No Such Luck…or Destiny's Deceit?
Ch 13: A Sister's Regret
"Hello Lincoln!" Cassidy said, as she took her seat next to Lincoln. "It's nice to see you in a better shape than when you and your sister got into a massive misunderstanding."
"Yeah…" Fritz said. "I also heard about her stupid superstitions about you being bad luck."
"Well, I'm going to be partially blamed for." Lincoln responded. "Ahem… I went along with her superstitions in the first place, just to get some time to myself."
"Well, you could've just talked it out with them instead of going along with your stupid sister's load of crap, why didn't you tell them in the first place?" Ronalda replied in Spanish.
"Well, she forced him to go in the first place…" Cindy began.
"She did?" The Latina girl asked. "Well, what I said may be wishful thinking, considering that your hermanas will force you to do so, and play the guilt-card on you constantly."
"They even used the whole 'this family supports each other' card…" The 11-year-old Loud said. "Then how come they get more time to themselves? They act like they're the ones who have more priority than me!"
"Well, I'm glad that Chandler switched classes…" Clyde said. "Not gonna lie, I saw some girls acting all giddy over you. One said that she wanted to get married to you when you grow up…"
"Get married?" Lincoln said, disgusted. "Nah, nope, I'm not going to."
"You gave that little bastard a piece of his mind…" Said Cassidy, disgusted at the mention of Chandler. "I sure hope his parents don't press any charges on you…"
"Charges?!" Said Fritz. "Assault and Battery? First-Degree Assault? Second-Degree Assault? First-Degree Murder?!"
"Shh!" Clyde said. "Fritz, stop being so noisy! Other people and school staff will hear us out there."
"Right…" Lincoln said. "I may or may have not got Mr. and Mrs. Emily involved in the situation…"
"Yeah…I may or may not have seen them in the principal's office." Ronalda said in her thick Spanish accent.
At the principal's office…
"Are you Lincoln Loud's parents?" Asked Principal Jones.
"No, no." Valerie said, giggling. "We are his aunt and uncle, yes…"
"So…" The principal said. "The fight that has been circling around for days…" He pulled out the Royal Woods Times newspaper, which had the report of the fight between Lincoln and Chandler. "Was this true?"
Valerie took the newspaper from Theodore and she read it.
ROYAL WOODS TIMES
"11-year-old boy gets angry and beats up five boys at Ketcham Park, one brutally injured and four others wounded."
"It…It was the scariest sight I've ever seen…" – Elizabeth, aged 9
Today Sunday at exactly 2:51 p.m. UTC, the five boys were teasing the little girl, when two teenagers along with some kids ran into the scene to help the victim.
Victim says his leg and stomach hurts, but he goes and walks up to the five boys. He froze in place when he saw the boys tease the little girl. Angered, he calls them 'heartless bastards' and grabs a dead branch.
He soon gets into an intense fight with the boys, and boy, it was so intense that a lot of flying fists were involved.
After the fight, the ring leader had a broken nose, black eye, his cheeks were swollen shut, and some of his teeth were missing. The other boys didn't have any serious injuries though, ranging from bruises to large welts or cuts.
Scared, the boys fled from the scene. Then the boy and and the little girl, who turned out to be his little sister walked away from the scene.

Lynn Sr. and Rita peeked from the door, and came in.
"Is there anything concerning, Valerie?" Rita said Valerie's name in a serious tone.
"Are you Lincoln Loud's parents?" Asked the principal.
"Yes." Rita said. "We are."
"Well…" Principal Jones said as he took the newspaper from Valerie. "Have you heard about your son, Lincoln, getting into a fight with another student on Sunday?"
"Well, we have seen it on the telly." The father, Lynn Sr., narrated. "We were shocked at first, and so many questions popped up in my head…"
"Good thing is, the family of that redhead kid didn't press charges." His wife, Rita, added, putting a hand on her waist.
"Come on, Valerie." Said Henry as he went off with his wife to Lincoln's classroom.
They reached Lincoln's classroom, went inside, talked to the teacher, and fetched Lincoln.
Henry and Valerie, with Lincoln in tow, escorted him outside the principal's office.
"Lincoln…" Valerie sniffled. "We're very disappointed in you right now…"
"Why?" Lincoln asked.
"You almost got us involved! Be lucky the family of that boy didn't press charges on us, or else, you, Charlotte, and Sammy might have ended up in foster care!" The mother of the Emily family shouted, wiping her tears with her arm.
"I'm a bit proud of standing up for your little sister, but I'm also disappointed." Henry said, patting Lincoln as he hung his head down low. "It's alright, kiddo, don't be sad, it's those boys' fault."
"Well…" Valerie said. "We'll talk about this at the dinner table, tonight…"
Lincoln nodded, and walked off to his classroom.
Class went on as usual, the same boring ones where you stay in your classroom doing absolutely nothing sitting in your desk but listen to your teacher explain the basics of each subject. Mathematics, History, Science, you name it, spending 8 hours in your classroom doing nothing.
Lincoln put his hand under his chin. He was bored as he listened to his teacher's explanation on the board, the 11-year-old Loud was fiddling with his pencil, drawing nothing but lines on his paper.
Lunchtime…
The cafeteria was busy as students go to and fro with food trays in hand, coming in and leaving at different intervals.
Michael and his friends were seated together in a table, they were peacefully eating. After they were finished, they left the cafeteria. Lincoln was talking to Cassidy and Fritz, about what happened last time.
