Raceway
The cars were still lined up as they prepared to race through the tough track ahead.
Tony however, was even more panicked as he was still struggling to figure out how Layla had known h wasn't really Mitch.
His friends watched in horror as the race started and Layla was seemingly being very aggressive towards Tony from the jump.
"Don't worry guys, Tone's got this." Geleel said with a reassuring shrug.
He turned back towards the race as his mouth dropped when Layla rammed Tony into a wall.
The others looked at Geleel with wary expressions.
"He's dead." Was all the dreadhead could muster as the race continued.
Layla ushers Tony into a straight ahead pole as the young Toretto screamed and switched gears to avoid flattening himself.
"I can't watch!" Frostee shouted as he covered his eyes.
Unfortunately Tony had to hit a U-turn when he switched gears which put him dead in last place.
Echo looked up at the screen displaying the racer's positions since they had gone into tunnels no one could see them.
"Tony's in the wrong tunnel!" She exclaimed as they panicked.
"Come on T...where's that Toretto magic at?" Geleel questioned, almost as if by the grace of the car gods, Tony came flying out of the top tunnels.
"Woah." Was all everyone could say as he flew through the air and landed right behind Layla.
"Yea! Woohoo!" Cisco exclaimed, Tony was back in the race.
"Okay he's back in this thing, but he's still in last." Echo pointed out.
"Come on Echo, lighten up and have some faith, he's gonna break through just give him some time." Geleel said as Echo scoffed, GELEEL of all people was talking about lightening up? She'd seen it all.
"Well okay Mrs. Buttercup, excuse me for stating the truth." Echo said with a deadpan as Geleel mocked her.
"Come on T!" He opted to cheer Tony on instead of paying her mind.
Tony used the metal claw in Mitch's car to grab onto one to the racers.
He then slung the racer into a post, completely totaling the guy's car, everyone began cheering.
"Yea! That's what I'm talking about!" Echo cheered as her emotions did a full 180.
"Ahem." Geleel said as she jumped and then stared at him.
"Shutup." Echo said with an eyeroll as they began cheering again.
Tony was now in third place as he was stuck behind Layla and a red Ferrari.
Tony then fires a hook at Layla's car as he began using his own speed and the hook to get closer to her.
The red ferarri used this as a chance to speed up and take first place.
"Wait no...I don't think he should be doing that-" Geleel is cutoff when two saws came out of the back of Layla's car.
"Tony's gonna get sawed in half he doesn't let go!" Echo shouted as Tony's car got closer and closer to the blades.
As Tony got close enough the saws touched the skull on Mitch's hood.
Fortunately he was able to unhook in time before she could saw his car in half.
The team sighed in relief, the race still continued as Tony survived yet another near death experience.
They watched as a breakaway strip came up, Tony turned his rocket boosters on and zoomed right past Layla and the Ferrari.
"Woo! Yea! That's what I'm talkin bout T!" Geleel shouted as Echo gasped and grabbed his face.
"You idiot! Stop celebrating, look!" She shouted as she forced Geleel to look at a jump that the racers were approaching.
The major issue was...whilst Layla and the Ferrari, which ended up crashing after comleting the jump, did the jump with ease due to their boosters...Tony had just used all of his.
"Shit." Was all Geleel could say, there was no apparent way out of this one, Tony's luck was up.
Or so they thought...until they saw Tony attempt the jump.
Naturally, he didn't make the jump but he used the hook from earlier to hook onto one of the posts on the other side of the jump.
"No way." Frostee said as Tony swung with the car and landed safely on the other side of the track right in front of Layla who was all but shocked he made it.
His crew began cheering at the crazy stunt and the fact he was in first place now.
"Yea! Keep goin T!" Geleel shouted.
"He's gonna win! It's a straight shot to the finish line from here!" Cisco shouted as they watched Layla and Tony race down the stretch neck and neck.
As they continued watching in awe, a bunch of menacing growls drew their attention.
