The continent of darkness was as empty and dreary as ever. That is, until a dimensional portal opened and out came the digi-destined Takuya and the four redeemed warriors.
"Back in digital world once more," Grumblemon stated.
"Eh, no's place like home, right?" Arbormon added.
Takuya wasted no time and pulled out his D-tector, "Hello, Koji come in," he said as he tried to call on the device, but to no avail, "Koji, Zoe, anyone, ger, why's this thing not working?".
"Well I'ms just spit balling here, but perhaps our recent traveling may have eh, confused the reception or something, right?" Arbormon suggested.
"Wait, then how are we going to find the others now sugar?" Ranamon asked.
"Guess, we'll just have to look the hard way?" Takuya said.
"Tis likely to be a most harrowing journey," Reflectmon pointed out, "Perhaps it be'ith best to return my spirits to me?".
"Now hold on Reflectmon," Takuya replied, "Before I give you back your spirits, I want to get to know you a bit more first, make sure I can trust you and stuff,".
"What kind of daft reasoning be that?!" Reflectmon shouted, very annoyed.
"Hahahahha, it only fair Reflectmon, haha!" Grumblemon laughed.
"Hmph, tis matter not," Reflectmon grumbled, before sounding charming, "At least I can still be with such a fair one as Ranamon," he then offered a hand to her.
However, Ranamon seemed hesitant and walked back.
"M'lady?" Reflectmon asked, "Tis something troubling thou?".
"N-no?" she replied, seeming hesitant, "It's, nothing,".
Reflectmon didn't reply. He just looked away, figuring it best not upset the water warrior. Though this did worry him a bit.
But the heroes then heard something. Something that was breathing heavily and dragging something sharp across the ground.
"Aw no, not him, right?" Arbormon nervously said.
But it was, to the horror of the group, it was the warrior of darkness himself, Duskmon.
"Duskmon, what's he doing here?" Ranamon said with worry, while Grumblemon just growled.
"Doesn't matter, you can't scare us anymore you freak!" Takuya said bravely.
"R-right!" Arbormon added, not as bravely though.
However, Duskmon just stood there, staring down with his eyes looking dark.
"Huh, you know hear us, we no afraid Dusk-dork!" Grumblemon taunted but got no reply.
"Wait, look'ith closer?" Reflectmon said, having noticed something off.
Parts of the dark warrior's body seemed to be glitching, as if they were bugged. A notably area of this glitching, was on his chest resembling a cut of some sorts.
"Hey, what's up with him, right?" Arbormon asked.
"He's all, well, whatever that is?" Ranamon added.
"My, kingdom," Duskmon muttered as his eyes slowly turned, "Ko-ji?".
This left the heroes confused, but they were not going to have time to react.
"Raaaaaaggghhhh!" Duskmon roared, "Get out, raaaaahhhh!".
Dark energy then exploded from the demonic Digimon, forcing back all the others.
"Aaaaahhhhh!" they screamed.
A few moments later,
Reflectmon slowly opened his eyes,
"Hmm, curse that blaggard Duskmon!" he growled as he struggled to get up. However, he soon found that his fellow Digimon were nowhere in sight, "Huh, Grumblemon, Arbormon Ranamon?!" he shouted nervously, "Answer me, where arth thou!".
But there was no answer, other than the sound of a human groaning.
"Augh, why's he always getting the drop on me!?" Takuya groaned as he got up, before looking around, "Where'd everyone go?".
"Hmph, obviously thy fellow warriors were separated when the warrior of darkness struck," Reflectmon explained, sounding somewhat annoyed.
"Not again?" Takuya moaned, "It was bad enough when you did it to us,".
"Bite thy tongue!" Reflectmon snapped.
"Sorry," Takuya apologized, "Let's just get going,".
In a matter of moments, Takuya and Reflcetmon were now walking through the dark continent. Trying to find the warrior of light, as well as any of the others.
"Where could they be?" Takuya groaned, still anxious.
"Does thou still not have a plan to find thy warrior of light?" Reflectmon asked, "As well as the others?".
"Try to find them before Duskmon can," Takuya answered bluntly.
"That's it?" Reflectmon replied, rather baffled, "Tis such a simple mindset shall never work in locating the other warriors!".
"Look, I can't contact him on my D-tector, so this is all we can do," Takuya groaned, getting annoyed, "Besides, I don't see you coming up with anything,".
"Forth seuth, I could easily devise a far more effective plan than thou," Reflectmon bragged, "But tis only possible if thou were to relinquish my spirit, instead of this pointless trust malarkey?".
"I don't see how that would make a differance Reflectmon?" Takuya replied, "Honestly I can't even tell what your saying half the time?".
"How dare thy make fun of my dialect!" Reflectmon snapped, stopping to rant, "Tis not like thou is easy to decipher ether?".
"Gerr, look this arguing isn't helping," Takuya said after stopping, "If we're going to do this, your gonna have to trust me, okay?".
"Hmph, if thou say'th so," Reflectmon grumbled with a pinch of sarcasm, "Still, thou shalt tread carefully," Reflectmon warned, much to Takuya's annoyance.
"Look I'll tread however I feel liii-," he replied, before stumbling into a small ditch.
"I warned thy," Reflectmon taunted with a chuckle, which Takuya groaned at.
Meanwhile with the other redeemed warriors,
The trio of legendary warriors were able to recover and had been walking through the dark continent, hoping to find their human friends. Of course, they were still their friends, right?
"Ger, where fore them kids be?" Grumblemon grumbled, "Finding easier back when, then,".
The earth warrior fell silent, which the wood warrior noticed.
"You okay Grumble?" Arbormon asked.
"Huh, yeah!" he lied, "You okay!?".
"Well, uh, sure, right?" Arbormon replied, trying to hide something.
"Oh honestly!" Ranamon said, annoyed by their hesitancy, "Just admit it, you're still thrown off by what Scutlemon said?!".
The two groaned, knowing she was right.
"Yeah, so what?" Grumblemon ranted, "Like you feel different Ranamon!?".
"Eh, well, n-no?" she replied nervously, "I mean, why would something like being told 'you weren't supposed to be brought back to life' throw me off sugar?".
The three then sighed. Even though Takuya's speech did give them hope, the fact that their destinies were once one of destruction and being forgotten still haunted them a good bit.
"Ger, why for that Ben even do this?" Grumblemon said in frustration.
Ranamon sighed as she looked at herself in the nearby pound, "I hate to agree with you sugar, but you have a good point," she sighed as she stared at her sadden face, "If we were meant to just be tossed aside, why'd that weird boy even bring us back?".
"Alright, alright, we's all feelin the same thing, right," Arbormon said, trying to be positive, "But looks, it's already happened so let's just forgetabout it,".
This eased the other two abit. They then looked at each other and nodded.
"Besides we need find friends before Duskmon can," Grumblemon said, "Especially Reflectmon,".
"Reflectmon, right," Ranamon sighed as she looked away.
The other two could tell that there was a bit of tension between the water and steel warriors, but they figured it best not say anything just yet.
"Hey, look on dah bright side, at least we alls gots our beast spirits now, right?" Arbormon pointed out, trying to lighten the mode.
"Yeah, that very good!" Grumblemon said, feeling a bit more upbeat, before looking at Ranamon "You can be Calmaramon again, but as hero, very exciting,".
"Huh, oh, urm, sure s-sugar?" Ranamon stuttered, seeming worried about something different, "Though, maybe not so soon, no need to frighten anyone?".
The other noted her hesitant, though figured it was nothing to worry about.
But suddenly there was a large splash in the water. Which soon doused the Digimon humorously.
"Blurublu, hey!" Grumblemon yelled.
"What's the big idea!?" Ranamon shouted.
"Right?" Arbormon added.
Upon closer inspection, the splash was made by a giant bowl made of ice?
"Huh, what that be there?" Grumblemon asked.
