Prologue: Like a Moth to the Flame
Moe Kamiji, the pro-hero Burnin has a great life, except for one part.
She is a pro-hero, one of Endeavor's 30 sidekicks, she is loved by the public and...
Her love life fuckin' sucks.
After 8 months with her new boyfriend (She has lost count of how many she has got since she left UA), she found him with a skank in their bed!
(She also lost count how many times they had cheated her.)
She banged her head against the bar counter. Rumi dragged her here after she found out, and now she was drinking with her and Ryuko.
"That guy always sucked anyway!" Rumi declared as she chugged her beer "I told you he sucked when you met him and look!"
Moe groaned and Ryuko patted her back "What Rumi meant-"
"She's right..." Moe grumbled as she lifted herself from her arms "I think I am becomin' a nun after this."
Ryuko frowned "Honey, I know you had a lot of bad experiences but, maybe it is because you rush into them to fast."
Moe sighed "Maybe you are right... I will take a break from dating and-"
Rumi grinned "Before that take a revenge lay! Take it out from your system!"
"I-" Ryuko opened her mouth before Rumi grabbed her from the arm.
"You stay here girl! We'll be right back." Rumi dragged a protesting Ryuko away and Moe sighed. If they come back, even with the hottest piece of ass they can find, she will turn him down. She isn't in the mood.
A glass of bear was placed in front of her, and she glared at the barman. He was taller than her, with messy green hair, emerald eyes, a scar on the left corner of his lip and on the bridge of his nose. He was wearing a loose black shirt, jeans with a white apron around his waist.
"On the house." He said with a small polite smile.
She glared at him "I don't like drinkin' alone." She said in a gruff tone and the bar tender chuckled.
"Well then," He grabbed a glass and poured himself the same drink "Cheers."
She gave him a deadpan look before shrugging. He has balls and she can respect that. She grabbed her glass and lifted it "Cheers."
They hit each other glasses before chugging down their drinks. The bar tender let out a sigh "That feels good, doesn't it."
Moe huffed "Sure... and why the drink is on the house?" She asked and the man chuckled.
"You look down, and a drink can always lift someone's back up. It sure does with me." He said and stretched his hand "Izuku."
Moe looked at it before smirking "You sure are gutsy. Moe Kamiji."
Izuku shrugged "I'll take it as a compliment. So, what got you so down in the first place?"
Moe groaned "It's a long story."
Izuku poured a drink for himself "The night is young."
"...And that motherfucker said that loved me and got me flowers-"
"...And then he said we were getting married-"
"...And we were going to adopt a cat and name it Wilson-"
Moe banged her head against the counter and sighed "And then I found him fucking that bitch."
Izuku who had been hearing to her, while drinking a lot nodded "That sucks it happened to you." He took a sip of his 10th beer "At least you know what to avoid for your next relationship. Besides, you should take it easy for a while, avoid dating until you are healed and then do it carefully." He said as he started to clean his glass.
Moe hummed "I am not one to take things slow y'know." She smirked "And how comes you are still sober? Is that a bar tender quirk you have?"
Izuku chuckled as he served a drink to the glass, he was done cleaning "Nah. Just good resistance, I guess. I start getting dizzy after... dunno, 30?" He shook his head "I am not counting anyways."
Moe laughed "Can you serve me some?"
Izuku nodded "It is my job. Anything in particular?"
Moe grinned "What's your favorite, I can deal with it."
Izuku raised a brow with a sly smile and went to pick up a bottle "This is exported from Peru; it is called Pisco." He served until her glass was half full and went to pick up another thing under the counter "But if we add Soda," He filled the rest of the glass with Coke, "It becomes PisCola."
He cut a lemon and squeezed some juice into it "For some extra flavor." He repeated the process for his own glass and lifted it "Cheers."
Moe grinned as she did the same "Cheers."
She gulped the drink in one go and hummed "This shit is good!"
Izuku shrugged "Simple but effective. Anything else?"
Moe is kind of a lightweight when it comes to drinking, so she might regret what comes out of her mouth next.
"What about some sex in the beach but at your place?"
She grinned as Izuku lost his smile and looked confused "You are drunk." He simply stated and she giggled and let a hiccup.
"So? C'mon, let's have fun! You talked to me for some reason, right?"
Izuku... frowned and sighed "I'll go fetch your friends, and-" He took out a napkin and wrote down something "If you are still feeling like talking anytime soon, here's my number." And with that he left.
Moe starred at his back and saw how Rumi was drunk and Ryuko was trying to calm her down.
She does regret saying that, because now she feels like a piece of shit.
A couple of days had passed, and she was at Endeavor's agency, ending her shift and put her hand on her pockets. And fidgeted with the napkin that Izuku gave her.
Once she woke up the next day of meeting him, she meant to call him, but... she felt it was something unnecessary. Sure, he was nice, and she might have offended him by insinuating he was after her to fuck her, but...
As she rode the elevator to her old apartment, she didn't even bother to pick the things from her ex's place, she took the napkin and read the number and the little note.
'Hope you feel better. - Izuku'
She frowned and as the elevator's door opened, she took her phone and marked the number.
"Hello?"
Moe took a deep breath "Hey Izuku, is Moe."
Right, because he is going to remember the drunk girl from 3 nights ago.
"Hey, you called. Feeling better?"
Moe blinked as she opened the door "Yeah, a bit... Look I wanted to say that..." What did she want to say exactly? She doesn't know why she called him exactly... "Do you want to go for a coffee or something?"
Izuku remained silent before chuckling "Sure, let me wrap up what I am doing, and we can go. Where do I pick you up?"
Moe grinned "Pick me up? I am picking you up! I invited you!"
Izuku laughed "How charming of you. Ehm, let's say in 20 minutes at the entrance of the bar I work."
Moe grinned "Good, see ya there!" and with that the call ended.
Once she was dressed up in her causal clothes, she went to the bar, The Continental, and saw him there, in baggy black pants, baggy black sweater and smiling, while waiting.
"Hey, Izuku!" She screamed to get his attention and she could hear him hum.
"Hey you. You surprised me with your invitation." He said and Moe shrugged with a grin.
"Well, you look like someone I can have a good time while being sobber." She smirked "And to show you, we are going to a coffee shop a friend likes."
Izuku chuckled "Well, since you were so gutsy to take me out, how can I say no."
Moe grinned "That's what I want to hear."
As they sat down Moe hummed as she read the menu "Any idea on what you want?"
Izuku hummed "A cake would be nice..."
Moe winked at him "Order anything. I am paying."
Izuku raised a brow before smirking "If that's the case, what you say about the red velvet to share?"
Moe grinned "Oh? I like how that sounds. A romantic, aren't ya."
Izuku leaned closer "You have no idea."
The coffee was great. The cake was tasty, and they had a good time talking. And because she now was sober and thinking clearly, she knows she won't regret what comes from her mouth.
Izuku walked her to her home, and she grinned at him "Want to come up for a drink?"
Izuku smiled "Lead the way."
