Nesrin somehow someway ends up in middle earth but more specifically two months before Bilbo sets up to join Thorin on his quest to reclaim Erebor. She manages to convince Bilbo to stay at his home for a couple of months by telling him a small white lie. She then tries convincing Bilbo of what's to come but he thinks she's just crazy and doesn't believe her until Gandalf shows up.

[First POV; Completed] Waking up in the body of a very male Bilbo Baggins in a whole different world was not on the top of Laura Aldine's list. But according to Gandalf, the Valar had their reasons. Laura just wished they had bothered to ask her first.

Bella Baggins is hired to be the burglar for the Company of Thorin Oakenshield. Only, she doesn't know this; nobody bothered to tell her she was supposed to be hosting thirteen dwarves and a wizard for dinner, to explain exactly what her duties as burglar entails. That would've been nice to know beforehand, thank you very much. She's off on an adventure.

AU. Here ye, here ye! Prince Thorin Oakenshield of Erebor is throwing a masquerade ball (against his will by his mother) and all are invited. AU where the heirs of Durin survive BoFA. Kíli rules the Blue Mountains, now only a shadow of what it was before the Retake of Erebor, where Thorin is king and Fíli is crown prince, both of whom he misses dearly, but someone has to take charge of the settlement. Things are bad enough, but get worse – Kíli is summoned to Erebor to perform his duty as a spare and marry a princess.

"Your people had their home stolen and their people killed. They were forced to wander starving in exile, reduced to blacksmiths. They were rejected by elves and scorned by men. Now your uncle tries to reclaim your homeland and seek justice for the wrongs committed against your people. I don't care if you are elves, hobbits, humans, or dwarves. I WILL not stand for injustice."

Bilbo Baggins is a shifter. The only shifter known to have the creature he can shift into. For this, he is hated in the Shire and wanted gone even though he protects the Shire with the help of the rangers. Gandalf needs a burglar and recruits Bilbo without telling the dwarves he is a shifter. Summary continues inside...