"Hang on a sec, right?" Arbormon said, just before a certain warrior of thunder flew down.
"Beetlemon!" they shouted, surprised to see a friend.
"Huh, hey is that you guys?" he asked once he noticed the former evil warriors.
"JP whats taking so long?" Zoe's voice asked.
"Zoe is that you sugar!?" Ranamon asked.
"Heys yous there too Tommy?" Arbormon shouted.
"Arbormon!?" a voice replied.
The digimon then looked across the lake and saw their three human friends, all be it in Digimon form. However, well it gave them joy to see their friends once more, they also felt a bit of dread. They were really friends, right?
A few moments later,
The digimon warriors had soon regrouped with their human friends on the other side of the lake.
"So how did things go with Reflectmon?" Tommy asked.
"Eh, pretty good if more or less, right" Arbormon replied.
"We beat Deamon out of friend no problem!" Grumblemon added, "Reflectmon good as new,".
"Wow, you must feel so relieved Ranamon," Zoe happily said, before noticing the lack of someone, "Hey, where is he?"
"Oh, well, you see we got separated by Duskmon," Ranamon replied nervously, "But he's probably safe with Takuya,".
"So have you had any luck with that other kid?" Arbormon asked.
"No, unfortunately," JP said sadly, before looking back, "All we found was this Trailmon graveyard,".
The three Digimon looked to see the many broken Trailmon parts of different types.
"That Trailmon graveyard alright," Grumblemon stated, "So much scrap,".
"Excuse me, who are you schnitzels calling scrap!" a sweetish voice shouted, which startled Grumblemon.
"Ahhh, huh?!".
"Oh yeah, we did find this Trailmon Angler here," Tommy explained, "He's actually still alive,".
"But it doesn't look like he has much time left," Zoe explained, "So we were trying to help him feel good before, well," she couldn't bear to finish.
"Awww, that's so sad sugar," Ranamon said, nearly tearing up, "There's gotta be something I can do to help the poor deary,".
"Well we were about to give him a bath with the water-," Tommy explained, before the water warrior interrupted.
"Say no more!" Ranamon said as she held out her hand, "I'm just the gal for the job," she then ran to where the Trailmon Angler was, with the humans soon following.
However, the warriors of earth and wood just looked at each other.
"Think should tell them?" Grumblemon asked, sounding unamused.
"Nah, they'll figure it out in a bit, right," Arbormon said, before walking forward, "Like I always say, ignorance is bliss,".
"Yeah, you know that well," Grumblemon joked under his breath, before following.
Back with the other two,
Takuya and Reflectmon were still trying to find Koji, sadly their attitude had not gotten much better.
"Hey, guys!" Takuya shouted, "Koji, Zoe, Grumblemon, anybody!".
Reflectmon however, was feeling most unpleasant.
"Tis getting us no closer to thy others," he complained, "How thou was able to best me, I shall never know?".
"Hey, I'm doing the best I can," Takuya retorted, getting rather annoyed.
"Thou can'ts even be prepared for Duskmon?!" Reflectmon ranted, "Not that thou could ever face the warrior of darkness in the first place, not with thou's current simple mindedness,".
"What is your problem Reflectmon?!" Takuya asked as he turned around, having been angered by the Duskmon remark, for obvious reasons.
"Tis problem be your foolishness and lack of skill and intelligence!" Reflectmon snapped.
"Really, sounds to me like you're just sour that I beat you so badly!" Takuya taunted, having had it with the steel child's complaining.
"Gerrr, tis only because of thy foolish comrades that thou claimed victory!" Reflectmon retorted, still irritated.
"You know some of those 'foolish comrades' were your friends too!" Takuya said, the two getting up in each others face, "Which you sure didn't seem to have any problem turning on!".
"Oh, that is a low blow, thy scum," Reflectmon replied.
"Not as low as what you did to Ranamon, no wonder she didn't want to be around you!" Takuya snapped, which broke any semblance of patience the steel child had, "Maybe if you actually thought of them instead of your stupid plans, you wouldn't have your friends so scared of you!"
"Argh, I do not have to put up with thy nonsensical foolery!" Reflectmon yelled, before summoning a mirror card portal, "Farewell thy fool!" he taunted as he lept through the mirror before it disappeared.
"Gerr, fine, who needs you anyways!" Takuya yelled, before storming off.
However, after a few minutes, he then let out a sigh, "Ugh, no," he then started running back, "Reflectmon wait!".
Meanwhile with the steel child,
Reflectmon walked through the bleak land, still annoyed by what happened with Takuya.
"Retread child, who does he think he is to command'ith me?" Reflectmon grumbled, "As if I am unable to comprehend trust?!" However, he then remembered what the boy had said regarding what went down with the water warrior. "Then again, the way sweet Ranamon showed hesitance to me?" He then thought back to the Sephirothmon incident and just how Ranamon felt after that afterwards. Reflectmon then shook his head, "Bah, does not mean the boy is right about me!".
But then, something caught Reflectmon's eye. In his mirrors showed a human in blue clothes laying down against what was left of a mountain.
"Praytell?" Reflectmon thought, "Do I know'ith this human?".
He then approached the unconscious boy and hunched down for a closer look. "Wait, tis this be thy warrior of light?".
Suddenly the boy awoke, "Duskmon!" he gasped.
"Gahh!" Reflectmon said as he jumped back, drawing his rapier upon reflex.
The human then slowly got up, seeming to have been through a tough fight prior. He then noticed the metallic Digimon and flinched at the sight of the weapon.
"Hmph, pardon me," Reflectmon said with disinterest, as he put away his weapon, "I presume that thou be'ith Koji, warrior of light,".
"Yeah, who's asking?" Koji asked with suspicion while leaning on the mountain wall. However, as he observed the metal Digimon's details he soon realized, "Wait, Mercurymon?!".
"Hmph, perhaps at one point, but no longer," the steel child explained, "For now, I be'ith Reflectmon,".
Koji felt a little cautious at first, but soon cracked a smile, "Guess the others finally beat you?".
"Grr, well, thou arth perceptive," Reflectmon groaned, looking away with shame, "I was indeed bested and purified by thy companion Takuya,".
"Hmph, serves you right," Koji teased.
"Bah," Reflectmon groaned.
"Though, if you're really purified, how come you're alone out here?" Koji asked.
"Tis because thou human Takuya be'ith a pig headed nenie!" Reflectmon explained, "Honestly, how can thou even follow such a fool?".
"Heh, yeah, he's a pretty big idiot sometimes," Koji replied, much to Reflectmon's surprise, "But despite that, he cares a lot about others, more than he does for himself sometimes,".
"Praytell, I'm not sure I follow thou's logic?" Reflectmon said, feeling confused.
"Yeah, neither did I," Koji answered, after standing up and started to walk away, "That's just how he is,".
"Eh, where arth thou going?" Reflectmon asked, "Is thou not injured?"
"I have to find Duskmon and show him the light," he explained, "I don't know why, but there's something about him, that-?".
It didn't take long for Reflectmon to figure out what their connection was, "Koji, wait'ith,".
"Don't try to stop me," Koji said as he pulled out his D-tector.
Both of the spirits of light glowed as the boy was covered in fractal code. The spirits each gave pices of themselves as Koji gained a new form. The fractal code then exploded away, revealing a new humanoid wolf themed warrior who jumped onto the pedestal before slashing with his double sword and let loose missiles with his other arm, before proclaiming himself, "BeoWolfmon!".
Beowolfmon then leaped away, resuming his hunt for the warrior of darkness.
"Hmph, how naïve," Reflectmon thought, "Yet thou's determination is to be admired?".
Having gotten sick of the area, he then summoned a mirror card and teleported away.
Back with the other legendary warriors,
Within a few moments, Ranamon had used her draining rain to soak the Trailmon Angler with water, while the humans and Digimon had started scrubbing the train with large brushes.
