Hello, everyone, I hope you all enjoy this story that I have been cooking for some time. It's a more adult story, with some delicate topics but I hope you all enjoy.
Forbidden Desire
The morning sun filtered through the curtains of Rito's room, casting a gentle glow on the walls. Rito lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, his mind racing with thoughts of the day ahead. Today was the day he had decided to finally confess his feelings to Haruna. With Mikan, Lala, and Nana away on a space trip, he felt a rare sense of calm and focus. It was a rare opportunity, no chance for Lala's invention to stop him and no interruption from Nana calling him beast or something.
"Okay, Rito, you can do this," he muttered to himself, sitting up and rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "No distractions, no interruptions. Just tell her how you feel."
He got dressed quickly, choosing his favorite shirt for a bit of extra confidence. The boy with light brown stood in front of his mirror, adjusting his shirt and running a hand through his hair. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. "Okay, Rito, you can do this," he muttered to himself.
As he turned to grab his school bag, he nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw Momo standing in the doorway, a playful smirk on her face. "You look nice! Is today a special day?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Rito stammered, his face turning red. "Uh, n-no, not really! I just... I thought I'd try something different today, you know?"
Momo chuckled, clearly amused by his clumsy excuse. "Sure, Rito. Whatever you say." She leaned against the doorframe, her smile widening. "Just remember, if you need any help, I'm always here."
Rito grabbed his bag, trying to avoid her knowing gaze. "Thanks, Momo. I'll keep that in mind," he mumbled, brushing past her and heading downstairs.
Momo watched him go, shaking her head with a smile. "Good luck, Rito," she whispered to herself before heading back to her own room.
Rito reached the kitchen, the house still feeling unusually quiet without Mikan, Lala, and Nana around. He quickly made himself some toast, his mind still buzzing with thoughts of Haruna. As he ate, he couldn't help but replay the conversation with Momo in his head, her teasing yet supportive words giving him a small boost of confidence.
Finishing his breakfast, Rito took a deep breath and steeled himself for the day ahead. Today was the day he would finally confess to Haruna, and nothing was going to stop him.
The walk to school felt longer than usual, his heart pounding with anticipation. As he approached the gates, he spotted Haruna chatting with a few friends near the entrance. She looked as radiant as ever, her smile lighting up the morning.
Rito's nerves threatened to get the best of him, but he steeled himself. "It's now or never," he thought, taking a deep breath and walking towards her.
"Good morning, Sairenji," he called out, his voice surprisingly steady.
Haruna turned to face him, her eyes widening slightly in surprise. "Good morning, Yuki-kun. You're here early today."
ito felt his heart pounding in his chest, his cheeks burning with embarrassment. "Uh, well, Sairenji... I was wondering if... if you could meet me after school. There's something I need to talk to you about."
Haruna looked surprised for a moment, but then her expression softened into a gentle smile. "Of course, Yuki-kun. I'll meet you after school. Where do you want to meet?"
Rito let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding, feeling a mixture of relief and anticipation. "How about the park near the school? It's quiet there."
Haruna nodded, her smile never wavering. "Sure, that sounds good. I'll see you there."
"Great," Rito said, his voice slightly shaky but filled with determination. "Thank you, Sairenji."
Haruna gave him an encouraging nod before turning to head to her class, leaving Rito standing there with his heart still racing. He watched her go, feeling both nervous and excited about what the end of the day would bring.
As he walked to his own class, he couldn't help but replay the brief conversation in his head, feeling a sense of hope. This was his chance, and he was determined to make the most of it.
ito entered the classroom, his heart still pounding from his conversation with Haruna. He took his seat, trying to focus on the lessons, but his mind kept drifting to the upcoming meeting after school. The minutes seemed to crawl by, each tick of the clock amplifying his anticipation.
During lunch break, Rito found himself sitting with his usual group of friends, including Saruyama. However, he was quieter than usual, lost in his thoughts.
"Hey, Rito, you alright? You seem out of it today," Saruyama said, nudging him with an elbow.
