No Such Luck…or Destiny's Deceit?

Ch 8: Reflections in the Hospital

Robert then shook in annoyance as he saw Lynn Sr. and Rita with Lincoln, Michael then said. "Well look who it is, the two bastards for parents who decided to go along with the idea of removing one of their children from the house…"

"Good to see that you're finally acting like real parents at least…" Stephanie said, rolling her eyes away from the Loud parents.

Lincoln was irritated at Michael and his friends being rude.

"Mr. and Mrs. Loud?" Elijah called out.

"What is it, Elijah?" Rita said as she turned to meet Eljah's gaze.

"I think it's time you need to start discplining those daughters of yours…" The teenager said.

The Loud parents nodded in response.

"Michael?" Lincoln called out.

Michael turned his eyes to meet Lincoln's gaze.

"Listen…" The 11-year-old Loud said. He sighed. "I know…you hate my parents, and my sisters for deciding to go along with the idea of seeing me as bad luck, locking me out of the house, and all of that stuff…"

"I do hate your family for being dumb assholes and deciding to go along with the idea of removing you from the house, and selling your furniture…" The Afton teenager said, crossing his arms.

Rita hung her head low in shame, while Lynn Sr. decided to be lost in his thoughts.

Robert sighed, as he took a seat near Lincoln. "You still hung up over that one time your parents and sisters did not let you go to the beach? Did you forgive them?"

"Well, not anymore, and I already forgave them at Lynn's last game a few days ago…" Lincoln narrated.

"Good for you…" The teenager said as he rolled his eyes to the floor.

"Hey Stephanie, did your brother find out about my case…?"

"Unfortunately, yes, he did…" Stephanie said. "He's going to be in a one-in-one with Lynn once he sees her…"

Later that day…

There was a knock on the door, and Lynn Sr. opened it to two familiar Hispanic parents.

"Hey…" Lynn Sr. said, trying to act friendly.

"Quit that act, Lynn." Marcos commanded. "We need to talk…"

"Get Rita and Lynn Jr…" Maria said in a thick Spanish accent.

Later, they got in the living room and Marcos was the first to break the silence.

"What caused this 'mala suerte' mishap to happen?" The Hispanic father asked.

"Ask my daughter…" Rita said, as she pushed Lynn Jr.'s chair in front of the Santiago parents.

As the jock noticed the angered and irritated looks on their faces, she was sweating bullets.

"Explain…or else…" Maria threatened in her native tongue.

"Fine…fine…" Lynn Jr. said as she activated her fight-or-flight response. "I forced him to come to my stupid game and blamed it on him…"

"En serio?" Marcos asked. "Blaming your hermano for losing your game? What does this have to do with him?"

"Nothing…" Lynn Jr. responded meekly.

"See?" Maria spoke in her native tongue. "You use your brother as a scapegoat…he's the one who always gets blamed while you girls get away scot-free, you guys drag him to your events without a break…"

"Maria, look, we—" Rita said when she was interrupted by Marcos.

"Zip it, Rita, you can't turn back time and change what the hell happened over the last dos semanas…" The Hispanic man spoke crossing his arms. "You assholes for parents didn't do anything about this, and you decided to give yourselves the title of parents?"

The Loud matriarch looked away from him as tears escape her eyes, while the Loud patriarch decided to punch himself once.

"Marcos…" He sighed. "I know you're mad at me and my wife for not doing anything about this 'bad luck' situation, William told us off verbally yesterday, Elizabeth cursed us off, and Michael was very angry about what happened with Lincoln's furniture…"

"William found out…but what about Olivia?" Maria asked, the look of sympathy mixed with anger on her face. "Don't think that I have simmered down after what the HELL just happened…"

"Hopefully…she didn't…" Rita heard the telephone ring. "Just a second…"

The phone rang and rang, until the Loud matriarch got on the line. "This is Rita Loud speaking…"

"Hello, this is Julius Williams on the line…" Julius said.