The crew turned around to notice 4 large individuals frowning at them.
"I don't suppose you guys wanna wait till after the race to put us in jail, right?" Geleel questioned the individuals as all they did was growl again.
Tony
The race's conclusion was all a mystery to everyone else, seeing as it appeared to be a tie, but to him, he clearly won.
"Yes! I won! I'm the winner! Where is my trophy? Guys did you see that?" Tony questioned aloud before a few grunts of struggles drew his attention.
"Yea...kinda hard to see anything when you're struggling against two meatheads." Geleel said as he and Cisco were being held by two large Hispanic individuals, a man and a woman.
"Yea I don't think this is the right time to celebrate." Cisco said as she was being detained along with Frostee by two smaller individuals.
"I hate to break it to ya but ya lost." Layla said as she frowned at Tony who returned the frown.
"Who am I kidding? I love breaking it to you." Layla said with a smirk as a group of guys began detaining Tony as well.
"Hey...this might not be the best time but, my name's Frostee, big faaaan, love your work!" Frostee shouted at Layla who was standing in front of him, she gave him a puzzled look.
"Seriously dude? Right now?" Geleel questioned the small teen, but before the conversation could continue Mitch's car exploding drew everyone's attention.
"There goes the bubblegum..." Cisco said as once again, everyone was confused by his statement.
"Now you! Tell me who you are and how you got into to my race!" Layla shouted as she nudged Tony's chest.
"Layla ease up!" A voice called out as they all turned to it.
The face was easily recognizable, the entire crew knew this was Shashi, the leader of SH1FT3R.
"Don't you know this isn't some random punk street racer? This is Tony Toretto." Shashi explained to Layla.
"You recognize me?" Tony asked in awe.
"I recognized your drving, you've got Dom's instincts." Shashi said as he tapped his own head.
"Oh please, T's jacket literally say Toretto in bold, he's just trying to butter him up-ack!" Geleel exclaimed as one of his captors used their large arms to squeeze his body.
"Okay Jack and Jill...I got it, no more talking out of me." Geleel said as he coughed to regain his breath.
"So, you must be Shashi Dhar?" Tony questioned Shashi.
"Woah, I'm impressed." Shashi replied.
"Well these are my streets, nothing happens here without me knowing about it." Tony said with a smirk.
If Geleel could raise his hand up to facepalm, he would.
As the conversation continued he started drowning it out, he and Echo had been using retina code to try and think of an escape plan.
"I don't go anywhere without my crew." He heard Tony say as he noticed Shashi's smirk.
"Just like Dom..." Shashi said as Geleel arched a brow, was this dude obsessed with Dominic Toretto or something?
"Enough of this nonsense! Get rid of them!" Layla shouted as the guys began dragging the crew away, along with Tony.
"Holdup! Is this how you treat everyone who wins one of your races?" Tony questioned as Layla scoffed.
"You didn't win! Who wants to see us race again right here right now?" Layla questioned as the crowd began cheering at the idea.
Geleel liked this, if this race happened it gave them more time to think of a plan.
"Woohoo yea!" Frostee and Echo cheered on the idea.
"Actually...those cars are pretty busted I don't think they're in any shape to drive." Cisco said, ofcourse he had to ruin it.
"Are you kidding me?" Geleel questioned irately as he crowd began shouting in outrage.
"Boooo!" Frostee booed Cisco as he kicked a can at his head.
"I hate you." Was all Echo said dryly.
"What? It's the truth, don't shoot the messenger!" Cisco shouted as Geleel sighed, there goes that idea.
In an unfortunate turn of events, Shashi would actually be the one to come to their rescue.
"Let's take thie to the after party!" He shouted, fortunately this meant he was taking then with him.
"Woah, I guess it did work out." Echo said with a shrug as they prepared for the party.
After Party
Echo was using the ramp they had set up for skating, Frostee was nerding out with Shashi's lead nerd, and Cisco, ofcourse was eating.