Rito blinked and forced a smile. "Yeah, just thinking about some stuff."
Saruyama raised an eyebrow but didn't press further, and the conversation shifted to more casual topics. Despite the chatter around him, Rito's mind kept circling back to Haruna and what he would say to her later.
Finally, the last bell of the day rang, and students began to pack up their things. Rito gathered his books, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. He took a deep breath, reminding himself that he had come this far and couldn't back down now.
As he made his way to the park, he noticed the sky beginning to change colors, the afternoon sun casting a warm glow over everything. The park was quiet, just as he had hoped, with only a few people scattered around.
Rito reached the spot they had agreed upon, a bench near a grove of trees. He sat down, fidgeting with his hands as he waited. Each second felt like an eternity, his heart racing with every passing moment.
Finally, he saw Haruna approaching, her expression curious and a little nervous. She reached the bench and sat down next to him, offering a warm smile. "Hi, Yuki-kun. I'm here."
Rito took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves. "Hi, Sairenji. Thanks for meeting me."
Haruna nodded, her eyes reflecting her genuine interest. "Of course. What did you want to talk about?"
Rito felt his heart pounding harder. This was it. He had to tell her. "Sairenji, there's something I've been meaning to say for a long time," he began, his voice trembling slightly. "I've liked you for a while now. You're always so kind and caring, and I really admire you. I was wondering if... if you would go out with me."
Haruna's eyes widened slightly, and she looked down for a moment, clearly thinking about her response. The silence felt deafening to Rito, but he waited, his heart in his throat.
After what felt like an eternity, Haruna looked up, her eyes meeting his.
"Rito, I… I'm really sorry. I didn't want to hurt you, but someone else already confessed to me before you did. He is always nice and kind to me and made me feel special. So I decide to accept his confession."
Rito's face falls, his heart sinking as he processes the words. His eyes, once filled with hope, now show the depth of his heartbreak. He tries to muster a smile, but it falters.
"Oh… I see." He said his voice almost breaking, "I didn't know."
Haruna reaches out to touch his hand, but he pulls away gently. He stands up, his expression a mix of pain and resignation.
Rito: "I guess… I should go. I didn't mean to make things awkward."
"Yuki-kun, wait!" Haruna called out.
Without waiting for a response, Rito turns and starts to walk away, his steps heavy and unsteady. Haruna watches him go, tears welling up in her eyes. The warm light of the setting sun seems to mock the cold emptiness Rito feels inside.
As Rito reaches the park gate, he begins to run, the tears he tried to hold back now streaming down his face. The weight of rejection feels unbearable as he races home, desperate to escape the crushing reality. As he run to his home, the world around him seemed to blur. His mind was a whirlwind of pain and confusion. The girl he had loved for so long was already taken, and the weight of that realization felt unbearable. He run to his house as quickly as possible, trying to process his feelings but finding it too difficult to handle. He felt his steps heavy and unsteady and familiar path back to his home seemed unusually long, each step feeling like a mile. He passed through the quiet streets, trying to ignore the sympathetic glances from passersby who could see his distress.
As he approached his house, the familiar sight of his home did little to ease his pain. He stood in front of the door for a moment, taking a deep breath before unlocking it. The house was quiet, the kind of silence that felt oppressive rather than comforting.
Rito stepped inside, the cool air of the hallway doing nothing to refresh him. He kicked off his shoes and walked to his room. The house seemed unusually empty, the absence of his family felt acutely.
The thought of his sister, Mikan, and his friends, Lala and Nana, who were away on their space trip, made him feel even more isolated. He wished he could share his feelings with them, but they weren't there, and he was left to deal with his pain alone.
Rito slammed the door behind him and collapses onto his bed, burying his face in the pillow. His sobs echo softly through the room, mingling with the silence that follows.
The moonlight filters through the window, casting a pale glow over Rito's tear-streaked face. The pain of unspoken words and lost chances hangs heavily in the air.
For the first time in a long while, Rito felt truly alone, the hope he had clung to for so long now replaced by a profound sadness.
