Gon rushes forward to his opponent Satamander jumping over his incoming flames before delivering a kick to his head. Satamander attempts to swat him away, but Gon flips out of the way in time. Satamander then begins spewing a stream of flames as Gon continues running away from the fire. He is unsure if the flames are imbued with Nen or made out of Nen. As flames appeared in front of him he stopped to find himself trapped between two walls of flame he used Gyo on his eyes to see that there was no aura coming off of the flames.
"Nowhere to run! Thought you could continue beating up every one of us! Think again! Seeing you two just toy with us, humiliate us, just pisses me off! Let's hope that Pitou can heal from the burns you're about to get, you're done for," Satamander announced.
He then inhales deeply and unleashes a powerful flame breath, Gon quickly switches a defensive aura to protect himself as he is completely consumed by the fire. The Chimera Ants in the audience's eyes light up with interest. Finally thinking that annoying kid was done for. As Neferpitou couldn't help but chuckle.
"Such a fool," they responded.
As suddenly Satamander feels his jaw forcibly clamped shut and a sharp pain in his stomach. As he's reeling back he looks down to see that Gon didn't receive a single burn.
"H-how?! I unleashed all of my firepower in that breath?!" Satamander asked.
"My Nen protected me, simple as that, if you couldn't realize that then you have no chance of beating me," Gon pointed out.
"Belittling me? I am the strongest member of Welfin's squad! You want Nen?! I'll show you Nen!" Satamander announced.
Suddenly his fists, legs, and torso were being surrounded by a blue fire, with a horned mask resembling a helmet on his head. Until finally wings of fire sprout from his back. Starting to resemble less like a salamander and more like a mighty dragon.
Infernal Armor (Dragon Wings)
Satamander then goes in for a punch as Gon dodges, he can feel that the heat radiating off of these flames that they much more intense than his flame breath just by being near them. He then leaps into the air over the towering several-foot Chimera Ant before realizing something. He then stops and turns to ask "Hey, how come those flames aren't hurting you?"
"Sulfur Salamanders secrete a mucus that is flame retardant so that we don't burn ourselves. When I learned that I was a Conjurer I wanted to make flames more intense than the ones I could breathe just so I could reduce whatever I hated to cinders. That hate fuels my flames. And right now the thing I hate most is you, oh and one last thing." Satamander explained.
His wings then flapped and he was off the ground.
"These wings aren't just for show!" he shouted.
He then went for a divebomb attack. Gon rolled out of the way in time as the impact left a huge crater. As Satamander turns he sees Gon charging up an attack.
"First comes rock," Gon says.
"You idiot, you'll burn yourself on my flame armor. Why bother trying just give up already!" Satamander growled.
"Rock…paper…paper!" Gon shouted as he released a blast of aura that hit Satamander in the gut.
The blow caused Satamander to cough off some spittle and blood. Before realizing the flames around his torso were gone.
"How my Nen should be stronger than that attack, he didn't use that much aura in it," Satamander thought.
"What a fool, by focusing his Nen into armor made out of flames. While great offensively and defensively on paper. Once met with a projectile attack that can pierce said armor leaves him wide open as he can't use advanced Nen techniques to protect himself in those areas. That's all there is to it," Shaiapouf explained.
Gon begins charging up again by cupping his fists together. "First comes rock."
"Not this time!" Satamander yells out before rushing forward as he prepares to punch him with a fiery right hook.
"Scissors!" Gon yells out as a blade of aura extends from his hand and Satamander's arm is cut clean off and a massive gash on his torso.
Satamander screams in pain upon his arm being sliced off. Gon then delivers a divekick straight to Satamander's snout knocking him down onto the ground. With his opponent unconscious. Gon wonders how Killua is faring.
Simultaneously, while Gon was fighting Satamander. Killua had to face three opponents at the same time. The big fly man kept spitting globs of acid on Killua. And the goat one seemed to have some kind of freaky leech-like tongue with a proboscis that he can only guess what that does. Until he is caught by the snake-like one and is bitten on his left shoulder and electrocuted. The Chimera Ant then lets him go.
"How do you like that, poison and electricity? You're lucky to be Neferpitou's pet. You are facing a true electric user, Levinath-ack" Levinathan is then cut off with a swift chop in the jugular as he holds his throat in pain.
"Poison and electricity won't work on me dumbass," Killua said.
"Ooh, I didn't know that, kid's tougher than I thought," Pitou commented looking on.
"Indeed, it's a good thing they will be on our side soon enough," Pouf added.
Levinathan then begins to start laughing and chuckling.