"Feeling better now sugar?" the water warrior asked.
"Oun yah, it very nice," Trailmon Angler said with a smile.
"This really necessary?" Grumblemon ground well holding a brush.
"Yeah, but we'll be going soon," JP said as they scrubbed, "But hey, at least we're doing it together,".
Grumblemon then looked at the boy and felt a bit of sadness as he remembered what had happened before.
"Hey you okay?" JP asked.
The earth warrior just looked away and continued scrubbing.
Meanwhile, Tommy was struggling to climb up the rusty train. "Uh, uh, oh?" he then looked towards the wood robot, "Hey Arbormon, could you help me up?".
The wood warrior seemed to be lost in thought, as if he was dwelling on something troubling.
"Arbormon?" Tommy said again.
"Huh, what?" he replied, "Yah need something?".
"Uh yeah, could you help me up?" Tommy asked, a bit concerned.
"Huh, uh sure, right?" Arbormon nodded, before walking up and helping the small boy up.
"Thanks," Tommy cheered from atop the train as he began to scrub, "We'll be done in no time at this rate,".
Trailmon Kettle just grinned with his broken teeth, making happy sweetish noises..
"Just bit more, then warriors really need get going," Grumblemon said, feeling a little annoyed.
"I hope Takuya's okay," Zoe said, with a bit of worry.
"Takuya we'll be fine," Tommy said, "He's got his fusion form now, so he can protect himself and Reflectmon,".
The mention of the steel child caused Ranamon flinch, which made her draining rain spill onto the others.
"Blurb, hey!" JP said.
This startled Tommy and caused him to drop his bucket of water, which then smacked Trailmon Angler.
"Ohkay, dis I could do without," he groaned, to which the kids laughed at.
"Watch it Ranamon!" Grumblemon scolded, not feeling as pleasant as the others.
"Oh uh, sorry sugar," she apologized, sounding sheepish.
The others brushed this off quickly. However, Zoe felt a little more concerned.
"Is everything okay Ranamon?" she asked.
"Huh, of, of course Zo, why wouldn't it be?" she replied, rather nervous.
"Well, you just seemed a bit, distracted when Tommy mentioned Reflectmon?" Zoe pointed out.
"Oh look, I think I missed a spot," Ranamon said, then ran around to the other side of the Trailmon.
Zoe was getting rather worried for the water warrior, so she followed.
"Aren't you happy he's okay?" she asked, trying to be gentle.
"Well, yes, it's just," Ranamon said before pausing, before soon coming clean "I just don't know how to trust him anymore?".
"Huh, but he's been purified," Zoe said, surprised at the water warrior's doubt.
"I know, I know, it's just," Ranamon said, still hesitant as she walked near the lake, "After what happened before, when he tricked me and then when he became Sephirothmon, ohh, It just doesn't feel the same anymore!?" as she looked at the water, the image of Mercurymon went through her mind, "I wish things could be like before, but how can I trust him again?".
Zoe was quiet for a bit, "Maybe you just need to give him a chance?" she suggested, "After all when we gave you and the other evil warriors a chance, we ended up becoming friends,".
"Yeah, friends," Ranamon said, rembering something else that haunted her.
"Come on, just think about what you did when you became Calmaramon?" Zoe pointed, which made the water warrior flinch, "Were not still mad at you about anymore,".
"Well yes, I suppose that is true sugar?" Ranamon replied, still unsure, "Not that I'd blame you fro being mad about the beast,".
This last bit confused Zoe a bit. However she able to dwell on it for the water in the lake began to rumble.
"Huh, whats going on now?!" Ranamon moaned.
Suddenly what looked like a white aquatic dinosaur Digimon emerged and let out a roar, "Well well well, seems I've found you once again!" the Digimon said, "And this time there's even more spirits for the taking, hahah!".
"Plesiomon!" Grumblemon and Arbormon shouted.
"You know this guy?" JP asked, to which Grumblemon nodded.
"Yeah, him Plesiomon that attack Arbormon well you stuck in steel beast!" he explained.
"Right, he said he was to trying nab all dah spirits for some crana-something guy?" Arbormon added, "Something about a sousaphone of something?".
"Hah, shows what you know fools!" Plesiomon barked, "I've been going too easy, so now I brought the big guns!".
The water began to stir even more now.
"What happening?" Tommy asked, nearly slipping off the Trailmon Angler.
"Not know, but Grumblemon think them not Divermon this time?".
"Arise, Seadramons!" Plesiomon roared.
Then from the lake arose many blueish-green sea serpents with yellow masks and sharp teeth.
Seadramon, a dangerous sea animal Digimon that are even worse in hordes. Beware their constricting grip or you'll be the one sleeping with the fishes.
There were at least 6 of the Seadramon, as well as one Seadramon that seemed lost looking the wrong way. The other aquatic Digimon then looked at the Seadramon in confusion. Pleasiomon then whistled, which got the last one to realize where to look.
"Um, right?" Plesiomon mumbled, before shaking his head then looking serious, "Enough tomfoolery, attack forces of the sea!"
The Seadramon roared as they began their assault!
Back with the steel child,
After his encounter with Koji, Reflectmon was in deep thought. "A curious one that boy, Koji be'ith entirely different from Takuya, yet he be'ith able to trust him?" he pondered, "Hmm, trust?"
He also thought of what Takuya had said before "Maybe if you actually thought of them instead of your stupid plans, you wouldn't have your friends so scared of you!".
Reflectmon dwelled long about this. Guilt filled his code as he remembered how he discarded her. It especially hurt when he thought of how hesitant she acted around him.
"Perhaps thy human may have had a point?" he sighed as his mirrors shimmered, "Now as I reflect upon what I've done, I feel'ith sickened, even if I had been forgiven, thy sins of my arrogance still linger," he then pulled out a mirror card and looked at his reflection, "Even if I were to reclaim my spirit, could I ever truly face dear Ranamon?" he then sighed, "Am I a being even capable of trust?
Just then, the steel child heard something that alerted him.
"Who be'ith there!" Reflectmon said, after drawing his rapier.
Though he didn't see anyone at first, he soon heard the sound of a blade being dragged across the ground.
Meanwhile with Takuya,
"Koji, Reflectmon!" he shouted, hoping to find them, but had no luck, "Gerr, great job Takuya, not only can't you find Koji, but you went and scared off Reflectmon!".
Takuya was mostly frustrated with himself. Even though the steel child was giving him a lot of flack, he really should have tried to be more patient. After all, Reflectmon had taken the longest to purify and probably didn't understand how to be good as well as the others. This didn't excuse his behavior, but there wasn't much the human could do about that.
"I got to make this right," Takuya groaned. But suddenly, Takuya bumped into something invisible, "Oof, what the?".
"Oh, sorry," a familiar voice said, as the invisible thing showed itself.
"Scutlemon, what are you doing here?" Takuya asked, "I thought you were supposed to be looking for your boss?".
"We are, arf," Treblemon said from behind, startling the human a bit.
"Gahh!?".
"Sorry," the wolf apologized.
"So what are you doing all alone?" Scutlemon asked, "Shouldn't you be with the other warriors?".
"Yeah, I should," Takuya groaned, "But we had a little run in with a rather dark Digimon,".
"Duskmon, rarf," Treblemon sighed.
"He's going to be the hardest one of all to defeat and purify," Scutlemon stated.
"No kidding," Takuya said, thinking back to his first battle with the demonic Digimon.
"Yeah, especially after my big bro in-?" Treblemon blurted, before Scutlemon covered his mouth again.
"Would you please be quiet," he groaned.
This however, got the attention of the human.
"Wait, what happened Scutlemon?" Takuya asked, slightly annoyed.
"Well, um, you see when I became Viralmon and helped Grumblemon fight Duskmon?" Scutlemon explained, to which the gnome nodded, "When I sliced him with my viral impact, there's a small chance that I may have infected him with a virus?".
