Conspiracy Kiki:
It was a normal day in The Island 2 Chronicle. Everyone was in their rainbow quartet stations. In the Red Quartet Station, math class was going on. Eddy, from Duolingo City, is the leader, and was teaching them the basics of long equations.
Eddy: {points to board with each point} And then, we have the exponents! These make up the square root questions in math equations.
Mario zoned out on what Eddy was saying. He was staring out the window behind him. He was watching Kiki, the new student, using a star he seemed to always carry around with him, to catch sunlight in a bottle? Whatever it was, Mario felt...Weird, about Kiki.
Eddy: Now, I'd like to get started, but first, are there any questions, any things you'd like to point out?
Kai raised his hand rapidly.
Eddy: Yes, Kai?
Kai: Can I leave?
Eddy facepalmed, and muttered some things about education, the future,…But was suddenly interuptted by an announcement.
August: Attention students! I would like to see Mario in my office, please. Immediatly.
Mario: What..?
Laval: Did you get in trouble?
Mario: Not that I'm aware of that...But maybe I did..?
Moana: Maybe she caught you staring out the window during math class?
Mario: [gets up and walks to front door] Pfft, yeah right. [Reaches door] That's not even possible. I'm in a different room.
Eddy: (seriously) This is The Island 2 Chronicle, Mario. Anything is possible.
Mario reached for the door handle as he thought about that.
Mario: ...Yeah. Yeah-yeah I got that.
Mario opened the door and went down to the office.
Eddy: Now, where were we...Oh yeah! Anyone have any questions?
Kai: Can I join him?
Eddy fainted.
Meanwhile, Mario had just reached the office. He hesitated at first, but then he slowly opened the door. August was sitting at her desk reading an archive, but perked up when she heard the door open.
August: Hi! [Puts archive away] Have a seat. We need to talk.
Mario sat down on the chair in front of August's desk.
Mario: Look, if I did anything that wasn't allowed, I wasn't aware of it, at all, so if I'm in trouble, then I'm truly sorry-
August: Oh, that's not why you're here.
Mario: Oh, really?
August: In fact, despite some language issues at our last concert, you're one of my best students!
Mario: Oh, thanks.
August: And so I decided that you should help Kiki feel more at home.
Mario: Great![realizes] Wait, you mean, our Kiki..?
August: If you mean Kiki, one of the Little Twin Stars, who is our only Kiki here, then yes!
Mario: Well, I don't mean to reject this job, but Kiki…..Isweird.
August: What?
Mario: Yeah! He does things that I never see from anywhere else! Like the time when I was watching Elmo on TV!
Mario described a flashback when Kiki had disturbed his time, and later Mario found him flying upside down in an infinity symbol.
Mario: And if that's not weird, then during math class with the Red Quartet, I saw him using that star to catch sunlight in a bottle? Like, WHO NEEDS SUNLIGHT IN A BOTTLE!?
August: Okay, first of all, you need to calm down. And second of all, Kiki is new here, and so we don't fully understand his...ways. So while it might seem weird at first, what Kiki was doing, he was doing it for a reason.
Mario: Well yes, but-
August: And that's exactly why I'm asking that you get along with him, and try to understand him better.
Mario: Can't Kuromi and My Melody do that? After all, they're from the same company as Kiki. They are right here! And they already know each-other!
August: Kiki is here for a reason, too. And knowing the history that you've had here….Well, it just might be possible that Kiki might have played a part in it! Or at least, according to my recent research-
Mario: Wait, what?
August: More on that later.
Mario felt slightly uncomfortable. Then again, did he have any other reason for always staring at Kiki when he did...things?
August: And yes, I do understand that Kuromi and My Melody know him better, but the rest of the Chronicle doesn't. They know you, and they trust you, so it's only a good idea. And you can do this with your brother Luigi too! It's a great opportunity to make a new friend!
Mario: Well, I guess that would make this better…
August: All you need to do is make sure Kiki doesn't feel alone or left out. He came here on his own, all the way from another galaxy, without his older twin sister, Lala.
Mario: Oh.
August: So, with a reminder for your job, I am dismissing you from the office.
Mario: Thank you.
Mario gets up and walks to the door.
August: Don't forget what I've said!
Mario already walked out before he could hear the rest.
Later that night, Mario was sleeping in his room with his team. Everyone was sleeping. That is until Mario heard a noise that sounded like a banging sound, and then a clatter. It woke him up. Mario looked around. His friends were still sleeping. Mario decides to investigate the noise. He walks around, then he turns a bit, and finds lighting in the Roots Vault.
Mario: What…?
He takes the lift to the basement, and walks towards the light. And finds Kiki there, using a wrench to hit the power extractor…
Mario started to leap, but then he slowly began to have an idea…
Kiki was still hitting the Power Extractor, until he heard some noise...Musical noise. He turned around cautiously, and saw Mario singing.
{+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++}
Mario: (rapping) I don't know what yo doin' here, but I got a feeling I don't like da look of it.
Kiki was beyond confused.
Mario: What makes you think you could sneak out in this place without a soul knowing, banging loudly on a machine possibly destroying it.
Kiki stared at Mario. He could already tell that Mario had gone mad.
Mario: Cuz' I don't think anyone permitted you for totally suspicous act-iv-it-ty. So get out NOW. And I don't care HOW. Your life isn't any of my buisness what-so-ev-er. And if you wanna be safe, and not risk it for the grave, wouldn't it be safe if you only DECIDED, without having to FIGHT IT, reveal yo personal in-for-matIOOOONNNN-
Kiki: [Holds out hand] I'm Kiki!
[record scratch]
{+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++}
Mario stops. He slowly turns his head to Kiki, who wasn't at all afraid of his "Musical Threat".
Mario: Uuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh...[holds out hand] I'm Mario?
Mario is about to handshake with Kiki, until Kiki backs his hand away.
Kiki: [destends right hand] Oh sorry, wrong hand!
Kiki extends his left hand instead. Mario felt a bit weirded out at that.
Mario: [stares at Kiki's hand]…...Um, ok…?
Mario shook Kiki's left hand. There was a moment of silence. Mario just stared at the ground clueless as what to do next. Kiki just stared at him, smiling, as if waiting for Mario to say something. Kiki wasn't even blinking.
Mario: [hestitating] Soooooo...If you don't mind me asking, what were you doing with the Power Extractor?
Kiki: Oh! That thing? Yeah, I was trying to find a way to get the part in the machine that does the power extraction. You see, I like to invent things, just like my father.
Mario: Oh, um, that's nice. But what is it that you're inventing that you need that piece?
Kiki: ...I'm inventing a sun-powered rocket or spaceship to...well, I just had the idea and so I thought I'd make it.
Mario now knew what Kiki was doing with the bottle.
Mario: Well, I hope you finish it, but right now, you should go to bed. It's the middle of the night. And maybe you should find an extraction part somewhere else, because this Power Extractor is important to the Chronicle, and August wouldn't be happy if it was broken.
Kiki: ...I'll think about it.
Soon they are both in bed. Mario wondered about why Kiki didn't tell him the full reason for the rocket, until he fell asleep.