Geleel sat behind Tony as they both sat across from Shashi who had Layla sitting behind him.
They had described their crewmates and themselves to Shashi.
"This party's awesome!" Tony shouted as he took it all in, the music and the lights were great.
"What's their deal?" Geleel questioned as he gestured to his right where all the injured guys from the race were glaring at Tony and Layla.
"Oh hey! I know those guys!" Tony quipped.
"Forget them, so...you guys heard about SH1FT3R and thought, oh yea we could do that, and just stole a car and busted in?" Shashi questioned the two boys.
"It's like I always say, go big or go home, right G?" Tony questioned Geleel as he nudged him.
"Mhm, always..." Geleel agreed, Tony had never said that a day in his life.
"Yes! I like it Tony! Go big or go home! And now that you made it inside, you survived the race." Shashi began.
"Um, won the race." Tony corrected.
"You keep saying that and I'll smack you so hard your grandma's dentures'll fall out." Layla warned him.
"This bitch is a sore loser." Geleel whispered into Tony's ear as the young Toretto nodded in agreement.
"What was that?" Layla questioned as she stood up angrily and Geleel pretended not to know anything.
"Hey Lay, settle down, as you can see Tony, we're all pretty competitive here...so let's just say you tied." Shashi began.
"So what's next? What's your angle here?" He questioned Tony.
"Aye, I'm just lookin to drive fast, have fun, make money." Tony said with a sly tone as Geleel arched a brow at his best friend.
'Who the hell is he feeling like?' The dreadhead mentally questioned.
"That's what we're all about man! Getting that hustle on! That's why you're here Tony, you didn't wait for someone to give it to you, you went out and got it, you have the fire inside of you!" Shashi praised Tony who smirked.
Geleel rolled his eyes, seriously? This guy was the epitome of a goofy.
*cough* "Dicksucker!" *cough* They all turned to Geleel who was feigning a few dry coughs.
"Excuse me?" Shashi questioned him.
"Sorry, I just got choked my own spit." He said with a shrug.
"Right...anyways, follow us." Shashi said as he stood alongside Layla and began walking towards the rails.
Geleel and Tony got up to follow them.
"Hey man, what was that about?" Tony questioned Geleel.
"What? He was being a dicksucker I couldn't help it." Geleel whispered with a shrug.
"You know one thing I learned boys..." Shashi began as the two boys joined him and Layla.
"Good drivers are a dime a dozen...but good people are worth their weight in gold...once you make your way into SH1FT3R, the world is yours." Shashi explained as he gestured to the entire city.
His tone completely shifts as he forces the two boys to look at him.
"But if you try to cross us, you try to think you can play us, then like that, that dream turns into a nightmare." Shashi said gravely before turning and walking away.
"Hope you boys are prepared for that mission tomorrow, let's see if what happened earlier was a fluke or pure skill." Layla said as she walked away from them.
"I hate that Barbie dolled hillbilly." Geleel said to Tony.
"You're not alone brother." Tony said as they both frowned at her back.
The Next Day
The team all drove through the rocky terrain that was leading them towards the Mexican border.
Tony as usual led them with his dodge charger.
Geleel was right behind him in his camaro as Echo sat in the passenger seat.
Frostee and Cisco as usual rode in the baja behind the group.
The mission was for them to stop a big rig full of Yoka spirit water from getting to the Mexican border.
Due to it being a highstakes bet that Shashi designed for the guys driving the rig, they'd most definitely have security with them to prevent anyone from interfering with their plans.
Even though Geleel thought this was the dumbest way to get accepted into a group of criminals, he wasn't complaining about a chance to finally get behind the wheel and pull off ANY sort of mission.
"How we lookin Frostee?" Tony asked over the comms.
"We're almost to the big rig, Shashi said if we catch em we get to keep the Yoka right?" Frostee questioned Tony.