"It doesn't matter if you can resist being stunned or killed by my electricity, my ability is already activated," Levinathan announced.
"Wha-" and before Killua could even ask what he was babbling about he finds himself punched by his left arm.
He gets a grip on it but finds he can't control it as it has a mind of its own.
"I learned that the brain has electric signals, and since I can naturally make electricity and am a Manipulator I made my ability to be able to manipulate said signals after shocking my opponents upon contact," Levinathan explained.
Electroshock Therapy (Raiden's Fist)
"Idiot, explaining it means I won't fall for the same trick twice," Killua said.
Killua then proceeds to dislocate his left arm. No use letting it get in the way and he can relocate it anyway whenever it wears off. He then breaks out one of his Yo-Yos and begins swinging them all over the place. Creating a defensive barrier that the three Chimera Ants are having trouble finding openings in. Beelzebubbs tries spitting acid at the Yo-Yo but it ends up doing nothing against the special metal alloy and just splashes off spritzing and almost hitting himself with his acidic bile.
"Bubbs you idiot, use your technique, I want to see what this kid looks on the inside, I want to taste his juicy blood already~," Asmophet said.
Beelzebubbs then inhales his breath and begins exhaling a strange green fume. Which passes through Killua's defenses.
"More poison, I thought I told them it doesn't work on-" Killua thought.
Then he finds his vision blurry as it starts to look like he's looking through a kaleidoscope. And he noticed from the smell of the fumes it reeked of alcohol and something else. Whatever that something else was it must have been some rare poison or toxin he wasn't prepared to be immune to.
"What's the matter? Hard to see? Yeah, those colorful mushrooms I ate today did the same for me. And thanks to my ability I was able to transfer it to you," Beelzebubbs explained.
Bad Breath (Weeping Geneva)
The Kaleidoscopic Mushrooms is a rare fungus that only grows in NGL. Causes whoever digests them to hallucinate various colors blocking their vision similar to that of looking through a kaleidoscope. Locals theorize that these mushrooms use this as a defense mechanism to prevent animals from eating them. Using their colorful markings and fragrant smell to alert animals of their hallucinogenic properties.
He then finds a sharp pain in his right shoulder as Asmophet is drinking his blood with his tongue. Before letting go and savoring the taste.
"Mmmmm yes, nothing tastes better than blood, I suppose I should show my ability now as well," Asmophet said.
He then began building up something in his throat before coughing up what appeared to be an egg. The egg hatches into a strange little creature that has some of Killua's attributes like his white hair and blue eyes only mixed with some other creatures as well. It was like a very small Chimera Ant the size of a baby.
Bloodborne Homunculus (Playing God)
"I used up a lot of the blood I drank recently just to make this one, let's see how it tears you apart~" Asmophet
The Homunculus screeches as it then copies Killua's claw techniques and begins swiping at him. Killua tries dodging but due to the hallucinations, he can't see where his opponent is attacking from. As the homunculus slashes Killua across the face and torso leaving slash marks. Until the creature latches onto Killua's leg and latches onto it with his teeth. He could feel that the homunculus was draining him of his blood too.
"He he he he he, my Bloodborne Homunculi take traits from myself and of the animals and people I drink. Usually, I have been only to make weak ones but your blood is so potent that I-" and before Asmophet could finish his sentence he started to feel queasy.
"You idiot, you drank his blood after I bit him and injected him with my venom," Levinathan pointed out.
"I couldn't resist okay just give me the anti venom and-" and is knocked out by one of Killua's yo-yos before he can finish speaking.
Killua then bashes the Yo-Yo onto the Homunculi that has latched onto his leg as it falls off before going limp as it bleeds profusely from it's head wound. As Killua then launches another one at Levinathan knocking him out before swinging it around to knock out Beelzebubbs.
"While I can't see for shit I still have other senses. I used you two yapping to figure out where you two were, and as for chubby over there I used my sense of smell. Wasn't hard to do cause he absolutely reeks and not just of alcohol," Killua said.
As the flames die Gon rushes to Killua's side.
"Killua are you okay? Your eyes look weird," Gon asks.
"Well I am seeing every color at once right now but other than that I am fine," Killua said.
The two then shared a laugh.
Welfin looks at this display and is disappointed.
"You idiots, you almost had him, if you were more coordinated you could have managed to take him down!" Welfin yelled out.
"Hmph, a sore loser even if it's your subordinates failing you Welfin, even then if Asmophet didn't poison himself I doubt it'd make much difference. Those kids are on a whole nother level," Hagya said.
