Summary: Not entirely sure what possessed me to write this, but wrote this. Bella moves to Kanto. I might make it full story.

Giovanni, the renowned Viridian Gym leader, sat in the luxurious first-class cabin of the plane, returning to Kanto after a vacation in Unova. His sharp eyes scrutinized the rest of the passengers boarding the aircraft with irritation and disdain. Suppressing his laughter at seeing a dark-haired teenage girl stumbling and falling on her face, he shifted his gaze to the stunning view outside the window.

The Team Rocket Unova branch was a complete failure, and he was tempted to dismiss all of them.

The PL was breathing down his neck about his perceived neglect of his duties as a gym leader, and Lance was pushing the officials to replace him. The mounting stress was causing a severe migraine, and he could feel his blood pressure rising.

He needed to release his pent-up frustrations on the weak gym challengers.

All he needed to do was close his eyes; if only those two girls in the next aisle would shut the hell up!

He cleared his throat loudly, hoping to silence them. Though he heard a giggle and a quiet apology, their incessant giggling persisted, further fueling his irritation. He turned to face them, noticing one girl with wildly curly dark hair who seemed to be the giggler.

The other girl was facing him, with striking features - very fair skin, long dark brown hair, and large, widely spaced chocolate-brown eyes that hinted mischief. Her heart-shaped face had prominent cheekbones, a thin nose, a narrow jaw with a pointed chin, and lips too full for her slim jawline.

Giovanni and the girl made eye contact briefly before she turned away, her face flushed red. She buried her nose in the book she was holding - Wuthering Heights.

Something in her gaze made him feel...

Well, he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Was it nervousness?

No, it was irritation, but perhaps there was a hint of something else, a spark of defiance?

Giovanni couldn't tell.

I hurried to the plane and fell in front of everyone, thankful; I only heard one person laugh.

I glanced reproachfully toward the laughter; it was a man, maybe my dad's age. He had terse, flat, dark hair, and a Persian sat beside him.

I thought it looked out of place but realized it was me who was out of place.

This is first class; I couldn't afford it; it took all my and my mother's savings account for a third-class ticket.

We didn't know that Charlie, my dad, and Phil, my mom's new husband, had been saving up money for me.

They had initially planned to buy me a car, but when I said I'd live with Charlie, they used what they had.

I was born in the Kanto region to Charlie and Renée (then) Swan, but my parents divorced when I was a baby. My mom, being born in Uvona, hated how small the region was, took me, and together we fled Kanto. We moved to my mom's homeland, Uvona, in Nimbasa City.

I'd always hated Kanto; it was small and uninteresting, but I did like Charlie.

We sat on the plane in Mistralton City; I waved at mom and Phil as someone sat beside me.

My heart broke with each wave, and I was doing the right thing; I knew it.

Mom wanted to travel with her new husband, not sit at home with me.

'I can't wait to return home and sleep in my own bed.' The girl next to me yawned. 'Where are you from?'

'Nimbasa City.' I murmured.

'I was born in Driftveil City, but my mother and I moved to Pallet Town when I was 10.'

'I was born in Pallet Town; mom and I left when I was still a baby. My dad is sheriff there.'

'Are you Isabella Swan?!' She gasped.

'Bella.' I corrected as I faced the girl for the first time.

The young girl stood petite in stature, but her abundant, untamed, dark brown curls more than compensated for the difference in height between us.

Her complexion was fair, her visage a perfect oval, and her eyes shone a brilliant, clear blue.

Moreover, she possessed a stunningly beautiful smile.

'Omg, we're neighbors! We live next door to Sheriff Swan!'

I felt a bit relieved. 'Oh, that's cool.'

'I'm Jessica Stanley.'

'Bella Swan.'

'I was visiting my paw paw and participating in the Pokémon musical.'

'Are you a coordinator?'

'I dabble in it occasionally, but I prefer battles.'

My anxiety went up; I bet she's going to want to battle.

'I don't have a Pokémon license.' I threw out.

'Professor Oak lives in Pallet Town; he can help you.'

Professor Samuel Oak was like a rock star in his field; I'd written a report on him. Though I wasn't interested in getting a Pokémon license, I was more than willing to work with the Pokémon Professor.

'I have Pokémon; I could catch one for you or give you an egg I got from the daycare.'

'That sounds great.'

'Kids in the Kanto are more into the challenge than kids in Uvona,' Jessica Stanley explained, 'and you can barely walk through the grass without a Pokémon.'

