Her body ached; it felt like she'd been through a car pile up or something. She felt herself stirring, she didn't wanna open her eyes but she knew she needed to, she had to find Jason and Robin, and figure out how her grandmother was involved with all of this. "Come On, Cassadine..." She urged herself as she slowly lifted her eyelids at the ugly, wall paper in the din of Spoon Island, She was at Wyndemere which meant that she was back in Manhattan. "Grandmother!" She groaned easing up off the ground, staggering to her feet prepared for the biggest fight of her life. "She's not here." the deep, husky voice came from behind her as she swiftly whipped around, punching the man in the face.
"Sam! It's me! Shit, you broke my fucking nose!" Her cousin Nikolas howled in agony as he doubled over holding his bloody nose. "Damn it, Nikolas! You scared the hell out of me!" Sam exclaimed, rushing to his side. She immediately regretted her reflexive punch, guilt washing over her. "I'm so sorry, I thought you were someone else." He winced, easing back up while still holding his nose. "I came in here to tell you that they just brought Robin and Jason here! I didn't even know that he was still alive!" Nikolas exclaimed. "It's a long story for another time! Where did they bring them?" Sam demanded as Nikolas smirked. "What's in it for me?" He asked.
Sam narrowed her eyes at Nikolas, frustration bubbling up inside her. "This is not the time for games, Nikolas. Lives are at stake here." Nikolas sighed, his smirk fading as he saw the seriousness in Sam's expression. "Alright, alright. They're being held in the east wing, in one of the guest rooms." and with that; Sam was rushing out of the den met by Andre, one of her grandmother's henchman who she swiftly dodged under his outstretched arms before driving her knee up, into his groin. He let out a groan of pain, doubling over before she then connected her fist with his jaw, his head landing violently against the side table, knocking him out.
Sam was soon sprinting down the long, marble corridor towards the east wing, her mind raced with the thoughts of what could be happening to Jason and Robin at that very moment. The Cassadines weren't exactly known for their cute and cuddly aspects. She hauled up the long, winding staircase, her body ached with exhaustion but she couldn't afford to stop, they couldn't afford for her to stop. Once she was on the last step, she narrowed around a hallway met with an obscene number of rooms. "Nikolas said that they were in a guest room...Which one?" She groaned before shaking her head. "Jason? Robin?" She was probably waking the dead, and Helena's men but it was worth it.
"Sam, we're in here!" Robin shouted pounding on one of the doors on the left where Sam rushed over to it. "Stand back!" She ordered before kicking the door, pain shooting through her foot as she yelped, hopping around the floor for a moment. "That was stupid...It works so well in Law and Order.." She winced before taking another crack at it, kicking the door with all of her might resulting in a loud, booming thud before the door flew open, revealing Robin and Jason tied up, Robin having used her foot to kick at the door. Sam rushed to their side, relief flooding her senses as she quickly began to untie them. "Are you both okay?" she asked, her voice filled with concern.
"I'm okay. Jason's been having really bad headaches! He had a seizure when they got us in here; and when he came out of it, he had a few new memories but something isn't right! and what about Patrick, is he okay?" Sam checked Jason who appeared extremely drained and feverish. "He's uh. Yes. I waited with him after the two of you were taken, and He is alive; and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Suzdal." Sam explained as she tore at the bindings that were holding Jason and Robin in place, once they were free; Sam and Robin helped Jason to his feet before walking him towards the bed, easing him down to rest. "What do we do?" Robin asked as Sam palmed Jason's forehead. "Stay with him." Sam instructed as Robin nodded.
Sam had never lived at Wyndemere, despite the name, she'd never even really considered herself a Cassadine so she knew next to nothing about the Castle. She'd spent some time there in her youth but not enough to know the ins and outs, she eased out of the room, reaching into her pocket and as expected, they'd taken her phone. Sam swallowed hard before walking back inside. "They took my phone, I need you to stay with him while I go see about finding one; or maybe a landline. Lock the door after I leave!" Again, Robin nodded before Sam was hurrying back out of the room with Robin locking the door behind her, she quietly walked down the hall towards a large oak door at the end that used to be her grandfather' office when he was alive.
"I can't believe that you let her get past you! Wait till the boss hears about this!" She could hear Bram and Andre hurrying up the stairs as she quickly slipped into the old office. The room was filled with dust, and grime! old photographs along the walls which were adorned with cobwebs and dusty bookshelves lined the room. She stayed by the door, careful to not make any noise until she heard them pass by her in the office, but more importantly, away from Robin and Jason. Once they appeared to no longer be a concern. Sam turned and began manuevering around the office, hand sweeping, catching a lot of loose dust. "This is fucking ridiculous." She sighed stumbling over boxes towards the desk and checking inside the drawer.
Inside was an old, rotary phone, a tiny spider crawling over some, old dusty yellow papers scattered around the phone. Sam slowly lifted the phone up out of the drawer setting it onto the table before lifting the receiver and blowing some dust from it before placing it against her ear, surprized to ear a dial tone. "Okay, now. How to dial.." She sighed before attempting to dial the number to the Manhattan police department before hearing an error message on the other end. "Shit." Sam groaned before trying again and finally hearing a connection. She held her breath as the line rang, watching the door nervously for one of her grandmother's men to open the door and find her. Finally, a voice answered on the other end.
