Hey guys, welcome to the first chapter of our first story for Ever After High, Ever After High: Black Cat Tales. This story is co-written with my friend IrishKatana. Here we go.
Male Narrator: Gather round friends and let us you a story. The story of Ever After High…
We see a towering castle like building with many young people milling around the courtyard. In the courtyard we also see a sign that reads Ever After High.
Male Narrator: A high school for the teenage sons and daughters of the most famous fairy tale characters who ever lived.
We then see many of these sons and daughters hanging around the school.
Female Narrator: And among them was the daughter of Snow White, Apple White, the future queen.
Apple White was a teenage girl with pale skin, blue eyes and long, curly blonde hair. She wore a short dress underneath a white vest with poofy short sleeves. Her dress consisted of various shades of red, along with black laces. Finishing off her look were gray stockings, red shoes, and a red bow in her hair.
Male Narrator: Don't forget the daughter of the Evil Queen, Raven Queen, a sorceress in the making.
Raven Queen was a teenage girl with pale skin and violet eyes. Her slightly wavy consisted of black, purple and maroon. She wore a short, black dress consisting of purple, light purple, and silver. She really went for the goth appearance, with the black lipstick, along with feather, spikes, chains, etc.

Percival "Percy" Chat, was a tall teenage boy with medium skin. His outfit lean into the punk look, consisting of black leather, silver studs and chains. He had a studded belt with a belt buckle in the shape of cat head. Like his dad, he wore boots, though like the rest of his attire, they were punk. He also wore a fedora with cat ears on each side, a single feather sticking out on the side. Completing his look was a pair of dark cat's eye sunglasses, which hid his eyes very well.

"I'd offer you a seat, but… I'm "evil". To sit here, you'd have to be pretty—" Raven was cut off by flash of light, "Daring…" she said as Dexter's older brother, Daring Charming, walking into the lunch room with Apple White hugging his arm, all the other girls cheering at his presence alone.
The cat in Raven's lap growled with narrowed eyes.
"What? No, Raven, I'm Dex, Dexter Charming. Daring's my brother," Dexter tried to explain, only for his words to fall on def ears his brother's teeth shined again.
"Raven! How's every enchanted thing?" Apple greeted as she and Daring approached.
"Apple White. Good to see ya," Raven greeted back, now carrying the cat in her arms as she and Dexter walked up to them, "Hey Daring," she greeted the prince.
"I, uh, have to warn you, don't stare at the teeth. Just got them whitened," Daring said, turning his head with a grin, the light of his teeth tanning two of the three pigs while frying the other.
That's when the bell rang.
"Oh, there's the bell! Time for Good Kingdom Management. Raven, what's your next class?" Apple asked Raven.
"Uh, History of Evil Spells?" Raven replied.
Apple giggled, "That is so perfect for you," she said, Raven rolling her eyes.
That's when Cerise Hood, daughter of Little Red Riding Hood, came walking by.
"Hey, Cerise. How's it going?" Daring greeted with his trademark grin.
This time the light of his teeth shined in not only Cerise's eyes, but in the eyes of the cat in Raven's arms. Cerise growled, almost like a wolf's growl, but she cleared her throat.
"Ahem. Oh, um, sorry, I… I have a cold…" Cerise said then ran off.
The cat in Raven's arms, however, growled and attempted to lunge at the prince. That is, if Raven hadn't reached out and grabbed the cat midair at that last minute. She then cradled the cat in her arms.
"Easy, kitty-cat. Calm down," Raven told the cat in a soothing tone. She scratched it behind the ear, the cat leaning into her touch as her action immediately calmed it down.
"Uh, sorry about that, little guy," Daring told the cat, only for it to hiss and swipe the air.
"I'd better take the little guy outside," Raven said.
Stepping out of the lunchroom, she entered a nearby janitor's closet and set the cat down.
"You really don't like Daring, do you… Percy?" Raven asked amusingly, her hands on her hips.
The cat rolled its eyes. It then transformed, turning into its human form, Percival Chat. Percy for short.
"No, I don't, Raven. No, I don't," Percy replied.
The two then stepped out of the closet.
"Well, don't let it get to you," Raven placed a hand on his shoulder, "And be sure to keep your sunglasses on. Don't want you getting into trouble with your eyes," she leaned in and kissed his cheek, "See you after school."
"See you, Rae," Percy said, the two of them walking down the halls in opposite directions.
Unknown to them, a certain someone had been listening.
Percy was walking past the entrance of the two forests, the dark forest and the enchanted forest, when he heard a familiar giggle.
"Come out, Kitty," Percy said out loud with slight annoyance.
Soon a grin appeared in thin air in front of one of the trees. Shortly after, the whole person appeared, a girl with huge, bouncy, lavender pigtails.
"Hey Purrcy," Kitty greeted, playfully putting emphasis on the first half of his name.
Percy sighed. He hated it when she said his name like that… unfortunately, that was extremely often.
"What do you want, Kitty?" Percy asked.
"What? Can't a girl just want to spend time with her fellow cat?" Kitty replied with a seemingly innocent pout.
"Not if that girl is you," Percy replied.
"Aww, now that hurts," Kitty said with a hand on her chest, feigning being emotionally stung.
There was a brief pause as the two cats stared at each other.
"So, there's something I've always wondered…" Kitty spoke.
"What?" Percy looked at her.
"The sunglasses. You don't take them off, even indoors. Why is that?" Kitty asked, tapping her cheek while raising an eyebrow.
"No reason. Just think I look cooler with them on," Percy replied with a small shrug.
Kitty, now curious, smiles her trademark Cheshire grin and disappears from sight. Soon, Percy feels a familiar feeling of dread creep down his spine.
"Oh, hex this going to end badly, I just know it," he muttered with a grimace.
Kitty then appeared in front of him, quickly removing the glasses from his face. Percy was a step ahead of her though and had his eyes closed, followed by covering them with his arm for extra assurance.
"Okay Kitty, you got one over on me. Now, please hand them over," he politely asked.
"Why?" Kitty asked playfully.
"I just want them back, ok?" Percy replied.
Percy knew he had to be careful with Kitty, or else she could make it a lot worse. So, he decided to give her a half truth.
"Kitty, I have a condition with my eyes. So, I need to wear the sunglasses," he carefully said.
"A condition?" Kitty repeated.
"Yes, Kitty. So, can I please have my sunglasses back?" he again asked.
Kitty held the sunglasses out to him. He quickly grabs them and puts them back on before anything can happen.
"Thank you, Kitty," he thanked her. Kitty then placed a hand on his chest, "Yes, Kitty?" he asked.
Kitty inched closer, their noses almost touching... before Kitty flicked his nose, knocking the sunglasses off his face. Before he could react, Kitty took his face into her hands.

"What?" Percy raised an eyebrow.

She says nothing as she gives him the Cheshire smile and disappears.

"Alright, I'll take your word for it," Percy replied.
"But you're right, Maddie, last night was fun, and a good way to kick off the new school year," Raven said with a smile.
"I'm still surprised you wanted to do it with me," Percy said.
"Hey," Raven hugged him, "Every witch needs a cat," she winked at him, tracing a circle on his chest with a finger.

"It's fine. You dropped these," Briar held out his sunglasses.

Briar blinked her eyes, "What just happened?" she asked.
Think nothing of Briar just shrugged.
"Okay, so… how's it going?" she asked.
"I'm doing good, you?" he asked back.
"Hexcellent. I'm throwing a party later this week after Legacy Day. A cool cat like you is welcome to come," Briar said with a wink.
"Uh, cool. I'll be there," Percy said.