"What kind of virus?" Takuya asked, getting worried.
"Oh, nothing major," Scutlemon said, nervously, "It just, uh, hurts him for every evil thing he's ever done?".
"What!?".
"Look, it should be fine once you purify him okay?" Scutlemon explained.
"He might just be angrier than usual," Treblemon added.
Takuya then took off running.
"Was it something I said?" Treblemon asked.
"Oh dear," Scutlemon sighed.
Takuya ran as fast as he could. For he knew that no would be able to face the warrior of darkness in this frenzied state alone, so he had to move fast!
Back with the others,
Things had got rather intense for them with another attack from Plesiomon. The kids had spirit evolved and were fighting the horde of Seadramons alongside the former evil warriors.
"Thunder Fist!" Beetlemon roared as he charged at of the serpents.
"Blizzard Blaster!" Kumamon shouted as he fired his attack on them.
Kazemon then flew in and quickly kicked one of the Seadramon in the face. However, he didn't take too kindly to that and knocked the wind warrior aside with his head.
"Ow, why's this keep happening to me?!" she whined in pain.
"Herahah," Seadramon chuckled, until he noticed he was going up, "Herh?".
It then realized a water geyser was lifting him into the air.
"Don't you know how to treat a lady sugar?" Ranamon said while she manipulated the water, "Whipping Wave!".
She then made the geyser slam the Seadramon into the other serpents, knocking them down like dominos.
"Nice one Ranamon!" Grumblemon complimented, while fighting off the serpents with his hammer.
"Please, I am the warrior of water after sugar," she bragged, while one of Arbormon's seeds flew past her.
"Don't let up now, right!" the wood warrior said, "You should always give it your all, yah understand?".
The legendary warriors had beaten nearly back all the Seadramon with no trouble.
"No, we need to amp things up!" Plesiomon growled, "Quick somebody evolve to a MetalSeadramon!".
One of the Seadramon then popped up next to the dino, "But sir, we don't have the budget for a darkmaster?".
"What are you even talking about?!" Plesiomon shouted with confusion.
"Thunder Fist!" Beetlemon shouted as he punched the water, electrocuting the Digimon in it.
"Gadadadadadada!" the screamed.
"Gerr, do something guys!" Plesiomon commanded, after shaking off the sparks, "Bring out the MegaSeadramon!"
Three of the Seadrmon then dove underwater, then after a glow of fractal code, they emerged looking even bigger, with red scales, green hair, many more fins, and a sharp horn coming out of their mask.
"Thunder Javelin!" the MegaSeadramon then fired electric blasts from their horns at the heroes.
The beamed zapped back the legendary warriors, knocking them to into on of the scrap heaps, except Ranamon.
"Sorrow Blue!" Plessiomon then sang out his attack, causing the heroes to be buried in Trailmon scrap.
"Oh my!" Ranamon cried, as she looked back at her fallen friends, "You're going to get it now!" she growled at the sea Digimon, before raising up her hand, "Whipping wa-!"
But before she could attack, the Seadramon attacked, "Raaaahhh!".
Before the water warrior could react, one of the Seadramon grabbed like a snake.
"Gah hey, watch it you-!" She yelled, but then the Seadramon squeezed harder, "Oooww!"
"Ranamon!" the others cried.
"Don't you even think about it!" Plessiomon barked, "One step closer and we squeeze the spirit out of her!".
"You coward!" Beetlemon insulted.
"I told you I wasn't going to take it easy this time!" Plessiomon growled, "Now fork over your spririts or else!".
"Ahhhh!" the water warrior screamed as the grip tightened.
"Quick Ranamon, use beast spirit!" Grumblemon suggested, after getting partly out of the rubble.
"Um, no, I think I'm fine," Ranamon said lightly, while struggling against the sea serpent.
"Are you crazy?!" Beetlemon asked.
"Yous are not fine Ranamon, yah understand!?" Arbormon added.
"Whatever are you talking about sugar?" Ranamon nervously said.
"This isn't funny Ranamon!" Kumamon groaned.
This wasn't making any sense to the others. But Kazemon soon figured it out.
"Wait, Ranamon are you scared of your beast spirit?" the wind warrior asked.
The water warrior was quiet.
"Ranamon answer me!" Kazemon shouted
"Okay I admit it, I'm scared to use my beast spirit!" Ranamon cried, "Every time I used that thing, everyone hated me!".
"Really, well that sounds mean?" Plessiomon pointed out.
"Who asked you?!" Beetlemon shouted with annoyance.
"I can't do it," Ranamon cried, "I can't become Calmaramon again!".
"Ranamon," Kazemon moaned, feeling sorry for the water warrior, "Please, we promise we won't make fun of you,".
"Yeah, Calmaramon not that bad!" Grumblemon added.
"Well, to be honest," Beetlemon almost said, before Arbormon bonked his head with his extended hand, "Ow hey!".
"If yah can't say anything nice, it's best to shad up, right," the wood warrior said.
"But!" Ranamon pleaded, before the Seadramon got closer, "Ahh, oh fine!" She was then covered in fractal code, "Ranamon, slide evolution!".
Ranamon's skin turned white, while messy purple hair grew, before a squid emerged from below and grabbed the water warrior with all its tentacles like a mouth. The tentacles then fell down dead, reviling the squid armored sea hag.
"Calmaramon!" she screeched.
The water beast then burst out of the Seadramon's grip, as freakish as always.
"Oh my goodness!" one of the MegaSeadramon said with shock.
"What the heck is that freak!?" another added.
Calmaramon heard this and screeched with anger "Raaaahhhh!" she then slammed her tentacles down and jumped into the air, "Titanic Twist!". The squid than spun like a drill and charged into the MegaSeadramon, ripping right past them
"Rrrraagghhh!" They screamed as their bodies faded to black and their fractal code was taken.
"What in the name of-?!" Plesiomon shouted, before Calmaramon grabbed him by the neck and started spinning around, "Whoaoaoaoaoaoo!" he stuttered, before being thrown into the sky, "Yaaaahhhooohhohoiih!" he screamed, leaving a star in the sky.
The Seadramon that remained dove back under the water and swam away faster then a rapid waterfall.
"Nice one Calmaramon!" The legendary warriors cheered, having gotten out of the rubble.
But the squid just screamed with rage, as she slammed her tentacles about.
"Um, Calmaramon?" Grumblemon asked, a bit scared.
The water beast then looked at the others, her eyes glowing red, "Acid Ink!" she then spat out black ink at the heroes.
"Ahh!" they screamed, before dodging.
"Hey, I didn't say anything?!" Beetlemon shouted.
"What's wrong with her?" Kumamon asked
"Raaaaaaggghhh!" Calmaramon screamed, going completely berserk, "Acid Ink!" she then started spewing out ink all over the graveyard.
Meanwhile with Reflectmon,
"No," Reflectmon trembled, as he stepped back a bit, "It can't be'ith?".
But is was, the corrupted warrior of darkness, Duskmon.
The steel child trembled with fear as he gazed upon the dark warrior. While it wasn't as bad as the fear when he was cracked, the sight of the skull clad Digimon was still a frightening sight to behold. Especially when Reflectmon lacked any of his spirits.
"D-duskmon, so, thou has found me, eh?" the steel child trembled as he held his rapier, "Th-thou can't frighten me!?"
The warrior of darkness just breathed heavily, his head hanging low.
"Eh, what's the matter?" Relfectmon asked, slightly cocky, "Can thou no longer speak'ith?".
Duskmon then stared down the former steel warrior and growled, "You!".
"Gha!?" Reflectmon jumped, though he tried to hide his fear.
"You dare enter my kingdom?!" Duskmon roared, sounding more feral than before.
Unfortunately, the steel child did not have time to dwell on what this meant, for Duskmon then lunged at him.
