He dragged himself across the floor, coughing up blood, memories of old flashing, oh, he was a pathetic man... Self-sacrifice for the village was a core ideal for the shinobi, yet he didn't do it, and he lost the change to become the hokage, spending years in the shadows of Hiruzen, his old friend. His rival. He never knew why did the man entertain his rivalry, yet he did.

Now... it was time for him to die as honourably as his old friend had.

Making his way towards the masked man and the traitor himself, he finally removed his shirt, exposing his chest, he pushed his chakra through the seals, activating them as they surfaced on his chest, leaving deep marks... "For Konoha, I will kill the both of you!" The old man shouted as the seal expanded from his chest, almost like a flood as the seal reached the boundaries of the bridge.

A buzz filled his mind, seeing the panic that he had created for his enemies... he'd die with a smile at least, enveloped by the seal, his vision slowly turned dark. What would Hiruzen think of him? What had he done in his life exactly... He always had claimed to work for Konoha, but he was just envious, wasn't he... For once in his life, he wanted to be on the main stage... He felt like he wasn't the main character of his life, and he wished he wa-

A thunderous shriek and all was gone. His feeble body had disappeared as if it had entered a void, the bridge was almost all gone. Dead without a trace...

Until a light had appeared where he had died.

Birds sung their songs as the morning sun rose in the sky. all was well. There had been many years since the destruction brought by the monster. Hiruzen Sarutobi, their leader had spent even the money in the treasury of his clan to make sure that the repairs had gone well, may he be blessed... As the sun shone brighter and brighter, the light seeped even through the curtains, soon enough they were pulled open by the headmistress.

"Wake up, children!" Her voice boomed through the room that was lined up with rows of bunk beds, with each bed having its own nightstand. Groans could be heard throughout the room as they woke up one by one, the headmistress making sure to wake up each and every one. The blond boy was already awoke, tidying his bed, preparing for the next day.

"Naruto, you're already awake huh...? Hm, good job."

"Thank you, ma'am." Naruto muttered, bowing to the woman. He was the container of the monster after all, better be careful. As the others woke up and passed through the hallways, he sluggishly made his way through. They'd have breakfast now. A gruel of rice and oats with two pieces of processed sausages on top with some kind of soft bread on the side. It wasn't good but to him, it was good enough.

That was his life now, yes, Danzo Shimura, the darkness of the shinobi had reincarnated into the body of this boy, despite this all being in the past... No matter, he was confident in himself, confident that he could do a lot better this once. He had only grown in experience. He always had heard stories of reincarnation in the fools who studied ancient books in the temples... he had never expected that they could be true.

He headed into the dining hall and digged into his meal, he had to be quick, he had a strict regimen and he wasn't going to give up on it. The body he had inherited certainly wasn't the best at chakra control, even getting used to the feeling of his chakra had been quite the challenge, but he could do it. The Kyuubi hadn't interacted with him ever... which was a bit suspicious.

The orphanage was a bit pathetic to the ones he had funded back in his days, sure, every child that was once in his orphanage would be forced to contribute to the ROOT but the education programs were simply amazing. Here? You were just fed, clothed and left to do anything you'd desire to. Hiruzen was always too soft. This program would create nothing but fodder for the shinobi force of Konoha, incapable of handling anything but basic escorting missions. A sigh left his lips as he made his way to the dormitory, he'd get into his training clothes then it was time to train this body.. train this mind as well. Again and again.

A starry night. Crackling fire... Naruto was sitting down by a log, watching the fires feed on the wood, he dropped the wood splits one by one. Two pieces of buri fish were laid by a stone on top of the fire, sizzling as the fats rendered and dripped down the stone, tracing a path to the fire. He knew the headmistress would be mad but he simply could not care.

"Naruto-kun." A voice called out to him, a voice that he could recognise... Hiruzen. "What are you doing here? Is there anything wrong? Would never expect you to escape the orphanage like that..." The man spoke out with a gentle voice, it was gentle but it would not be enough to fool him.

Naruto snapped his head at the voice. Now, it was time to act, not that he was ever the greatest at it.. "Ojii-san, the dormitory intrudes on my freedom."

"Ho ho, Naruto-kun, when did you learn big words like that?" The old man laughed for a bit, before coughing into his hand. "...you see though, Naruto-kun, you'll just have to endure that. You know that you are too young to have your own home. I'm sorry."

