Vic has been in Philadelphia for three years raising her daughter what happens when she brings her self and her daughter back to Wyoming (originally I wrote this before season six was ever a thing so that’s why it’s a little wonky)

1. Part one

Emma, this is Wyoming

Well it's been 3 years since Victoria Moretti left Wyoming with her unborn daughter. Now she's back with her 3 year old daughter who she decided to name Emma. 2 possible men could be the father, Emmon or Travis but Vic never found out which one it was officially *she has an idea*. Of course she wished it was former sheriff Walt Longmire's baby but nothing like that never ever happened between them. Right about now Vic and Emma are on their way to Asabroka county. First stop: The station. Vic parks her car and gets Emma out of her car seat, they make their way to the front door and walk right up those steps and when they walk in Ruby is at her desk.

Ruby: May I help you two?

Vic: Are you shittin me?

Ruby: Vic?!

As soon as Ruby asked that Ferg swiveled around in his chair

Ferg: oh my god Vic,it is you

He rushes right over to give her a hug. Vic returns it. They pull away and Ferg notices a 'little Vic'.

Ferg: oh and who is this?

Emma: i'm Emma and I'm three

Ruby: that is so grown up

Ferg: Is she?…

Vic: my daughter? Yes

Ferg: hi Emma, my name is Archie Ferguson...But you can call me uncle Ferg

Emma: It's nice to meet you uncle Ferg

Vic: I hate to interrupt this lil' meet n' greet but Ruby is Walt coming in for work soon?

Ruby: oh Vic he retired at the end of last year...looking for you was his top priority, it was eating him up inside.

Ruby lowers her voice a bit so only Vic can hear

Ruby: you really broke his heart,I think he finally realized he loved you but a little too late

Vic: What!? He's not sheriff anymore...wow I never thought that day would come...who took over the job?

Just then Cady walks through the door

Cady: good morning everybody...oh my god...it's you-

Vic: It's me…

Cady: you self-centered, Pitiful bitch

Emma starts to cry,Cady continues to insult

Cady: oh and just what we need...another Vic in the world. Get out!

Vic: Ruby, could you please take care of Emma while I have a talk with sheriff Longmire

Ruby just nods and collects Emma in a hug and comforts her, Vic turns to Cady

Vic: we need to talk in your office...now

Both the girls strut into the sheriff's office, Vic slams the door behind them-

Vic: What the fuck is your problem?

Cady: you are, I might not agree with his love choices but you broke my fathers heart

Vic: like I'm supposed to know that, how do you think I feel? I'll tell you horrible

Cady: Apparently not enough I heard your reaction. Just get out I can't even look at you

Vic Stunters out of the office

Vic: I'll catch up with you two later. Come on Em….oh Ruby, does Henry still run/own "the red pony"?

Ruby: oh uh...no after Nighthorse's arrest he took over the casino the only good place left for food is the "busy bee"

Vic: thanks Ruby, bye Ferg

Emma: bye Ruby, bye Uncle Ferg

Vic picks her up and they rush down the stairs out the door back to Vic's car she buckles Emma back into her car seat. Vic gets in herself and starts the car, she turns around to look at Emma.

Vic: You hungry,babydoll?

Emma just nods

Vic: we'll go to the "busy bee" and then we'll find somewhere to stay

Emma: Okay Mommy

Vic smiles at her daughter, turns back around and makes her way to the "busy bee". They walk in hand and hand...they finally get seated at a booth. Dorothy their server comes by shortly

Dorothy: Well, look who's back in our little county...oh and is this your little sister?

Vic: It's good to see you again Dorothy, But Emma here is not my sister...she's my daughter

Dorothy: Well I'll be, what can I get for you two ladies?

Vic: we will have one plate of your fairy pancakes and for drinks I'll just take some coffee for Emma-

Emma: I'll have some apple juice please

Dorothy: coming right up

While Vic and Emma wait they have a little talk

Vic: So,are you excited to meet the rest of mommy's friends?

Emma: Yeah, who else?

Vic: Well, we have Henry Standing Bear and... Walt

Emma nods and smiles at her mom,Vic smiles back at her as their food and drinks arrive

Dorothy: just holler if you need anything else

Vic and Emma eat and finish up, Vic pays and they make their way to four arrows casino,they arrive and walk up to the front desk

Vic:hi, I'm looking for Henry Standing bear

Receptionist: do you have an appointment?

Vic: no but if you tell him Vic Moretti is here to see him I know he'll come out

Receptionist: very well, would you please wait out here?

Vic just nods and takes a seat with Emma about 15 minutes later Henry finally comes to greet Vic

Vic: took you long enough

Henry: I am here now, I can not believe you are back. Oh my apologies, who is this?

Emma: this is my mommy

Henry:You are her mommy?

Vic just smiles

Vic: could we talk somewhere a little more private

Henry: Of course. Why do we not go to my office?

Vic: great

Henry leads Vic and Emma to his office they all go in

Henry: please have a seat

Vic takes a seat and puts Emma on her lap

Vic: It's good to see you Henry and you're doing so well, uh by any chance could you offer me a good price for a room?

Henry: I am sure we can figure something out...now, let us talk about the little elephant in the room

Vic: um...okay. Babydoll, why don't you put your headphones on and watch some videos on my phone

Emma: Kay.

Vic hands Emma her stuff and helps her set it up then turns her attention back to Henry

Henry: Well, my first question: is she Walt's?

Vic: What? No. Nothing like that has ever happened between Walt and I

Henry:Does he know about her?

Vic:no he doesn't even know that I'm back...how is he?

Henry: He is in pretty bad shape... I think losing you was the stick that broke the camel's back...you are going to see him are you not?

Vic: as soon as Emma and I get our stuff in our room we're going right to Walt's

Henry: then let me see what I can do

Henry is able to give Vic a good price on a room also she is his temporary assistant until she finds another job she is well adjusted for

Vic: thank you Henry for everything, well I'm gonna get our stuff and then...wait, Walt still lives in his cabin,right?

Henry just nods. Vic and Emma leave Henry's office and go to get their stuff out of the car. Vic has a big Louis Vuitton suitcase while Emma has a Hannah Montana suitcase that Vic got at a garage sale...they bring their bags to the room and choose which side of the bed they each want. You see, Vic is a big supporter of co-sleeping. Then they leave the casino and make their way to Walt's Cabin. 20 minutes later they pull down the dirt road and pull into the driveway, Vic see's an older gentleman sitting on the porch with a full grown beard but then she realizes the guy was Walt. He's always been older but he never looked old before, at least to Vic. She gets out of her car and helps Emma out-Walt can't believe what he sees Vic and a little Vic walking towards him.

Walt: Vic?!

He sounded tired and hurt

Vic: Hey ,Walt...can we talk?

Walt: uh...sure just give me half an hour

Vic: sure...we'll just bond with the horse. She's obsessed

Walt nods and makes his way inside...while Vic and Emma walk over to the coral

Vic: Em, this is Walt's horse. Can you pet him gently on the nose

Vic picks Emma up so she can pet the horse

Emma: Mommy,what's his name?

Vic: well he doesn't have one

Emma: why?

Vic: Emma, What did granny Lee tell you about the question why?

Emma: it never solves problems

Vic: exactly

About 25 minutes later Walt comes out and meets them at the coral

Vic: Hey, you wanna talk here or…?

Walt: uh...let's sit on the porch

But then he remembered Vic has a little Vic with her

Walt: uh..let me clean it up a little first

Vic: take your time

Ten minutes later Walt calls them up

Vic: Em...this is Walt, Walt this is Emma my daughter

Walt: you're daughter?

Vic: uh… Em take my phone and play on it while I talk to Walt, okay?

She takes the phone from Vic and sits on the steps

Vic: yes I have a daughter... and no I don't know who the father is, I Mean I do have an idea but I'm not sure

Walt: Could she be Sean's by any chance?

Vic: What? No

Walt just purses his lips and nods

Vic:Listen, I know I hurt you…

Walt: hurt me? Vic, when you left it Destroyed me...but the fact is that you came back and that is the best thing. I can't lose you and I thought I had

Vic has a lump in her throat she's finding it hard to swallow and tears threaten to fall she quickly blinks them back

Walt: Vic I hope you and Emma are staying

Vic: well you're wish is my command...we're staying

Walt: I want you two to stay with me because Vic I wa- need you with me. And as far as Emma goes I will love her as my own god knows I've had Plenty of practice with Cady

Vic: Walt, I think you're taking this all way to fast I just came back

Walt:What do ya mean?

Vic: one-Emma and I just got here two-you just met her and three-I've changed a lot in the past three years

Walt: I'm willing to adjust and I'm great with kids

Vic is having trouble wrapping this whole thing around her head but she's always dreamed of living with Walt

Walt: I finally cleared out my guest room and I'll have Henry help me build another room for her

He points to Emma

Vic: that wouldn't be necessary I am a strong believer in co-sleeping

Walt: What is that?

Vic: It's when your child sleeps with you instead of sleeping in a separate room and or bed

Walt: Okay then I'll get you guys a king size bed

Vic: Who said I said yes?

Walt: well I just thought-

Vic: You know what, never mind...let me think about it. Okay?

Walt just purses his lips and leaves it at that, Vic and Walt just spend the next two hours talking about the past three years. Emma starts to get bored so she walks over to her mom and Walt

Emma: hi, I'm Emma, what's your name?

Vic just smiles at her daughter's forwardness and then turns her smile to Walt

Walt: I'm Walter Longmire But you can call me Walt or Mr. Longmire

Vic: or you can call him Walter because it annoys the hell out of him

Emma smiles at her mom mischievously and turns back to Walt

Emma: It's nice to meet you Walter

Vic bursts out laughing Walt shakes his head while smiling and thinks: this kid will be future sheriff

Walt: Nice to meet you Emma. Listen it's getting late, do you two wanna stay for dinner at least?

Vic: it depends on what you're having

Walt: steak with mashed potatoes and carrots

Vic: we accept

An hour later Walt and Vic are setting the table

Vic: uh...Walt, there are three of us. You set four plates

Walt: Cady is coming

Vic: oh...then Emma and I can't stay

Walt: Why not?

Vic: you're daughter hates us

Walt: How could she hate Em?

Vic: because she's a little mini me. We've gotta go...Thanks anyway. Come on Em we gotta go

Emma grabs Vic's hand

Emma: bye-bye Walt

Walt: bye

Vic and Emma peel out of the driveway as Cady drives up and gets out of her car and storms up the steps

Cady: please tell me They're not coming back

Walt: no as soon as I told Vic that you were coming she said her and Em couldn't stay. What is going on with you three?

Cady: dad the big one broke your heart and destroyed you and I don't want to see you go through that again and the little one is just like her only a mini version I don't wanna see you get too attached and have your whole world come crashing down. I know it's hard to believe but I really do care about you.

Walt: I appreciate the concern ,punk but I'm a grown man I can take care of myself I can and I am fine yes she broke my heart but,what have I always told you?

Cady: if love is strong enough your broken heart can always be mended

Walt: Vic and I talked over so many things I even offered her to live with me because the truth is punk I can't live without her

Cady can barely believe what she just heard her father say but she's willing to give this a chance

Cady: all right dad I'm not in the mood to fight with you or start a fight or even carry it out I just wanna get through this night but I will call Vic tomorrow and apologize for my behavior

Walt: thanks punk

The next morning Cady wakes up bright and early and makes her way to the sheriff's station. With Vic and Emma… Emma is the first one to wake up, she wakes up Vic with a forceful shake.

Vic: all right I'm awake just give me a second damn child

Emma: mommy you said a bad word

Vic: That's what happens when you wake mommy up. But what do you say we go get some breakfast before I have to start work?