"I got chewed out by Mrs. Emily, I mean, Aunt Valerie last time…" Lincoln said.
"Why?" Fritz said. "Did you do something that caused her ire?"
"Well, she lectured me on getting into violent fights like what happened on Sunday." The 11-year-old Loud said.
"It has been the talk of the town." Cassidy said. "I even saw it on newspapers like this one." She held up a newspaper containing info about the fight that happened on Sunday.
"She's just looking out for you." The orange-haired boy said.
He chuckled. "Yeah…"
Later…
They were back in their classroom, spending the next 4 hours doing nothing but writing notes in their notebooks. The sound of the ceiling fan was the only sound heard in the room, the students chattering, too.
Lincoln was writing notes on his notebook, when Clyde called out to him.
"Lincoln?" Clyde whispered. "Lincoln?'
"What?" Asked the 11-year-old.
"When's home time?"
"It's a long way, Clyde…perhaps, we might need to wait a few more hours…"
"OK."
They spent few more hours copying their notes, once some of them were finished, they drifted off to sleep. As the clock ticked, it was already 1 minute to home time. As the bell sounded, the students headed out of their classroom and into the bus.
Later that night…
Lana and Lola secretly sneaked up on the window of the Emily residence. Once they saw Lincoln, they slightly dove out of view.
Valerie was the first to talk. "Give me one, good, reason, why you were involved in that fight…"
"Well…" Lincoln replied. "I was walking alone in the park, and…"
"What happened?" Sammy asked.
"Sammy." Henry said, sternly. "Let Lincoln talk. Don't ask questions."
"Alright…" Said the 8-year-old, as he munched on his food.
"Chandler and his friends came and started laughing at me, I head out of the park but one of his cronies block me and the others grabbed my arms and pinned me to a tree."
"Then?" The Emily mother asked.
"Chandler grabbed some acorns from the tree. Confused, I ask him what the absolute hell he was doing, and he said that he was going to give me my daily feeding. I told him to get those acorns away from me, but he told me to stop being a little bitch and eat my lunch!"
Hearing that made Charlotte and Sammy very angry, how dare someone does a thing like that to Lincoln? They would track down that person and do something very bad to him/her.
"How dare they?!" Sammy thought, he gripped his fork tight in his hand.
"Told you it was those boys' fault…" Henry replied, rolling his eyes.
Valerie was very mad, as she knitted her brows in a V-shape, and smiled with her right eye twitching. "What. Else. Did. They. Do?"
"I bit at Chandler's fingers, and he ordered one of his cronies to hold my mouth open. He was going to dump a load of acorns into my mouth, and when something hit him in the face, he dropped the acorns."
"That's enough information I'll get from you." The Emily mother said, keeping her angry smile.
Lola and Lana quickly ran away back to their house.
Bedtime…
In the master bedroom, the lights were off, but the lamps in the room were on. Henry was reading a novel, until Valerie came into their bedroom in her pajamas.
"Henry?" She asked.
"What seems to be the problem, darling?" He answered, turning his blue eyes to meet his wife.
"Do you think that there's something concerning with Lincoln?" Valerie asked, the worry was present in her gray eyes.
"Well, for one, he didn't tell us the whole story of him getting involved in all of the ass-kissing that happened on Sunday." Henry said, closing his novel.
"I think something might be seriously wrong with him." The mother of the Emily said.
"We'll talk to him first thing in the morning." Said the father of the Emily family.
"OK." She gave a small smile.
Henry and Valerie shared a small kiss on the lips, and slept while hugging each other.
The next day at the Loud residence…
The sisters who haven't found out about Lincoln's location were all talking at the same time.
"He's at Mr. and Mrs. Emily's house?!" Luan said, shocked.
"Yeah…" Said Lola. "What's the matter?"
"They're a bit strict when it comes to believing false hoo-hah such as bad luck…" Lynn Jr. said.
At the Emily residence…
The Emily family and Lincoln were at the breakfast table, they were eating their breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon, and pancakes.
Henry was the first to talk. "So…Lincoln, why were you involved in all of the ass-kissing that happened on Sunday?"
"Yes, I am…" Lincoln said. "I'm going to tell the continuation of my story yesterday…"
"Alright, tell us…" Valerie said.
"Alright, it all started when a rock hit Chandler's face, he fell to the ground and dropped the tree nuts, a big rock hit another one of his cronies, the boy with partially shaved hair and a red hoodie, and the other got hit by a rock also."
"What happened next?" Asked Charlotte.
"The fattest kid in the group used himself as a shield to defend Chandler and two more of his cronies, and that's where it started, they took Lola's tiara, and started teasing her."
"Then?" Henry asked.
"Michael, his siblings, and Robert arrived to the rescue, they helped me, and when I saw it, Chandler and his henchmen teasing her, my little sister…I…I just lost it when they did it, I beat them up with a dead branch…it wasn't just Michael, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Robert, weren't the only witnesses though, Stephanie, Elijah, Jamie, and Cindy too…" Lincoln said.
"You're…" Sammy said, scared. "You're not going to do that to me and Charlie, right?"
"What? No, of course not!" Lincoln replied.
Sammy gave Lincoln a hug, which warmed the hearts of Henry, Valerie, and Charlotte.
"OK, everybody get ready, we have school and work to do." Lincoln said, smiling a little, much to Sammy's happiness.