"J-Julius?" The Loud matriarch said, surprised. "Why did you call me?"

"It is one particular thing, about the…" The screen zoomed onto his mouth saying three particular words. "…'bad luck' mishap."

"W-What about it?" Rita chuckled nervously.

"Well…" Julius cleared his throat. "From what my daughter, Stephanie, told me…you labeled him as bad luck, banned him from all of your events, boarded up his room…forced him to sleep outside for a decent two months, did not let him go with you guys to the beach, and made him wear that 'mascot' for good luck…"

The Loud matriarch tried to think up of an answer, and silence lingered around for 40 minutes.

The father of the Williams family spoke, shaking his head. "You know, Rita, you're a son of a bitch who decides to go along with dumb superstitions created by your stupid daughter…"

Rita sniffled at Julius' comment. "I know…" She wiped her nose.

"Did Marcos and Maria find out about it?" Julius asked.

"Yes…and here they are at our house…" Rita answered.

"¿Por qué? ¿Que es eso?" Marcos asked in his native tongue. "Does someone need us for something…importante?"

"It's me, Julius, and I'll put my daughter Stephanie on the line." Julius said, as he gave the telephone to Stephanie.

"Hello, Mr. Santiago." Stephanie greeted.

"Ey, oye! Que pasa? Buena para encontrar tu y tu familia…" Marcos greeted. "How did you find out about the 'mala suerte' incidente that happened with Lincoln and his familia two months ago on Marzo?"

"Lincoln talked with us about it…" The teenage girl said.

Not even minutes later, the front door was kicked open. Maria, turning her head, sees an angry Olivia with tears in her eyes, along with a disappointed William, the children, Michael, Elizabeth, and CC, crossed their arms. The Hispanic woman got up and poked Rita's shoulder.

"Well, looks like you screwed up this time…" She said, looking at the mother of the Afton family.

"What is it, Maria…?" The Loud matriarch asked, squinting her eyebrows.

"Look at Olivia…" Maria said, shakily pointing her finger at Olivia. "We're dead meat..and looks like you were absolutely wrong...she already found out…"

"Rita…" Olivia said as she stomped up to Rita. "Give me. A. Fucking. Reason. Why you treated Lincoln like some sort of imperfection…"

Nervous, Rita raised her pointer finger and said. "Well…he he…I don't know?"

"So that's it, huh?" Olivia said as she smiled with her left eye twitching in anger. "You…" She pointed at Rita. "…decided to go along with your dumb daughter's lies…"

"Mrs. Afton…I can—" Lynn Jr. was interrupted by William.

"Shut your trap, no one wants to hear your speech."

The Afton mother slowly turned her head to meet Lynn Jr.'s gaze. Grabbing her shirt, she asked her. "Now give me a good reason why you blamed Lincoln for his 'bad luck'."

"He ruined my winning streak, and it was proven when I won my other two games…we then put him in that mascot to mask his—" Lynn Jr. was pushed to the wall by Olivia.

"And you think you can associate spiritual beliefs with reality?" Olivia said, angered. She formed her brows into a V-shape. She let go of the avid sports fancier and turned to Rita. "Then you kick your son out of the house, you promised you or Lynn would never kick out any of your children. But no…considering you fell for that lie, you sold Lincoln's furniture, kicked him out of the house, and told him not to go to the beach…for no, good, reason…"

Olivia then balled her right hand into a fist, then she aims it at Rita's face.

"Ey, ey, ey!" Maria said as she quickly rushed to Olivia and restrained her. "There's no necesidad for violence around here, Olivia…"

The Afton mother breaks free of Maria's grip, and grabs something…that was…

Lynn Sr. was pulled from his thoughts when he heard the drawer open.