Emma: OK, where are we going to go?

Vic: I don't know a lot has changed in three years. Let me just make a call

Just then the phone rings...Vic answers it

Vic: hello?

Cady: Hey Vic, It's Cady and before you hang up-

Vic: I wasn't gonna hang up

Cady: Oh good I just want to apologize for my behavior yesterday it was really uncalled for and my father really does care about you I'm not sure what his feelings are I know that he's really happy that you're back and if he wants to love you then Who am I to deny you guys happiness and as far as your little one goes I am so sorry I insulted her I saw how much I hurt her it is never my intention to hurt anybody especially children

Vic: We really appreciate the apology. I also apologize for what I said. Maybe later this week you and I could meet up for coffee and talk some things over

Cady: that would be nice how about Sunday? that's my current day off

Vic: Sunday would be perfect. That's my current day off also, we'll meet at the busy bee?

Cady: Yeah, I'll see you there at 9?

Vic: see you then bye

Cady: bye

Both the girls hang up

Vic: sorry this is taking me so long sweetie just let me make one more call and then we can go

Vic calls Walt he answers on the third ring

Walt: this is Walt…

Vic: Hey Walt It's Vic I know this sounds super pushy and selfish but, can Emma and I come over for breakfast?

Walt: Sure, what would you guys like?

Vic: um...some eggs over easy and toast with a lot of butter

Walt: Coming right up, I'll see you in 20?

Vic:15...Emma and I are leaving now

Walt:I'll let you go then

Walt and Vic hang up. Vic hooks up Emma in her car seat then gets in the car herself and they make their way to Walt's they make it exactly 15 minutes later Walt comes out to greet them

Walt: Wow, when you said 15 you meant 15. I just popped the toast in the toaster

Vic:no problem we've got the time...but there better be coffee

Walt: Yep just so happens I have your Philly cup

Vic: you're shitting me. I was devastated when I lost my cup. Well what are we waiting for let's get in there

Walt: oh and I have chocolate milk for miss Emma

Vic: oh babydoll, did you hear that? Chocolate milk!

Emma: yay! Thank you Walt

Walt: you're very welcome

They all settle themselves at the table

Walt: So what's on the agenda for you two today?

Vic: well I start work today as Henry's personal assistant and I have to bring Emma with me I have nowhere else to leave her

Walt: Well, why don't you let me watch her?

Vic: I don't know Walt. You're a great guy and everything and I trust you But Emma can be a handful after all she is my daughter

Walt: Vic I think I can handle it

Vic: all right hold on one second

Vic turns to Emma

Vic: baby doll how would you feel if Walt watched you today?

Emma: that would be so cool

Vic turns back to Walt

Vic: I guess that settles it you are free to watch Emma thank you

About two hours later Vic is on her way to the casino to start work while Emma stays behind with Walt. with Walt and Emma

Walt: So your mommy told me you want to learn how to ride a horse, why don't we start your lessons today?

Emma: you're going to teach me ,Walt?

Walt: only if you want

Emma: yeah I'm cool with that let's go right now

Walt: hold on their little girl we have to get you a helmet first

they go out to the barn and find a helmet that fits Emma it just happens to be Cady's old horse riding helmet, they make their way out to the corral to start Emma's first horse riding lesson, with Vic and Henry

Henry: so that is the rundown of your job description

Vic: got it thank you again Henry I really appreciate you giving me a job just until I find one that I'm better suited for

Henry: You are welcome but, may I ask where the little one is?

Vic: oh Walt offered to watch her so she's spending the day with Walt

Henry: He is spending the day with a three-year-old?

Vic: yeah. Now I want to talk to you about something yesterday when I went to go talk to Walt he offered for Emma and I to live with him. He told me that he can't live without me. Do you think I should take him up on his offer?

Henry: yes I think it would be the best thing for you and Emma

Vic: that's why I always liked you Henry straight to the point I'm tell him when I pick up Emma after work

The work day goes by pretty quickly, but Vic can't help worrying about Emma it has nothing to do with Walt watching her it's just that Emma and her have been together every day since her birth

Henry: Vic, are you listening to me?

Vic shakes her head

Vic: huh? Oh I'm sorry Henry it's just I keep thinking about Emma she's never been away from me…

With Walt and Emma

Walt: Okay, So now pat him gently on the neck and tell him 'good boy'

Emma leans forward and pats the horse on his neck very gently

Emma: good boy horse

Walt: and then you feed him this carrot

Emma: Walt, do you love my mommy?

Walt: uh...yeah

Emma: Why don't you ask her to marry you?

Walt: It's not that simple

Emma: oh. Walt…?

Walt: Yeah?

Emma: Are you my daddy ?

Back with Vic and Henry

Henry: Vic this is your hour warning

Vic: thanks Henry

The hour goes by very quickly

Vic: I'll see you later Henry thanks for everything

Vic leaves as quickly as she can she makes it to Walt's just in time to see her daughter galloping she gets out of her car and struts over to the coral

Vic: way to go Em

Emma gets horse to stop and turn around

Emma: Mommy you're back. Did you see me, huh? Huh?

Vic: I did. You were awesome. Hey Walt, thank you so much for watching her but whose helmet is that?

Walt: it was Cady's when she was little

Walt helps Emma off horse she runs over to hug Vic, Vic picks her up and gives her a big hug and a kiss on the cheek then she lets her down

Vic:Walt, I want to talk to you for a little bit

Walt: Sure, let me unhook the horse. Come here Em,I'm gonna show you how to do it

Vic watches how Walt interacts with her; he's a natural father. It would be great if she and Emma lived in this environment. Emma and Walt come over back to Vic...Emma being on Walt's back

Walt:why don't we go to the "busy bee" and talk

Vic: I'd rather not,I'd rather have our talk privately just the three of us

Walt: Okay

Thunder rumbles in the distance, Emma clutches on to Walt and Vic

Vic: we should go inside the storm should be arriving soon

They all make their way inside just when rain starts to fall

Walt: So...what's on your mind?

Vic: Yes

Walt: Yes What?

Vic: Emma and I will live with you

Walt's eyes go wide

Walt:Great, do you want to sleep with Emma or...me?

Vic: You want to share your bedroom with me?

Walt: Why not?

Vic: you know it might be good for Emma to have her own room..So we'll be roommates

Walt: we'll start moving you in tomorrow, you wanna stay for dinner? I'm making homemade fried chicken and pecan pie homemade for dessert

Vic: now you're talking

While Walt starts dinner, Vic sets the table and Emma plays with her barbies

Vic: Em,I want you to wash up for dinner

She gets up and runs to the bathroom

Emma: Mommy,I can't reach the sink

Walt: I have just the thing

He pulls out a step stool from under the kitchen sink it's colored a soft yellow

Vic: Was that Cady's too?

Walt: Yeah

Vic: Alright Thanks. I'm coming Em

Walt continues to make dinner and then checks on Vic and Emma

Walt: How's everything going?

Vic:good. We're almost done. I'm just drying my hands

Emma walks over to Walt and he picks her up

Vic: you're such a dad

Emma: Mommy,I need to tell you something

Vic: What is it?

Emma: I want Walt to be my daddy, I wanna live here the cabin

Vic fixes her gaze on Walt

Vic: Should we tell her?

Walt: It's only fair to

Vic: Alright, Em...tomorrow we are moving in we're gonna live with Walt. You're going to have your very own room

Her eyes light up with pleasure

Vic: as for Walt being your daddy that's up to him

Walt whispers in her ear

Walt: I would be honored to be your daddy...but I remember telling you it's not that simple

They all have and finish dinner and dessert,Vic is helping Walt with dishes

Vic: Are you sure you can handle us?

Walt: I'll be fine,so we'll work on it tomorrow once you get off and Sunday

Vic: oh Sunday Cady and I are going to the busy bee to talk things over. Ruby already agreed to Watch Emma, But Cady and I will be over to help after and Em will join us that night

Walt:sounds like a plan to me

Shortly after Vic and Emma go back to the 'four arrows' and crash for the night but this time Emma let's the alarm wake Vic up,Emma played with her baby doll in the meantime

Vic: I see you were up early again...thank you for letting me sleep

Emma: you're welcome Mommy

Vic: So Walt is going to watch you again today

Emma: You mean my daddy?

Vic takes a deep breath and just smiles

Vic: Yes, you're daddy

Walt decided to pick Emma up this time So Vic didn't have to make an unnecessary Stop to the cabin and then drive all the way back to the casino… with Walt and Emma they are in the bronco on the way back to the cabin

Emma: Daddy, are we continuing my horse riding lessons today?

Walt smiles to himself he loves being called daddy he hasn't been called that since Cady was around Emma's age

Walt: only if you're up for it

Emma: yay, I want to do it again and again and again!

They finally arrive back to the cabin and make their way out to the corral so Walt can teach Emma how to brush horse

Emma: I thought I was learning how to ride horses

Walt: taking care of the horses is part of the lesson

With Vic

Henry: Vic just thought I would tell you that we will carpool to Walt's house after work it makes no sense to take two separate cars

Vic: Sounds good to me, your car or mine?

Henry: you are the one that has the car seat for little one when we come back tonight

Vic: good point

A few hours later lunchtime with Walt and Emma. They just finished putting the horse back in the corral and making their way back into the cabin.

Walt: So what do you want for lunch?

Emma: Turkey and Swiss sandwich please

Walt: sounds good to me

They make their in to the cabin and Walt washes his hands then starts making the sandwiches

Walt:you should go and wash your hands

Emma just runs to the bathroom, she runs back to the kitchen once she is done washing her hands. Walt helps her into her seat

Walt: What do you want to drink?

Emma: Apple juice please

Walt takes out the apple juice for her and pours himself another cup of coffee then he sets the plates in front of him and Emma and they eat lunch together

Emma: Daddy ,does anyone else call you daddy?

Walt: well sheriff Cady Longmire used to but now she's a big girl she just calls me dad

Emma: So she's your real daughter?

Walt: yeah and you might not be my daughter but you're the closest thing I've had in a long time and I love you just the same as I love Cady maybe even a little more but don't you tell her I said that

Emma: don't worry mommy says I'm really good at keeping secrets and promises

Walt smiles at her and she smiles back she looks so much like Vic Walt can't stand it

Walt: you look so much like your mom

Emma: Is that a good thing?

Walt: oh in my book that is the best thing ever

Back with Henry and Vic

Henry: One more hour until we start moving in?

Vic: I can't believe this is actually happening. Henry, would it be inappropriate if I asked you to pinch me?

Henry: ask me again in an hour

The hour goes by very slowly especially for Vic but finally Henry and Vic are on their way to Walt's cabin. As soon as Emma sees Vic's car

Emma: Daddy they're here

He throws Emma up on his back and they make their way outside

Vic: There's my baby girl

Emma: standing bear you made it

Vic:What about me?

Emma: Mommy I love you But you're always here

Vic: guilty as charged

Walt: uh we should get started...Emma you can help me pick out the color of your room

Emma:Kk Daddy

Henry:Daddy?

Vic: It's a long story

Vic and Henry start to make a blueprint for Emma's room...with Walt and Emma. Walt lays out three paint samples yellow, pastel pink, and Vic's personal favorite dark purple.

Walt: Which one do you like?