'I'll keep that in mind.'

'I have a mind to take it on; paw paw says I need to focus on something other than boys.'

'Paw paw sounds wise.'

'Pawpaw would love to hear you say that.' She giggled. 'Hey, if I take the Pokémon Challenge, would you come with me?'

I felt myself smiling at the invitation. 'Sure, I guess.' I giggled. 'If my dad says it's ok.'

We laughed briefly before some loudly cleared their throat, earning another giggle from us both, but I covered my mouth. I politely apologized before looking at them; the man laughed at me.

He sported short, flat, straight jet black hair and had a clear olive complexion that would have been deemed beautiful in a girl, but on him, it was handsome in a delicate way. And his eyes...his eyes were as dark as mine, but somehow darker; they exuded an aura of danger.

I hid behind my book; I peeked out and saw him still staring. It was as though he was trying to figure out who or what I was to him.

Nothing, I was nothing, right?

'What are you staring at?'

'Don't look.' I whispered as she turned to him.

'Not bad.' She turned back to me. 'If you're grumpy 'dad's friend.' She turned away from him. 'Or homewrecker. He's got a homewrecker vibe.'

'He's got a dangerous man vibe.'

The flight was 14 hours, and Jessica and I talked the whole time. When we landed, Jess and I were chatting like old war buddies.

It was a moonless night when we arrived at Pallet Town; the air was cool and quiet as Charlie and I unloaded the cruiser. We decided to leave the unpacking for the morning and head off to bed.

"It's good to have you back, Bells," Charlie murmured, his voice feeling nostalgic as he patted Beth, his beloved Arcanine, demanding attention with gentle nuzzles.

I embraced her, feeling the warmth of her fur. Charlie had received her as a Growlithe when he joined the force.

Standing at 6ft, Charlie's curly hair matched my own in color. I had inherited my fashion sense, hair, eye, and skin color from him.

"It's good to be back, dad," I replied, careful not to call him Charlie to his face, as I never would.

"Mrs. Stanley mentioned meeting her daughter on the plane ride over here," Charlie remarked.

"Yeah, she's nice," I replied.

"She mentioned a lot of stuff, but she did say you were eager to meet Prof. Oak."

"Yeah-"

"He lives down the road; sometimes he helps on-"

"Do you think he'd be interested in meeting me?"

"I need to go by the lab later; you can tag along too if-"

"Let's go right now."

"Easy there, my little Sentret," Charlie said with a chuckle.

"Dad, I'm not a little Sentret anymore."

"My big Furret then," he teased.

"Please don't call me that in front of the professor."

"No promises."

"Hey," a voice interrupted our conversation.

Charlie and I turned to see Jessica Stanley approaching us, a tiny Pichu dashing behind her. She was dressed in a waist-length white tank, black pajama bottoms, and white flip-flops.

"Jessica-" I began, but noticed her scowl.

"Sheriff Swan, have you seen my mom?" she asked Charlie.

"Not since last night..." he replied.

Jessica scoffed as the Pichu nuzzled her ankle. "Maybe she had to work late," I offered.

"I'll bet she was."

"Bella and I were going to head to Viridian to have breakfast; you're welcome with us," Charlie invited.

"Sure, just let me get dressed."

When the cruiser came to a halt, Jess burst out and dashed towards the gym, her loyal Pichu hot on her heels. Without hesitation, I raced after them, a sense of foreboding hanging over me. A redheaded boy was in the process of locking up a few buildings away. Their voices carried through the air as Jess and the boy engaged in a heated exchange, before she stormed back towards me.

"Who's that?" I managed to gasp out.

"Silver, he's the guy's kid," came the response.

"Where- Where's-"

"Geez, Bella. Take a minute to catch your breath," was her exasperated reply.

"Thanks."

'I don't appreciate you yelling at me like I'm a dog, Jessica Stanley!' The boy flared as he stomped up to her.

'Silver,' Jessica laughed, 'I respect dogs.'

'Why you little-'

'I'm Bella.'

He threw me an annoyed glance, then turned back to Jessica. 'Congratulations.'

'I just moved here.'

'Once again, congratulations.'

'She's Sheriff Swan's kid.'

'Wait,' he turned to face me for the first time, 'are you Isabella Swan?!'

'Bella.' I corrected.