"Frostee, can you please focus." Echo joined in on the convo.
"I am focused! On my favorite drink!" Frostee shouted back.
"Oh man." Echo said to herself in annoyance.
"We've got 10 miles to get to that truck, let's lock in guys." Geleel said as they continued driving.
A little bit later the big rig and the bodyguard cars finally came into view.
"Alright! Here we go." Tony said to his team.
"Are you sure about this?" Echo questioned Tony over the comm system.
"Yes I'm sure, when have any of my ideas not worked perfectly?" Tony questioned the group.
"I don't think you really want an answer to that." Geleel responded as Tony rolled his eyes.
"Okay I get it damn guys, how we lookin up there Mrs. Nowhere?" Tony questioned as one of Nowwhere's drones flew above them.
Her face appeared on all of their screens.
"For the record I don't like this op, I don't like that you went behind my back and I don't like that I'm stuck here with Gary." Nowhere complained.
"You know that's a lot of things that you don't like, you should try thinking of things you do like, it's not good for someone your age to stress like this." Geleel said as Nowhere gawked at him.
"Ah ofcourse this is Roman Pearce's nephew, I believe this our first time seeing eachother under these circumstances Mr. Barlett." Nowhere said to Geleel.
"Amazing I know, thanks for the spy gear by the way." Geleel said as he looked at the black duffel bag in Echo's hands.
"Yea whatever, just get the job done already." Nowhere said in annoyance.
"Yea...maybe I'll put yo old ass in a nursing home when I'm done." Geleel muttered to himself.
"What? What did you just say?" Nowhere questioned him.
"Oh! Um, nothing nothing." Geleel said shakily.
"Uhuh, thought so." Nowhere said before she cut the communication link.
"Alright guys, let's do this for real, if we pull this off we're in." Tony said as they all cheered.
"Launch the drones Frostee!" He shouted.
Frostee does just that as two drones launch and then latch on to the big rig to give the mirrors an illusion that nothing was behind them.
"And we're clear, they'll never see us coming up right behind them." Frostee said with a smirk.
"Great, now it's time to put this spy gear to use." Geleel said as grabbed the duffel and climbed out out of the moving car through the window.
Echo grabs the wheel to keep the camaro steady as Geleel gets to the roof and she now sat in the driver's seat.
"Hey! How come you get to do the fun part?" Tony questioned Geleel.
"Uh hello? You had all the fun yesterday with that race! It's my turn now, get me in close Echo." Geleel said as Echo shifted gears and sped up towards the truck.
As she got closer to the truck Geleel brandished the magnetized gauntlets as he prepared to leap and stick on to the truck.
When the dreadhead was close enough he leaped forward, and with the use of the gauntlets was easily able to stick on to the truck.
"Woah, okay, that was awesome." He said to himself as he smiled at the others who were still driving behind him.
He then climbed to the top of the trailer as he prepared to launch the plan into fruition.
Unfortunately, the truck drives over some rubble causing it to jostle a bit and make him stumble.
This inadvertently makes Frostee's drones malfunction as the truck drivers noticed the crew was following them.
Geleel however was only made aware of this when he noticed the two black cars that were in front of the big rig fall back to stop his crew.
"Well that didn't take long, alright fam time to improvise." Echo said as she sped up the camaro.
Geleel turns away from the black cars and his crew as he heard heavy footsteps approaching him.
He looked up to see a very heavy set man with blond hair smirking at him.
"Well damn Brock Lesnar, didn't expect to find you here." Geleel said as he unzipped the duffel bag.
"Very funny." The man said as he menacingly moved towards Geleel.
Geleel then pulled out the electric glove as he puts it on his right hand and powers it on.
He slung the bag over his shoulder as he stood and smirked at the man.
"What is that?" The man questioned in confusion.
"You'll see." Geleel said as they both stalked towards eachother carefully.