Emma: I like the yellow the best

Walt: yellow it is

With Vic and Henry

Vic: so I think her bed should go right below the window Emma has always loved to look at the stars she was so excited when we moved here to Wyoming as she could actually see them without a telescope

Henry: I always knew she was an intelligent toddler

Walt and Emma soon join Henry and Vic in the room

Emma: mommy I picked yellow for my room

Walt: i'll go to the hardware store tomorrow morning and pick it up

Vic: OK. Henry and I planned everything out and it should go smoothly but we should get some sleep it's gonna be a long day tomorrow and remember Emma Ms.ruby is gonna watch you tomorrow

Emma: yay it's Ms.ruby's day I'm so excited mama, remember you're having coffee with Cady tomorrow morning at the busy bee

Vic: thanks for the obvious Em but I am a grown woman I can take care of myself

Emma: and I'm a big girl and I can take care of myself

Vic: I don't doubt that but I would feel a lot better if a responsible adult was making sure you stay out of trouble

Vic,Henry, and Emma are on their way back to the Casino Once they arrive Vic and Emma go straight to their room as does Henry the next morning…

Emma: mommy wake up at its Sunday it's moving day

Vic: Emma what does the clock read?

Emma looked at it very closely being only three she doesn't know how to tell time but she knows how to read numbers and she looks at it very closely

Emma: 850

Vic's eyes shoot open she has to meet Cady at the busy bee in 10 minutes and she had to meet Ruby half an hour ago at her house

Vic: shit I am so behind schedule Em,get dressed I have to call Ruby and Cady quickly

Vic quickly calls Ruby and Cady and explains her whole situation; she also calls Walt and Henry to let them know that her and Cady will be a little later than expected. Everything is going just fine Emma is now with Ruby and Vic and Cady just left the busy bee they talked everything over and everything is just fine with Cady and Vic finally arriving at Walt's cabin they walk in

Cady: Dad Vic and I are here where should we start?

Cady: dad?

Vic: Walt? Henry? Anyone home, hello?

Since no one is answering they are having a feeling that something is very wrong they quickly run into Emma's new room and find Walt and Henry unconscious tied to the bedpost

Cady: oh my God Vic call 911 quick

Vic calls 911 they answer on the first ring

Dispatcher: 911, what's your emergency?

Vic quickly hands the phone to Cady as she can explain it better and actually is the current Sheriff

The ambulance comes very quickly as Cady said they were unconscious after she told him the address. Vic wanted to call Ferguson and Zach to lead this investigation but Cady said

Cady: no from now on this is my one and only investigation just me I do not want anybody else on this case not even you who used to be one of the best deputies askabroka county has ever had you should go pick up Emma from Ruby's and go to the hospital ASAP because I know Emma will want to see my dad when he wakes up

Vic: OK but Cady do me a favor do not work yourself over the edge because I see what that does to people and it isn't healthy and your dad will be devastated if something happens to you

Cady: thanks for your concern but I'll be fine

Cady Leaves to go to the station Vic leaves quickly and goes to get Emma at Ruby's house

Vic: hey sorry Ruby but there's an emergency I'm not sure how to quite tell you two this but Walt and Henry are in the hospital Cady and I came back from the busy bee and found them tied to Emma's bed post their unconscious so we don't know exactly what happened but Cady is doing everything in her power to find out what happened but I came here to get Emma so all three of us can go to the hospital together and wait for at least one of them to wake up

Emma: Is Daddy OK?

Vic: baby doll I don't know hopefully he will be he is a fighter and he might be a little older but he is still the toughest man I know

They all Race out to Vic's car and quickly make their way to the hospital… when they arrive Vic is the first one with Emma clutching her hand tightly

Vic: Hi my name is Victoria Moretti sheriff Cady Longmire called about her father and Henry standing Bear coming in. Can you please tell me what room they're in or who the doctors are?

Unknown: Believe it or not Vic I know who you are it's me Sara

Vic: OMG Sara you've grown up so much since I last saw you last time I saw you Ruby had her Fourth of July cookout three years ago

Sara: Yeah, it's been a crazy three years. I have grown up a lot just ask my grandmother but I cannot give you any updates on Walt and Henry just yet. But who is this Lil Vic next to you?

Vic: That's OK I completely understand and this is my daughter Emma, Emma this is Ruby's granddaughter Sara can you say hello?

Emma: hi Sara I'm Emma and I'm three years old, is my daddy going to be OK?

Sara: uh...Her daddy?

Vic: she wants Walt to be her daddy so badly he lets her call him daddy makes her feel better and makes him feel special that's what she means

Sara: oh for a minute I thought...you know what never mind nothing to say in front of little ears

Vic: Yes, thanks for that. Anyways when you can give us an update we will be sitting right here in those three seats in the center. Do you have free Wi-Fi here?

Sara: yeah you're just gonna go onto Durrant hospital guest and type in the password quaint little county

Vic: got it thank you

It was a long wait for everybody an hour changed into 2 hours three hours then four hours finally six hours later doctor Weston comes out

Ruby: What can you tell us doc?

Doctor Weston: Henry woke up about an hour ago but we had some questions to ask him first. Unfortunately Walt is in a coma. We don't know how long he's going to be in it and we don't know when he'll wake up but we will try our best to make him comfortable. Is Cady here with you guys?

Vic: no she threw herself right into work trying to figure out who hurt Walt and Henry, can we go see Henry?

Doctor Weston: I know how worried you all must be but I think it's best that you come back tomorrow and see him he's extremely exhausted from the medication and the interrogation we did with him so it would be best if you guys go home and get some rest

The three ladies leave Ruby goes back to her house and Vic and Emma go back to Walt's cabin

Vic: baby doll I want you to sleep with me tonight with everything that happened I just want you to be safe we'll go from there tomorrow

Vic leads Emma into Walt's room and they change into their pajamas in the bathroom and snuggle into Walt's bed for the night and Emma quickly fell asleep but Vic had trouble sleeping she Tossed and turned all night finally at 6 AM the alarm clock went off surprisingly Emma was still asleep but Vic knew exactly how to wake her up time for the tickle monster to come out. Vic starts to tickle Emma lightly she wakes up really groggy

Emma: Mommy,was Daddy dying just a dream?

Vic: Yes...But sweetie your daddy is in a coma: What that means is he is taking a nap but the doctors don't know for how long. It could potentially be forever and if that's the case we would sadly have to make the decision to let him die. With that being said he will wake up I know he will

Emma: cross your heart?

Vic: and hope to die

Vic and Emma: stick a needle in papa Vic's right eye

They give each other a big hug

Vic: we better get up. We're going to see standing bear

Emma: I love standing bear

Both of them get out of bed Vic decides to give Emma a bath before they have to go and she takes a shower then they both get dressed

Vic: all right baby doll, what shoes do you want to wear today?

Emma thinks of all her shoe choices jelly sandals, jelly closed toe shoes, her light blue converse,or her ballet flats

Emma: I think I'll go with my jelly sandals today

Vic helps Emma slip on her jelly sandals with protective fabric around her foot so she doesn't get a blister then decides to grab one granola bar each for a quick breakfast and make their way to the hospital. They just walk through the front door. Dr. Weston walks up to Vic

Doctor Weston: thank God you are here Vic Walt woke up this morning you were the first person he asked and then of course he asked for Miss Emma next to you if It is alright with you I would like you guys to see Henry first and then you can go see Walt

Vic: no problem

Vic leads Emma into Henry's room

Emma: standing bear i'm so excited to see you mommy told me that you were in a bad accident and that you may have not woken up I'm so glad to see you

Henry: It is good to see you,did you two hear the good news?

Vic: if you mean that Walt woke up yes we did but the doc wanted us to see you first before we go see him

Henry: well I will not keep you long I know Emma will want to see her daddy as soon as possible

Vic Emma and Henry talk for the next 30 minutes but Emma is starting to beg Vic to go see her daddy

Vic: All right we're going just give me a second to say goodbye to Henry. Sorry Henry but you said it best she wants to see her daddy as soon as possible we will come over tomorrow and see how you are doing

Henry just Nods his head and they walk out and go across the hall to Walt's room they quietly crept into his room. Emma sees that her daddy is awake

Emma: DADDY! I am so happy you're awake the doctors said that they didn't know when you were gonna wake up but the important thing is that you did wake up and I'm so happy to see you I'm sure Mommy is happy to see you too

Vic: mommy is very happy

She goes over leans over and gives him a great big but very slow kiss it would turn into a make out session but there was a little one in the room

Emma: eww mommy you didn't tell me you were gonna kiss him eww

Walt: she might be saying eww but I am saying ooh and that's what I call a hello

Vic: you are so drugged out

Walt Vic and Emma talk for the next two hours about everything that happened Vic found out some valuable information he remembers who tied him and Henry up well before he blacked out it was travis

Vic: you're shittin' me, Travis Murphy?

She lowers down to whisper into Walt's ear

Vic: You know he's one of the possible men that could be Emma's father, don't you?

Walt: vic I had no idea you need to tell Cady the information I just told to you and once you find Travis you have to introduce him to Emma and tell him everything that has happened

Vic: No Walt it was never my intention to have em-

She turns her attention to her daughter

Vic: baby doll mommy has to have a very private conversation with daddy could you go out and find Ruby she'll take care of you until I'm done

Emma is starting to form a pout on her face but her mother gave her that look that says you pout you get the punishment so she reluctantly turns around and goes out to the waiting room to find ruby. With Walt and Vic

Vic: it was never my intention to have Emma meet either one of her fathers or either one of her potential fathers. She doesn't need that stress in her life of wondering who her father is. She looks so much like me but I can see it in her eyes. She has Emmons eyes. It's him, he's the father. I can't introduce her to Travis and after what he did why would I want to subject my daughter to that

Walt can see that Vic has tears in her eyes. He starts to think of how much of an incredible mother she is. He pulls her into a tight hug as she starts to sob on his shoulder a short time later she pulled herself together and went to ask doctor Weston about when Henry and Walt can get out

Doctor Weston: I wanna keep both of them at least one more night to observe their activity while They sleep and hopefully no emergencies will happen you can come in tomorrow morning and see how they are and then hopefully both of them will be ready to come home I would suggest you bring someone else with you to drive Henry home

Vic: thank you doctor. Come on Em we should go get some lunch

They drive back to the cabin and find some food in the fridge they end up having peanut butter and jelly sandwiches Emma's all-time favorite

Emma: Mommy, who is Travis?

When Emma asked that Vic almost choked on her sandwich she Coughed and prepared to answer the question her three-year-old daughter was asking her

Vic: OK sweetie listen to me very carefully Travis was involved in some illegal activity but then he cleaned himself up and became an OK guy but let me tell you the illegal activity he was involved in was because he was corrupted by a former deputy of your daddy's but believe me when I say Travis is an OK guy but what he did to your daddy and standing bear is totally uncalled for and despicable

Emma: oh mommy i have one more question, what does corrupted mean?

Vic: it means he was brought into something because the other guy messed with his mind and used violence as a threat to him so he was scared for his life but that doesn't excuse that he was once a criminal and is a criminal again

Vic was very uncomfortable talking to her three-year-old daughter about legal matters and criminals but she deserves to know what happened to her daddy but Vic is still very uncomfortable with the conversation they had. The next morning came very quickly and Vic cannot wait to go to the hospital and find out if Walt can finally come home. Ferg is right behind her and his blue Trans Am to drive Henry home. They walk into the front door all together to see Walt and Henry waiting with Sara for their rides.

Vic:I guess this means you're both able to go home?

Sara:yep they're all set discharged and everything

Ferg: Thanks Sara. Henry let's get going

Ferg starts to roll Henry out, Vic and Emma follow close behind with Walt. With Walt,Vic,and Emma on their way to the cabin

Walt: when we get back, we should finish getting Emma's bed together

Vic: Walt,you just got out of the hospital

He gives her a look that says 'you think I'm gonna rest' she just rolls her eyes. They finally arrived back at the cabin and made their way in and went straight to Emma's room a.k.a. the crime scene. Emma tightly clutches Walt's leg as she sees the ropes in a pile on the ground Walt picks her up and holds her close. Vic just stares at it.

