In the labyrinthine halls of the Olympus Lostbelt, where the air was thick with the weight of divine power and the hum of magic lost to Proper Human History, Kirschtaria Wodime walked with a measured pace. His mind was a maelstrom of thoughts, strategies, and calculations, yet his demeanor remained calm and composed. He was deep in contemplation, pondering the recent developments that had shaken their world.
Walking alongside him were two beings that carried an aura of divinity and power. With golden locks and clothes befitting their world of origin, the Dioscuri twins trailed behind their Master— leader of the Crypters
As he turned a corner, the grandeur of the hallways gave way to a more secluded chamber. It was here that Caenis, his steadfast ally and loyal Sevant, was recovering from their recent battles during their time in the Scandinavian Lostbelt. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of ancient glyphs providing a serene ambiance. Caenis, usually fierce and unyielding, was propped up also sloppily on a lavish couch, their body still bearing the marks of the fierce battle she had endured.
It was a better sight than before, given that they looked as if they were going to be on death's door when the emergency spell he personally granted them activated and brought them before him - one that was only supposed to come into play when the unthinkable happened.
And here he was, having to find out how exactly the unthinkable came about.
Kirschtaria approached them with a look of concern and curiosity. "Caenis," he greeted, his voice a smooth baritone, "Glad to see that you've awakened once more. Have you made steady enough progress on your recovery from your mission?"
Caenis looked up, their eyes blazing with a mixture of anger and frustration. "Barely," they muttered grumpily, wincing as they shifted their weight. "That damn fire giant was a real piece of work. Maybe if that damned fox didn't runway like the bitch she was, I wouldn't feel so much like shit right now."
"And here I believed you claim to be the strongest. I must admit it did put a smile on my face when you returned injured after all your gloating," the male twin scoffed with a smug grin.
"Pollux, tell your brother to play nice," The blonde Crypter scolded before returning his attention to Caenis. "So Koyanskaya finally left to fufill her own ambitions, did she? Hopefully, whatever she's up to now won't come into play against our own plans." It did not surprise him the mercenary pulled a fast one on them. Her loyalty had always been in question. At least they would not need to worry about anything similar from the real Apostles of the Foreign God.
"If it does comes down to that, then I'll skewer the fox myself as reperation for leaving me behind like that," The white-haired Lancer scowled, already imagining such an outcome. "But that's not the real half of it."
Kirschtaria raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? Do tell."
Caenis took a deep breath, steadying herself before they spoke. "Chaldea is still around, Kirschtaria. They've managed to survive just as we've suspected and, worse yet, Olga Marie Animusphere is alive. And not just that— she's back with some kind of new power and became something called a "Kamen Rider". Wodime, she was the demon queen that saved Chaldea from our assault on their home base and behind their disappearance from the world."
The revelation hit Kirschtaria like a bolt of lightning. He stood in silence for a moment, processing the information. "Olga Marie… alive? That's… quite unexpected." He paced the room, his mind racing. "What kind of power does she possess now? How did she survive?"
"Like hell if I know." The spear wielder Servant snorted, "I got knocked out before I got the chance to see it in full force. What I do know is that—"
Before Caenis could respond, a shimmering holographic projection appeared in the room. It was Scandinavia Peperoncino, commonly known as Pepe. His flamboyant appearance was a stark contrast to the somber atmosphere, but his eyes were serious as he looked at his comrades.
"Hello, darlings," Pepe greeted with a small wave. "Came here as you requested, Wodime! Though from the looks of things, I must be the only one who wasn't too busy for this little meet up." He stopped himself when he sees the severe expression on the Master and Servant's faces, "I see you two got some big news to deliver."
Kirschtaria nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Indeed. Olga Marie… has somehow returned from the fate Flauros trapped her in." The fact that the usually composed facade of his colleague fell even for a moment spoke volumes at how shocking this revelation was, "With newfound powers at that. If what Caenis is telling me is true, she is the demon queen that Koyanskaya fought at Chaldea's base. This changes everything. Pepe, any ideas on how she could have come back?"
