"Soy..monstruo..que nadie amaría, solo, la gente mala.¿Por qué nací en este infierno llamado existencia? No importa, tomaría las precauciones adecuadas en mi vida." The pencil strokes across the white sheets of paper, writing each word with hopelessness from the author's heart. All that was left of her miserable life was her books that she could grab when she entered the wilderness of the city, a few of her favorite chocolate bars that was her dinner, and her journal of events that happened when she was child.
Such wonderful moments like she wasn't that close with her parents as they would rather be their time working on the bodega since this the dream of any foreign immigrants except their daughter.
Except for her beloved Abuelo, who was a bright old man that often scolded her parents who neglected his grandchild, yet they ignored his warnings. She remembers times when she was little, he would tell stories of his time while they bake cookies. Most were about him wooing the many women he hookup with or offering advice and lessons he learned in his youth.
"La vida es un violador que te sigue quitando la dignidad, a menos que tú se lo permitas." He would say that she couldn't really understand until now.
"There is our specimen, now get her!" She didn't have to say anything before grabbing her stuff and ran down the street as the men chased after.
"Los hombres malos me encontraron!!!" She said through her trembling voice, as she could hear their footsteps, rapidly approaching up to her. Now regretting taking refuge in the city's local park if eventually someone may spot a five foot five water monitor abomination roaming the lake region.
"If you morons lose this specimen, I would cut up all of your nuts and turn them into my personal jar of idiots who failed me, got it?" The army men winced at their commander's threat since none of them want their reproductive organs unwillingly removed.
"Aye commander alright boys go to procall B-34 for extra force." His men nodded in agreement and aimed at their moving target. Luckily the young mutant barely got hit with the darts that would knock her out instantly and god knows what they would do to her. The more encouragement to get the hell out of there. She looked to her right and saw the pond and remembered a spot she could hide, but the problem is it's underwater where there could be more danger.
"Aim…fire!!" The gun fired and the darts missed their target by a long shot when she deployed into the cold depths of the body of water. At first she couldn't see anything until her reptilian vision kicked in and used her strong swimming strokes to the opening between the rocks.
"Shit! We lost--
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN YOU LOST HER!?" The commander chief exclaimed through an earpiece.
"We kinda lost her at the lake, sir?"
"Unless you don't want to be neuter, I advise you to take your happy ass into that disgusting water and find her, now!" He demanded. The men sigh and retreat to their vehicle to collect their scuba gear. Once they left, a few small bubbles gurgled on the surface of the water when the mutant lizard emerged to the surface from some fresh oxygen.
"¿Por qué todos me quieren por malos razonamientos? no puedo tomarlo." Once she dragged her now cold wet body, she headed to the city where one of the tall buildings caught her eyes. This triggers something deep inside her to her next final task in hand.
"¿Por qué no entregarme... cuando esté muerto?"
Later in the night lies another teenage mutant who was roaming the rooftops with their quick and steady speed, jumping the large gaps of cars driving to the other building.
"It feels good for a nice relaxing run downtown of New York." The blue masked turtle said, coming to a complete stop and sat down on the edge of the building for a rest.
"Surprisingly no crime today which I suppose I am grateful for, unlike my brother Rapheal. He always wants to murder someone." He was very much correct on his brother's impulse intentions, and that is why he insisted he would have the first watch. Plus he needed some fresh air.
"Well nothing seems out of the ordinary today, so I better keep moving." He declared and continued his run. Tonight is too peaceful to his liking where a few weeks ago, he and his brother were battling a criminal gang activity that involved illegal animal trafficking. Pet animals: birds, fish, amphibians, and of course turtles were sold to unregistered pet stores.
Luckily they save some of the animals found in these pet stores and their best friend April could find wonderful homes for the little critters in the meantime. Now, as he went for another leap and noticed a figure on top of one of the buildings a few feet from him.
"What th-.whoa!" He nearly fell off the twelve stories building if his foot didn't stop in place. Few inches away from a broken shell he would say but wasn't on his mind right now.
"Hm..I wonder what's going on up there? Better go check it out." He declared. Curiosity is a burden that corrupts the mind no matter what good or bad comes with it, but Leo didn't take any chances.
He went over to the direction of the mysterious figure was located with a few quick and calibrated movements came to the building. Once his foot made contact with the hard ground, he heard noises from the opposite side and pressed his back against the wall to hide himself in the shadows when he moved a bit closer.
"Okay..if the noises are coming from here then.." He paused his thinking when he saw the figure sitting on the edge of the building, wearing a dark colored hoodie that covered their body while writing down something in a journal.
"So it's a person but why are they out here alone and what are they writing about in their notebook?" Leo gasped when the person stood up to come over where he was to drop their book beside his foot.
"Maybe this would give me a clue." He noticed the journal had sugar skulls around the cover and words he didn't understand because it's in a different language.
"Whoever they are, they love to write, especially in their native language." He said, about to place the book back when the owner spotted him and startled them.