Reflectmon tried to block with his rapier, but the warrior of darkness easily overpowered him with his sword. This forced the steel child back, leaving him little time to retaliate as Duskmon dashed at him. Reflectmon quickly summoned a mirror card to try to send away the demonic Digimon.
But Duskmon just sliced through it.
"Your finished, Deathly Gaze!" he then charged up his eye lasers.
Reflectmon was to paralyzed with fear to escape. But right before he could be fried, someone jumped in and tackled Reflectmon out of the way.
"Eh?" the steel said, before noticing who saved him, "Takuya?"
"Reflectmon, thank goodness," the human groaned as he got up, "You sure know how to find trouble?".
"So, thou cared for'th me, after how much I antagonaized thy?" Reflectmon asked,
"Well duh, weren't you paying attention when we kicked Daemon out of you?" Takuya said, before sounding sincere "Look I'm sorry about what I said,".
Relfectmon was quiet, looking baffled at this, as well as feeling a bit of guilt.
"But, thou was right?" Reflectmon pointed out, "My horrid actions have resulted in much suffering, especially towards sweet Ranamon?".
"Still, I shouldn't have lost it with you," Takuya explained, "Even if you were being a big jerk,".
"Excuse thou?!" Reflectmon retorted, a bit offended.
But before they could really catch up, the warrior of darkness let out a loud roar.
"Duskmon!" Takuya said as he approached the demonic Digimon, "It's been awhile," he said, trying to sound strong.
"Raaauuggghhh!" Duskmon growled, as the glitching ate at him.
"You won't scare me this time," Takuya said, as he pulled out his D-tector.
"Is thou daft?" Reflectmon asked, his fear showing, "None ha'th ever bested Duskmon, how can thy face him?".
"Because, I promised I'd protect my friends," Takuya explained, "I may have failed to protect them from Duskmon before, but I've grown a lot since then,".
He then thought back to when he went to the human world as Flamon, and the trials he faced in the steel beast Sephirothmon.
"I won't run, you can't scare me Duskmon!" Takuya said, before beginning his evolution.
Both of the spirits of fire glowed as the boy was covered in fractal code. The spirits each gave pieces of themselves as Takuya gained a new form. The fractal code then exploded away, revealing a red armored dragonoid warrior. The dragonborn hero slammed onto the pedestal as he threw a fireball and proclaimed himself as, "Aldamon!".
Reflectmon trembled at the sight of the fire fusion a bit.
"You okay?" Aldamon asked.
"Eh, yes," the steel child said, shaking it off, "But can thou really best the dark warrior?".
"Trust me, I will protect you," the fire fusion asked, before taking flight towards Duskmon.
"Trust?" Reflectmon pondered.
Meanwhile in the Trailmon Graveyard,
The water beast was going absolutely wild, attacking anything that moved. As well as anything that didn't move.
"She's completely lost control," Beetlemon said, rather fearfully, before dodging and acid ink.
Kazemon quickly flew to the squid, "Calm down, what's wrong?".
But Calmaramon just swatted her aside, screaming with anger, "Raaaaaaggghhh!".
"Aaahh!" Kazemon screamed as she hit the ground, "Hey what the heck!?"
Calmaramon then let another roar, her eyes red with rage. She then slammed her tentacles down and jumped into the air and started to spin, "Titanic Twist!" the squid then spun like a drill as she went barreling towards the heroes.
"Look out!" Kumamon cried.
Sadly there wasn't enough time to move. However, Arbormon reacted fast.
"Slide Evolution!" the wood warrior then morphed into, "Petaldramon!".
The wood beast then quickly stood up and aimed at the squid, "Leaf Cyclone!" Petaldramon then blasted the incoming water beast with a leaf filled tornado.
This slowed the descent and caused Calmaramon to crash right before hitting the heroes.
"Petaldramon!" Grumblemon groaned.
"Heys look, I's was doing what needed to be dones, right!" he replied, before turning back to Arbormon, "Besides, I doubt that would have done her in, yah understand?".
"Ranamon!" Kazemon cried, before devolving and running to where the water beast crashed.
With all the damage from when Calmaramon had hit the ground, she had turned back to Ranamon, "Uh, huh, w-wha?" she said with confusion, "What just happened?".
"Hm, you no remember?" Grumblemon asked, as he and the others walked up to the water warrior, "You just try to smash us!".
"What was going on with yah?" Arbormon asked.
"I-I don't know?" Ranamon replied while Zoe helped her up, "I just couldn't control myself?" she then looked at all the damage done by her attacks, "Oh my, I didn't hurt y'all did I?".
"No, but you came pretty close?" JP answered, having turned back to human alongside Tommy and Zoe, "I thought you had that thing under control?".
"I did, but I?" Ranamon said, stepping away a bit, "Oh what's wrong with me!?".
"It's okay, I'm sure you didn't mean it," Zoe assured, "We're not mad at you,".
Ranamon then looked at the human. While her words were reassuring, the water warrior began to remember what she had learned recently. How originally, Zoe would have never acted this nice towards her. Ranamon then looked like she was tearing up.
"Huh, what's wrong?" Zoe asked with concern, "I told you everything's okay?".
"How can you be so nice?" Ranamon asked, "You weren't supposed to be so nice to me sugar?".
"What are you talking about?" Zoe said, "You're my friend?".
"But we weren't supposed to-?" Ranamon tried to say, before Grumblemon covered her mouth.
"Quiet Ranamon, they not need know!" he grumbled.
"Not know about what?" JP asked with suspicion.
"Is everything okay?" Tommy asked.
"Well, erms, I, well," Arbormon replied, trying to come up with a proper answer.
"You've been acting kinda weird since you went to help Reflectmon?" Zoe pointed out, "Did something happen?".
The three Digimon sighed, knowing that it was unavoidable at this point.
"Yeah, something did happen," Arbormon spoke.
They then told the humans about what they had learned that their redemption and friendship wasn't supposed to happen. As well as that the three's fusion were not supposed to happen and about the one who was doing all this and his Digimon.
"What, no way?!" Tommy said in shock.
"That can't be true?" Zoe said, her heart wavering.
"That's what I felt sugar, but it is," Ranamon said, feeling just as depressed, "We weren't supposed to become friends at all,".
"You guys, and the fusion, no I don't believe it!" JP said, as he looked at his D-tector.
However, Grumblemon noticed that he was looking at data for his fusion form and noticed something familiar.
"Wait minute, me see that before!" the earth warrior spoke, referring to the crystal logo on the D-tector, "That symbol all over place where DND at,".
"Huh?!" JP gasped, as he realized what this meant, "Then, I guess it is true?".
The three Digimon frowned, feeling the despair from before once again.
"Then, we really weren't supposed to have the fusions?" Tommy said sadly, remembering how they wouldn't work during the battle with the steel beast.
"Now hold on a minute, don't you remember what happened with Treblemon!" Zoe said, "We earned those fusions no matter what anyone says!".
"That's all and good, but just think how we's feel, right," Arbormon said.
"Oh dear, you must feel awful about this," Zoe said with concern.
"I can't even imagine things without you now Grumblemon," JP said with sadness.
They group was then silent. Until the Trailmon spoke.
"Urm excuss me, but y'all are still here now, yah?" angler asked, "I don't really know what's going on, but you certainly look more lively den me at the moment, so is it really a big deal?".
"Not helping fish," Grumblemon groaned.
"Sorry, I just don't get vwhat the big deal is?" Angler said, before letting out a few coughs, "After all you three look just as lively as when you'd three traveled on me before?".
This caught the other's attention.
"Wait, do we's knows you?" Arbormon asked, trying to remember.
But before he could answer, the Trailmon Angler started coughing uncontrollably.
"Huh, what's wrong sugar?" Ranamon asked with concern.
Then as he coughed, his light went out and bolts flew out of his withered body.
