Avenging Angel

Chapter 18

Lucy sat up after she caught her breath. If that was what he did to her, she could only imagine what happened to Angela. She looked over and Angela was still laying on the table and hopefully sleeping. She couldn't tell if she had woken up and was just staying silent or if she was still out. Lucy could tell that she was bruised and that her back was going to be sore for awhile. She sat quietly hoping Angela could sleep. She knew her friends were coming. She thought about them momentarily. She thought about John and how he always made jokes and kept everyone laughing. She thought about Harper and how close they had gotten recently. Then she thought of Tim. She loved him so much it hurt. She knew he would never get over it if anything happened to Angela. Tim was going to burn Elijah's world to the ground. He and Wesley would make sure that Elijah was never a problem again. She was interrupted from her musings by a muffled moan. Angela must be waking up. At least she had a small reprieve from this nightmare.

"Lucy?!", she said frantically.

"I'm fine. I'm over here now."

"Oh thank God."

"Ang are you really OK?"

"I'm fine. We have to find a way out of here."

Angela looked over to see where Lucy was. She didn't know that she had been moved. She realized that Lucy could fully see her now. Embarrassment flooded her face. Lucy just watched her. She wasn't trying to embarrass the woman any further. She turned away in hopes that Angela would look back to her and speak so that they could make a plan. She did. Angela turned back over. She looked around the room to see if there was a way out. She spotted something on the floor just out of arms reach of Lucy.

"Oh my god, Lucy look."

Lucy looked at what she had been talking about. She saw it. The needle that Elijah had thrown on the floor. She couldn't reach it. She could however, use her hands to take off her shoes. Once the shoe was off, she moved her foot out towards the object. It was so close. She reached a little more, feeling all the pain in her back from the fall. She finally reached just enough that she was able to wrap her toes around the syringe. She took note that it still had some liquid in it. She got the syringe into her hand and proceeded to pick the handcuff lock, working hard not to accidentally stab herself with the needle. Once she freed one arm, she got up as quickly as she could with pain shooting down her back. Angela noticed the painful look to her walk. She quickly undid the straps on the table avoiding looking at Angela's bare skin. Angela shot up to a sitting position. As she sat up, she quickly tried to cover her chest to no avail.

"I won't look."

"Lucy I need you to hide that needle somewhere close but hidden. Just in case we can't get out of this room. We have to start looking."

Lucy quickly hid the needle under the table by stabbing the point into the wood. She noticed Angela grabbing her wrists and wringing them due to the immobility they had experienced. Angela watched as Lucy walked slowly around the room in obvious pain. She winced every time the woman took a step.

"What happened?", Angela finally managed.

"I could ask you the same."

"Duly noted. Won't ask again."

"That's not what I meant Ang. I just wanted to know if you were OK."

"I'm fine. Let's find a way out of here.", Angela said quickly turning away from her and looking for a way out.
