In the early 1900's golf was a sport that was dominated by not only men but the upper class. It's a world whose walls are practically impenetrable to the working class. But, in the year 1913 during the renowned U.S. Open, one person seeks to change all that. To break the barriers that prevent others from fulfilling their dreams. Her name is Frances Ouimet. *Based on 2005 film*

A Woman's Game Chapter 8

1913:

Francis is living a dream come true. She alone is making history having been the first woman to compete in the 1912 National Amateurs Championship. Francis didn't win, but she still left her mark finishing as one of the top ten.

Mr. Campbell, Mr. Hastings, and her mother were very proud of what she has accomplished here through this. As was Francis herself.

The only person who didn't seem to be all too happy about her achievement, besides the disagreeable members of the Country Club that stood in her way, was her father.

Arthur Ouimet refused to even acknowledge what his daughter had done. He still firmly believes that she doesn't belong in that world nor will it fully accept her into the fold.

To ease the growing tension in the household Francis sought to get work where she could find it. She no longer had her old position as a caddie at the Country Club to pursue a career as an Amateur. Francis soon found a position as a clerk at a sporting goods shop that was right in Boston. The hours are good and it pays well so it might temper his disdain at her love of gold as she continues to add to the household and save for college.

It's always been his motto to work hard and bring home the money.

By all accounts, she's still doing it.

This is where things get really interesting for our leading lady.

Her life's about to change big time.

I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.

So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.
