(Somewhere in another multiverse)
Under the brilliant starlight of a dying world, a small craft pierced the darkened skies of Krypton. Aboard, a young boy named Mina-To, barely six years of age, clutched a device containing all the knowledge his civilization had ever amassed. His pod soared into the cosmos as his home crumbled into chaos, charting a survival course.
The journey was uncertain as the pod hurtled through the vast expanse of space. Encapsulated in his tiny sanctuary, Mina-To watched the stars blur into light streams. He was alone, save for the whispers of history and science that his ancestors had left behind in the recordings.
As his pod approached a shimmering veil in space, a space-time anomaly unlike any other, it seemed as though reality began to warp. The fabric of space stretched and twisted, pulling the small craft into its embrace. Mina-To felt a strange sensation as if time were bending around him, a cosmic dance that drew him inexorably forward.
Just as he was about to emerge on the other side of this celestial maelstrom, a figure appeared before him. It was both awe-inspiring and terrifying, cloaked in robes that shimmered with the essence of the universe—colors unknown to the human eye. This was The Keeper, a celestial being charged with maintaining the balance of realities within his multiverse.
"Young voyager." The Keeper's voice echoed within the confines of the pod, both gentle and commanding. "Your arrival here stands at the brink of disrupting a delicate equilibrium. This universe, unmarked by the struggles of your home, holds its own fragile balance."
Wide-eyed yet resolute, Mina-To listened as The Keeper continued, "Should you one day choose to blend your lineage with the beings of this world, know this—the continuation of your life will hinge on that balance. A life for a life, should the scales tip too far."
The Keeper vanished with a flash of cosmic light, and the anomaly's grip loosened. Mina-To's pod completed its journey through the anomaly, exiting into the space above the Earth of this new multiverse. His pod momentum coming out of the anomaly propelled it forward toward Earth. As the pod entered Earth's atmosphere, its outer shell began to heat up with a new course set on an island in the middle of what appeared to be an ocean.
As the pod got closer and closer to the surface, landing thrusters engaged, slowing its descent. As the pod slowed to a halt, metal legs extended out of it, allowing it to rest on the soft Earth on the outskirts of a place untouched by his world's advanced knowledge.
As he stepped out into the fresh air, filled with the scents of a world teeming with life yet unknown, he felt a strange sensation. His body and spirit aligned with a counterpart native to this world—a boy just like him but bound to the mystical forces of their environment. This merge granted him new insights but left him inexplicably clumsy with these newfound abilities.
It wasn't long before curiosity brought another child to his landing site. A red-haired girl no older than him approached with cautious steps. She was Kushina from a nearby village called Uzushiogakure, and her spirited nature led her to explore beyond her familiar borders.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice tinged with suspicion and intrigue.
Still disoriented but finding comfort in her presence, Mina-To offered a cryptic reply, "I'm just arriving from far beyond the stars."
Intrigued and perhaps sensing the mystery that enveloped this boy, Kushina decided, there and then, to take him back with her. "Well, you can't just stay here." she declared with a mix of command and kindness. "Come with me. I'll show you Uzushiogakure." She said before grabbing his hand
As they walked back together, hand in hand, Mina-To looked up at the sky, now so different from the one he had known. He was in a new world, with a new destiny and, possibly, a new friend. The cosmic scales had shifted with his arrival, and only time would reveal the true impact of his presence in this unfamiliar universe.
(In the space between universes of the Narutoverse – Limbo)
In the boundless expanse of Limbo, where time and space melded into an ethereal tapestry, a soul drifted—ethereal and luminous. This soul, belonging to someone from a distant reality, hovered in the liminal space between worlds, drawn by forces beyond the ordinary.
As the soul acclimated to this realm of existence, a figure emerged from the void—The Keeper. Clothed in robes that flowed like the fabric of the universe, its presence was comforting and imposing. The Keeper's voice, resonant and clear, broke Limbo's silence.
"You have been summoned here for a purpose of great consequence." The Keeper began, its tone imbued with gravity. "A cosmic imbalance demands rectification, stemming from an event linked to the offspring of a being who traverses the boundaries between worlds—specifically, a Kryptonian whose actions have set these events into motion."
The soul listened intently as The Keeper continued, "Your role is pivotal. The fabric of this reality requires a balance that only someone of your unique capabilities can provide."