"Manhattan Police Station, How can I help you?" The voice asked, a deep voice, she assumed one from a man as relief flood through her, she spoke quickly, her voice urgent and concerned. "Yes. My name is Samantha Cassadine. I'm at Wyndemere Castle on Spoon Island. My friends and I are being held against our will and we are in danger." The other end was quiet for a moment until the voice returned. "Sam? It's Lucky. Whose with you at Wyndemere?" He asked as she sighed shakily. "It's me, and Robin Scorpio..and.." She held back, the entire town hadn't heard from Jason in years. "and?" Lucky urged. "Jason Quartermaine." it was quiet on the other end once again before he spoke again. "We'll be there as soon as possible."
Sam nodded, swallowing hard before she heard the door squeak, quickly ducking under the table as it's pushed open. Her heart was racing as she covered her mouth hearing Lucky call out to her over the phone. "Sam? Sam? Are you okay?" Lucky asked. "Sam?" The dainty little voice left her sighing with relief as she climbed back up to see Robin standing in front of her. "Robin, I told you to stay in the room." Robin shook her head. "We need ambulance, something is wrong with Jason! and I don't know how to help him! He needs a nurologist and that's not exactly my area of expertise." Sam nodded. "Lucky, can you send an ambulance out here?" She asked. "Sam, I don't think we can get one out there." Lucky admitted.
"Than get an aircraft!" She ordered. "We'll do everything we can." and with that; the call ended as Sam slowly placed it down on the hook. "What did he say?" Robin asked as Sam moved around the desk. "He'll be here as soon as possible." Sam explained as they eased out of the room, hurrying back to the other side of the wall towards the room where they'd left Jason. When Sam walked in; She seen Jason lying motionlessly on the bed. "Jason?" her voice with panged with concern and dread. He slowly lifted his hand up letting them know that he was okay. "What's wrong?" She asked rushing over to him, kneeling down at his side. "My head, it feels like nails are being drilled into it, It's all over my head.." Jason grimaced with a groan.
"How long have you been feeling it?" Sam asked climbing behind him on the bed and laying his head on her lip, messaging his temple. "It's been off and on for a few weeks but it's never been this bad, for this long." Sam nodded continuing to try to help ease his pain. "Is this helping?" She asked him as he slowly nodded, his eyes getting really heavy, his arm posessively securing around her thigh pulling her closer to him before he drifted off to sleep. "What are we going to do?" Robin whispered as Sam glanced up, almost forgetting that she was there with them before shrugging her shoulders. "I don't know. We just have to make it until Lucky and the rest of the cops get here."
"Robin, I'm sorry. I should have never brought you and Patrick into all of this." Sam murmured staring down at Jason's head on her lap, stroking his hair. Robin was quiet for a minute before she cleared her throat. "Sam, when they dragged us in here. I was cursing you! I was furious! I blamed you. I blamed you for everything and Jason defended you. He promised me that you wouldn't leave Patrick, and you didn't; ans he promised me that you'd come for us, and you did, you have nothing to be sorry for and you've done nothing wrong." Robin placed a comforting hand on Sam's shoulder as she glanced down, nodding slowly. "How touching.."
Robin and Sam scrambled off the bed where Helena stood in the doorway; a small pistol pointed at all three of them. "Grandmother, let them go. They have nothing to do with this." Sam begged; guilt apparent in her pleads as a maniacal chuckle erupted from the old woman. "You stupid, self absorbed child; it is you that it has nothing to do with! well, you and this weak, naive little bird." Helena lapped her poisonous tongue towards Robin who just stood with both her hands up. "Then let Robin go! Grandmother, be smart! If you kill Robin, Anna and Robert will hunt you to the ends of the earth."
Sam stared nervously towards Robin as Helena cocked the gun, pointing it at Robin, she sneered, "You've always been such a tedious little nuisance. Time to silence you—permanently." Robin's eyes, large and fearful become even more alert when Nkolas rushed into the room. 'Grandmother, no!' He roared tackling Robin as the shot rang through the room; the bullet going through Nikolas' hip as both he and Robin landed on the ground before Sam lunged at Helena; wrestling the gun away from her.
"I'm sorry Grandmother, but." Sam cringed before punching the old woman in the face, sending Helena crashing to the ground. The police burst through the hallway with guns drawn, their voices echoing through the castle. Sam, breathing heavily, looked down at her grandmother, who was already stirring.
Before anyone could react, Helena pushed herself up with surprising speed, her eyes narrowing as she backed toward the bookshelf. "This isn't over, Samantha," she hissed, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth. With a swift motion, she pressed a hidden latch, and a secret door creaked open behind her.
"Grandmother!" Nikolas called out, clutching his wounded side as he rushed from the room, but Helena only smirked at him before slipping into the darkness of the tunnels.
Sam made a move to follow, but Nikolas grabbed her arm, wincing in pain. "Let her go," he said, his voice strained. "She knows those tunnels better than anyone... 'll never find her." Sam quickly rushed Nikolas back into the room where Robin appeared with her head on Jason's chest. "Sam, he's not breathing." Robin swallowed hard as Sam's eyes widened before glancing back at the bedroom door where Lucky Spencer and Mac Scorpio stood with guns drawn.