Olivia grabs Lincoln's diary, she opened the book and she just couldn't believe what she found…

William followed his wife and looked at what is inside the book, drawings of what happened during the past two months. The first drawing showed Chandler making fun of Lincoln in the squirrel suit, and Roberto and Lori were talking to each other. The second picture, was Lincoln being surrounded with eyes in a dark room, with the central image being the words, 'YOU ARE BAD LUCK', the third picture was the sisters and parents being happy while Lincoln, who was in the background, had nothing to show for his achievements.

Olivia closes the book, and drops it on the floor.

"Oh no…" Marcos said as he hung up the call.

The Afton mother starts a fight with Rita, and they start fighting each other. They pulled each other's hair, and landed bruises on each area of their bodies.

Lynn Sr. and Maria quickly rush to restrain the two, and they were like cats that fight over nothing.

William then processes the images he saw on Lincoln's artbook.

3 days later…

The Emily car parks up in the driveway, Henry turns off the engine, and Valerie got out with Lincoln in tow.

Lincoln was the first to walk up to the Emily residence, he twists the knob and sees Charlotte and Sammy watching TV.

He opens the door fully, looking around the house. The 11-year-old Loud sat on the armchair absent-mindedly. The parents of the Emily family got in and closed the door.

Henry and Valerie go to the kitchen and they went to get two chairs for themselves.

The father of the Emily family sighed. "Do you think that something serious is going on at Lincoln's house?"

"Yes…his sisters started treating him like bad luck lately. If we call Lincoln over, maybe he can shed some light on the situation hopefully…" The wife answered her husband.

He was busy lingering in his thoughts, when a voice called out to him.

"Lincoln!"

Lincoln shook his head, and walked into the kitchen. He grabs his chair and takes his seat.

"What is it that you want to talk about?"

"Well…" Henry cleared his throat. "…we want to talk about what happened at your house recently."

"Well…" Lincoln turned his eyes to his left. "…about that, it all started on a peaceful Thursday morning…"

"What happened afterwards?" Valerie asked, getting curious.

"I was trying to get a break from my sisters' events, when Lynn came up to me. She asked me if I could come to her game, and I rejected the offer…"

"Then?"

"She forced me to come to her game, the sad thing is, her team lost that day…maybe because the other team managed to counter Lynn's skills, and trained a bit more before the game…when I shared her my condolences, she threw a banana peel at me and told me I am bad luck…"

"What did she do again?" Henry asked, not liking where this going.

"I denied that fact at first, an idea sparked in my head. I used the lie to help ban myself from coming to any of my sisters' events, it worked until…they decided to sell my furniture because it was tainted my bad luck, my room was boarded up…" Lincoln said, turning his eyes to the right.

"Wait…your family did WHAT?" Valerie asked, irritated.

"Lynn added more fuel to the fire by spreading the lie to Mom, Dad, and my other sisters. They then left me a note saying that they just 'can't risk it'…they then close their doors on me, and I resorted to sleeping outside, and our dog Charles believed the lie associating me with popular belief…"

"Now this sounds like something needing the attention of the authorities…" Henry said as he got up from his chair when Lincoln stopped him.

"Mr. Emily! Police don't need to know about this…" Lincoln said as he raised his hands in protest.

"Are you sure, sweetie?" Valerie said, crossing her arms.

"Sure!" Lincoln sighed, and tears form in his eyes as he left the room and went upstairs.

To be continued in Ch 9…

A/N: Hello readers, we're back with chapter 8 of this NSL-associated story. Now, people in 2017 have made a lot of fanfics about said episode, and there were a lot, on DeviantArt, FanFiction, Wattpad…

And I was planning to add Roberto and Lori in terms of responsibility for the luck incident, Lincoln will talk to them next chapter, and it will not be like the time when Lincoln lashed out at his family.

Julius will sort out what was happening at the Loud residence, and piece it together to find evidence. Abigail will process the news, Jamie will try to get Lincoln to talk to him hopefully. Maybe calling the police was quite traumatizing for Lincoln...just like Michael.

Fritz, who is Jennifer's younger brother, will find out once someone spills the beans to him.

Please leave a review, and I wish you all a good day or night, and good health.