Vic: The guys that I hired to clean this place are idiots sorry Walt I'll get the ropes out of the way

But before she can go in to grab them Walt stops her

Walt: before you do put some gloves on grab an evidence bag from my top drawer and put them in and drop them off to the station

Vic: And what will you and my mini me do while I'm gone?

Emma: mommy you can trust me with him I'll make sure he rests and I'll make sure he doesn't put the rest of my bed together

Vic looks at her daughter purses her lips and looks to Walt then back at her daughter and Emma may only be three but she would trust her daughter with her life and Emma acts like a 16-year-old sometimes but Vic really wants to get this investigation underway even though Walt said he knew who tied them up it could be a ruse

Vic: all right Emma , you're in charge until I get back I'm just going to go get some gloves pick up the ropes and drop them off at the station

Vic just left with The evidence and Emma makes Walt sit down

Emma: Daddy , would it be OK if I sat in your lap?

Walt: I don't see any harm in that. hop on up here

Walt picks Emma up as she gets ready to hop up

Emma: Now what?

Walt: uh...why don't I start teaching you to read?,and by the time you're 10 you'll be reading my favorite book

Emma: What's your favorite book?

Walt: The title of the book is ' of mice and men'

Emma: Well, What book are you gonna teach me to read now?

Walt: It's called " Arthur's nose" . It was Cady's favorite when she was your age, have you ever heard of the show "Arthur"?

Emma: Yeah, haven't you ever wondered where I get all my sassiness from? D.W. Taught me everything I know

Walt: I thought you got it from your mother

Emma shakes her head

Emma: Where is the book? I'll go get it

Walt: it's in your new room on your new bookcase it's the very first book on the bottom shelf

Emma runs to go get the book when she runs back into the living room Vic walks through the door

Vic: What's going on?

Emma: mommy, daddy told me he was going to teach me to read the first "Arthur" book

Vic: Cady's again?

Walt just gives her a smile Vic looks away and turns to Emma

Vic: well before you and Walt start your reading lesson why don't you and I finish putting your bed together I'm sure with the both of us it will be fast

Emma: OK mama

Vic picks Emma up and they both go to her room to set up her brand new big girl bed they finished quickly Emma runs out to see Walt But he fell asleep

Emma: Mommy I think Daddy was tired

Vic looks closely at Walt and notices his chest is not rising or falling she swears quietly and calls 911 the ambulance comes quickly once again with Emma and Vic riding with them in the back

Emma: Mommy,is Daddy dead?

Vic: fortunately no, we called the ambulance in time

Vic takes hold of one of Walt's hand she points to a machine

Vic: see this? This is helping your daddy breathe because right now he can't breathe on his own

Emma just blinks back tears and grabs Walt's other hand they arrive at the hospital

Paramedic: unfortunately you two have to wait in the waiting room

Vic: Yeah we know the drill

Vic and Emma take a seat in the waiting room Henry arrives 15 minutes later with Ferg close behind

Henry: What has happened?

Vic: stupidly the guys who I hired to cleanup just left the ropes there in a pile and then I went to drop them off at the station in an evidence bag and I left Walt with Emma at the cabin when I came back both of them were completely fine but then Emma and I went into her room to set up her new big girl bed and when we came back it looked like he was sleeping but then I noticed he wasn't breathing

Emma: and we were just supposed to start my reading lessons

Emma holds up the 'Arthur' book. Ferg takes it from her

Ferg: oh I used to love this book, Emma if you want I could start teaching you how to read?

Emma: You'll teach me to read Uncle Ferg?

Ferg: I would enjoy nothing more

Ferg leads Emma over to a table in the lobby and they start her very first reading lesson while Vic and Henry talk an hour later doctor Weston comes out

Dr. Weston: Vic, may I talk to you alone?

Vic stands up and follows Dr. Weston to a secluded corner

Dr.Weston: he's breathing on his own for now but I would like to keep him overnight to monitor it we are still waiting for some test results to come back you're welcome to wait but I think with you having little one it's best for you guys for all of you to go home and come back tomorrow morning

Vic really does not want to go home but she doesn't want Emma to get antsy and totally bored so she follows doctors orders they all go home and just sleep the next morning could not come fast enough Vic and Emma are the first through those double doors

Vic: hey Sara, can you please page Dr. Weston and tell him Vic Moretti is here

Sara: sure thing

She pages Dr. Weston

Sara: should be out in a few moments

Vic: thanks

Vic and Emma sit down in the waiting room and wait for the doctor for 20 minutes until he finally comes out. Vic and Emma stand up quickly.

Vic: How is he doc?

Doctor Weston: he's doing just fine he's breathing normally but he does have an acute asthma and if needed we're giving him an inhaler for emergencies but you are welcome to take him home anytime his discharge papers are already signed so,whenever you're ready

Vic: Thank you

Vic and Emma are just about to walk into Walt's room when Vic gets a phone call from Cady

Vic: Hey Cady, what's going on?

Cady: hey so I ran a DNA trace on the ropes and I found some traces and you'll never guess whose DNA was found on the ropes

Vic: Is it Travis'?

Cady inhales deeply on the other end

Cady: no it's Emmons, I went to him and confronted him about it he heard you were back and somebody told him about Emma and he knows exactly why you chose that name because it resembles his name he knows the truth like he knows he's the father my dad must've thought it was Travis but it wasn't Travis so just leave him out of the whole thing tell Emma you made a mistake I'm so sorry Vic bye

Cady hangs up Vic is just flabbergasted she feels like she could just ball but she has a job to do… first things first tell Emma she made a mistake

Vic: baby doll there's something I have to tell you mommy made a mistake Travis was not the one who hurt daddy and standing bear it was another very bad man

Emma: What's his name?

Vic: that is classified information but the good news is Cady found the guy and arrested him; he's in jail awaiting a trial. You know what that is right? papa Vic told you all about it before we left.

Emma just nods her head, it's a lot for a three-year-old to wrap around their mind but they both just shake off the information and bring Walt back to the cabin… by now it's lunchtime

Walt: What do you two want for lunch?

Vic looks at Walt in disbelief

Vic: Walt you just got of the hospital again will you sit down and relax and not think so much I will make us lunch

Walt met his match he is defeated he doesn't argue he just sits while Vic attends to lunch Emma attends to her daddy

Emma: I'm glad you're OK daddy I was so worried about you. Uncle Ferg started to teach me how to read the 'Arthur' book though. He says I'm a real natural

Walt: I expected nothing less

Vic finished making the lunch menu as American chop Suey, cooked carrots and green beans, and for drinks milk. They all eat up then finish Emma is sitting between Vic and Walt playing with her baby doll who she recently named Cady. But Vic is distracted and Walt can tell

Walt: Emma why don't you go put Cady to sleep in her new crib it's right next to your bed in your room I want to talk to mommy alone for a moment

Emma: OK daddy have fun talking to mommy

She hops off the couch and runs to her room to put Cady to bed. With Walt and Vic

Walt: OK, what's going on with you?

Vic can't hear him she's chewing on her thumb nail excessively

Walt: VIC!

She snaps out of her trance

Vic: huh? Oh I'm sorry Walt,did you say something?

Walt: What's up with you?

Vic doesn't know what to say she's so frazzled by everything that's happened... and she knows the truth about who the real criminal is

Vic:Walt, you made a mistake, it wasn't Travis who tied you up. It was Emmon, Cady called and told me but Cady has him in custody. He knows the truth Emma is his...so I've been thinking maybe it is time for Emma to meet her father and the other guy who could've been her potential father. but I want to make sure you're OK with that because after all you are the closest thing she has to daddy

Walt: Vic, I'm perfectly fine with that. You are her biological mother and she has a right to know her biological daddy and it's up to her who she wants her daddy to be when this is all said and done. so I will go with you to meet Emmon and Travis starting tomorrow let's just have a good night tonight and relax

Vic nods and takes a deep breath Walt pulls her in for a hug and rubs her back shortly after they pull away Emma comes back

Emma: Daddy, who is Martha and who is Donna?

Vic: baby doll what is that you're holding? and how did you know how to read- oh that's right Ferg started to teach you you're a natural all right

Walt:Can I see what you have?

Emma walks over to Walt and hands him the composition notebook she found the front reads:For my dearest Martha and Donna,and Vic

Vic: What the hell is that?

Walt: uh...my diary

Vic: What?

Vic raises an eyebrow at him

Walt:Vic,I rather tell you about it when we're alone

She checks the clock

Vic: well we should see what you have for dinner

Walt:Henry said he Would bring over some of his famous cheeseburgers in about an hour

Vic: I've been dying for one of those ever since I got back here in Wyoming. Please tell me he's also making some of his famous fries?

Walt: it wouldn't be an official famous Henry's cheeseburgers unless there are fries

Vic: YASSS!

About an hour later Henry drops by and brings the burgers and fries with him all four of them sit down and enjoy the best burgers in Wyoming two hours later it's Emma's bedtime

Vic: let's read you a story and get you into bed

Emma: mommy I can read myself a story

Vic: Sorry I keep forgetting that we'll keep working on the 'Arthur' book. Now say good night to Henry and daddy

Emma goes to Henry first and says good night to him and then goes to her daddy and gives him a big hug good night and for the first time kisses him on the cheek and runs to her room with Vic close behind. Vic tucks Emma in and they work on the 'Arthur' book for 30 minutes

Vic: all right well you learned how to read the first 'Arthur' book I'll order more of them online tomorrow and work on all of them together and with daddy of course

Vic tells Emma good night and goes out to the kitchen to help Walt and Henry clean up

Vic: Sorry about that...it's just easier to get her to bed on time

Walt: no it's fine,we're almost finished

Vic:Do you have wi-fi here? Or are you still on that no technology kick?

Walt:I'll have you know I've acquired a cell phone

Vic raises her eyebrows at him and looks at Henry she gives her a single nod

Walt:and We set up a laptop in Emma's room but we had to move it to our room...so yes I have wi-fi quite strong. Why?

Vic: well unless Cady has all the other "Arthur" books I'm gonna have to order them online

Henry: good thinking

Vic: I told Em you and I would continue to teach her together-she really loves you Walt

Walt:and I love her

His eyes flick from Emma's room to Vic a silence hangs in the air Henry ends it by clearing his throat

Henry: Sorry to end this classic movie scene but I must leave I have a couple of meetings in the morning

Vic: well thanks for bringing over dinner Henry I was telling Walt before you came that I was dying for your fries

Henry: glad I could be of service. Sleep well

With that final note Henry leaves his two friends alone

Walt: So,What do you wanna do now?

Vic is still clearly bothered by something

Walt: you're worried about tomorrow,aren't you?

Vic responded sarcastically

Vic: how did you ever guess?

Walt gives her a small smile

Vic: I'm just worried about seeing Emmon again tomorrow but you know me I'll be Okay...now let's talk about that composition book Em found why are three names on it one of them being mine

They walk over to the couch and sit down with the book

Walt: When Martha was diagnosed with cancer the doctor told me it's best for me to write my feelings down instead of keeping them down inside. So Martha insisted on buying me a composition book but then when she passed away I just wrote about women in my life that are special and I don't mean special like Cady I mean woman that I really romantically love and Martha was the first one even though Donna and I weren't together for long she was one for a little bit and you've always been one there are even some about you before Donna.