"Maybe he's dying?" Zoe said, before more bolts came out and his body cracked open, "This is horrible!".
"Auu, auaaahh!" Trailmon Angler cried as red light emerged from his cracks in his body.
"Hold on!" JP cried, as he and the other humans tried to hold the train together.
"Angler!" Zoe cried.
"I think that my time has come at last," Angler moaned.
The kids cried in fear, knowing their recent friend was about to depart for the railway in the sky.
"Nein, nein, no crying," Angler moaned, "I had a good life while it lasted, I'm sad that I couldn't help you after all", his eye then shattered.
"Angler no!" JP cried.
"It's not fair!" Tommy cried as he hugged the train.
"I feel so bad for him," Ranamon said, trying not to tear up.
But suddenly, Arbormon then shot out his hands and pulled the kids back.
"No!" Tommy cried.
"Arbormon do you have a screw loose!?" Ranamon yelled, before noticing the apathetic look on the earth warrior, "Uh, Grumblemon?".
But then Grumblemon then leaped into with his hammer and then slammed it onto the Trailmon.
"Grumblemon no!" the others cried in horror.
Then after the hammer struck, Trailmon exploded with red light as the metal shattered.
"How could you Grumblemon!?" JP yelled, "What's gotten into, huh?".
Then as the smoke cleared, the kids were left dumbfounded by what they saw.
"I, don't believe it," Jp said, his mouth gawking like a diamond.
"Did that really happen?" Zoe added.
It turned out that Trailmon Angler wasn't dead. In fact, he looked as good as new, having shed the old rotten parts like a shell.
"All that and he's still alive?" Tommy asked as he gazed upon the repaired train fish.
"Silly humans, Trailmon no die, just shed old metal like scrap," Grumblemon explained while leaning on his hammer.
This caused the humans to fall down humorously.
"Oh, I guess that slipped my mind?" Ranamon said, slightly embarrassed.
"Right," Arbormon added, somewhat annoyed.
"Yeah well I guess things weren't as bad as they seemed huh?" Trailmon Angler sheepishly said "In Fact they're vwonderful, vwonderful!" he then let out a blast of steam, before spinning his angler around in joy, "Yay I'm young again, free to right zah rails an eat pound after pound of sauerkraut!".
"Yeah yeah, we get, shut up!" Grumblemon shouted with annoyance.
"Now I'm just like you schnitzels!" Angler cheered, ignoring the gnome, "All good as new!"
"You know what, I think he's right?" JP said, seeming positive, much to the Digimons surprise.
"Huh, what fore JP mean!?" Grumblemon asked.
"Well we thought Angler was going to be gone, but he still here?" Tommy explained, "Since you guys are still here, hows that any different?".
"Huh, I's guess dat makes sense, right?" Arbormon said as he scratched his head.
"Besides, now we got to have you guys as friends now," Zoe happily said, "Who cares what was supposed to happen, the way things now is way better,".
"Zoe?" Ranamon said, feeling emotional like a weight of anxiety had been lifted off her and the others, before hugging the human, "You're absolutely right sugar, I shoulda neva doubt you!".
"Yeah, who care what before," Grumblemon added, "We here now!".
"Hey it's just like dat Takuya said, right," Arbormon said, before shaking hands with Tommy "Still thanks for dah reassurance friends, yah understand,".
"Sorry no tell sooner," Grumblemon added, "Guess we Digimon just worried or something?".
"No problem buddy," JP said, before he and the earth warrior high fived.
Once the heroes finished celebrating, they then looked at the cheery Trailmon.
"So what fore do with him?" Grumblemon asked.
"Hey weren't yous saying yous know'ed us er something, right?" Arbormon asked.
"Huh, oun yah?" Angler said, "I think you'd had me take something in a big box to a castle under a rose or something?".
This then made them realize how this train knew them.
"Wait, now I remember," Ranamon said, "You who we used to take Ophanimon to lord Cherubimon!".
"Say what!?" the humans said with surprise.
Back with the other warriors,
The battle between the fire fusion and the warrior of darkness raged on!
"Deathly Gaze!" he screamed as he fired lasers at the dragonborn.
Aldamon swooped out of the way with ease. The dragonborn then readied his attack
"Atomic Inferno!" he then let loose a barrage of fire.
The flames pelted Duskmon, but he quickly lunged at the fire fusion with his sword drawn. Aldamon grabbed the sword with his blaster but was forced down. Despite the size difference, Duskmon was still putting up a tough fight.
The dark warrior slashed relentlessly, while the fire fusion blocked with his blasters. Aldamon then slammed Duskmon with his tail, knocking him back.
But Duskmon recovered quickly and locked his eyes on Aldamon, "Deathly Gaze!".
The lasers then hit the hero's back with great precision, "Aaaah!" Aldamon groaned in pain, before turning around and charging at the skull-clad Digimon.
As the two clashed, the steel child watched as the battle showed in his mirrors. Aldamon, the Digimon that ended him before, now fought to protect him from the deranged dark Digimon.
Reflectmon pondered what Takuya had said before, "Protect thy friends eh?" Reflectmon thought. He remembered how before, he had used his comrades for his own gain, except for one particulate time maybe.
Back when they fought against the celestial angle Seraphimon. Right before Mercurymon had finished off the angel with his own attack, Seraphimon was going to use it to defeat Grumblemon, Arbormon, and Ranamon. But Mercurymon had teleported in front of them right before and deflected it with his dark reflection.
"Hm, I wonder, was that act merely for my own gaine?" he thought, "Or perhaps, I wished to protect what was dear to me?".
He then wondered, why did he do it then? He could have easily dealt when Seraphimon attacked him, but instead he struck while also protecting his friends.
There was also that time he helped Ranamon learn to control her beast spirit. When he thought of how kind he was to her and happy she had felt, he realized that was not an act of selfishness.
While this seemed rather trivial, the way Takuya protected him made him think back to this. After all, the weapons of the steel warrior were shields. So maybe, protecting wasn't that strange of a concept to him?
"Takuya, is this desire be what gives thou strength?" Reflectmon said to himself, thinking back to how determined the boy had been back in Sephirothmon and when he saved him from Daemon's clutches, "Hm, perhaps thou not be'ith as dense as I thought'ith?".
Suddenly, Duskmon struck Aldamon in the gut with his sword, forcing the fire warrior back, "Enough!" he screamed.
"Gah!" Aldamon screamed in pain as he hit the ground.
"You, will die!" Duskmon screamed as his glitched eyes locked onto Aldamon, "Deathly Gaze!" he then charged up his lasers, slightly delayed by the glitching.
"Ger, no," The fusion tried to move, but the damage in the gut was too painful.
"Aldamon!" Reflectmon said in fear, before looking determined.
The fire fusion closed his eyes as the lasers approached.
But suddenly, Reflectmon appeared in front of the fire fusion. "House of Cards!" he then summoned a large mirror card in front of himself, that intercepted the beams.
However, the lasers were powerful and could not be absorbed by the card. It took all the steel child's strength to keep the mirror card up, leaving him unable to summon more mirror cards to retaliate.
"Reflectmon!?" Aldamon said in astonishment, "What are you doing?!".
"Hah, is thou really that clueless?" Reflectmon said, trying hold the mirror, "I be'ith returning the favor!".
Aldamon tried to stand, "You sure you can hold that?".
"Nonsense, for I can keep-," he tried to brag, but then flinched as the card began to crack, "Gah, well, perhaps not?" he then tried to sound strong, "No matter, tis time I answered for my sins,".
"What are you talking about?!" Aldamon asked, "You've already been purified?".
"Tis matters not," Reflectmon groaned, "For'th so long, I served myself, sacrificing so much, including thy loved one," he nearly shed a tear at the thought of Ranamon, "But no more, for thou ha'th showed me the truth!" he said with determination, "Tis be more rewarding to protect, to not serve thyself, but to serve thy friends!".