"Now don't count my colleagues before they are out," a feminine voice said.
As a fox-like Chimera Ant appears dressed in a kimono followed by three others. One that was part sloth and part sheep. Another that was part dolphin and part tropical bird. And finally a raven Chimera Ant who wore a plague's doctor mask.
"Mammoon, if you're wanting to wager it's too late your friends already got their asses kicked," Leol said smugly.
"Oh I wouldn't be too sure about that, Sirenade has a lovely new ability that she wants to share in front of a live audience," Mammoon said.
With a smile, Sirenade puts a wooden crate down stands up on it, and with a twirl turns to the audience.
"Alright, you ready for some musical accompaniment to lift your spirits?! Baaphegor, Grimm, play me off! I like to call this number, Kingdom of Predators," Sirenade announced.
Baaphegor and Grimm then begin playing on makeshift musical instruments while Sirenade sings with an angelic voice. Suddenly a glow is being emitted from all of the Chimera Ants as they start to feel invigorated. As the knocked down Chimera Ants in the arena begin to glow too and slowly begin to get back up. Satamander uses his ability to make an arm made out of fire to replace the one he lost.
Levinathen hisses at the duo, Asmophet licks his lips, and Beelzebubbs starts drooling.
Vocal Valkryie (Bardic Inspiration)
Levinathen hands Asmophet the anti-venom as he drinks it before tossing it aside and rushing forward. The four Chimera Ants catch Gon and Killua in a pincer trap. Gon grabs Killua and jumps away to safety as the Chimera Ants turn to their opponents.
"See, one is already encumbered by Beelzebubbs technique and the other is too busy protecting his weakened friend to be able to fight. It's a war of attrition at this point. They are certain to lose as those four get the grand prize," Mammoon said.
"Well then perhaps a bet, I heard you have a lot of cool stuff you got from the human settlements and I want to pick something, if you win I can choose whatever I want from your horde," Hagya stated.
"Fair, but if I win you will have to forfeit all of the humans you capture to the Welfin squad so we can take the credit," Mammoon said.
The two shake hands as the battle continues. Beelzebubbs and Satamander use a fire breath and alcohol-filled Bad Breath combo to make a massive flame that almost hits the two Hunters. Gon kicks himself off a wall but his left foot gets caught in the flames and suffers a serious burn.
The four Chimera Ants edge closer eager to finish them off. As Killua then gets off of Gon.
"Killua no," Gon said.
"Don't worry Gon I got this," Killua said.
His hair begins to stand up on end as he is surrounded by an electrical aura. As Satamander comes to deliver a punch right before the punch hits Killua dodges out of the way and delivers a palm strike to Satamander's gut the force and electrical shock of the hit stunning him and knocking him unconscious. Beelzebubbs spits more globs of acid but Killua manages to dodge each one with ease before he jumps up to Beelzebubbs head and delivers a kick that sends the big fat fly falling backwards onto the ground. Asmophet tries to pounce at Killua from behind only to be grabbed and thrown into the wall at great speed and force. All that was left was him and Levinathan.
"No no fair. You think you're just so great cause you can turn your aura into electricity. I can produce my own so I am better!" Levinathan shouted.
"I'm sorry, who are you again?" Killua asked disinterested.
"You…bastard. My name is Levinathan. And I am your opponent!" Levinathan announced.
As Killua ran forward Levinathan released a pulse of electricity outward from himself catching Killua in it as Killua was about to punch Levinathan only to stop midway through. Levinathan flinches as he then looks to see Killua has stopped moving as he grins.
Pulse Wave (Zeus's Wrath)
"You're under my control now even if temporarily. Now, go fight your friend," Levinathan said.
His body being forced to move on its own, Killua then sprints towards Gon. Gon tries to dodge out of the only to be caught by the throat. Feeling the pain of the electrical energy and being choked by Killua. The Chimera Ants are at the edge of their seats as even Neferpitou and Shaiapouf are surprised by this turnaround. Mammoon then grins wickedly.
"It seems that you're going to have to hold up your end of the deal Hagya. How does it feel knowing your squadron died trying to defeat these two boys while the best of ours managed to do what your troops couldn't" she gloated.
Though suddenly Killua lets go of Gon. And stood there. Before turning back towards Levinathan with a malicious aura. As Levinathan tries to run he feels a sharp feeling in his arms and legs as he then can't feel them no more as he falls down and finds them both laying in front of him.
As Killua looks down on him coldly.
"H-how? When I shock someone my manipulation of them lasts at best ten minutes you broke free too quickly," Levinathan said.