Vic: wow that is the sweetest thing I have ever heard I have no idea you liked me before Donna

Walt: Vic we've been through so much together first you were married to Sean then Emmon came into the picture he gave you the most wonderful gift any man could ever give a girl sorry I meant woman and then Travis got thrown into the whole mix even though I didn't know that at the time and then you moved back to Philadelphia I had no idea where you went so there's was no way to tell you but now I am I love you Vic

By this time Vic has happy tears in her eyes she blinks them back and manages to say softly

Vic: I love you too Walt

They both lean in and Softly kiss and it turns into a full make out session Vic straddles and kneels over Walt and before you know it Walt carries Vic and himself to the bedroom and basically what happens is what happens in the end of season six we all know what happened in the end of season six. The next morning Vic wakes up to the smell of bacon and eggs and pancakes she hears Walt talking with someone in the kitchen. Vic gets out of the bed and walks into the kitchen

Vic: how are you two… Emma, did you wake your daddy up?

Emma: no he woke up an hour before me at least that's what he said. mommy sit down we're just about to eat breakfast

Vic takes a seat right next to Emma Walt gives Vic a look that says 'tell her now' she takes a deep breath

Vic: Emma sweetheart I think it's time to tell you about your daddy

Emma: but why can't daddy tell me himself he's right there

She points to Walt

Vic: you're real daddy…

Emma: oh, what's his name and what does he do for work?

Walt: well Em your real daddy could be one of two men the first one can be a man named Emmon he used to be a cop or it could be… travis

Vic: Mommy used to have a very hard love life so that's why your father could be one of two men but I do have a feeling it could be Emmon because you certainly did not get your eyes from me and that's why I named you Emma because it was a girly version of Emmon

Emma looks at Vic to Walt back to Vic and then fully turns her attention to Walt

Emma: Daddy, will you be coming with us?

Walt: It's entirely up to you if you don't want me to I don't have to

Emma: no I want you to come you have to come with us please

Walt: I can't say no to that face

Vic: we'll go meet Emmon later today and then I'll call Travis and see if he's up for visitors

Walt just nods and Emma silently eats the rest of her breakfast the whole rest of breakfast time in silence. They all get ready to go to the station Walt called Cady and make sure that Emmon would behave while meeting Emma and seeing Vic again and with Walt being with them they all jump in the bronco and make their way to the station. Walt and Vic hop out of the front and then Walt gets Emma out of her car seat Vic takes one hand and Walt takes the other and they all walk into the station climb up that all-too-familiar steps they see Cady in the sheriff's office with Eammon in one of the visitors chairs Vic has a hitch in her breath and Walt has a little bit of deep breathing going on and Emma doesn't know how to feel.

Vic: let's go

They walked into the sheriffs office together, Emmon looks back to see the three of them

Cady: Emmon,do you have anything to say to anybody?

Emmon: It's good to see you again Vic...Walt you seem to be doing well. Hi,you must be Emma

Emma: yes sir,you must be Emmon

Emmon: I am

Vic gets down to Emma's level

Vic: you can go give him a handshake if you would like

Emma slowly shakes her head

Emma: No thank you

Emmon doesn't blame her he totally understands Emma gets up the courage to talk to him but not to go near him she stays a respectable distance away with Vic and Walt halfway through the conversation Vic steps out to call Travis and he definitely wants to meet Emma so they finish up their visit with Emmon and make their way to Travis's new cabin. They pull Into his driveway and this time Vic gets Emma out of her car seat and carries her up the steps to the front door. Walt knocks. Travis opens it

Travis: Hey,it's the whole gang

Vic: hi Travis,can we come in?

Travis: oh yeah,where are my manners

He steps aside to let Walt,Vic,and Emma in

Walt: Nice place you got here

Travis just Nods

Travis: why don't you all take a seat anywhere is fine

Walt and Vic sit on the couch and Emma takes a seat on Walt's lap

Vic: so, Travis this is my daughter Emma I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure she's Eamon's daughter she looks just like me except her eyes and those are not your eyes they're Emmons

Travis: Who's Emmon?

Vic: remember when I told you there was another potential father for Emma it was him he was a cop in one of the other counties we needed another deputy right then because Walt wasn't supposed to be in for a while. But after Walt came back we were no longer in need of Emmon's services but I started one little thing with him and it escalated into the best gift I've ever had...Emma

Travis: Is there any possibility that she could be mine?

Vic: there still is a 50% possibility she's yours. Now,I already talked to Emmon about it and he's willing to do it but I want to get a paternity test to truly know who her father is. Are you willing to do it?

Travis is quiet for a moment but then he slowly nods his head and Vic lets out a deep breath she didn't know she was holding so does Walt

Emma: Your name is Travis, right?

Travis: That's right little lady and it is so nice to finally meet you. you look so much like your mom

Emma: my daddy says that is the best thing

Travis looks over to Walt and Vic

Travis:Emmon?

Vic opens her mouth to answer but Walt answers instead

Walt:no,me...she likes to call me daddy. We've bonded a lot

Travis: Is there any way you could be her real daddy?

Walt and Vic glance at each other and shake their heads and Travis lets out a breath and turns back to Emma

Travis: Well your daddy is right that is the best thing especially with a pretty lady like your mommy

Vic and Emma just smile their famous smiles they all spend the next two hours talking about the last three years

Vic:Well we better get going but we'll get you a test and you can just send it in when you're done

Travis: Thanks for everything, especially letting me meet her. Emma it was very nice to meet you

Emma:likewise Travis

Walt, Vic and Emma make a quick stop at the hospital to get Paternity tests...they drop one off at the station and Vic runs Travis into him quickly. On their way back to the cabin.

Emma:Mommy,can I still call Walt daddy?

It pains Walt to hear Emma call him Walt

Vic: that's entirely up to you

Emma:I will keep calling him daddy

Walt's heart is full again...they arrive at the cabin and all make their way in and eat some lunch. Then they decide to continue Emma's horse riding. Cady arrives. She joins Vic outside the coral

Cady: wow she's a lot better than I ever was. You thinkin' about ever getting on horse

Vic: uh...no way not this city gal

Both of them have a little laugh, Walt walks Emma and horse over to them

Walt: Hey punk

Emma: hi sis

Cady: Hey Dad,Hey baby sis

Vic: Are Walt and I missing something here?

Cady: Well since Emma is calling my dad daddy technically that makes us sisters...right Em?

Emma:right,Daddy,can I get down now

Vic: babydoll, you just got on...how about 20 more minutes,Kay?

Emma:Kay

20 minutes later Walt lifts Emma off horse and they all go inside while Walt and Emma make dinner Vic and Cady order all the other 'Arthur' books

Vic:good,that's all done...let's go help Walt and Emma. Oh,and Henry is coming over for dinner tonight

Cady: oh nice, I haven't seen him in awhile

They walk out of The bedroom and go into the kitchen. They finish making dinner and dessert then Henry finally shows up. They all settle down to eat.

Vic: Walt this dinner is really amazing I can't wait to taste your famous ice cream Sundaes

Cady: oh those are the best things ever Vic he used to make them all the time when I was Emma's age until about the time I was 15. Dad please tell me you put extra nuts on mine

Walt: I wouldn't dare forget about that

Henry and Walt take the Sundaes out of the freezer they hand one to Vic one to Cady with extra nuts and one to Emma with extra cherries

Emma: thank you daddy thank you standing bear

They are all eating their Sundaes Vic takes a medium spoonful and feels something round and hard in the bite she spits it out in her hand and finds a 14 karat sapphire princess cut ring in the palm of her hand then out of the corner of her eye she sees Walt on one knee biting his lip waiting for her answer

Vic:Holy shit! Sorry Em. Walt! Oh my god...YES! A thousands times yes

Vic slips the ring on her finger Walt picks her up and spins her around and kisses her passionately it would've gone on much longer but then they remembered everybody else was there

Cady: congratulations you two

Vic: Henry, Cady did you two know about this?

They both nod

Vic: Emma…

Emma: Mommy I put the ring in your Sundae But it's from Walt and he bought it.

Vic: thanks for clarifying that

They all finish their Sundaes Cady and Henry leave and the remaining three go to bed. The next morning Vic is the first one to wake up but she stays silent and just stares at the ring on her finger for 20 minutes but then Emma comes running into Walt and Vic's bedroom

Vic:shh be very quiet, I wanna do something special for Walt...and you can help me

Vic gets out of the bed very quietly so she does not wake Walt she gets ready then she helps Emma get ready and then they go to BusyBee to get walt's favorite breakfast cinnamon apple waffles the best coffee in asabroka county then they go get him a new bearskin coat and then they go get him a new pocket knife and when they arrive back home they find Walt waiting for them in the living room

Walt: Where have you two been?

Vic: oh you know here n' there

Emma: places

Walt: she's starting to be more like you every day

Vic: And what's wrong with that?

Vic and Emma look at Walt the same exact way and Walt smiles to himself

Walt:Oh nothing is wrong with that, I would be worried if she didn't start acting like you

Vic: anyways we got you a couple of things while we were out I hope you like them

Vic hands Walt two big bags and Emma hands him a smaller bag he starts with the biggest bag which contains the new jacket-He opens it and he's speechless which is not that rare for Walt but Vic can tell he loves it

Walt: I love it thank you very much

He takes the medium size bag and opens it to reveal his favorite breakfast and coffee

Walt: both of us have changed a lot in the past three years but this will always remain my favorite thank you very much. But will Emma try these waffles?

Vic: for you anything

Walt finally gets to the smallest bag and Emma made Vic promise this could be from her

Emma: Daddy this one's from me

Walt: oh really you bought it yourself and everything

Emma: Well I can't lie to you mommy bought it but it's still from me

Walt: well then this will be my favorite gift

He opens the very last bag and pulls out a leather holder case. He opens it to reveal a limited edition Johnny Cash engraved pocket knife. Walt is Garking he can't believe Vic and Emma got him this knife.

Walt: wow a new pocket knife…

Emma:Do you like it?

Walt:I love it,come here

She runs into Walt's arms he gives her a big hug he sees Vic watching them

Walt:get on over here

Vic joins the hug they all pull away

Walt:Alright,I won't be able to eat all these waffles by myself. Will you two help me?

Vic: I could never refuse Dorothy's cooking

Emma: and I'll try them

The day goes by pretty quickly. Vic and Walt just put Emma to bed and now they're sitting on the couch making out until they hear a scream coming from Emma they both run in Emma's awake breathing very fast shallow breaths

Vic: Emma...Sweetheart, what's the matter?

Emma:there's something in my closet

Walt:like a monster?

Emma:daddy there's no such thing as monsters-Well at least the kind you're thinking of

Walt:I'll check what's in there

Vic:I'm right behind ya

Walt takes the bat he left in Emma's room him and Vic crept to the closet they open it to find

Vic:Lizzie Ambrose?

Walt:get out of my baby girls closet and wait, for us in the kitchen

Lizzie scrambles to her feet and runs to wait in the kitchen

Walt:It's Alright baby girl you're safe now

Emma: Are you sure?

Vic:we're absolutely positive

Emma:Kay, night night

Walt and Vic:night

They leave her room leaving the door open they make their way to the kitchen to deal with Lizze

Vic:What the hell is wrong with you?

Lizze: I know the three of us don't have the best history but I'm in trouble with this mob and when I saw a window open at this cabin I just jumped in

Vic: you fuckin' scared my daughter to death thanks to you she'll have nightmares for weeks

Lizze:I didn't know anyone would be in there...I'm sorry

Emma Hollers from her room

Emma: MOMMY! DADDY!

They leave Lizzie in the kitchen still a little shaken and find Emma looking out her window

Walt:What's going on?

