Kakashi thought, waiting for his exuberant side to come out. Sakura, resident fangirl, did her usual crap. "Forget the exam. Sasuke deserves the position. They should just give him the rank." Still making that stupid face, Kakashi spoke up again. "I need three votes or you won't be able to take the exam. I got one. Sasuke what do you think?" I already knew the jackass was going to say yes. He is a s predictable as Kakashi when he is supposed to be in a meeting. "Looks like it's down to you Naruto." " No." Jaws hit the floor. Did they really think I was going to say yes? After all I had heard about this exam. People died doing this. "Could you repeat that?' the dumbass said, exposed eye wide. Naruto glared at him. "I said no. I'm not gonna do it. No way." the blonde responded. " I want to be hokage. I am not going to risk my life doing something I am not ready for." As usual Sakura rage monkeyed. "JUST SIGN THE PAPERS NARUTO!" Naruto just shook his head and started to walk away. Now it was Sasuke's turn to speak up. "Where are you going? You're not going to keep me from getting my promotion. As the last Uchiha I demand you sign the papers loser!" In an uncharacteristic move Naruto didn't yell or even respond. He just kept walking, thinking about what training he should do. Kakashi Body Flickered in front of Naruto to stop him. The glare on Naruto's face said that he REALLY wanted to punch the man. "Where are you going Naruto? I didn't call this meeting to an end yet." The Uzumaki sneered at him. "And why should I stick around? No body is listening to me, like always, and trying to force me to do something I don't want to do, so I am going to make this very clear. Haruno, your weak. You have no taijutsu, ninjutsu, or genjutsu abilities. You do no type of workout and you don't even eat properly for a ninja." Normally she would have snapped on him for what he said, but her brain was stuck on the fact that he was right. With the more vain portion of her brain realizing his use of her last name instead of the usual Sakura-chan. Turning away from her, he focused on Sasuke. " You are strong. Hell, you may actually be Chunin level with all your skills. But your attitude is way too shitty. As a Chunin you get higher ranked missions with diplomats and other important people. What would you do if you saw your brother in the middle of a job? Abandon the client? Possibly let your team die?" Sasuke glared at the blonde but didn't say anything cause he never actually thought about that. Turning to walk away again, Naruto felt Kakashi's hand on his shoulder. "I think y'all are ready. I have faith in all of you." Naruto grabbed Kakashi's glove between two fingers like it's a bio hazard and removed it from his body. The cold tone of voice that the boy used didn't match the boy's usual exuberant personality. None of this did, but this was something else entirely. "Your faith doesn't mean shit in the face of possible death! And with my lack of any of the same skills Sakura doesn't with the exception of taijutsu, which I might add is nothing more than street brawling, and you think your faith will be enough to get us through an exam where well trained people could be out to kill us." the boy said, showing some serious anger. "well guess what? Your faith is misplaced and it's all your fault. You only taught the Uchiha and didn't teach Haruno or myself any useful skills. Didn't correct anything we were doing wrong. Just focused on teamwork, missions, and Sasuke. Fact is you're a great ninja. You made it to Jounin for shits sake. However that doesn't equate to teaching. For that, YOU aren't ready." Kakashi was furious now. "I will have you brought up on insubordination for that." The white haired shinobi threatened . Sasuke smirked, thinking the blonde has done it now ."Go ahead and do it Kakashi-sensei! He deserves it for talking to Sasuke-kun and I like that CHA! Inner Sakura said. To they're surprise the boy just laughed. "Go ahead! Boss is already speaking with the Hokage right now. He wants off this team and either has told him about your favortism and lack of training or is telling him right now. He even asked Yamanaka-san to search his memories and corroborate his story." The clone said. 'I wonder what how he is going to spin this when he gets my memories." Then, with a fox like grin on his face the clone dispelled.