The softness in those eyes could not fool him at all. "But why, ojii-san? I go out to the park sometimes, you know, the one by the Tori no Tani restaurant? I see... I see kids there all the time, with their parents... Why, ojii-san? Why don't I have anyone to care for me...?" Crocodile tears filled his eyes and his voice cracked as he spoke. It was perfect.

"Your parents were brave individuals who sacrificed themselves for the village, you have to understand that Naruto-kun, one day, you will even get to learn who they were. I promise you." His sadness was apparent. Naruto was satisfied with that. "I'd best be going now Naruto-kun. Here." He handed the boy a napkin. Yeah, a napkin would fix it all. Thank you, Hiruzen.

He watched as the old man disappeared into the darkness, well, now it was time to sleep. He killed the fire, stomping down on it with stones and laid down on the log, dabbing away at the tears on his eyes before throwing away the napkin and closing his eyes.

Being in the body of the jinchuuriki was quite intriguing. He remembered back in his childhood, sometimes, his father would have pushed him so far that he couldn't practice for a week, but now? His energy was limitless, every minor wound he got in practice would just disappear, conditioning his knuckles had been quite easy for that reason, he usually did the conditioning by punching the gravel road. It was an odd sight to watch but it worked.

One day, while doing so... he met the elusive Uchiha Shisui. He could remember how easy it was the orchestrate the murder of this boy, but now, he couldn't do much.

"Hey, kiddo!" A voice called out for him, giggling like a madman.

And there Naruto was, punching the gravel, digging his fists into them, his knuckles all bruised and covered in dust.

Naruto turned to his back and their eyes met. The bright blue of his against the charcoal black eyes of the man.

"What is it, old man?" The blond grumbled, gaining a pout from Shisui. He wasn't that old was he? He obviously wasn't!

"Heh, I'll let that slide off," Shisui muttered, trying to make himself look cool in front of this kid with a 'charismatic' grin. "Plus, here you are punching gravel, what's that you have going on here? Conditioning? You're far too young for that, aren't you?" He tried patting the boy on the shoulder but was met with a swat.

"Any age is a good age to start, Uchiha-san." He wanted to continue on with his training. Why wouldn't the Uchiha boy just go away? "...I'd like to continue training, can you leave me alone?" Somehow, he felt... a bit insecure. As if the boy knew he was Danzo all along, and he too had reincarnated into his body after being killed by Danzo, and now he was here for revenge, was just mocking him... "Leave me alone!"

"Kid, relax! I won't hurt ya, plus, call me Shisui onii-chan, won't you?" Shisui practically shouted into the ear of the boy, holding him by the shoulders, he didn't know how to calm anyone down and that was for sure. Naruto tried pushing him off but the boy did not budge.

"Just get off me! Damn you!" Naruto shouted once more, his voice breaking as he shouted, and so Shisui knew he went too far with his 'friendliness'. Pulling his hands off his shoulders, he looked at the boy with a blank stare that had a sprinkle of regret. He didn't understand why was the boy so against touching but that was alright.

"Errr, sorry...?"

"Goodbye." Naruto whispered before walking away, leaving the Uchiha boy alone by the road. Why did he just... react so violently to that? Something was happening to him. His rationality, his emotional stability, it felt like it was all going down. Perhaps it had something to do with him being in the body of a jinchuuriki now. The chakra beasts did emit a constant amount of negative emotions, perhaps the chakra of the Kyuubi was being pulled into his own chakra coils?

Ah, he'd be better off going back to the orphanage by now... Tomorrow was an important day. Hiruzen would be visiting the orphanage. The orphans would be offered to join the academy, and he would join it as well. He couldn't allow himself to be in the shadows once more. No longer would he be scared for his own life. He wouldn't back away just like he had done when the great Tobirama had died.

I decided to write something, haven't written anything in a pretty long while but uhhh yeah I don't think I have done the greatest job but thank you for reading! And, please put a review and make sure to point out my errors if that's what you want, I want to fix my writing somehow.

So why did Danzo reincarnate as Naruto? Who knows. All I know is that I've never seen this happen in a fanfic so, I'll be doing that. I might publish one or two more story ideas to test them out. I'll pick one out of the stories and mostly focus on it. Please make sure to check on all of them. Thank you!