Unfortunately before they could reach eachother the truck jostled once more causing Geleel to stumble back and fall.
The glove falls off his hand in the process as well.
"Shit." He said to himself as he watched it hit the rocky desert floor below the truck.
"Welp, looks like we doin this man to man." Geleel said as he got up and ran towards the blond muscle head.
Geleel swung at the man as his fist connected with his face.
The muscle head turned his head back to Geleel as the former cracked his neck menacingly.
"Damn bruh...what you be eatin?" Geleel questioned him as the man swung at him.
Geleel ducked under the punch as he throws one of his own.
The man easily catches his fist and began crushing Geleel's hand which elicited a grunt of pain from the latter.
He then kicks Geleel swiftly in the chest as the boy falls off the edge of the truck, fortunately he grabs on to the ledge and was able to get a grip and hold on.
"Damn it! Guys! A little help here!" He shouted as the man slowly approached him with a smirk.
"Oh no! I'm coming G!" Echo shouted as one of the black cars slams into the camaro causing her to almost drive out of control.
"No!" She shouted, she had to get to Geleel before he fell to his death.
Then out of nowhere Tony slams into the car that was ramming Echo as he smiled at her.
"Go save Geleel! We got these guys!" Tony shouted as Echo nodded and sped up alongside the truck.
When she got there the man had stomped on Geleel's hand causing him to fall onto his own hood, which he didn't expect to be there.
"Woah, thought I was dead for sure this time, thanks MarMar." Geleel said as they shared a smile through the windshield.
"Call me that again and I'm gonna be the one to kill you myself." She threatened him as she still drove with him on the hood.
"Still having fun G?" Tony questioned him over the comms.
"Whatever Toretto, now let's end this." Geleel said as he brandished the gaunlets again and began scaling the truck.
As he got to the top he didn't climb all the way up as he saw the man was still there staring at him irately.
"Man, you guys just don't quit huh?" He questioned as Geleel smirked at him.
"Nope." Was all the dreadhead said as he shot a grappling hook through the man's legs.
"Ha! You missed!" He shouted as Geleel's smile only grew.
"Did I though?" Geleel questioned as he swung from the line onto the other end of the truck, this caused the line to trip the man and send him flying off the top of the truck.
Geleel stood at the top of the truck with a smirk as he pulled the line back into the shooter on his wrist.
"Man I love this thing, hope your ready for this Cisco." He said into his comm as he jumped into the area that connected the truck to the trailer.
He then placed the small circular bomb under the trailer.
"Alright C, it's boom boom time!" Geleel shouted as he lept onto the trailer with the magnet guanlets and stuck on to them.
The bomb then detonates as the trailer is separated from the truck.
As the explosion caused the trailer to float in air a bit Cisco drove up in front of it as he lined his truck up with it.
The trailer comes back down as it connects to Cisco's truck and Geleel swiftly climbs to the top of the trailer.
"Woohoo! Way to go G!" Echo shouted as she was still driving his car.
He smiled at her then at Tony who was driving beside her.
The crew then make a turn as they began driving back to their base.
"That was nice, even though that dude kicked your ass." Tony pointed out.
"Come on bruh, I wanna see you come up here and try to fight blondzilla then tell me how easy it is." Geleel said as he deadpanned.
"Mission accomplished team!" Cisco shouted.
"And the Yoka is secureddd!" Frostee cheered, that was the highlight of this mission for him.
L.A.
The group was parked in the lot that was behind their base as they took in their victory.
"That was some nice driving out there Echo, you almost drove my camaro better than me." Geleel said with a smirk as Echo playfully rolled her eyes.
"Yea, yea, considering I saved your life I'd say I drove it better." She reminded him as they walked over to Frostee and Cisco who had began opening the trailer.
When the trailer opened...Frostee had basically seen heaven itself before him.
"The motherload..." He drooled over the endless cans of Yoka.
Geleel shook his head before he turned and noticed Tony sitting on the hood of his car moping.
