Unknown Ice Realm
RD-ST1 let out a screech and the five drones started firing plasma blasts at the drivers. Kurt activated his energy ball launcher and blasted two drones while Mark hit the nitrox 2.0 and rammed his car into a third drone. With that done the two brothers took off and the remaining RD-ST1 and RD-S1 drove after them completely forgetting about Nolo. Nolo launched his grappling hook at the perfect angle and ripped the rear axle from the remaining RD-S1 car, this caused it to spin out of control and slide off the track; it fell into the icy waters below. RD-ST1 knew it stood little chance of beating the humans but it had to try. It let out a screech and continuously fired plasma at the two humans in front of it. Mark and Kurt smiled at each other and executed their new maneuver. They each fired their grappling hooks into the ice and swung out over the track, their momentum carried them back onto the track just in time to crush RD-ST1 between them with a resounding crunch. They both let out whoops of excitement but Nolo got them back on track "Very impressive guys but, we've got a race to win." Nodding at that statement all three put their cars in gear and shot off.
Things were coming to a head with Tork and Vert's group. RD-L1 and his squad were gaining on them and charging up their energy blasters. Karma and Vert used their jets and their momentum to fly away from the balls of plasma. Two RD-S1 drones got on either side of Shirako with the intention of trapping him between their two cars and forcing him off the track. Shirako saw this and smirked "Time to pump it up, Bassline". He hit a small lever on his center console and panels slid open on the side of his car; this revealed his upgraded stereo and he activated his favorite song (which you can find on YouTube with this link watch?v=XrCGMkQDnto). The effect was instantaneous the two drones were pushed off the track and sent shrieking into the frozen water. RD-L1 and his other two comrades immediately attacked Taro and Tork. They both activated their new upgrades and metal armor plating covered their cars in seconds. The plasma blasts merely bounced off with their improvement, Taro and Tork whipped their cars around to engage the Drones. Taro engaged the two RD-S1 drones and right before he hit them activated his armored plow. As soon as he hit them, the Drones were pushed off opposite ends of the track and into the frigid water. Tork decided that RD-L1 was his. He activated his Nitrox 2.0 and crushed the drone truck like a soda can. After that was done they deactivated their armor and found that Shirako, Karma, and Vert had continued ahead after seeing that they could handle the Drones. They didn't want to be the last ones through the portal so they raced to catch up.
As they drove away, a Recon Drone was spotted hovering. It had captured the new abilities of the human cars and was about to transmit the data to headquarters when a random energy blast hit it and destroyed it. It was Kurt who had spotted it, he had been driving by with Nolo and Mark. Seeing his chance he took the shot and scored a direct hit. He let out a chuckle and said "Eat your heart out Kadeem." The three drivers then sped up trying to catch up with the main group.
Shirako was currently in the lead as he had continued driving after dealing with the two drones. He saw the finish line up ahead but he saw Kurt and Mark Wylde up ahead. He was shocked but then he thought about it. They were in last place after wiping out with Nolo and if they were actually able to get ahead of everyone else where was Nolo? He racked his brain until he got it. These two had to be Silencers, they were using their famous cloaking technology. They thought if one of their family got to the portal first no one would ask questions. He sped up and tried to overtake them but they kept blocking his way in one form or another. He knew they wouldn't hurt him and he wouldn't hurt them either but this was still a race to the portal so he sped up again and right before he hit them he activated the jets on his car. This allowed him to jump over their blockade and get in front of them. He saw his chance and hit the Nitrox Afterburner. With this flowing through his car he rockets towards the portal. The portal he noticed has a strange-looking word on it, *Isaz. He passes through the portal first and ends up back home.
The Silencers curse, which only comes out as garbled static and they pass through the portal as well. Mark, Kurt, and Nolo catch up with the rest of the group and they all pass through the portal one by one. As Shirako passed through the portal there was a shimmering of light in his car and a floating stone tablet appeared with a strange symbol carved in it. As the other drivers came through Shairako showed each one this strange stone tablet with the symbol carved into it. Nolo and Tork walked up "What is this thing?" Tork asked. Loni and walked over and grabbed the tablet while looking at it intently. After studying it for a few seconds he looked around at the drivers and said "I think these tablets are supposed to function like the accelechargers. They are meant to give you a leg up in the various realms." All of a sudden ancient hieroglyphics appeared on the back of the tablet. After looking at the symbols for several minutes was amazed. He looked at the group again and said "This is a message from the Accelerons, it says that if we carve this symbol somewhere on our vehicles then we will be able to obtain the power of that realm. Quick Shirako take this knife and carve this symbol on your headrest or something."
Shirako did so and the drivers wondered what to do next. Karma piped up at that point "The purpose of this last realm was traction. If you overdid your speed or hit your brakes too hard you would lose traction. That must be what the symbol does." Deciding to test out this theory they spilled a lot of oil on the ground and Shirako tried to brake through it. To his shock he never lost traction, he was able to stop in two seconds flat. They all smiled at this revelation. Previously only the Drones could share the properties of the accelechargers but now they could share these abilities as well. This was a game-changer. Tezla saw this and smirked. He called out to the assembled drivers "All right everyone, start carving that symbol on the inside of your car hidden away. If the Silencers or the Drones see that symbol then they will gain that power too. You all have improved tremendously but this race is far from over. Now get some rest you're going to need it."
Review: Acceleracers was an integral part of my childhood and I recently got the chance to watch those movies again. Those movies were pure nostalgia and years ahead of their time (in my opinion at least). I wanted to try my hand at writing a fanfiction for this underrated series and hopefully bring some more fans into the Realms ;) Are you ready for the race of a lifetime? Let's find out together