"Por favor no me hagas daño, por favor!!" He realized their voice was female..a very young female maybe around his age.
"Am not going to hurt you..ma'am but you getting clos-- He was too late to warn her as she tripped off the building as he went after. As they fell down the building that felt like an eternity with the teenage turtle zoomed down to the screaming woman, to grab and pull her close to him as he aimed his grapple gun at the building to slow down their fall into a pile of pillows from a factory below.
"Aw..my shell." He moaned, sensing a tender feeling on his shell but that wasn't his biggest concern as the woman wasn't human but a teenage mutant water monitor that lied beside him.
"Oh shell..please don't be dead." He gently turned her to his direction and lay his head on her breast.
Lub dub.. lub dub..lub dub
He released his breath when he heard her slow steady heartbeat to indicate she was alive.
"Thank God." Since he heard people coming towards them, he picked the unconscious lizard and carried her down to one of the manhole covers, before the employees spotted them.
"Cool, Check what I found guys, a shuriken."
Meanwhile, in the deep depths of the ground world of the city's sewerage system, where the mutant roams to his den for a safe place for his unexpected guest.
"I hope Donnie is up because I may need his help." He pondered, pulling a lever to walk inside the lair. When he took a few more steps, he heard his younger brother snoring on the couch along with his cartoon still running.
"Mikey, what am I going to do with you?" He sighs and heads to his room across the hall.
"Mhm." The mutant moans when her body makes contact with the warm soft comfort of his bed.
"This is so crazy of me to do, but it's my fault that it happened in the first place, stupid."
"What 's going on here, my son?' He gulped when hearing his father's eastern accent voice and jumped onto his feet and bowed.
"Oh master Splinter!..I-I didn't know you were up this late..a-and--" His father raised his pink paw which Leo knows to stop talking, and watched him come over to the water monitor, humming while stroking his beard. Seeing how the young mutant must have triggered something in the rat man, as his face shows no anger or disappointment but curiosity.
"Mhm..I would like a word with our guest tomorrow, Leonardo, but for now let her rest and protect her."
"Hai sensei."Leo bowed while saying and his father gave him a pat on the shoulder before leaving for his room.
"Well that couldn't go too bad." He sighed heavily and pulled the cover over her body to keep her warm and grabbed a chair to sit in front of the bed, to do what his sensei ordered him to do for the rest of the night.
The next morning where the sun doesn't show, the mutant water monitor's eyes begin to flutter and sit up to yawn and stretch.
"Eh... ¿esto no es la muerte?" Confused on why she is now in a warm comfy bed then sleeping on a wooden bench with a newspaper as her blanket.
"¿Dónde..Estoy..uah?" Her question was answered when she saw the mutant turtle sitting across from her, snoring loudly that his brothers could hear. She froze in fear when he choked through his snoring and began to open his eyes and yawned.
"Ahhh haaa!..wow I slept well even through, on a chair." He smiled when he noticed the girl was awake and well but frowned as she started trembling with teary eyes.
"Por favor no me hagas daño."
"She's scared of me. I can't blame her since I carry two large sharp weapons with me and I was stalking her..what can I do?" He said feeling something soft on his foot when took a few steps back, and saw his old panda plushie which gave him an idea. He picks up the bear and tosses it on her lap.
"Huh?" She hesitantly picked up the stuffed animal and stared at it. For a moment he thought this was a stupid idea since teenagers hate stuffed animals, but then he was quickly proven wrong when her small smile foam on her face and snuggled against her face.
"No one has ever been this nice to me before, thank you."
"You're welcome and sorry for frightening you off a building…and reading your journal without permission." Leo said, chuckling nervously.
"It's okay it's not like you understand spanish but what is your name, tortuga?"
"My name is Hamato Leonardo or my brothers call me Leo if you like." He said while bowing, the gesture made her giggle.
"Cool! so your parents must have really liked Renaissance artists to make you named after them. My padres on the other claw, name me Kimely Sanchez."
"What's wrong with your name? I think it is a beautiful name, but you can shorten it to Kim." Leo suggests. Saying that made her green cheeks tainted red and smile.
"Oh..uhm sure..no one has ever said that to me in a long time."
"It's true but may I ask, why were you up on that building in the first place?" The turtle teen asked curiously. Kim showed a sorrowful expression upon hearing that question, and honestly didn't want to answer out of the fear of resentment. Usually by people who don't understand her condition.
"Well..I..uh--
Grrrr!… grrr!… grrrr!
Fortunately, her stomach made a damning noise that made Leo chuckle in amusement.
"Sounds like someone is starving, don't worry I will handle making you some breakfast, any special requests?" Leo asked, unsure of his guest's standards on fine dining.
"Uhh..I usually don't eat..much but I would love scrambled eggs, two whole papaya, and avocado toast, por favor? " The water monitor asked and watched him leave the room to make her meal, before she could probably thank him for his generosity.
"Oh well..I suppose more reading for me until he comes back.