Pepe sighed, running a hand through his ethereal hair. "Hmm… It's hard to say. For one, we still are not sure if she was truly dead as a result of being thrown in CHALDEAS. If so, then whoever it is must not be truly little Olga. But if her soul did survive, then it could be any matter of ways like putting her soul inside a puppet."
Caenis interjected, her voice laced with frustration. "However way she came back, she's dangerous. She claims to have struck down Hiryu Kakogawa and is most likely the reason why Ophelia Phamrsolone had gone missing before the Scandinavian Lostbelt went under. We've got a serious problem on our hands due to her."
Kirschtaria nodded, his mind already formulating potential strategies. "We need to understand the source of her new powers. We cannot afford to underestimate them."
Pepe's hologram flickered as he leaned in, his expression curious. "That begs the question, who brought her back? I don't believe the folks from Chaldea has any way of doing so. Even if they hold several Holy Grails, it would be beyond them to attempt bringing someone from death."
Kirschtaria pondered this for a moment. He recalled his simulated trials of the Singularity and knew for a fact none of them entertained the notion of reviving her or anyone else. That was not their way. Perhaps something has changed since their victory in the Timeless Temple but it was difficult to know for sure. What wasn't difficult to know, however, was that something that felt… too coincidental. "As far as we know, she returned just as we launched our attack on Proper Human History. Perhaps she was revived by the World as a Servant… No, she shouldn't be able to become one…" There was another possibility… Could it have something to do with the Foreign God themselves…? The notion seemed impossible but they managed to bring him and the others back from the brink of death; perhaps something similar happened with Olga.
Caenis grunted in agreement. "Whatever it is, we need to find out fast. We can't let her and Chaldea get the upper hand."
Pepe's hologram shimmered with a mischievous smile. "Well, it seems we have our work cut out for us, don't we? But it's all part of the fun, isn't it?"
Kirschtaria allowed himself a small smile, appreciating Pepe's lighthearted approach despite the gravity of the situation. "Indeed. Caenis, how soon will you be ready to move again?"
Caenis rolled her shoulders, testing her mobility. "Give me a bit longer. I'll be back on my feet and ready to fight soon enough. I'm not letting some resurrected magus and her new tricks slow me down."
Kirschtaria nodded. "Good. We'll need all hands on deck for what's to come."
As the conversation continued, Kirschtaria's mind drifted to the broader implications of Olga's return. Whatever led to her revival was something they needed to figure out and fast. Chaldea's survival was a variable they considered— Olga's was not, especially with the powers she apparently has now. They needed more info and quickly.
"Pepe," Kirschtaria said, turning to the hologram, "I need you to gather as much intelligence as possible on Chaldea's movements, especially Olga's, and inform the others of this turn of events. We need to understand the full scope of her capabilities and how she's using this new power."
Pepe nodded, his usual playful demeanor giving way to a more serious expression. "Understood, Kirschtaria. I'll keep an eye out and report back with anything I find," he told him before letting out a frustrated sigh. "And I'll tell that Apostle that's setting up in my Lostbelt too. I may dislike him but it's better if he is in the know too."
Kirschtaria turned back to Caenis, his gaze steady. "And you, Caenis, rest and recover. Your strength will be crucial in the battles to come. We'll need your fury and tenacity."
Caenis smirked, her eyes burning with determination. "Don't worry about me, Kirschtaria. I'll be ready to take the fight to them. Olga won't know what hit her."
With a nod, Kirschtaria took his leave, his mind already working through the myriad possibilities and potential strategies. The Olympus Lostbelt was a place of gods and legends, but even here, the unexpected could still turn the tide of fate. And with Olga Marie Animusphere's return, the stakes had never been higher.
It took a while for her to register she was awake. Her head felt numb and not all her thoughts were jumbled together. After what felt like an eternity, Ophelia sat up on the bed with a groan, holding her throbbing head in her hands.
"Finally up? That took forever…" A grumble to her right made her look in that direction and Ophelia's uncovered eye widened in disbelief.
