I, of course, do not own SLOTAT or any of the characters. Simply carrying out the story that was left wit such an awful ending.

Takes place after Amy leaves for New York.

Amy boarded the flight from New York to California for the first time since leaving three weeks ago. It had been a long and busy three weeks. She barely had time to settle into her apartment before classes began. Thanks to Leo Boykowich, the apartment was fully furnished. Even a room in the two bedroom apartment was set up for John. She missed John terribly and was beyond excited to return home to visit with him for the 4 day weekend.

Ben followed her onto the plane. Despite living in the same building, she hadn't seen much of him since the first week. Typical Ben had found a new interest, a girl named Bebe. They seemed to have hit it off and Amy hadn't heard from him much. Despite this, she knew that he would be on this flight home, it was Leo's private jet after all.

"Excited to head back?" Ben asked Amy, taking his seat next to her.

Amy didn't know how to respond. She was excited to see John. She FaceTimed him everyday, often multiple times a day. She was less excited to see Ricky. They hadn't talked outside of John since she left.

"Yeah, of course. I miss John." She replied.

"I know. I hear you crying through the floor after you talk to him daily." He looked a little uncomfortable having admitted it. "I wasn't sure if I should check on you or not. You made it pretty clear the day we arrived you didn't want to talk to me…"

Flash back

"Leave me alone!" Amy screamed as she opened the door to reveal Ben for the 5th time that day. Amy was standing there in her pajamas. Her eyes were red and puffy, she had obviously been crying.

Ben opened his mouth to talk but Amy cut him off.

"No! Ben, I don't want to hear it. I didn't come to Hudson University to follow you. I didn't come here to get away from Ricky and John. I don't want you. I don't want you as a friend, I don't want you as a boyfriend, I don't even want to see you. Find someone else to obsess about." She choked out the last words before shutting the door in Ben's face.

"I just wanted to see if you wanted dinner…" Ben whispered to the closed door. Seeing Amy so distraught broke Ben's heart. He never wanted this to happen. He did… but he didn't want Amy to be so hurt in the process.

He shrugged his shoulders and left the building.

When classes had started the following day, Ben met Bebe. Just like with Amy and Dylan, Ben was completely smitten with her at first look. Their relationship had quickly progressed in the short time that he had been in New York. She was already spending the nights at the apartment and they had made it very obvious that they were already intimate with each other.

"I don't know, Ben. I don't know if I made the right choice." She sighed as she leaned against the window. The plane roared in acceleration as it took off into the night sky.

"I'm sorry Amy. I shouldn't have gotten involved with you and Ricky. It was never about me. It should have been about John." Ben grabbed her hand and held it, clearly sincere in his apology. "I only wish I had noticed sooner."

"And what made you come to that conclusion?" Amy asked, pulling her hand out of Ben's.

"Bebe." Ben smiled even at the mention of her name. "You know, she's been really good for me. Not like Adrian or Dylan or even you. She really wants me to do well in school and do well in the world. Adrian, well I love her, but she's just a friend. Dylan… Dylan was just bad news. Fun but just making terrible decisions."

"And me?" Amy asked. She half wanted to know the answer and half did not.

"You? Infatuation? You were completely unattainable. You were never really mine. Even when we dated, Ricky was at the center of our relationship and after him John. We never really stood a chance. I guess I wanted what I couldn't have. Instead of finding something I could."

"Bebe has changed you." Amy smiled at him. "For the better."

"She has… just like you changed Ricky."