Regarding the memories from the soul's past life, The Keeper elaborated, "Your earthly knowledge and experiences are invaluable and will be preserved. Although limited at first, it will return with time. The skills you have honed and your insights into technologies and complex systems will remain intact. Your understanding of worlds beyond—narratives of heroes, battles, and alliances—will persist. However, they will be limited, and their clarity may shift as needed for you to fulfill your role here."
The Keeper's gaze seemed to penetrate the essence of the soul's being, ensuring the weight of the words settled deeply. "You will retain the essence of who you are—your personality, resilience, and intellect. These traits are essential for the journey ahead."
The Keeper provided a glimpse into the destined path as the ethereal winds of Limbo whispered around them. "You are to become a guardian and a unifier. The entity known as Kurama will become part of your story, and you will meld with it as you are to do with others of its kind. Your existence will bridge the dispersed energies of this world, leading to the reunion of ancient spirits. You will become a vessel for a formidable convergence."
The significance of this revelation hung in the air, filled with promise and daunting responsibility. The Keeper's final words echoed in the shifting mists of Limbo, "This path is yours to walk. The balance you will bring holds the key to the stability of this realm and possibly beyond."
With that, the figure receded into the fabric of Limbo, leaving the soul to absorb the gravity of their new existence. The transition from an observer of tales to a participant in a cosmic saga was complete, and the journey toward an unimaginable destiny was set to begin.
(What would have been the night of Naruto's birth – Kushina's birthing chambers)
In the quietude of a secluded cave, shielded by ancient rocks and dense foliage outside the boundaries of Konoha, the atmosphere was tense yet filled with an underlying current of joy. Here, beneath the soft glow of lantern light, Kushina Uzumaki lay with the support of soft linens, her expression a mixture of pain and anticipation.
Beside her, Minato, her husband, held her hand with unwavering support, his eyes reflecting a deep, unspoken understanding of the moment's significance. A few steps away, Takeshi, the Fourth Hokage, stood vigil. His presence was protective and pivotal, though his exact role in these moments was known only to a few.
A medical ninja, skilled and calm, attended to Kushina, guiding the process with a practiced ease. A midwife, her hands both gentle and assured, stood ready to assist in bringing a new life into the world.
The cave, a place chosen for its privacy and safety, echoed softly with the sounds of a gentle wind outside and the low murmurs of the assembled group. The tension peaked as Kushina's efforts culminated in the birth of a child, a boy whose first cries pierced the silent anticipation.
Overcome with emotion, Minato looked at Kushina, who smiled with profound love despite her exhaustion. "Aito." she whispered, the name floating softly in the air, a simple utterance filled with hopes and dreams for their son.
Minato repeated the name, "Aito." his voice was a soft echo of Kushina's, filled with pride and a promise of protection.
The midwife carefully wrapped the newborn in a soft blanket, her experienced hands ensuring his comfort as she handed him to the medical ninja. They gently cleaned him, tending to the new life with professionalism and care that spoke of a deep respect for the life they held in their hands.
As the medical team stepped away to finalize the care of the newborn Aito, Minato, and Kushina shared a look of profound happiness and relief. Their family had grown, their bond deepened by the shared experience of bringing another life into their world.
Outside, the land of Fire remained oblivious to the small yet infinitely significant event within the cave as the cycle of life continued in its beautiful, enduring rhythm.
In the shadowed recesses of the cave, the air hung heavy with a mix of elation and fatigue following Aito's birth. The light from the lanterns flickered, casting soft shadows on the walls illuminating the faces of Kushina, Minato, and Takeshi as they shared a quiet, joyous moment. The midwife and medical ninja had just taken the newborn away to another part of the cave, a few steps from the main birthing area, to clean and prepare him for his first embrace with his parents.
Unbeknownst to those gathered, a figure cloaked in darkness observed from a hidden vantage point. His eyes, a piercing Sharingan, scanned the room through a swirling orange mask. He waited, biding his time with a predator's patience.
As Takeshi turned his attention to Kushina, reinforcing the seal that contained Kurama, a chilling silence fell over the cave. It was then that the masked intruder made his move. Silently, he approached the area where the midwife and medical ninja were tending to Aito. With swift, lethal precision, he neutralized them both, their bodies slumping to the ground unnoticed amidst the shadows.