"Kadoc? You're alive?" Or she was dead. The last thing she remembered was Olga's smiling face as the revived Director pulled the trigger.
The other Crypter simply snorted as he sat on the other bunk across from hers. "Did they tell you I got myself killed?"
"That Kakogawa person sent us a message that he killed you," Ophelia bluntly answered. "But clearly, he was more inept than we thought if he was wrong about that."
"I don't know if I should feel offended or not," grumbled Kadoc again before he started telling her what happened in his Lostbelt. That one of Hiryu's followers took his Servant's body and did something to her to bring him here as well as him getting stabbed. "After that, Chaldea took me in and patched me up before throwing me in here." He glanced around the metal room that was Chaldea's holding cell. "Didn't think I'd find myself here but better than dead. Maybe…"
"How long was I unconscious?"
"Hard to say without a clock here but about three days," he answered. "Could be longer depending on how long it took them to get back here after heading to your Lostbelt."
Right… Chances are that her Lostbelt had been destroyed now if she's here in Chaldea. However, there was no time to dwell on her failed mission— it was always doomed from the start since her ultimate goal was for Kirischtaria to succeed. No, what was more important now was… "Olga Marie Animusphere is alive." She stated, looking directly at Kadoc expecting that he knew too.
"Yes, I noticed. She was there when that bastard appeared in my Lostbelt. Apparently there's some history with her and that Kakogawa, not that it matters now. From what that Fujimaru told me, that fool that usurped my Lostbelt got himself killed in yours," Kadoc let out a laugh, wishing that he was there when it happened. Oh well, just knowing that bastard failed right after taking his Lostbelt was enough to bring a smile to Kadoc's face.
"Fujimaru?" It took her a moment to recall who that was: the Master who somehow overcame the Seven Singularities and the Incineration of Human History.
"He's usually the one to bring us food. Animusphere came here once, the first day when they brought you in, but she only glared at me before walking out. No doubt she's waiting for you to wake up before interrogating us together." That was the likely scenario but Olga couldn't help but wonder what Olga or Chaldea planned to do with them.
Unfortunately, all they could do now was sit and wait for someone to open the door.
Standing beneath the broken grey sky was a strange feeling. It had been a while since Finis was last here but they would not be here for too long.
They simply wanted to check up on things before returning back to the other broken world to move on with their plan. As they had expected, everything was still in ruin with no signs of improving. 'I have to hurry. I have to set things right…'
For now, Finis sped up towards their destination— a mostly standing building where some of the remnants of this world lived.
As soon as they walked inside a place that could once be considered a home, they were greeted with a gaggle of relieved eyes and smiles - a sight that warmed their heart. The survivors were a ragtag group, their clothes tattered and faces lined with exhaustion, but their eyes held a flicker of hope that Finis's return seemed to ignite.
"Finis, you've returned. How close are you to completing your mission?" Came from an older woman with graying hair, her voice weary but laced with a cautious optimism. Her name was Krona, one of the few who had managed to maintain a semblance of leadership among the survivors. Her once vibrant green eyes now held the weight of too many lost battles, yet she remained a beacon of resilience for the others.
The first question made Finis look down at the ground with a frown.
"I've only started with the second phase. Right now…" They took out one of the Another Ridewatchs DiEnd gave them and tightened their hold on it. "…I came back to see how everything is doing here. How have you all been while I've been gone?"
"Not well," another survivor answered, his voice tinged with despair. This was Lucien, a burly man with a shaved head and a face marred by several old scars. He had been a soldier once, before everything had fallen apart, and the hardness in his eyes spoke of too many friends lost. "Another group got massacred a few days ago, and another group went missing before that."
'There's not much left then… No, that just means I have more reasons to keep going until I suceed,' Finis thought and nodded with a determined face. "I understand. I'll fulfill my mission as soon as I could."
"Why are we even trusting what that person said anyway?" A third voice scoffed, dripping with skepticism. This came from Vespera, a younger woman with a sharp, angular face and dark hair cropped close to her head. Her blue eyes flashed with suspicion and anger, her posture tense as she leaned against a crumbling wall. "Did you say it yourself? He's using you for his own plans!"