He was about my height; he had dark blood-red hair, a light olive complexion, and large violet eyes that flickered up and down. He was dressed like he was going to a meeting or a funeral.

'Well, Charlie's little Ducklett has finally come back to roost.'

'You know my dad?'

'Who doesn't know about the good Sheriff Charlie?'

Something in his voice or maybe his tone irritated me; I wanted to slap him.

'Something tells me you're quite familiar with officers of the law, Silver.'

'Bitch.'

'What did you say to her, Silver?!' Jessica grabbed his tie.

'Let me go!'

'Jess, Jess. He's not even worth it.'

'Learn some manners.' She threw his tie over his head.

Giovanni and his accountant, Jenna Stanley, sat inside the Viridian City diner, waiting for Silver.

Jenna trembled with every move he made; good, now she understood.

'I think we got off on the wrong foot, Jenna. May I call you Jenna?'

Mrs. Stanley stared at him, her eyes red from crying; Giovanni thought she looked like a Magikarp.

He cleared his throat and repeated his question; she nodded. 'Yes, sir.'

'I think we got off the wrong foot.'

'Yes, sir.'

'I am a man of patience-'

'Mrs. Stanley.'

Giovanni mentally groaned internally as the deputy Dewey knockoff, Sheriff Charlie Swan, approached them.

'Charlie.' She muttered.

'Sheriff Swan.'

He turned his gaze on him. 'Giovanni.'

He never liked the good Sheriff Swan, something about him just- to borrow an expression from the hicks in Pallet Town- irks the stew outta him.

Yes, Giovanni was counting down the days when he could retire Charlie Swan.

'What's the matter?' Jenna asked.

The bell rang; Giovanni glanced over and saw his son, Silver, walking over to him. He looked like he was, to borrow another expression, in a tizzy.

'What's got you in horn a tossing mood?' Giovanni asked, his eyes never leaving the sheriff.

He was borrowing expressions left and right.

'Jessica Stanley.' Silver flared.

Of course, it was Jessica Stanley; it was always Jessica Stanley. He's been hung up on that girl since they were 12, it's always Jessica, Jessica, Jessica.

'What happened, Silver?' Giovanni sighed.

'She was the one who started it!'

'Jessica's looking for you, Jenna.' The sheriff stated.

'Wasn't she supposed to be in Unova?' Giovanni asked.

'She changed her mind.' Sheriff Swan said, pulling Giovanni's attention back on him.

Just ignore him, Giovanni.

Deputy Fife is just trying to rile you, just keep your cool.

'What happened to Jessica?' Jenna asked, looking between the three of them.

'She's insane!' Silver hissed.

'You didn't come home last night and she's just worried, that's all.' Swan muttered.

'Jenna is fine, I'll send her home when I'm done.'

He started responding, but Jenna said, 'I'm fine; my meeting with Mr. Giovanni just ran a little late, that's all. Mr. Giovanni was just treating me to breakfast.'

'I'll send Jessica your way when she gets here.' Swan muttered as he went over to his table.

The sheriff's table was a few feet away from the entrance, and had he kept his eyes open, Giovanni would have noticed him, and he hated that.

Who knows what that hick Sheriff saw or heard.

No, no it's fine, Charlie Swan don't know know shit.

'Is Jessica alright?'

'She and her femmbot tried jump me.'

'Hmm.' Giovanni muttered as he sipped his coffee.

'Honest! Jessica came to me.'

And I bet you loved every minute of it.

The bell rang and Silver's attention turned to the door, then he turned to his phone.

'What did she want?'

Silver shrugged as Giovanni rubbed his temples and sighed, 'Silver, I'm working.'

'I'll bet.'

Giovanni groaned internally but wondered if that's what everyone else thought.

The bell rang, and Silver's attention turned to once more, but this time, he clutched Giovanni's Rolex.

Giovanni glanced over at the entrance and saw the little lady in question. Jessica Stanley walked in with big hair and big gold belt buckle, big cowboy boots and a black leather skirt.

No wonder Silver was so wound up.

She started to stomp towards the sheriff but turned to the entrance and opened the door, and in stumbled a girl.

The young woman was striking, with porcelain-like fair skin that seemed to glow in the sunlight. Her long, cascading dark brown hair framed her face like a shimmering curtain, drawing attention to her enormous, widely spaced chocolate-brown eyes with a glint of mischief. Her heart-shaped face boasted prominent cheekbones, a slender nose, a gracefully narrow jawline accented by a pointed chin, and lips that appeared too full for her delicate jawline, adding to her alluring charm.