The mirror card was now covered with cracks and was about to shatter.
"Even if I fail, I trust the others shall prevail!" Reflectmon shouted with pride.
"Reflectmon!" Aldamon cried, before feeling something in his code.
The card finally shattered, in a flash of light! Reflectmon closed his eyes, ready to accept his fate. But when the light faded, he was still there, as was Aldamon.
"Eh, praytell, what trickery be this?" Reflectmon asked. He then looked to see that something had forced Duskmon back, "Tis your doing Aldamon?".
"No," the fire fusion said calmly, before pointing at something and smiled, "I think it was that,".
"Pardon?" Reflectmon then looked to the human spirit of steel floating in front of him, "Egads, tis be my spirit?".
As he looked at the spirit as it floated into his hands, Reflectmon could sense something. That his brave act of protecting had pleased the spirit greatly.
"I thinkyou finally understand thing now," Aldamon smirked, "Pretty sure you've earned that spirit Reflectmon,".
The steel child then scoffed, "Hmph, as if I need'ith thou to point out the obvious?".
"Just spirit evolve already," Aldamon jokingly groaned.
"Very well," Relfectmon smirked.
The spirit of steel glowed as Reflectmon appeared in the digivolution zone. His body became shadowed as his mirrors glowed white. Then the parts of the star-shaped mirror knight appeared around in their proper places. The armor then slowly pressed onto the Digimon, before the fractal code dispersed, revealing the warrior of steel.
Rather than landing on the pedestal, a mirror shield appeared. Then with the snap of his finger, he appeared out of it and spread out his arms and bowed as his mirrors shined, before proclaiming himself,
"Mercurymon!"
And thus, the Legendary Warrior of Steel had returned to his former glory.
"Yes behold, for I ,the legendary warrior of Steel, Mercurymon hath returned!" he declared as his mirrors shined.
"That supposed to scare me?" Duskmon growled, as his data glitched, "I shall still end you!" he then drew his swords and dashed forward.
"Hah, as if I'd let that threaten me!" Mercurymon scoffed as he held up his mirror shield.
Suddenly, a beam of reflective light shined out of the shield, blinding the dark warrior.
"Hurrrggghh!" Duskmon groaned as the light forced him back.
Mecurymon then appeared next to the warrior of darkness and punched him in the face, "Oh how satisfying this be,".
"Raahhh!" Duskmon cried as he fell down. But he was not down for long, "Die!" he then charged towards the downed Aldamon.
The fusion stood strong, but the pain from the prior stab made him unable to retaliate, "Gerggnh!"
But before the dark warrior could strike with his swords, Mercurymon slid in and blocked it with his mirror shield.
"Dark Reflection!" he said with a smirk.
The mirror shined, as it forced back the dark warrior with his own evil strength.
"Aaaauugghh!" Duskmon screamed as he hit the ground.
"Ahah, tis good to be back," Mercurymon laughed.
"You, you won't be back for long you fool!" Duskmon growled as he got up, his many eyes spazzing "Raaaahhhhhh!" he roared, booming with dark energy, "Deathly Gaze!".
Duskmon then blasted the ground his foes stood on, missing then just enough for them to dodge.
Mercurymon stood strong holding up his mirror shield, while Aldamon struggled to land a bit.
"Hmph, to much for thou?" Mercurymon joked.
"Nah, just taking a breather," Aldamon replied casually, before standing up strong.
Duskmon meanwhile was going absolutely berserk. The virus from before was really hurting him now, causing him to fire his deathly gazes at random, "Rrraaaaaggghhhh, Koooojjjiiiii!".
"We got to end this now!" Aldamon said.
"I concur," Mercurymon nodded.
Aldamon then activated his blasters and took aim at the dark warrior, "Atomic Inferno!" he then began rapidly blasting.
But Duskmon jumped into the air, dodging the attack.
"Darn!" Aldamon growled.
But Mercurymon hatched a plan, "Aldamon, attempt thy attack again!" he commanded, while teleporting to behind where the dark warrior had landed.
"But I might hit you?" the fire fusion pointed out.
"Precisely!" Mercurymon smirked.
Aldamon picked up one what he meant pretty quickly, "Alright, Atomic Inferno!".
Once again Duskmon dodge, leading the flames towards the steel warrior. Duskmon noticed and realized what was going to happen, but it was too late for him to react!"
"Dark Reflection!" Mercurymon then absorbed the fore into his mirror. While the heat was a bit intense, he trudged through it and pointed his other mirror at the dark warrior.
The flames then shot out, their power doubled by the mirror, and pelted Duskmon mercilessly.
"Nnnnaarrrggghhhh!" he cried as he fell to his knees. After all the battling with Beowolfmon and against the warriors of fire and steel, a darkened glitched fractal code began to show from his body.
"We, we did," Aldamon said in disbelief.
"Tis true," Mercurymon added, "For the warrior of darkness hath been brought to thy knees!".
"Time to end this," Aldamon said, as he brought out his D-tector.
But then, dark lighting surrounded Duskmon, followed by a smog of darkness.
"What's happening to him?" the fire warrior asked.
"Ghasp, it be'ith the dark lord himself," Mercurymon said with fear, "Cherubimon!".
The dark Digimon glared, before forcing the two heroes back with lighting.
"Come to me Duskmon," Cherubimon growled as he made a darkness cover his final warrior.
In the Darkness, Duskmon appeared.
"Alright, now neutralize the virus interloper!" Cherubimon spoke, though not to Duskmon it seemed.
Gerr, fine. This should do it.
The dimensions then flicked and warped. Then when they stopped, the warrior of Darkness no longer felt pain.
"Nuugh, what?" Duskmon groaned with releaf.
"Duskmon it is time for you to remember the day you came into the Digital World," Cherubimon spoke, before his eyes and mouth glowed behind the warrior of darkness, "Allow me to assist you,".
The dark lord then opened his eyes and mouth wide, causing Duskmon to flicker between himself and a human that resembled Koji.
The boy screamed in pain, before soon finding himself in a foggy dark realm with the fractured digital world rotating in the back.
"Hello?" the boy asked, sounding shy, "Is someone here, anyone?".
He then saw someone in the distance that looked like a man with glasses.
"P-papa?" the boy asked, "You are my dad right, pap I-?".
Then the man vanished into a puff of fog. This startled the boy a bit, before he saw an elderly woman nearby.
"Grandma?" he asked, before the woman vanished as well, "Grandma!".
Before the boy could even process what was going on, a bright light shined above him. As he shielded his eyes, he could see someone behind the light that resembled himself.
"Koji, you're Koji right?" the boy asked, as he reached his hand out to him, "Koji, I wanted to meet you, I know you don't know me and I know it sounds a little weird, but I know you," he then tried to approach, but a cloud began to cover Koji, "No don't go!" he cried, but it was no use as the other boy vanished, "Koji, don't leave me!".
The boy slowly stopped, tearing up as he realized how useless it was. He soon fell to the ground sobbing, but soon his sadness turned to anger.
"Why won't anyone pay attention to me!" he growled, "Pay attention to me,".
"You have my attention boy," Cherubimon growled as his face appeared from behind, "The darkness in your heart drew me straight to you," the face then frowned, "Your loneliness and sadness, your angry soul, is like honey to me," he smiled gleefully "Sweet, pained, darkness,".
"Darkness?" the boy said with confusion.
"I like you," Cherubimon said, before vanishing.
"Who are you?" the boy asked as a wind blew against him. As he looked back, the spirit of darkness that resembled Duskmon glowed blood red.
"I am the one who will set you free," Cherubimon said, "I will release the darkness in your heart and it will give you great power," As he said this, the boys eyes turned dark, "You will become one with the spirit of darkness,".
The spirit then began to take control, causing the boy to scream in pain.