"It doesn't matter if he's using me - so long as it could lead to our world surviving," Finis glared at them. Would it hurt any more to have faith in their plan? "At the very least, he showed me it is possible that broken worlds could survive. All I need to figure out know is how to do the same to ours." What happens then… No, that was not important, they could figure that out later.
Now that they confirmed what was going on back in their world, Finis bowed out and left the ruined building. It was time to head back and resume her plans.
Once they reached a suitable place, Finis opened a path back to that world. They stepped through it and emerged where they needed to be. Or to be more precise, in front of where they needed to be. An unseen tear in reality within the Lostbelt— according to him, this would serve as a way to be reach this place's Tree of Emptiness.
They had to be quick though before they were discovered, something Finis thought already happened as they felt an all too familiar presence watching them but did not see anyone around.
Regardless of what they felt, Finis reached back into their pocket and took out one of the tools given to them to aide in their mission. "Could a card truly hold the power to tear into reality…?" They loudly wondered before shaking their head. No time like the present to see if it worked. Finis looked ahead at the unseen tear before tossing the card at it. It shone as it flew through the air and striking something invisible before the space before them shattered like glass.
With the tear now open, Finis took out one of the Another Ridewatch again; the mutated Rider that served at the clock face stared back of them. It was slightly unnerving so upcloase but Finis steeled themselves. Taking a deep breath, they pressed the button on top, activating it—
"Shinobi!"
—before tossing it into the crack in reality. The tear immediately repaired itself but their job here was done. As quickly as they arrived, Finis disappeared; all they need to do now was wait and hope for the effects to take hold within this Lostbelt…
Koyanskaya's consciousness slowly resurfaced from the depths of darkness, pulling her back to the realm of the living. Her eyes fluttered open, the soft, warm light filtering through a canopy of unfamiliar foliage above her. She found herself lying on a simple bed that was comfortable enough. She groggily pushed herself up, her muscles aching slightly from whatever strange portal that damned self-proclaimed merchenary pushed her through.
As she sat up, she took in her surroundings. The room, if it could even be called that, was unlike anything she had ever seen. The walls were blanketed by made of a living, breathing plant vines, shimmering with a faint iridescence that pulsed rhythmically The bed she lay on was situated in the center of what seemed to be an indoor garden. The air was thick with a sweet, intoxicating fragrance, a blend of scents that seemed to lull her senses into a deceptive calm.
Koyanskaya frowned, her sharp mind already piecing together fragments of what had happened. She remembered the battlefield, the chaotic clash with Caenis against the green monsters, the sudden arrival of the Valkyries, and then... him. The passing-through "Kamen Rider" with that infuriatingly casual demeanor. He had bested her, somehow manipulated time itself to render her powerless before she could break free. And now, she had no idea where she was or how she had ended up here.
"Damn it all to hell," She muttered under her breath, cursing her overconfidence. She should have just let him leave with whatever it was he wanted instead of provoking him. Her arrogance had always been both a weapon and a weakness, but this time it had clearly backfired.
She took a deep breath, steadying herself. There was no point in dwelling on past mistakes now. She needed to assess her current situation and find a way out of this... wherever she was.
Before she could fully gather her thoughts, the door—or rather, a section of the wall—seamlessly slid open, revealing a figure that made Koyanskaya instinctively tense up on instinct. The person who entered was a young girl, or at least, she appeared to be; no older than your average schoolgirl. Her hair was certainly styled in such a manner, and she had an almost playful look on her face, though there was something distinctly unsettling about her presence. Despite her almost unassuming demeanour, Koyanskaya could sense the malice that lurked beneath those wide, bright eyes.
"Ah, you're finally awake!" The girl chirped, her voice saccharine sweet, as she sauntered into the room with a casual confidence that immediately put Koyanskaya on edge. "I was starting to think you'd sleep the day away."
