The Fairy Tail guild hall was unusually peaceful that afternoon. Mirajane was humming as she wiped down the bar, Gray was in the middle of a heated stripping competition with Elfman (who was adamant that this time he would win), and Erza was calmly polishing her swords with a peaceful smile on her face.

But then, a storm rolled in. Not from the skies above, but from the fiery heart of one Natsu Dragneel.

"LUUUCY!" Natsu's voice boomed as he kicked open the guild doors with such force that they nearly flew off their hinges. The entire guild turned to see him, eyes blazing, storming in like a dragon about to lay waste to a village.

"WHAT?!" Lucy Heartfilia's voice answered from upstairs. A second later, she appeared at the top of the stairs, her fists clenched, and her hair looking like she had just rolled out of bed (which she likely had, given Natsu's tendency to drag her out of her apartment for early morning missions).

The tension in the air was palpable. Jaws dropped, drinks were spilled, and someone in the corner even muttered, "We're doomed…"

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THAT, LUCY!" Natsu roared, marching up to the bottom of the stairs, looking up at her with the fury of a thousand burning suns.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THAT, NATSU!" Lucy shouted back, descending the stairs like an avenging angel of anger.

"DON'T YOU TRY TO TURN THIS AROUND ON ME! THIS IS YOUR FAULT!"

"MY FAULT?! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO ATE ALL MY RENT MONEY!"

"I WAS HUNGRY! AND IT WAS IN THE FORM OF COOKIES!"

"IT WAS IN MY WALLET!"

"YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE LEFT IT ON THE TABLE!"

"I WAS GONE FOR TWO MINUTES TO GRAB MY KEYS!"

"WELL, MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T KEEP YOUR KEYS SO FAR AWAY!"

The entire guild was now frozen in place, watching the fiery exchange with wide eyes. Even Erza had stopped polishing her swords and was eyeing the scene with the same caution one would reserve for an incoming tidal wave.

"I HAD TO GO BEG MIRAJANE TO GIVE ME FOOD ON CREDIT BECAUSE SOME PINK-HAIRED DUST MOP ATE EVERYTHING I HAD!"

Natsu growled, his fists flaming up. "DON'T CALL ME A DUST MOP, YOU DAMSEL IN DISTRESS!"

"DON'T CALL ME A DAMSEL, YOU FIRE-BREATHING IDIOT!"

A gasp rippled through the guild. "She didn't…" whispered Jet, eyes wide.

"She did…" confirmed Droy, shaking his head in disbelief.

Natsu looked like he was about to burst into flames (literally). "WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?!"

"YOU HEARD ME!" Lucy wasn't backing down. "AND ANOTHER THING—STOP BREAKING INTO MY APARTMENT! I NEED PERSONAL SPACE!"

"PERSONAL SPACE?!" Natsu yelled back. "YOU NEVER HAD A PROBLEM BEFORE! IT'S HOW I SAY GOOD MORNING!"

"WELL, STOP SAYING GOOD MORNING TO ME LIKE THAT!"

"FINE!"

"GOOD!"

The guild held its breath as the two glared at each other, chests heaving with anger. It was as if the world itself had paused, waiting to see what would happen next. Even the normally fearless Happy was hiding behind Carla, peeking out with one eye, his tiny wings quivering.

And then, suddenly, Natsu and Lucy turned away from each other with a simultaneous, "HMPH!"

The guild collectively sighed in relief. Maybe the world wasn't ending after all.

But before anyone could fully relax, Natsu spun around again. "AND ANOTHER THING—"

"WHAT?!" Lucy whirled back around, ready for round two.

"YOUR COOKIES WERE DELICIOUS!"

"THANK YOU! I WORKED REALLY HARD ON THEM!"

"WELL, YOU SHOULD MAKE MORE!"

"WELL, MAYBE I WILL, BUT YOU CAN'T EAT THEM ALL!"

"I'LL EAT AS MANY AS I WANT!"

"NO, YOU WON'T!"

"Yes, I will!"

"No, you won't!"

"Yes, I—"

"SHUT UP!" Erza's voice cut through the argument like a hot knife through butter. The redhead stood up, her aura of sheer intimidation finally snapping the two out of their ridiculous squabble. "BOTH OF YOU, SIT DOWN!"

Natsu and Lucy froze mid-argument, eyes wide. Slowly, they complied, sitting at the nearest table like two scolded children. The guild held its breath again, waiting for what Erza would say next.

She looked at them both, her eyes narrowing. "Now… apologize."

Lucy and Natsu exchanged a sheepish glance. "Sorry…" they mumbled in unison, neither quite meeting the other's eye.

The guild finally exhaled. Peace, it seemed, had been restored… for now.

"Can't believe that's what they were fighting about," Gray muttered to himself, shaking his head as he started to pick up his clothes again.

Mirajane giggled from behind the bar. "Well, it's just Natsu and Lucy being Natsu and Lucy."

Happy fluttered over, landing on the table next to Natsu. "So, are you really going to make more cookies, Lucy?"

"Yeah, Lucy!" Natsu grinned, his mood already flipping back to his usual cheery self. "Make more cookies!"

Lucy shot him a glare, but there was no real heat in it anymore. "Fine. But if you touch them before I say so, I swear I'll—"

"I'll wait, I'll wait!" Natsu raised his hands defensively, but the grin never left his face.

The guild erupted into laughter, the tension evaporating as quickly as it had appeared. The world wasn't ending. It was just another day in Fairy Tail.