"What's wrong T?" Geleel questioned as he made his way over to his best friend.
"Nothing...it's just, I realized we put ourselves undercover with a bunch of criminals, and if they find out, our lives are on the line, I don't know this is getting kind of crazy." Tony said as Geleel frowned at this.
"We just dislodged a trailer going 70 mph, trust me, it can't get any much crazier from there." Cisco said as the others walked up them.
"Yea T, I was literally dangling off of a truck during a highspeed chase, it's safe to safe to say the only way from now on is forward." Geleel said as he hugged Tony with one arm.
"Yup, not to mention I saved Geleel twice." Echo boasted whilst nudging Geleel's shoulder as everyone chuckled, even Tony who was now cheered up.
"Never gonna let me live that down huh?" Geleel questioned Echo.
"Nope." She said curtly as Frostee handed them all some Yoka water.
"We're awesome when we stick together!" He shouted as they all clinked their cans and began drinking.
"Team, I don't like how you did it, but I like that you did do it, congratulations on a job...done." Mrs. Nowhere said as she walked up to them.
"That was a real rollercoaster ride of a compliment." Cisco said with an arched brow.
"I'm not even sure if it was a compliment." Geleel said with a headshake.
"I gotta admit, I kinda like this spy stuff, it's as if I was made to secretly mess with other people." Echo said darkly.
"That's because you are." Frostee said as Geleel snickered.
"Ahem! I don't wanna be caught with our pants down or our hands in the cookie jar or whatever the saying is, Gary, give everyone their binder." Nowhere stated as the large man gave them all their portfolios.
"I'm putting you all in a 12 week beginning spy course, if you check your syllabi-" Echo cuts Nowhere off.
"Hold up Nowhere! Seems like we're doing an awful lot for you! What's in it for us?" Echo questioned as Geleel puts an arm on her shoulder.
"Yea facts MarMar, I ag-ack!" Geleel exclaimed as Echo grabbed his fingers and bent them back.
"Ow! Ow! Okay! Okay I'll stop!" He shouted as she let his hand go.
"Right anyways...what is it that you kids want?" Nowhere questioned them.
"Well for one..." Frostee began as he gestured to the base.
"How about we fix this junk up a little? Looks like an abandoned rat food factory." He complained.
"Fine, I suppose Uncle Sam can splurge on an inspirational cat calendar today." Nowhere began as she handed Frostee her credit card.
"But you guys have to promise you'll only buy the essentials." Nowhere warned them.
"Oh we promise alright." Geleel stated with a smirk.
3 weeks later
The teens had completely redesigned the base, there was now an electric bull, a skating ramp, a basketball court, an arcade, a food bar, a boxing ring, and a tech station, you know, the essentials.
"Now this is more like it!" Frostee shouted as everyone was chilling around the base enjoying their different activities.
They all stopped when they noticed Layla coming through the garage door.
Geleel walked over to her and Tony, who had approached her, with his basketball still in hand.
"Hey Layla." Tony greeted as she shook his hand.
"Sup hillbarbie, drop by just to see us?" Geleel questioned Layla as he spun the ball on his finger.
"You wish, I'm just here to check this place out, oh, nice moves out there by the way, guess you're not just a bigmouth with no skills after all." She said with a shrug.
"What made you think that in the first place?" Geleel questioned her with a shrug.
"Just a hunch." Layla replied with a chuckle as she walked off to get a drink from the food station.
"Enough chitchat! Let's get this party started!" Echo shouted as she walked up to the DJ booth and began playing, 'El Gordo Trae El Mando' by Chino Pacas.
Well, the crew didn't know what they were supposed to do exactly as a part of a criminal organization, but one thing was for certain, they had to be more careful now, this was deeper than petty streetraces, their lives and safety were at stake here.
For now, all they had to do was enjoy their new and improved base, as they all knew it was best to enjoy the little things in life while they lasted.