Emma:there's a car out there

She points out straight

Emma:and there's a camera on top of it

Walt:Vic, you stay with Emma! Go and hide in my bathroom. I'll take care of Lizzie and the car

Emma and Vic run out of Emma's room into Walt's room, step into the bathroom and lock the door and take shelter into the bathtub sliding the curtain to hide. Walt quickly makes his way back into the kitchen.

Walt:you get down

Just then Walt's door gets kicked down

Unknown: HA! I knew she'd be here

Lizzie:please this is not what I wanted

Walt: Who the hell are you?

Unknown:allow me to introduce myself Samantha O'riley...new leader of the Boston mob...ah shit Sam you did it again you don't know when to shut up. Guys just take the trash out get the treasures the other two are in the bathroom

20 guys enter the cabin, two of them hold guns to Walt's head...with Vic and Emma they hear the door come crashing down out front then hear Walt's bedroom door be kicked open

Unknown:bathroom now

Footsteps are getting closer. Vic holds Emma as close and tight as she can. The unknown people kick the bathroom door in and swipe the shower curtain aside

Unknown: you two out now

Vic: no!Where is my fiancé?

Unknown: don't worry my partners are taking out the trash as we speak

They hear two gunshots come from the living room

Vic: WALT!

She's able to get past the unknown men with Emma still in her arms runs into the kitchen and sees Walt bleeding out his head

Emma: DADDY! NO!

She wakes up sweating and breathing heavy, Walt and Vic come running into the room

Vic:oh baby are you okay we heard you scream

Emma:Mommy, I had a nightmare. Can I please sleep with you and Daddy tonight?

Walt: of course

Emma: I'm Too scared to walk by myself,daddy can you pick me up and carry me to the room?

He walks over and picks her up out of bed and all three of them go back into Walt's bedroom Emma in the middle with Walt and Vic securing her in a big hug the next morning Walt is the first to wake up with Emma shortly after they decided to let Vic sleep. Walt helps Emma brush her teeth and they go out to check on horse while feeding horse

Emma: daddy I think he needs a name

Walt: And what would you name him?

Emma looks at horse very closely analyzing every feature of him she finally thinks of the perfect name

Emma:ringlet. Because he has a ring around his eye

Walt thinks about it for a moment

Walt: ringlet it is. Now I wanna talk to you about last night

Vic: I would like to hear about last night too

Emma: You mean my nightmare?

Vic:we're not gonna force you to tell us...only when you want to. Right Walt?

She gives him a look he gets the idea

Walt:oh absolutely

Emma looks at them with large doe eyes tears streaming down her face Vic crouches Down to her level

Vic: babydoll, what's the matter?

Walt crouches Down

Walt:just remember you can tell us anything

Emma dries her tears

Emma:Well a woman who I never seen before jumped through my window

Vic and Walt give her a strange look

Emma:this is my dream

Walt and Vic:oh

Emma continues

Emma:mommy called her Lizzie Ambrose, I've heard the name before

Vic's eyes widen she knows how Emma has heard the name before

Vic:shit!

Walt:What?

Vic: Walt I know how she's heard the name, before we left my mom had me tell her my whole history with you everything your past relationships Donna Lizzie Martha even Cady she thought Cady was one of your past girlfriends but then I explained that Cady was your daughter so no worries there so when I talked about Lizzie I said some really horrible things about her and I read when I was pregnant that when a toddler hears things it can hit their mind and will take what somebody said and manifest it into a dream. Keep going baby doll

Emma: anyways she jumped through my window and then hid in my closet so when that happened I called you and daddy and you guys found her in my closet and daddy said 'you get out of my baby girls closet and wait for us in the kitchen' and she did as he said then you guys reassured me it was OK to go back to bed but then I saw a car outside my window they had a camera on top of it I called you guys in again and then we found out that Lizzie was involved in the mob I don't know what that is but she was involved in a mob and then mommy you and I had to hide in daddy's bathroom but they found us and then daddy got shot in the head twice and that's when I woke up and screamed

Walt: oh Em that sounds so horrible well if you want to you can sleep with us as long as you would like you don't have to go back into your own room anytime soon

Emma: really?

Vic: Walt ,can I talk to you alone for a moment? Em, you stay there for a minute

Walt and Vic walk over to the side of the barn

Vic: I don't think it's a good idea for us to let her sleep with us for too long

Walt: Vic she is three-

Vic: Yes But I'm trying to make her strong and independent

Walt: fine

They walk back to meet Emma but she is not there

Vic:em?

Walt:Emma?

No response

Vic:EMMA!?

No response,Walt dials Cady and she rushes right over with Ferg close behind

Cady:oh my god, Ferg and I will Search the woods you guys search around the property we'll meet back here in an hour

With Cady and Ferg

Ferg: where do you think she could be?

Cady: honestly Ferg I don't know this is where I always used to go when I ran away from home living with my mom and dad wasn't the easiest but if neither of us find her will reconvene and look for clues because for all we know she could've been kidnapped I didn't want to worry vic and my dad about this but I had to let Emmon go his trial didn't go as planned and he got out so there could've been a possibility she was kidnapped

Ferg:wow

With Walt and Vic

Vic:Walt,I don't see her anywhere

Walt:Vic, I don't wanna worry you but do you think she could've been kidnapped?

Vic closes her eyes

Vic: I mean maybe she must be terrified...or maybe not. I haven't had a chance to teach her 'stranger danger' yet. I was going to have us do it tomorrow

Walt checks his watch

Walt: well it's almost been an hour we should make our way back to the Paddock and wait for Cady and Ferg there

Vic just nods and follows Walt back to the paddock when they get there Cady and Ferg are already there waiting

Vic: anything?

Vic has desperation in her eyes, Cady can't bear to say anything so she just shakes her head no Ferg does the same.

Cady: I really didn't want to tell you guys this but right now I have no other choice I'm thinking Emmon kidnapped Emma I had to let him out of jail because the trial didn't go as planned they let him out I am so sorry I didn't tell you before I did not want to worry you guys but we should send out an Amber alert and keep forming search parties we will not rest until we find them

At this point Vic is sobbing hard Walt has tears streaming down his face they all gather Vic in a group hug. They call Henry and Ruby. They come over right away Zach also shows up.

Cady:Ruby,did you send out an amber alert?

Ruby:right before I left for here

Vic phone starts to ring she picks it up

Vic:this is Vic

Travis: Vic? It's Travis

Vic: Hey, I hate to be rude but now is really not a good time em-

Travis: That's why I called. Emma is with me. I was at the grocery store when I saw this guy with Emma when I asked who he was. He just turned around and ran- and left Emma standing there. Do you wanna come and get her or I can drop her off at Walt's?

Vic: no stay where you are, we'll come get her. But Travis put some coffee on. We have quite a few people and thank you so much. Tell Emma we'll see her soon.

With Travis and Emma

Travis: they'll be here soon

Emma just smiles and nods. 30 minutes later the gang arrives. Emma sees the car pull up

Emma: They're here

They all run in

Emma: MOMMY! DADDY!

Walt picks Emma up puts his other arm around Vic and they both hug Emma tight

Vic: Oh baby are you okay?

Emma: Mommy, I was so scared But then Travis saw me and saved my life

Travis: now I wouldn't say I saved her life

Vic: oh but Travis you did and I know how Emmon can be and he can be ruthless deceitful Just all around an asshole, sorry Emma I forgot swearing but Travis you did save her life and I can never thank you enough for that

Travis: What can I say I'm a pretty good judge of character. Well except branch

All the adults have a good laugh at that comment Emma is clueless as to who branch is. All Of them have about 3 cups of coffee each Emma having a juice box then they go back to the cabin Ruby,Zach and the Ferg go back home it's just Cady,Henry,Walt, Vic and Emma now sitting in the living room in the cabin.

Henry: what a day

Cady: Oh I know. Emma we were all so worried about you

Emma: Sissy I was so afraid I was really hoping you would be the one to find me but daddy told me you were doing everything in your power to find me before Travis called so I want to thank you for that and you to know that I love you

Cady has tears in her eyes this is the first time Emma has ever said those three words to her a far cry from when they first met

Cady: I love you too, well Henry and I should get going we'll come by tomorrow and see how everyone is holding up

Walt: thanks punk just call before you come over Vic and I are gonna do something with Emma and then we're probably gonna go get some food somewhere so maybe you can meet us somewhere or come over at the crack of dawn before we leave

Henry: we will meet at the busy bee at 2 o'clock sound good to everyone

Everyone agrees

Emma: works for me

Cady and Henry leave the cabin it's just Walt,Vic and Emma now it's right around lunchtime Vic makes the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches she makes three of them and all three of them have milk for a drink once they're finished with lunch Vic is helping Walt clean up while Emma is coloring at the kitchen table. Walt looks back to see how she's doing and clearly sees that she knows how to color inside the lines

Walt: She knows how to color inside the lines? Cady didn't learn that until she was at least five

Vic: I Taught her at a very young age how to color inside the lines because I didn't want to buy her a coloring book that would just be scribbles in it that would be a waste of my money and my time trying to find one that she likes

Walt: Vic i have to say I'm very surprised by you well I'm surprised by the kind of mother you are

Vic: What's wrong with the kind of mom I am?

Walt: I didn't mean it that way you were always such a rough and tumble kind of woman the maternal instinct in you is amazing

Vic: i'm still a rough and tumble woman it's just now I have another life to protect other than my own and as for maternal instinct girls are naturally born with it plus I had a pretty good role model growing up my own mom

Walt:I thought you and your mom had a rough relationship

Vic: That's when I was a teenager all girls have a rough relationship with their mom's as teenagers. I mean didn't Cady and her mom have their struggles?

Walt: Now that I think about it, Cady loved her mom but there was one huge fight they had when Cady was about 16… Martha just got diagnosed with her cancer and you know 16-year-olds they think the whole world revolves around them when Cady found out she started complaining about all her friends finding out and feeling pity for her I think she was masking the pain daughter like father I guess but she soon learned that the whole world doesn't revolve around her but that fight went on for a couple of weeks even a month if I'm remembering correctly

Vic: wow I've had my fair amount of fights with my mom but never one that lasted for a whole month well I shouldn't say that there's that one time I ran away I hitchhiked and almost roped into a sex ring

Walt:WHAT!?

Vic:shh! Emma is right there we'll talk about that later

Walt: we better

The rest of the day goes by pretty quickly Walt and Emma have a horse riding lesson and Emma is now a pro at riding horses. It's finally time for dinner. They are having Vic's famous pot roast. The dessert is wedding cake samples: that's right Walt and Vic have started to make wedding plans.

Walt: this cheesecake is a little too crumbly

Vic: I agree the sponge cake for me though is a bit too moist

Walt: Well who's going to choose?

Vic: Well why don't we ask Emma what she thinks?

Walt: Emma, which one is your favorite?

Emma:I Love the German chocolate with the vanilla frosting. It's moist enough without being too wet but it's not super dry and it crumbles just right

Vic: Walt I gotta say that was one of my favorites to

Walt: well girls we made our first big decision we're going with German chocolate with vanilla frosting

Emma:yay!

The next few weeks go by without a hitch plenty of wedding planning,fun, and love there's just one more decision they have to make this one it's a big one that can change their lives

Vic: Hey Walt, I was thinking would you ever think about adopting Emma?

Walt: vic nothing would make me happier than to adopt her, but it's up to you and her

Vic: Well I am perfectly ecstatic about that but we'll ask her in the morning. Let's get to bed it's been a long day

What happens at night, let's just say the same thing that happened in season six of Longmire towards the end of the last episode you know what that is anyways the next morning Walt is the first one to wake up. He's thinking about what it would be like to adopt Emma. She'll legally be his daughter if she agrees to it. She's only three. What if she doesn't want me to be her real 'daddy'. Vic comes up from behind and hugs him.

