I don't own House of Dragons.

Chapter 1

In the mountains, where shepherds and farmers would tend the sheep to their Lord Rosby's lands.

One particular day, change the childless Shepherd and his wife.

On the open road in the dead of night, they heard a cry.

"Waaah! Waaah!"

Amphitryon, the shepherd, and his wife, Alcmene, have Dornish roots since they are fourth generation and born in Westeros.

Amphitryon shouted out as he lifted the fire torch to see. "Who's there?"

Alcmene gasped and quickly went to the infant child. "Oh, you poor thing! Oh, don't cry." She rocked the child to calm her down.

Amphitryon spoke again. "Is anybody there?" He looked around to see if there was someone there. But the mountain hills are far too steep for anyone to travel here.

Amphitryon waited but already he could tell. "Someone must have her here." Who could do such a thing?

He could understand that commoners couldn't afford to feed more mouths since they might be dirt poor or have a hard time finding work.

Alcmene smiled gently at the baby girl. "Amphitryon, for so many years we've prayed to the gods to bless us with a child."

Amphitryon looked and tried to see if there was at least one name or something. But judging by the fabric of the blanket wrapped around looked like a nobleman.

He sighed with pity. Perhaps, someone's wife or daughter got themselves with a child out of wedlock.

Though, seeing the little Dornish girl with his very eyes made him smile softly. Perhaps, this was Gods gift for them.

"I think a name should suit her."

Alcmene questioned him, "We did talk about it but are you sure?"

Her husband nodded yes.

Amphitryon named his new daughter, "Kassandra."

Their new daughter slept away her dreams as if she knew that she was in safer hands with them.