Hearing that Killua then relocated his dislocated arm.
"It seems my electric resistance training helped against that too. The only reason you are still alive is Gon thought it best to keep you all alive to help us grow stronger. Next time we fight though don't try a cowardly act like that again, or I will kill you," Killua stated.
Killua then looks to Neferpitou.
"Hey, can you reattach these guys limbs? If we ever fight them again I don't want them to be handicapped," Killua said.
"Ah fine why nyat, you're the victors after all so I could at least do this for you," Neferpitou said.
With a snap of the fingers, Satamander and Levinathan were brought to Neferpitou as the other bodies were being carried out by other soldiers. Activating Doctor Blythe Piitou begins surgically reattaching the chopped-off limbs. All the while Mammoon is fuming at this.
"Oh what's wrong, pissed that you get to lose something," Hagya joked.
"Double or nothing I bet if the rest of the soldiers of my squadron can't beat him you can have two items from my inventory, but your squadron will have to do human hunting for us for a week," Mammoon demanded.
"Well, who am I to say no to that," Hagya said.
"Okay, folks this next number is for my squad, hope you're ready for, Hegemony of the Foodchain!" Sirenade announced.
As a new song is playing through the many tunnels within the arena a horde of Chimera Ants can be heard stomping through. Gon and Killua even in their current state still stand their ground. As a swarm of Chimera Ant soldiers come to attack them.
Meanwhile, Rammot has gotten the animals that Neferpitou requested. Dragging them along the ground in a net made out of rope that he got from an empty village.
"I knocked these animals unconscious just in case they wanted the animals alive but I still don't understand why they asked this of me, maybe Pitou has a weird taste in meat and was feeling hungry, ah whatever as long as they're happy I can see myself earning the title Royal Guard myself in the future. Now that will be the life, no one to order me around anymore except of course the king himself," Rammot thought.
As he trudges along, he sees the nest in the distance. Thankful that he is almost there. As lugging something as heavy as a tiger for several miles has started to make his muscles sore.
Back at the Chimera Ant Nest, Gon and Killua were surrounded by a pack of unconscious bodies that filled the arena. The resulting sight causes Mammoon to tug at her hair.
"Remember, double or nothing," Hagya reminded.
"Can I have the second thing from the pile I hope to find something cute," Hirin asked.
"Uh sure, Hirin, as long as I find something that fits me that is," Hagya said.
Gon still has some energy left but Killua fell unconscious from not being used to using his new technique Godspeed. He might not be getting up for a while. As he is then dragging Killua along a voice then stems from the stands.
"Wait!" shouted Bihorn.
"I refuse to sit idly by as these humans make a mockery out of us any longer, Lord Pitou, if you can heal the boy will you be willing to let me fight him? I need to teach the kid discipline," Bihorn pleaded.
"Ooh, our strongest Squadron Leader vs. Gon? Now that's something I'd like to see. Alright, I'll go heal them clean up the unconscious bodies and get everything prepared before the battle," Pitou said.
As various Chimera Ant soldiers were grabbing the bodies and dragging them away Welfin left with Mammoon and the others.
"Aww but I wanted to play another song," Sirenade groaned.
"Nah, it was too much effort to play all that music for so long, I think I am done for the day," Baaphegor said.
"Life truly is full of disappointments," Grimm added.
"I can't believe my entire squad was just beaten by two human kids. Even my officers. Just goes to show that the only one you can rely on is yourself." thought Welfin.
After Pitou is done treating Gon's burn and wounds with Doctor Blythe. Killua wakes up. Gon rushes over to him to hug him.
"Nyow nyow you two can do that on your time, you still have a fight Gon, just make sure to make this one extra special for me," Pitou said.
Gon then is escorted back to the arena where he then stands before Bihorn. The large Chimera Ant Squadron leader looking down at him.
"By the honor of my comrades, I will avenge them by defeating them," Bihorn said.
"But, we haven't killed anyone yet," Gon noted.
"That's not what I meant, you humiliated every single one of your opponents and made us all look weak. For their sake, I will beat you to restore our wounded pride. I shall show everyone you're not invincible," Bihorn declared.
It was then that he was building a tremendous aura as his muscles and body started to swell in size until he grew another foot in height.
"This is just a 15% strength increase, using this ability causes massive strain on my muscles and body, but the risks are worth it," Bihorn said.
Gon then got into a fighting stance against what might be a hard fight. His body was healed but its still drained of stamina somewhat, he is unsure if he can win this. However, that doesn't mean he won't try.