Could it be...?

'Silver, who's that with Jessica?'

'Huh?' Silver gasped, dumbfounded. 'What did you say?'

'Silver, get your mind from under Jessica's skirt-,'

'Dad!'

'And tell me who that girl is with Jessica.'

As Silver stammered something about him not being a creep, Jenna looked up at the girl and muttered, 'That must be Isabella.'

'Isabella?! Who is Isabella?'

'Charlie's little girl.'

'Charlie's got a kid?'

'Same age as Silver and Jessica.'

'Why haven't I seen her around?'

'Charlie usually goes to see her.'

'Where is she from?'

'Unova.'

After our confrontation with Silver, Jessica wanted to run to Pokemart.

'It's a Walmart now.'

'Wait, there's a Walmart here?'

'Yeah, it's eye sore.'

She brought some potions, pokè balls, and some antidote.

'Is Silver the gym leader?'

'No, his dad is. Mr. Giovanni.'

The way she said his name sent a chill down my spine.

'Mr. Giovanni?'

'The guy from the plane.'

'Wait, wait, what?'

'The homewrecker from the plane is Mr. Giovanni, the gym leader.'

What?!

'What didn't you tell me then?'

'I didn't want to talk to him, and I still don't!'

'Why don't you like him?'

She turned away, red in the face. 'I already lost my dad; I don't want to mom too.'

'What do you mean?'

'My mother spends more time with her job than me.'

'Oh. Maybe you should talk to him.'

'I don't want to talk to him.'

'He's a parent, he might understand.'

'Tch. No. Let's just go.'

'What kind of Pokémon would you want to have as a starter?' Jessica asked as we walked back to the diner.

'Hmmm, I'm not sure.'

'The Kanto starters are Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, Pikachu, and Eevee.'

'An Eevee seems more me.'

'I have my Pichu.'

'I've never been much of a trainer; I actually let all Pokémon return home.'

'Ah, a lot of Unova trainers did, but I can always lend you one of mine, and we can walk up to route one and catch you a pidgey.'

'I still have Pidove, it's living with mom.'

'I thought you released it.'

'A bird Pokémon will always fly back home; Phoenix is more of a pet now.'

'My Pawpaw would tan my hind if I let go of my Pokémon.'

'How long have you known Silver?'

'Since we are like 12, he called me and hick, I wrestled him to the ground and sat on his face.'

'Maybe Silver wants a do over.' I chuckled.

'I'd like to do him over!'

'I bet he'd like it too.'

'Wha-?' She blushed when thought about it. 'Get your mind outta the Muk, Missy.'

'What's Muk spelt backwards?'

'You's a nasty little Sentret.'

'Hey!'

Jessica held the door open as I staggered in, the diner was full of people, Charlie was sitting in a corner, back against the wall, he could see whoever came and went.

I guess that's the cop in him.

'Bells, Jessica.' He waved us over, standing and holding a chair out both of us. Both Jess and I rubbed our eyes and ears as Charlie whispered, 'Jessica, your mother is here.'

'Is she alone?'

'Giovanni and Silver are with her.' Charlie muttered, Jessica groaned as I rubbed my head, eyes and nose. 'What's wrong, Bella?'

'I don't know, my ears are burning, the left side of my nose is itching, and my head is pounding.'

'Well, they say if you're ears are burning then somebody's talking about you.' Charlie muttered as he looked across the room.

'And Pawpaw used to say if your nose itches then company's coming.'

'Which side of your head hurts?' Asked Charlie.

'What do they say about that?

'Pawpaw said his Pawpaw used to say headaches are a warning sign' Jessica offered as she grabbed a menu. 'The left side is supposed to be for danger, and the right is you act without thinking about the consequences.'

'Which side of your head hurts, Bella?'

I looked up at Charlie and noticed him staring over my shoulder; I turned to see what had his attention.

In a booth, I saw Silver trying not to look over, a tiny woman with big dark curly hair looking at the menu, and a man.

He sported short, flat, straight jet black hair and had a clear olive complexion that would have been deemed beautiful in a girl, but on him, it was handsome in a delicate way.

And his eyes...his eyes were as dark as mine, but somehow darker; they exuded an aura of danger.

It was him, the man from the plane, Mr. Giovanni.

When we locked eyes, a tiny voice in the back of my mind whispered, he's going to kill you.
