AN: This was written way before the finale. So, it's pretty inaccurate to how things actually play out. Consider it an AU.
Dev is a lot of things that Peri wouldn't wish on any Fairy Godparent: rude, impatient, bratty, whiny. He could go on and on, really.
But after being his fairy for awhile, he's seemed to mellow out. It didn't completely go away, of course, but Dev was a lot more comfortable with him now then what he was before. A lot of the facade had chilled to more of a normal boy, instead of a pest who made everything unbearable.
Which was nice, really. He doesn't how many more wishes born out of insecurity he could take.
Right now though, there were no wishes to be granted. Dev was fast asleep, curled up in his fancy bed, dreaming about whatever rich boys dream about.
Peri could have easily transformed into one of his animal forms and doze off, but there was something so fascinating about watching the kid sleep.
Maybe it was because Dev seemed so at peace, something he wasn't during the day. Always so concerned about what others think of him and getting his dad's approval. Here, it seems to all wash away.
It doesn't help that the kid's cute.
...Which is a thought that almost makes Peri slap himself.
Almost.
That is not something a Fairy Godparent should be thinking Peri thinks, trying to scold himself for that idea even popping in there.
Dev is cute, but in a strictly parental way.
...Yeah, that's not working.
The more time he dwells on it, the more other things start to sprout in his head.
Like...
Dev's laugh is adorable.
The way he sticks out his tongue when he's gaming is even more adorable.
The way he looks up at Peri when he's doing magic, like Peri's the greatest fairy every? He could live off that, he's sure of it.
That's when it hits him, like a bullet to his brain.
He likes Dev.
Likes him in a very non-Fairy Godparent way.
Peri kind of wants to wish himself out of existence.
Da Rules doesn't explicitly forbid falling in love with your kid, because it's common sense, really. What weirdo would fall for the literal child their suppose to be helping?
Peri, apparently.
Peri shakes his head, wondering how he got into this mess. He really should've just gone to dentistry school.
He needs a quick fly around the neighborhood. Turn into a bird and just glide until his wings are sore. That'll clear hid mind, at least for a little bit.
And then he can pretend he never had this realization, and going back to being the cool suave fairy that swept Dev off his feet and-
Yeah, he needed to go.
So, with one last long glance at Dev, he poofs himself into a small purple bird, and takes off into the night.
Maybe he'll figure out to get of these nasty feelings some other day.
Maybe.