Koyanskaya narrowed her eyes, quickly masking her inner turmoil with a carefully crafted facade of innocence. The fact that all of her more mystical features - her tails, her claws, etc - were hidden away from the world made the performance she was putting on all the more authentic. "W-Where am I? Who are you?" she asked, allowing just the right amount of confusion and vulnerability to color her tone. It was a practiced art, one she had perfected over time, playing the role of the helpless when it suited her.
The girl tilted her head, regarding Koyanskaya with an almost amused expression. "You were in pretty bad shape when I found you yesterday. It was quite the mess. But don't worry, I made sure you're all patched up."
Koyanskaya blinked, feigning more confusion. "Yesterday? I… I don't remember… I was just walking around, and then… a bright light overcame me." She let her voice trail off, acting as if the memory was too foggy to recall.
"So that fox's powers of creation had other effects than the expected ones," She brunette muttered to herself, loud enough for Koyanskaya to hear. The girl the smiled widely, but there was no warmth in it. "A little lost lamb, are you? Wandering around without a care in the world? That's not very smart, you know. You could get hurt."
Koyanskaya inwardly seethed at the condescension but kept her expression neutral, allowing only a hint of nervousness to show. "I didn't mean to get into any trouble. I'm just trying to go home. Please, I really appreciate your help, but if you could just tell me where I am…"
The girl laughed, a sound that sent a shiver down Koyanskaya's spine despite herself. "Oh, you're far from home, little fox. And I'm afraid you're not going anywhere until we settle a little matter first."
Underneath her, Koyanskaya's hidden fox ears twitched slightly at the mention of her being a fox, though she maintained her innocent act. "Settle? What do you mean?"
The girl's expression shifted, the playfulness in her eyes sharpening into something more predatory. "You owe me, dear. I saved your life, after all. And now, I need you to return the favor."
Koyanskaya's mind raced as she processed this new information. The girl wasn't just some random passerby; she had an agenda. But Koyanskaya was no stranger to playing along when the situation demanded it. "Of course, I'm grateful for what you've done. I'll do whatever I can to repay you," she said sweetly, inwardly calculating her next move.
The girl seemed to see through her act but didn't seem to care. Instead, she stepped closer, her demeanor shifting from saccharine to serious in an instant. "Good. Because I have a little job for you. There's someone I need you to help—an old friend of mine who's just recently gotten back to his true self. He could use someone at his side while he's got his special little project going on."
Koyanskaya's mind worked quickly, trying to gauge the level of threat this girl posed. She was clearly not someone to be taken lightly, but there was still an air of arrogance around her, as if she believed herself to be in complete control of the situation. Koyanskaya decided to push her luck, keeping her tone light and airy. "And what happens if I say no? If I just want to go home?"
The girl's response was immediate. Without warning, she pulled out a sleek, futuristic gun and leveled it at Koyanskaya's head. The smile never left her face, but her eyes were cold and unyielding. "Then I'll send you home in a body bag. Is that clear enough for you?"
For a brief moment, Koyanskaya considered her options. She could strike now, take the foolish girl by surprise, and potentially overpower her. But the gun, and the sheer confidence in the girl's attitude, made her hesitate. There was something off about her, something that suggested this wasn't a simple bluff. And Koyanskaya was nothing if not pragmatic. She had survived for so long by knowing when to fight and when to bide her time.
So, instead of lashing out, Koyanskaya allowed her eyes to widen in feigned panic, her body trembling slightly as she played the part of the frightened, innocent victim. "O-Okay, okay! Please, don't hurt me! I'll do whatever you want!"
The girl's smile returned to its earlier sweetness, though it was now tinged with a hint of satisfaction. "That's more like it. Now, wasn't that easy?" She stepped back, lowering the gun but keeping it in hand as she eyed Koyanskaya with amusement. "You're a smart one. I like that."
Koyanskaya internally seethed at the humiliation of playing the part of a sniveling coward, but she forced herself to remain calm. Outwardly, she gave a shaky nod. "Y-yes… I'll help you."
The girl beamed, clearly pleased with herself. "Good. You can call me Beroba. We're going to get along just fine, you and I."
And another chapter down folks! We decided to shake things up a bit by having things from the POV of other folks that wasn't Chaldea here!
