"Rocket honey, I think you need hearing aids. You're having trouble hearing me and our sweet kits." Nebula told him. It was a few weeks into summer and they and the kits had been havibg fun only Rocket had been having trouble hearing Nebula and their kits which bothered Nebula but she knew what to do making her beloved soulmate hearibg aids but her ears had grown back so it was good. It was also to repay him for making her xannon arm so she didn't mibd astounding Rocket that she'd made them fir him crying in joy as they'd taught their kits it was very okay to show their emotions so understood he was happy because they'd been worried in case he couldn't hear seeing him hug Nebula wiping tears away. "Thanks Nebs as I'm wearing a lil bit of you like me making your arm." he told her impressing the kits.
"Howdy guys, it's Ranger. Daddy Marshmallow said I should stay with you. Nebs was gonna tell you." he told Rocket making her sigh.
"Yeah, Papa Marshmallow told me, that Ranger was gonna be living with us." Nebula told him seeing the kits excited that Uncle Ranger was here, and he was wearing a trucker hat noticing the hearing-aids and decided not to ask about them in case he upset him plus Nebula had set up a room for him. Plus Hervie and Sputnik were excited about space camp but happy that Ranger was here and staying with them subce Raya was at college so happy to be around lil kits again wanting to helo but Nebula said they were good seeing him sit on the couch looking out the window into the woods outside being quiet bothering Rocket sensing he was feeling out of place confusing the kits.
"It's okay, go play guys." Rocket said seeing them scammper off as he sat beside him on the couch.
"Ranger it's okay, you'll feel at home in no time. The kits are happy you're here." he said softly to him.
"Yeah, I do feel oht of place here, hoping that I'll fit in." he told him sipping coffee. Nebula was finding this sweet as Ranger was a shy goofball but ssone in their family called him a yokel so would welcone him warmly knowing the kits already were knowing Ranger noticed the earrings in Rocket's adorabke ears only he was too shy to ask encouraging his curiousity making Rocket nod. "My ears have hearing losses in them so Nebula made them for me." he told him.
"Wait, she took off her ears, how can she hear." Ranger said stunned making Nebula giggle at his response explaining her ears had grown back relieving him she was okay along with Rocket seeing him nodding but tired surprising Ranger. "He got back from a NASA mission so he always is tired which thekits get." Nebula told him.
"Are the kits asleep, honey as they were kinda riled up by Ranger playing with them. You okay Rocket." Nebula said to Rocket. It was night and after putting the kits to bed, Nebula and Rocket were in their bed and snuggling plus Rocket was still wearing his hearing-aids wearing his NASA jammies and cosy socks. "Yeah they're asleep and I told them a soothing space story after Ranger was playing with them." he told them yawning. He then put his hearing-aids on the bedside table so he wouldn't lose them which Nebula got finding it sweet knowing he could read lips so knew Nebula was sayibg goodnight while giving him his hug.
"Love you too Nebs you know." he said kissing her lying down beside her falling asleep hoping that Ranger would sleep well for his first night here but the next morning, he found Ranger on the couch in his blanket making Rocket guess he'd had a rough night making coffee seeing Ranger begin to stir joining him.
"Yeah, I foubd it hard to sleep." he admitted yawning.
"You'll be able to sleep when you settle in." he told him. They were enjoying the early-morning ambience knowing that Nebula and the kits were sleeping okay knowing the kits were probably cuddling her like they did every morning amusing Ranger.