Vic: you're thinking again...about what?

Walt: adopting little miss

Vic: meaning you don't wanna adopt her anymore

Walt: no no I still do I just don't know if she wants me too

They hear Emma wake up and before they know it she's right in the kitchen

Emma: hi mommy, hi daddy

Vic: good morning baby doll

Walt: morning baby girl

Vic: sweetheart, daddy and I have a question we wanna ask you

Emma:Okay,What is it?

Walt:uh...how would you feel if I became your 'real' Daddy? Meaning I wanna adopt you

Emma looks to her mom back to Walt then Vic again

Vic:Sweetheart, why are you looking at me?

Emma:I don't know about this because Mommy Travis is my real daddy the hospital called him while I was there a few weeks ago... and I like Travis

Vic: well that's understandable but you can have two daddies

Emma: I can?

Walt: if you want

Emma: Can I think about it?

Vic:of course, But we would love to know your answer before the wedding

A couple weeks go by it's exactly a month before the wedding...Walt and Vic are in the living room watching 'Masterchef'

Vic:So,What do you think of Gordon Ramsey now?

Walt:well he's not that bad of a guy

Vic:I told you

Emma comes running into the room

Emma: mommy,daddy I thought about it and I want Walt to adopt me...but I have one question

Walt:What's that?

Emma:Since Travis is my real real daddy, what should I call him?

Vic:that's still one thing I don't understand I was so sure she was emmon's

Walt:Yes But just by the eyes you have the golden yellow eyes and Travis has blue so that's why Emma has green

Vic:Yeah That could very well be

Emma: What should I call Travis?

Vic: um...that Would be a question you would have to ask him but in the meantime you can call him Travis I'll call him right now and you can talk to him,OK?

Emma gives Vic a nod and goes to sit on Walt's lap. Vic gets a hold of Travis and explains the situation to him and then hands the phone to Emma

Emma:hi Travis

Travis:Hi you,you can call me whatever you want. I know you like calling Walt your daddy. So you don't have to decide right away but you can call me Daddy Travis or pop

Emma thinks about it for a moment she finally answers

Emma:I like pop it's fun to say

Travis:then from now on you can call me pops

Emma hands the phone back over to Vic and gives Walt a big hug in honor of her adoption. Vic finishes up the phone call with Travis and joins in the hug. They all pull away

Vic: Well we better get started with all the adoption papers there's a lot to go through Walt so make sure your hand is OK

Walt: my hands are strong as an ox

Vic: oh I'm not gonna deny that because I plenty well know that

Vic bites her lip and gives Walt a flirty look and disappears into the bedroom to get Emma's adoption papers for a Walt to sign she comes back a minute later

Vic: here they are

She walks over to Walt and gives him a pen and the papers and a clipboard to lean on then she pours herself some more coffee pours Walt some more coffee and gets Emma a juice box

Emma: What do we do now, when daddys busy?

Vic: well we could work on an 'Arthur' book or we could go outside and relax or go outside and talk… we can walk the trail together

Emma: OK

Vic: OK go get your sneakers on. Walt, we'll be back we're just gonna take a walk down the trail and talk for a while. you'll be OK alone, right?

Walt: thanks for the concern but I'll be perfectly fine go have your talk

Emma comes back within a few minutes

Vic: Do you need help tying your shoes?

Emma: no, Cady taught me how to But I just wanna show you how well I do

Vic: well then tie away

Emma tied her shoes perfectly then her and Vic go walk the trail talking about everything and anything Emma's little heart desires

Emma:Mommy,How did you and daddy meet?

Vic:well a long time ago before you were even a thought in my head I moved here to Wyoming with my ex and at the time your daddy was the sheriff and I was hired as one of his deputies

Emma just nods

Emma:How did you meet pops?

Vic:Well like I said he was involved in some illegal activity because of corruption... but then he cleaned himself up and filled out an application but the way I met him was another one of Daddy's old deputies was pops friend

Emma: Is papa Vic coming to the wedding?

Vic:he's not the biggest fan of Walt so no but granny lee and all your uncles are

Emma: Why doesn't papa Vic like Walt I mean daddy

Vic doesn't want to tell Emma the truth but Vic doesn't believe in hiding anything from children especially in her universe so she has to tell Emma the truth

Vic:Well your daddy was involved in some legal allegations what that means is he was found guilty of something he had to do in self-defense but people just thought he was power-hungry and he didn't have a lot of help back then and when Papa Vic read about it he wasn't so happy and that's why he was just glad that I was in Philadelphia with you instead of here in Wyoming with Walt in the middle of all that

Emma looks up to Vic with her eyes wide; the rest of the walk is in complete silence; they finally make it back to the cabin. Walt is on the couch reading his favorite book 'of mice and men'. He looks up from his book

Walt: How was the walk?

Vic: well it was nice and peaceful Emma and I talked for a bit and the scenery was breathtaking unlike your book which is falling apart you should really get that thing binded or throw it away and get a new copy

Walt: I can't throw it away it's been in the longmire family for several decades

Vic:then there's your decision bind it

Emma:Mommy, what is your Favorite book?

Vic thinks for a moment she's not the most avid reader but she's read some good books in her day she finally answers Emma

Vic: I would have to say the games of Throne series

Emma: isn't that the show that granny lee watched?

Vic: yes but it was a book series first

Later that day they drop the adoption papers off at the town courthouse then they decide to stop by Cady's for lunch on the menu today was pizza there's not many places in Wyoming for pizza so they get the best Wyoming pizza you can get then they all make their way back to the cabin

Walt: Emma, why don't mommy and I start teaching you the next 'Arthur' book?

Emma nods her head and runs to get the second 'Arthur' book and she comes back she sits in right between Walt and Vic and teach her the second 'Arthur' book she's still a natural after her reading lesson they decide to go feed horse and maybe have Emma do a short little course she ends up doing perfect and of course with her trusty horse and then they go in and all do different things they have dinner and it's time for Emma to go to bed with Walt, Vic,and Emma in her bedroom

Emma: Do I really have to go to bed in my own bed? I want to stay with you and daddy

Walt: We want you to at least try to sleep in your own room and if at any time if you are scared or you have another nightmare come to us we are right down the hall from you. but can you please try for us?

Emma is really not sure about sleeping in her own bed but she can never refuse Walt

Emma: fine

Walt and Vic finish tucking Emma in then retire to their own bedroom they go in and get into bed so they can have a long talk

Vic: I know you're worried about her but she'll be just fine she'll be asleep before you know it

Walt: I know you're right next to you and Cady she's all I've got i need to keep her safe from all the evil in this world

Vic: And you think I don't? Besides, you forgot about one person in your life... Henry oh and Ruby and Ferg

Walt: oh believe me Henry,Ruby, and Ferg are all awesome people but you,Cady, and Emma right now are the ones I truly love

Vic gives Walt one of her famous soft smiles and they start to make out again they're in full force making Love mode when they hear the porch door open they both run out to see who it is

Vic:you've gotta be fuckin' shittin' me

Walt:What are you doing here?

Unknown: I know you didn't expect to see me but I do really need you two to help me

Vic: Walt you can help her if you want but don't expect me to help her after last time I had issues with Miss Lizzie Ambrose. I'm gonna check on Emma

Vic walks away to the end of the hall and disappears into the room. With Walt and Lizzie

Lizzie:Who's Emma?

Walt: Vic's daughter and soon she'll be my daughter. I just signed the adoption papers today but onto you what do you need my help with?

With Vic and Emma

Emma: Can I meet her?

Vic: baby doll I don't think that's such a good idea I'm not the biggest fan of Lizzie and your father is still on the fence about it I'm sorry your daddy is still on the fence about her

Emma: but I wanna see what I think about her please mommy please

Emma puts on her puppy dog eyes and her puppy dog pout the one Vic could never resist

Vic: fine but you Gotta make it quick you have got to get some sleep

Vic picks Emma up out of bed and brings her into the living room where Lizzie and Walt are talking she lets Emma down on the ground

Lizzie: Well, is this the famous little lady?

Emma: Are you Lizzie ambrose?

Lizzie: I am and I heard your name is Emma

Emma: that's my name don't wear it out

Vic: OK that I have to apologize for she learned that from one of her uncles. Emma that is not polite to say please apologize

Emma: sorry

Lizzie:awe that's alright

Vic: well she just wanted to meet you she's heard your name around come on em let's get you back to bed

Emma: Do I really have to go back to bed?

Vic: Emma!

Vic gives her that look Emma knows but she reluctantly went back to her bedroom Vic followed her and tucked her back into bed then joined Walt and Lizzie in the living room she decided to sit on Walt's lap. Now Lizzie is real confused

Lizzie: Am I missing something here?

Vic: Walt and I are engaged the weddings in one month

Lizzie is definitely stunned by the news but she's not too surprised she called it all those years ago but she'd be lying and she said she wasn't a little stung

Lizzie: congratulations

Walt: Thanks, would you like an invite to the wedding?

Vic's eyes go wide. She cannot believe Walt just asked that question. she gives Walt a look like what!?

Lizzie: nah, but As to why I'm I came in search of advice I'm in some legal trouble and I was hoping maybe you could help me

Vic: What kind of legal trouble?

Lizzie: don't worry it's nothing like murder I got arrested for shoplifting but they let me go but now I was served with papers I was just hoping you could prepare me for the trial

Walt: well we would but see I'm not sheriff anymore and Vic is not a cop for right now but my daughter Cady sure will she's the sheriff now

Vic: i'll write down her contact info

Vic goes to the kitchen to write down Cady's contact info for Lizzie and hands it to her Lizzie bids her goodbyes and Walt and Vic go back to bed the next morning Emma is the first one to wake she runs into Walt and Vic's room and jumps on the bed they both wake up when they feel the bed bounce

Emma:time to wake up

She gives her famous smile

Walt:she's right Vic

Vic: But, Walt can't we sleep in on a Saturday like normal people?

Walt: not when you have a three-year-old around the house come on Miss Lazy butt get up

Emma: yeah mama get up

Vic groans But gets out of bed regardless with Walt and Emma right behind them they make their way into the kitchen to get some breakfast on the menu today Walt's world famous extra fluffy pancakes and his famous fried bacon Walt serves Vic a plate Emma a plate and himself

Emma: So what are we going to do today?

Walt: Well you, mommy, and Cady are gonna go look for her wedding dress and your bridesmaid dresses and Henry and I are going to go get my tux fitted so it fits me better

Emma: Mommy, what color is my dress going to be?

Vic: my favorite color dark purple and before you ask my dress is going to be white just like every other bride and your dad's suit is black and white except his tie that's gonna be dark purple just like your dress

About 10 minutes later they all finish breakfast, Vic and Emma make their way over to meet Cady at the dress shop and Walt waits at the cabin for Henry to come over. with the girls in the parking lot

Vic: thanks for meeting us here

Cady: No problem there are no emergencies this morning at the station so I really have nothing better to do. This is probably the best thing I'm ever going to do. Hey little sis you ready to get this dress adventure underway?

Emma: I'm so excited Mommy told me we're gonna have matching dresses

Cady:No way that's so exciting. Let's get in there

They make their way into the dress shop 'miss Lily's dresses' they walk up to the front counter

Miss Lily:May I help you?

Vic:Yes,we have an appointment name is moretti,Victoria

Miss lily looks at her calendar

Miss Lily:oh yes the second young woman who was able to sink her claws into Walter Longmire...so your order was a white full lace dress with a sweetheart neckline with a long matching vail, a misses dark purple above the knee dress and the same one but in toddlers

Vic: Yes

Miss Lily:Alright Victoria

Vic:oh please call me vic

Miss Lily:Alright Vic, you will follow me to the left and you two will go to the right with my assistants Rose and daisy

Emma:no mommy I wanna stay with you

Vic:Emma, Cady will be with you the whole time

Emma:no I want you

Vic turns to miss Lily

Vic:I'm sorry, is there any way we could all be together?

