The following day, after school, on the way out, Andy said, "Mary Anne, Rick and Jack want to meet you today. They're twins and my age."
"Hate to say this, but I have plans, so it won't be a good time to do so," I said.
"How about the weekend?" asked Andy.
"That's out for me, too," I said.
"Maybe some other time," said Andy.
"Maybe," I said.
Honestly, I'm not so sure about these guys. I had heard they are bad news. I looked at the clock and noticed I was running late to meet up with the Willis girls.
"Sorry if I was late," I said.
"No worries. We just got here, too," said Kayla.
"Oh, good," I said. "Did your mom tell you girls I'll have Jeff with me?"
"Yes," replied Kaylee.
"Okay, good," I said. "Sharon was in a bind. She had no one to watch him."
"We don't mind him," said Kayla.
"I'm planning to get a new phone, but I haven't seen Dad to ask him," I said. "I'm just going to look at them first."
"Andy wanted me to meet his guy friends, but I told him this is the bad time to meet up," I said.
"What guys?" asked Kayla.
"Rick and Jack," I said.
"Oh, brother. Are you talking about those two idiots?" asked Kayla.
"What do you mean?" asked Kaylee.
"They're bad news," said Kayla.
"I heard about that, too," I said.
"I bet that's the way Andy gets into trouble in the first place," I said.
"Bingo. I've told April about him, but she ignores me," said Kayla.
"I didn't hear that," said Kaylee.
"I thought you knew from Beth," said Kayla.
"I don't see her much," said Kaylee.
I can see what Kaylee meant. When they're in shop cycle, they are in different shops right now and they only see each other during class cycle. I'm in class cycle with April and Kayla. I see them more in class than shop. Kaylee and Beth are getting closer, but I didn't mind. I still see them a lot.
"I can't stand Andy at all," I said. "He's the one who had the habit to come over when Sharon and Dad are not home."
"April is lucky she didn't get caught," said Kaylee.
"And, forcing you not telling your father is wrong," said Kayla.
"I know," I said. "The bad part is that I haven't seen Dad to tell him."
"When is his boss back to work?" asked Kayla.
"Monday," I said. "I didn't want to bother him at work just to tell him about what's going on."
"You have a good point, but you have Sharon," said Kaylee.
"Don't forget you have your stepmother, too," Kaylee pointed out.
"True. But I never tell her any of my problems before," I said.
"I thought you did," said Kayla.
"No," I said. "I'm used to tell Dad anything. What if she gets mad at me if she knew I didn't tell her about it in the first place?"
"I think she'd understand the reason," said Kaylee. "She'll get mad at April, not you."
"I can't wait to see him. I miss not seeing him," I said.
I knew she had a point. I love having company with the girls. At the food court, Andy was coming over with his friends.
"Oh, no, speaking of the devils," whispered Kayla.
"April couldn't make it. She had to study for a test," said Andy.
Which reminds me I have to do that, too. I always save it for at night. My problem is that I can't study for long periods of time because my neck gets stiffed. I take a break in between and I go back for a while. I still gets As that way.
"Since you couldn't meet them, I figured I'd bring them here," said Andy.
"Sorry, but I need time with my friends, too," I said.
"Rick have a favor," said Jack.
"I have to study for a Math test, but I do poor about Math, so can you help out?" asked Rick.
"I like to, but my father is working late and I can't bring you into my house when he's not home," I said.
"Not even for a favor?" asked Andy.
He will not take no for an answer. That's what I do not like about him.
"I said no, that's final. You should know better by now," I said.
"You better not say anything," said Andy.
"The more you threat her, she will do it," said Kayla.
She seen him threatened me before and she tells him off.
"Sharon is home, so I should ask her," I said.
"Why can't you do it without her?" asked Jack.
"She's responsible for me when Dad isn't home," I said.
I called Sharon to make sure if it was okay and she was fine with that. At home, I helped Rick study for a while until I said, "It's getting late. I have to get things ready for school."
He seemed to take that well so far. When I looked at the clock, I didn't think it was late and I almost forgot to study. All because of Rick and I wasn't going to let him distract and I don't need my grades go down because of him. Luckily, teachers let you study for a bit before the test begins if needed.
The next day, at school, I was able to study at the beginning of the class. My mind went completely blank all of sudden. This never happened to me. But I managed to do the test. I hope I'd make out fine. I didn't rush into anything. Last time I had a C- was when I had relationship problems with Logan, whom I had to break up for a brief time because he was too demanding. Doing that helped us being a better couple now.
At lunch, Kayla said, "Oh, plans have changed. Our younger group are going to be with their friends tomorrow for a sleepover party, but is it okay if we come over while you have Jeff?"
"Sure," I said.
Dad and Sharon don't mind having the girls over even when I'm baby-sitting for Jeff. They trust me.
After lunch, I was heading back to class when Mrs. Morgan stopped me halfway and said, "Are you free after school? I just need to talk to you alone.
"Um, okay," I said.
I did not like the sound of that. After school, I went to see her.
"Is there something that I did?" I asked.
"No, but I would like to talk to you about something," said Mrs. Morgan. "Is something bugging you?"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
When she showed me, I had a F. I panicked. I never failed on a test in my life. I knew what it was.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"Don't be sorry," said Mrs. Morgan.
"I think I got a little distracted last cycle. I helped someone study for a test," I said.
"I understand. It's good what you do," said Mrs. Morgan.
"By the time we were finished, I forgot to study for mine. I'm confused though. The teacher was letting us study for a bit," I said.
"I know. I did notice your mind was all over the place," said Mrs. Morgan.
I realized I had a good teacher to be on the look out. Mrs. Morgan cared about me.
"Why don't you stay here after school on Monday so you can do a retake?" asked Mrs. Morgan.
"I start shop cycle, but I can come by during lunch," I said.
"Either way is fine," said Mrs. Morgan.