With Aito in his grasp, the masked figure stepped into the lantern light, his presence suddenly dominating the space. "Step away from the Jinchuriki. One wrong move and the child dies." he commanded, his voice cold and menacing, as he held a kunai to the tiny throat of the newborn.
Takeshi caught between his duty to the seal and the immediate threat to the child, hesitated, his eyes darting between Kushina and the intruder. With a heavy heart, he stepped back, his hands raised slightly to show compliance.
Kushina gasped, tears of fear and fury filling her eyes, while Minato moved as if to intervene, only to be stopped by a sharp gesture from the masked man.
"Enough." the masked man said, his Sharingan swirling hypnotically. "This ends now." With a quick motion, a swirling vortex warped the space around Kushina and himself. In a blink, they vanished, leaving only a disturbed air in their wake.
In the same instant, he tossed Aito into the air. With his reflexes, Minato lunged forward, his heart pounding as he caught his son mere inches from the ground. The masked figure disappeared through the swirling vortex before anyone could react, leaving a palpable sense of shock and betrayal.
Regaining his composure, Takeshi rushed back to Kushina's side, only to find her gone. Once a place of joyous birth, the cave had turned into a scene of despair and urgency. Minato cradled Aito, whispering reassurances to his son, even as his mind raced with plans for rescue and retribution. The shadow of the day's joy was eclipsed by the looming threat, setting the stage for a desperate quest to reclaim what was lost.
(Half an hour and miles away in a secluded clearing)
In the stillness of the night, under a sky veiled by clouds, the secluded area near Konoha was suddenly alight with the fearsome presence of Kurama, newly freed from its confines. The air vibrated with its roars, sending tremors through the ground. The towering fox, aglow with untamed power, scanned its surroundings, seething with rage.
From the shadows emerged Minato, his expression a mask of determination. Clutched in his arms was the newborn Aito, serene despite the chaos. Setting Aito gently beside the unconscious Kushina, Minato's gaze hardened as he took in the scene. A medical ninja, sent discreetly by Takeshi, slipped quietly from the underbrush to tend to Kushina, her movements careful and silent.
The masked Sharingan user, his swirling orange mask glinting under the moonlight, confronted Minato. "You're too late." he taunted, his voice a mix of victory and malice.
Without a word, Minato charged, his movements a blur to the untrained eye. The masked man reacted just in time, activating his Sharingan to predict Minato's movements. The two clashed in a dance of power and speed, Minato's precision against the masked man's cunning.
Using his exceptional abilities, Minato landed a series of rapid strikes, each parried by the Sharingan wielder. The fight escalated, with Minato pushing the attacker back step by step. With a final, powerful move, Minato sent the masked man reeling, forcing him to retreat, disappearing into thin air with a swirl of space.
Breathing heavily, Minato felt an unfamiliar sensation—a waning of his life force, the balance dictated by The Keeper beginning to take effect. He staggered towards Aito and Kushina, his vision blurring at the edges.
Kurama, seizing the moment of distraction, lunged towards Kushina, its massive tails sweeping across the earth. With the last of his strength, Minato intervened, summoning the Reaper Death Seal. The spectral figure of the Reaper appeared, and Minato directed it towards Aito. "Forgive me," he whispered as the seal transferred Kurama into his son.
As the process neared completion, Minato knelt by Kushina, gently brushing a lock of hair from her face. "Kushina," he murmured, his voice fading, "don't blame Aito for this. Ensure Naruto knows the same. I was fortunate to be a father to him, even briefly."
With those final words, a subtle glow surrounded Aito—a faint cloak of chakra that seemed to protect and embrace him. The source was mysterious, almost divine, hinting at a profound legacy being passed on. As Minato's form began to dissipate, his last sight was of Kushina's slowly opening eyes, meeting his gaze with a mixture of confusion and dawning grief.
The night reclaimed its quiet as Minato vanished completely, leaving behind his family, a legacy of bravery, and the echoes of a battle that would shape the destinies of all involved.
As you guys have probably noticed, I have changed some things. I have changed this Mina-To's origins, so he is not from "Earth". I have also changed Kushina's ancestry. I'm going to try and average 2.5-5k words per chapter from here on out