"Aaahahaahh!" he screamed as he flicked into Duskmon.
"It hurts because you still remember your pathetic human heart," Cherubimon explained as his face glowed from behind, "Let go, let its darkness fill your soul!"
Duskmon continued to struggle in pain, as he was surrounded in fractal code.
"This time your heart shall not trouble you!" Cherubimon smiled, as a spirit that resembled a demonic bird wrapped in chains appeared.
The chains then glowed red before shattering. The bird shaped spirit then roared as it took control. Then from inside Duskmon, the boy's eyes turned dark and soulless as he smiled a menacing grin.
"Yes, now you see," Cherubimon said as he lingered over the dark Digimon, "You are a creature of darkness, my creature," as he said this, Duskmon began to evolve into something horrid, "With this spirit you will become a true warrior of darkness, you will not have to fear the light Duskmon, ever again!".
Darkness then exploded from the Digimon as he evolved to his beast spirit, "Duskmon, slide evolution!" he then became the demonic bird, "Velgemon!".
Then outside the darkness,
The warriors struggled as the dark energy tried to force them back.
"Whats happening?"
"I fear that the final beast spirit may have been unleashed!" Mercurymon stated, as he held up his mirror shield.
Then as the darkness dispersed, in Duskmon's place was a large demonic bird with red skeletal armor and three glowing eyes.
"W-what kinda beast spirit is that?" the fire warrior asked, somewhat terrified.
"Tis be Velgemon, the beast of darkness," Mercurymon explained, "I never imagined that lord Cherubimon would dare to unseal that spirit,".
Velgemon roared, before taking flight. The demon bird then flapped his gigantic wings down, slamming the warriors with a gust that forced them down.
While they tried to recover, Velgemon began to fly around them with his wing drawing a circle on the ground.
"What's he doing?" Aldamon asked.
"I fear this may be'ith the beast attack?" Mercurymon answered
Then once the circle was complete, dark walls began to rise and began to form a dome.
"Aldamon, thou must return to human from!" Mercurymon commanded, with urgency.
"What?!" the fire fusion asked.
"Listen, thou ask'ed me to trust thy," Mercurymon explained, "Now I must ask thou to do the same, for it be the only way for thou to survive!".
The dark walls were now about to close like a jaw.
"Please, I beg thy!" Mercurymon pleaded.
While the warrior was wary, he knew there was little time for hesitation.
"Okay," Aldamon answered, before fractal code enveloped him and soon left, turning him back to Takuya, "Now what?".
Then before he knew it, Mercurymon then grabbed Takuya and slipped into one of his mirror shields. He then snapped his fingers and the mirror vanished.
Just in time too, for once the dome closed the land within exploded with dark energy. "Dark Obliteration!" Velgemon shouted, causing the dome to exploded and destroyed the land within and around.
Velgemon then looked upon the decimated land as he flew through the air, circling like a vulture.
"Light, destroy light!" he growled.
Assuming his foes were deleted, he then set off to find his rival, the warrior of light.
Once the beast of darkness had flown away, the mirror of the steel warrior reappeared and out came Takuya and Mercurymon.
"Gah, so that's what that feels like?" Takuya said, feeling a bit discomfort.
"Tis a better alternative than the one bestowed by Velgemon," Mercurymon explained, with a bit of snark, "For suet, gaze upon thy work of the beast spirit of darkness,".
Takuya then looked to see the results of Velgemon's attack. The land that they were battling at just a moment ago was practically gone. All that remained was a crater of lifelessness.
"V-velgemon, did this with just one attack?" he gasped in horror, "I can't even imagine what would have happened to me in there?".
"Alas, tis true the beast power," Mercurymon commented, "Cherubimon has grown desperate to of unleashed the the beast of darkness?".
Takuya then turned towards the steel warrior, "Hey, thanks for getting us out of there," he thanked, "Guess you really meant what you said back there?".
"Well, I hath been purified by thy after all," Mercurymon replied, trying to sound friendly.
"Look, I'm sorry about what I said," Takuya apologized, "I shouldn't have snapped like that,".
"Indeed thou shouldn't have, tis be unbecoming of a leader," Mercurymon said as he crossed his arms and looked away, "Though, I suppose thou was not the only one at fault, for that I apologize,".
"Well as long as you're sorry," Takuya said casually, before sounding serious, "But now that Duskmon has his beast spirit, we need to find Koji and the others more than ever now,".
"Fear not, thy Takuya, for now that I haf been restored, my powers can now locate where the light warrior lurks!" Mercurymon proclaimed, before showing Beowolfmon in his mirror shield.
"Wait, so you could've found and brought us to them the whole time?" Takuya asked, getting a bit frustrated.
"But of course, tis one of the powers of my spirit," Mercurymon replied.
"Well why didn't you tell me early!?" Takuya shouted in frustration.
"Thou didst not ask?" Mercurymon replied.
"Auuugghhh!" Takuya growled as he grabbed his head, before letting out a sigh, "You're a really peace of work Mercurymon,".
"Hmph, I only reflect what is," the steel warrior taunted in a friendly way.
"Lets just go already," Takuya replied, also in a friendly way.
"Very well," Mercurymon smiled, before slipping into his mirror shield, which Takuya soon followed with haist.
For both of them knew that it wouldn't be long before the beast of darkness found its prey. However, how much longer would things stay that way?
Narrator Rika: Would you look at that, now Mercurymon's a good guy, I think? Now all that's left is Duskmon, I'm sure 'that will go well'. Find out on the next Digimon Frontier
Purifaction Redmption!
Sweet mercy its finally done!
I am so sorry this chapter took so long everyone. I unfortently got hit be a really bad case of writer's block. Not to mention everything going wrong in 2020 that you proubly already know by now has kinda made it a bit hard to feel creative.
Cherubimon: Really? Or was it because you feared you weren't doing good enough for your reader?.
Hey stay out of this you! Just because you helped me beat Examon in Cyber Sleuth doesn't you can torment me! (Seriously this guy absolutely shreds that dragon).
I really hope the quality of this story is enjoyable. I'm really thankful for everyone who been keeping up with this story and leaving reviews. so I hope I'm not bugging you all or anything?.
I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, hope I didn't forget anything?
Meanwhile elsewhere,
Patamon: This way Papamon!
Bokomon: Patamon come back here!
Neemon: Hey how did we get hey and where did the others go?
Bokomon: Hurry up!.
Neemon: Oh wait for me!
Oops, I forgot about those three. Eh, I'm sure they'll be fine, hehe...
Any case, onto the shout outs.
Speaking of which, special thanks to D.J. Scales, Charmander17, 2 guests, and Lei Lei who is now Lei LeiDigital cyber sleuth.
Yeah Charmander you were right about what I based my digimon off of. Though you couldn't figure out Corlamon? You only had to go one more game over?.
As for stuff regarding Tamers, well... If you guys and gals promise to mention more than just it in your reviews, I might sneak in some more stuff related to that, k?
Also I better not say anything about what one guest mentioned, don't want bunny boy catching on.
Cherubimon: You know, I've noticed something that you've been asked to do for sometime now in those reviews you hold so dearly.
What are you getting at?
Cherubimon: Before I let you go, there's some I'd like you to change. In case Velgemon isn't enough for my creation to claim victory.
Wait, oh dear, I think I see what your getting at?.
Fine, but only on one condition!
Cherubimon: What is it then?
When the time comes for the final phase of my plan, you swear on your holy name that you won't stop me.
Cherubimon: Gurrrrrrr... fine.
Good. Now I'd better go prepare for the next chapter. Mainly what you've requested I suppose.
Cherubimon: See that you do, interloper.
Right...
Anyway, remember that reviews lead to sooner chapters and better stories! Also feel free to ask any questions, me or my digimon my answer them next time.
See you all next time and stay safe from the non digital virus thats out there.
Choa!
