Resident Evil Modern Warfare II: Operation Deadbolt

Chapter 6

"Kapitan Sergei Ravenov. Personal Log. Perhaps I should stop saying that rank. It was stripped from me long ago. I have been many things since I left Spetznaz. informant. Traitor. Requiem operator. Mob enforcer. Instrument of revenge...slayer of monsters. Decades have passed. The world transformed. And yet here we are again. At least this time, we had a plan in place. Operation Deadbolt came together overnight. My colleagues seem capable enough, even if they do not trust me. And why should they? But there is already so much for them to absorb. My story can wait until they are ready. I can only hope this is my last dance with darkness. I just don't know how many more monsters I can slay."

Early the next morning.

"Cease fire!" shouts Miller.

Ravenov was at the firing range as Soap and Jill join him.

"Quite a steady hand for a man your age. What age is that again?" asked Soap.

"Where I come from Sergeant MacTavish, it is rude to ask that question."

"Fair enough. But where I come from, we like to know the man fighting beside us."

"What it it you would like to know then?"

"Range is hot!" shouts Miller as gunfire was heard.

"Cease fire!" she shouts.

"Perhaps we should start with what I know about you. Youngest SAS selection in British Army history. Handpicked for Task Force 141. Deployed on countless classified operations. Hightly decorated, highly regarded *chuckles* and apparently a damn good shot."

"See that's funny. You know all that, and the only thing I know about you is that you don't fucking exist."

"We are soldierss, no? Surely this is not the first time you have fought alongside someone who does not exist?"

"Jill isn't a soldier." said Soap.

"No? Correct me if I am wrong but you served in the United States Army in the early nineties since you were 18 until you were 23 Jill? Becoming the first woman to be recruited, trained and operate with Delta Force exceptional at bomb disposal and lockpicking. Left the Army to pursue law enforcement with RPD Special Tactics and Rescue Service." said Ravenov.

"How? How do you know that?"

"Steamin Jesus. Lt. was right?" adds Soap.

"Ah, so I am correct with my assessment. Allow me to continue. In 1998 there was the Spencer Estate incident as you were betrayed by your Alpha Team leader Albert Wesker. Months later after suspension by police chief, Umbrella Corporation sent a monster to kill you and remaining S.T.A.R.S members as witnesses to cover up their misdeeds as they caused the outbreak in Raccoon City. 2005 you and Chris Redfield founded the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance to counter these outbreaks and attacks. One year later you were presumed dead for 3 years. Fast forward to 2015 you return to the field for an outbreak on Alcatraz Island to contain it. Then there was 2023. You, Chris Redfield along with your Hound Wolf Squad join forces with Task Force 141 to stop Makarov's plans with Nova 6 bioweapon in Al Mazrah."

Jill only stood in silence baffled at how this stranger knew all this information.

"I take your silence as me being right on the money." said Ravenov.

"Can't confirm nor deny that...Fine. You keep your secrets...I don't need 'em."

"Why are you both here then Sergeant?"

"Stayin' sharp. Same as you."

"Da? The I supposed you would not refuse a little friendly competition , eh?"

"Depends on what you got in mind?" asked Soap.

"Five rounds. Tightest grouping. Loser owes the winner a bottle of whatever I saw you and Jill drinking last night."

"Scotch"

"Of course...you afraid Sergeant?" asked Ravenov.

"Another thing you should know about me...I don't know the meaning of that word. Say when old man.."

"Actually, I want in on this bet" said Jill.

The three took aim to line up their shots.

"Range is hot!" shouts Miller.