Miss Lily:Of course follow me

They all follow Miss Lily to the left.

Miss Lily: Alright here are the dressing rooms

Vic turns to Emma

Vic:babydoll you're gonna have to go in the dressing room alone with Daisy

Cady:we'll be right next to you

Emma:Okay

About three hours later they all have the alterations to the dresses

Vic:Thank you again miss Lily

Miss Lily: No problem at all this is why we do what we do we love getting people hitched your dresses will be ready in the next two weeks I'll give you a call

Vic: thanks either Cady or I will pick them up

They all leave the dress shop Cady goes back to the sheriff's station Emma and Vic make their way back to the cabin but Vic can tell something is seriously wrong with Emma so she easily Asks Emma

Vic: Sweetheart, are you feeling OK? You never wanted to cling like that to me like you did today before?

Emma looks to Vic

Emma: I just love you that's all

Vic: you have always loved me and I know that for a fact now tell me the truth

Emma: ever since my kidnapping I've been a little scared to be on my own I never want to be in a situation like that again

Vic: Well you were fine in your own room the other night and Walt and I talked to you about 'Stranger Danger' and like I said even though you were going to the other side of the store Cady was going to be with you the whole time… and I appreciate that you want to be with me all the time and that you love me but I miss my old independent little girl but We're gonna have to work on your confidence a little bit

They finally arrive back at the cabin as Henry is getting ready to pull out. Vic gets out of the car and helps Emma out of her car seat and she jumps out of the car. She runs over to Walt with Vic close behind

Walt: How was the dress fitting?

Vic:uh… we had a little issue with Emma there but It resolved itself just fine

She Lowers her voice to a whisper so only Walt can hear her

Vic: when she goes to bed tonight though I need to talk to you

Walt just gives her a nod Henry leaves and they all go into the cabin to get some lunch again Henry brought over some of his famous cheeseburgers and fries Vic's favorite. After lunch Vic, Walt,and Emma are watching Disney's Annie from the year 1999 Emma's all-time favorite.

Emma: Mommy, what's an orphan anyway?

Vic: well Sadly baby girl it's a child that doesn't have parents

They finished the movie and then decided to call Cady to come over for dinner but she said she had a date tonight so they all decide to go out for dinner to a new place that just opened down the street from the sheriff station

Waitress: welcome to Hearth n' kettle my name is Heather and I'll be your server tonight, can I start you off with some drinks?

Walt: Do you guys have rainier beer here?

Heather: sorry sir we don't we have bud, Bud light, or just our signature draft beer

Walt:bud light please

Vic: I would like a Northern light please

Emma:I would like some lemonade please

Heather:Okay, Thank you. Your drinks will be right out

They eat and then leave the restaurant, then Walt and Vic decide to take Emma to the Arcade for her very first time. First thing the roller coaster ride

Emma:Mommy, will you do this one with me?

Vic:uh...I'm feeling a little queasy. Walt?

Walt: Uh sure,why not?

Walt and Emma get on the ride while they are having fun and playing all the games together Vic is mostly in the bathroom puking her guts Out after the fourth time she was in the bathroom Walt decided to take her aside while Emma is busy trying to play ski ball to the best of her ability alone

Walt: Are you all right?

Vic: I don't think so it must be the flu or something

Walt: Vic,do you think there's any chance You could be pregnant again?

Vic is very startled by Walt's question. it could be possible that she is pregnant again I mean her Walt have done plenty of what they call baby making she's too scared to answer verbally so she physically answers by nodding her head they finally leave the arcade stop by the little store so Vic can pick up a pregnancy test and make their way back to the cabin as soon as They get back Vic goes right to the bathroom to take a test. Two minutes later… Vic comes out of the bathroom with the pregnancy test and quietly shows it to Walt it reads positive. Walt can see Fear in her eyes he pulls her in close and whispers in her ear

Walt:Everything is gonna be okay.

By this point Vic has tears streaming down her face...Walt tells her to wait in the bedroom for him she slips into the bedroom he steps into the living room and Crouches Down to Emma's level

Walt:Hey spunker,after I talk to mommy it's bedtime,okay?

She smiles and nods at Walt he joins Vic in the bedroom she's sitting on the bed shaking,sobbing hard but still just staring at the pregnancy test

Walt:What is it you're worried about?

Vic:everybody's reactions,you dealing with my hormones,you being a father of two at your age...everything

Walt: Vic,I will be just fine...and Cady she will be Ecstatic. Everybody else has not changed much in three years...you know how they are

Vic just nods and wipes her tears.

Vic:When shall we tell Emma?

Walt:now

Vic:now?

Walt:now

Walt takes Vic by the hand and they walk into the living room and ask Emma to join them on the couch

Vic: Daddy and I have something very special to tell you

Emma: OK, what is it?

Walt: you are going to be a big sister

Emma has no words she too stunned to speak but then she musters up something in that little voice of hers

Emma:Mommy,you're pregnant?

Vic:Yes, How do you feel about that?

Emma: I'm so excited,girl or boy?

Walt:We won't know that for a while but what would you like it to be?

Emma:it doesn't matter I will love it no matter what

Vic:smart answer with my raging hormones

A few weeks later...finally it's the big day of the Moretti Longmire wedding. Vic's mom just helped her pin her vail in Cady and Emma come out of the bathroom

Emma:mommy you look just like Aurora

Vic: Thank you babydoll both of you look like goddess

Cady:uh...Lena,Emma, can I have a moment alone with Vic?

Lena:sure we'll go check on the gentleman

Emma and Lena leave the room. With Vic and Cady

Cady:Vic, you really look beautiful

She takes hold of both of Vic's hands in hers

Vic: Thanks, listen I know this might be awkward for you with me being only a few years older than you but I'm really glad you could be here

Cady:i'm glad I could be here as well and who cares about age it's but a number plus it's a chance to see my dad be happy again

Vic gives her a small smile and Cady pulls her in for a hug

Vic:Hey careful you'll crush my dress

Cady takes a step back

Cady: oh sorry

They share a chuckle. They hear a knock on the door Emma pops in

Emma:Mommy It's time

Vic:here we go

Vic is the last to leave the room; she takes a deep breath and hears the live orchestra strike up. The whole wedding goes smoothly I do's and all. At the after party Walt and Vic cut the cake, smush it in each other's faces then pass out slices. Walt whispers in Vic's ear

Walt:When are you gonna tell everybody you're pregnant?

Vic:right after the throwing of the Bouquet

Walt:Alright

The ceremony is in full swing now it is time to throw the bouquet. Ruby is the lucky catcher. Walt and Vic step up on stage and Vic takes hold of the microphone

Vic: we want to thank all of you for coming, To be honest a lot of you have come to Walt and I and have told us that you saw this coming now for news you guys never thought would come...I'm pregnant Walt and I are going to be parents again

The crowd is in stunned silence but then they hear a single slow applaud from Cady and then everyone eventually joins in. Vic and Walt step off stage as everyone gives them congratulatory hugs

Cady: I can't believe I might be having a little brother so exciting congratulations dad and vic whenever you need help I am here for you

Vic: thanks I'll take you up on that offer because I am going to need a lot of help and hey you might be dealing with another little sister on your hands

Walt: oh but It would be so nice to have a little man in the family don't get me wrong I love Cady and Emma with all my heart but there's something about a boy and his father that they have such a special bond that cannot be had with a little girl

Cady: we all know what you're saying dad we hope you get that little man

Walt: thanks punk and thanks for watching Emma while we go on our honeymoon

Cady: my pleasure well It looks like people are starting to leave so you guys better start packing I'll help Emma pack for my place

Vic: all right

They all make their way into the cabin Cady and Emma in Emma's room Walt and Vic in their bedroom Lena is in the kitchen making some coffee. Cady and Emma come out of Emma's room into the kitchen Lena hands Cady a mug of coffee and gives Emma a juice box.

Lena: Can I ask you some sort of a personal question?

Cady: well you can but I can't promise you an answer

Lena: Are you really Walt's daughter? Because you look nothing like him, are you sure you're not one of his past mistresses?

Vic strides in the kitchen giving her mom the most shocked look she has ever given her mom

Vic: mom! What kind of person asks a question like that? You totally just embarrassed Walt and I let alone Cady

Cady: no Vic honestly it's fine because she's right I don't look anything like my dad but I look exactly like my mother if you look at the picture up on that shelf over there that's my mom not me dad always called us the twins because I look exactly like my mom crazy family resemblance isn't it?

Vic goes over to get a closer look at the picture so does her mother it looks exactly like Cady except the eye color the color is completely different Martha has piercing violet eyes Cady sometimes has her fathers blue and sometimes her grandmothers green

Lena:well your story checks out

Vic checks the time

Vic:oh Walt, we better get going

Cady: oh yeah...lil sis,are you ready for our slumber party?

Emma:What's a slumber party?

Vic:It's like a huge sleepover only you throw a little party into it

Emma:oh.

She turns to Cady

Emma:sissy I'm so excited for our slumber party

Cady and Emma give everyone hugs and kisses to the correct people before they leave then they leave. Vic and Walt leave after Cady and Emma. Lena is going to keep an eye on the cabin while everybody is gone with Walt and Vic on their way to the airport.

Vic: I can't believe I am Mrs. Victoria Longmire it sounds so unreal and Emma is no longer Emma Moretti she's Emma Longmire

Walt: I know what you mean but I love hearing those two first names before the last name so, Are you excited that we're going to Italy?

Vic: yeah. That's where my mom and my dad went for their honeymoon considering we are Italian on both sides. It made sense. Walt,did you ever think we were originally supposed to be together?

Walt: If I'm being honest no I was too focused on finding someone exactly like Martha the perfect little housewife and Donna could've been like that but I've come to realize that's not what I want. I want a strong independent woman that can make me feel as young as I want to feel. but I know you can also give me what I want at times without me controlling you without you controlling about you?

Vic: Well I've always dreamed about us getting together. It's no secret that I've always had feelings for you. but if I was being honest I would have to say no when I arrived in Wyoming I was married to Sean that turned into a complete shit show and Emma was the best thing that ever happened to me but all my dreams came true except the job I got to talk to your daughter about getting my deputy position back. Working for Henry is great and everything it's just not me.

Walt gives her a small smile and nods his head. They finally arrive at the airport. with Cady and Emma at Cady's house.

Cady: here we are casa da Cady

Emma: Sissy what does Casa da mean?

Cady: it could mean one of two things it could either mean Cady's house or house of Cady to be honest I'm not completely sure which one

Emma: oh. So are we going to go in or what?

They get out of the car and make their way into Cady's house. with Lena at the cabin. She just finished cleaning up while searching through the books shelfs she finds Walt's diary. She decides to respect his privacy and looks at one of his old picture albums from when Cady was Emma's age instead. The next day with Walt and Vic just getting off the plane in Verona, Italy.

Vic: finally we are here that trip took forever

Walt: I think we'll get our luggage, check into the hotel, and then go on one of those wine and cheese tasting things.

Vic: sounds like heaven to me. Maybe we have time for a stomach massage before the wine and cheese tasting?

Walt: I think we can squeeze it in. Wait, I just thought about something

Vic: yeah I know I just thought of the same thing I can't have the wine so how about we just stay in that way the stomach massage will definitely help with the pain of missing the wine and cheese tasting thing

Walt: yeah it will help your pain of missing it, What about me?
