but also your ghost half would cease to exist."

Phantom paled, "Ok, that's morbid."

All Might then realized, "That's why you brought him to my world. To train to handle the power."

Clockwork nodded, "Very good. Yes, that was my purpose for sending him there, along with giving him and his sister a fresh start. In the 18 months he has been there, he has improved greatly. It won't be long before you will be able to handle the ring. Eventually the crown as well."

All Might then said, "I will help train him."

Phantom looked over at All Might, "What…"

"Young Fenton," All Might said. "I know that this wasn't the future you wanted. But you are already on your way to becoming a true hero. You have the potential. I've seen it. That is why I believe you will become a great king. You can help both here and my world become a better place."

Phantom was shocked by All Might's words. He thought for a moment, then said, "Well, it's like I don't have a choice anyway, but alright. Let's do this."

Clockwork smiled, "As I knew you would.'

Fright Knight then revealed a chain necklace and put the ring on it, "Here, Your Highness. You should be the one to hold onto this until you are ready."

Phantom asked, "Um, why? Plus, how can I hold onto it while hiding all of this? It is glowing green and has a skull on it."

Fright Knight replied, "Is it? Look again." He lifted up the chain, and the ring now looked like a regular silver ring. "It will look however you want it to. And this chain will protect you from its power. It will only activate when you decide to wear it on your hand. When you feel you are ready to handle its power."

"And when will that be?" Phantom asked.

Clockwork answered, "You'll know. Trust me."

Phantom took the ring and chain and put the chain around his neck.

Jazz said, "As much as this has been fascinating, we should probably get back home. I assume All Might has other things he needs to take care of."

Clockwork nodded, "Of course. Just one more thing."

Suddenly Wolf entered and said, "Pardonu min. La spektita, la malhela, kaj la casistino volas vida amikon." (Excuse me. The spectacled one, the dark one, and the huntress was to see friend)

Clockwork nodded, "Send them in, Wolf."

All Might whispered to Phantom, "Do you know what he said?"

Phantom nodded, "Yeah, that's Wolf. He only speaks in Esperanto. He said my friends from Amity Park that are here want to see me."

The door opened and Tucker and Sam rushed towards Phantom and pulled him into a hug.

Tucker cried, "Danny, we missed you so much! Amity Park isn't the same without you."

Sam agreed, "Tucker said it best. Great to see you again."

Valerie walked in, "True, hardly any ghosts have been attacking Amity Park, so it's been boring without you around. But you look good. Nice new threads."

Phantom pulled away, "Yeah, I decided my outfit needed an upgrade."

Sam noticed, "You kept my emblem I made for you."

Phantom nodded, "Yeah, it still means a lot to me."

Jazz stepped forward, "It's good to see all of you again. Other than the lack of ghost attacks, how is Amity Park?"

Valerie said, "Good. Everyone at school surprisingly messes both of you. Even Dash, surprisingly. I think he just feels guilty for bullying his favorite hero."

Tucker pointed to All Might, "Who's the old guy with the sunken eyes?"

Phantom replied, "Oh, this is All Might, he's one of my teachers. He's also a superhero."

Sam was confused, "He doesn't look like one."

All Might turned into his hero form, "How about now, young lady?"

Sam gulped, "OK, I believe you."

All Might turned back into his normal self and bowed, "It's nice to meet the friends of one of my favorite students."

Jazz asked, "You know how to speak English?"

All Might nodded, "Yes, I spent some of my hero days in America, after all. How else did I know what was going on during the trial?"

"Point taken," Jazz replied.

Tucker said, "Your accent sounds Japanese. Is that where you've been, dude?"

Phantom nodded, "Yeah, Jazz and I live in Japan in the new world we're staying at. Desiree made it so we could speak and understand the language."

All Might added, "Young Fenton goes to an academy that trains the future heroes of our society. He's top of his class and is the class rep."

Sam chuckled, "Wow, surprising for someone whose grades weren't that great."

Phantom huffed, "Hey, there was a reason for that."

Clockwork coughed, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but these three need to get back to their world before they go unnoticed."

Tucker, Sam, and Valerie said their goodbyes and Wolf escorted them back to Amity Park. Clockwork opened a portal and guided Phantom, Jazz, and All Might back to the Fenton apartment.

Fright Knight said, "Your Highness, if you need my assistance, I will be at your call."

Phantom nodded, "Good to know. Thank you."

Once back at the apartment, Jazz looked out the windows, "It's already nighttime."

Clockwork turned to Phantom, "Young Phantom, the day will come when you must return and be crowned as King. But for now, enjoy your new life here and train. All Might has promised me that. I know you are still upset at all of this, but I know that you will be a great King one day. Not to mention a great hero as well." He then disappeared.

Phantom turned back into his normal self, "Man, I did not expect all of this to happen when I woke up this morning."

Jazz hugged Danny, "You have my support, Danny. And the support of all your friends. Even All Might here."

All Might added, "Although, this should all be on the down low. However, I do want to have another discussion with you about some of the things I learned today."

Danny nodded, "Of course. Here, let me escort you out, All Might."

Danny led All Might out. They were almost to the stairs when they heard, "All Might!"

They turned around and saw Izuku running towards them. Izuku panted, "I didn't know you were still here."

All Might cryptically said, "Apologies. My meeting with Young Fenton went longer than I thought it went. There were many things that we needed to discuss. About….you know who and our fight with him. We will talk at a later date about it. Now, I will see the two of you later." All Might walked down the steps.

Izuku looked over at Danny, "Are you OK? You seem like your mind is somewhere else."

Danny nodded, "Yeah, All Might just gave me a lot to think about. That's all."

Izuku didn't fully buy it as he somewhat overheard some things, and heard a voice that he didn't recognize, but couldn't understand what they were saying. Still, he said goodnight to Danny and went back to his apartment.

Later that night, as Danny was lying in bed, he pulled out the chain that Fright Knight gave him and looked at the ring, feeling some of its power.

"As much as I don't like it," Danny muttered to himself. "I guess I'm going to have to get used to this. Maybe it will all work out in the end." He then fell asleep, the chain falling back into its place around his neck, the ring glowing slightly, waiting for the day that Danny has to wear it.