The Hokage Tower Naruto was furious. He just got his clones memories and wanted to strangle the bastard. While he wasn't good at theory and strategizing, he was not as dumb as people seem to think he is. Having noticed the look Naruto had on his face. 'What happened?" Covering his face the boy answered. "I sent a clone to the team meeting we were to have this morning. He had the nerve to ask us if we wanted to join the Chunin Exams. The clone told him no. Haruno then started her usual bullshit and Uchiha tried to use his clan status to force me into signing up. It told them why he wasn't ready. Why they weren't ready and told Kakashi that he wasn't ready to be a teacher." the old man facepalmed hearing that." he told the clone he was going to bring me up on charges of insubordination." Inoichi would have laughed if it wasn't so dire a situation. Sarutobi lit his pipe, telling the others in the room that at least Kakashi would be on his way they should just wait for them. Inoichi had done his job so he excused himself. As he walked out the door he had a smirk on his face. He knew more than either himself nor the other blonde had told him. He knew when it finally came out it was going to change everything. A few moments after Inoichi walked out the door, 3/4 of Team 7 walked in. Deciding a nonchalant attitude was the way to go Sarutobi calmly asked what they wanted. After listening to them tell him what happened he sat back in his chair and let his killing intent flood the room. Even the three ANBU started to shake in fear. "So what your telling me is that you all think I should punish Naruto for speaking his mind and telling the truth. Well that's not going to happen. Here is what is going to happen. Since Naruto has the inside information on this matter I am going to leave it to him." Sarutobi said. Kakashi bristled. "You are going to leave our fates in the hands of a 15 year old! That should not be allowed." The old man snapped at that. "Neither should be favortism but there seems to be a lot of that going one way when it comes to you. Since you are the adult and screwed it up I'm allowing him to handle it. All eyes turned to him but he ignored that to talk with Yukina. 'what are you thinking?' HE asked her. 'Just separate yourself and your crush from him. Let him keep the Uchiha, so he cannot steal you hard work with that pink eye of his.' She turned to the reader. 'He should know better than to put his face in a strippers ass.' On the outside Naruto sweat dropped at that line. "Kakashi can keep training the thief. I don't want them around Haruno or myself trying to steal our hard work for themselves." Sakura chose this moment to yell. "NARUTO-BAKA YOUR JUST TRYING TO GET ME AWAY FROM MY SASUKE-KUN! NO! I WON'T ALLOW IT!" Picking up where his clone left off he yelled back. "DID YOU NOT HEAR ANYTHING MY CLONE SAID! ONE EYE ISN'T PUTTING IN ANY EFFORT TO TRAINING US! JUST US! YES I WANT TO GET YOU AWAY FROM THEM. BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT YOU THAT DAMN MUCH! SO MUCH I AM WILLING TO THROW AWAY ANY CHANCE I HAVE WITH YOU TO GET YOU THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO SURVIVE THE OCCUPATION YOU CHOSE!" Eyes wide all Sakura could do was stare. But neither I nor you have the skills necessary to prevent that. And with him as our sensei, we would never get them." The room was so silent you could hear the smallest pin hit the floor. Looking at Naruto's crying face she thought about everything that happened today. Everything she'd heard. Naruto was doing all of this for her? She knew he was including himself but he wasn't leaving her out. Unbidden by her, her thoughts then traveled to the Wave Mission. She did nothing but hit disrespect Naruto fangirl over Sasuke and stand around Tazuna the bridge builder they were supposed to protect. She remembered thinking Sasuke was dead and something Naruto said clicked. He was getting personal training from Kakashi- sensei and still almost got killed by Haku an enemy that uses an ice Kekkei Genkai. 'If Haku hadn't held back Sasuke would be dead. As most likely would Naruto. So I definitely wouldn't have survived as I am now. Naruto is right.' She thought. Of course her Inner Self had to speak up right then. 'Awe! That is so sweet! "So who are you going to get to train the both of you?" he asked, hoping for some information that he could take advantage of to try and correct his mistake. "I don't know that yet. I was kind of put on the spot here. But that doesn't matter to you. That is for Sakura and I to decide on. With the Hokage's permission of course.. Naruto said. "But that we will talk about tomorrow." Turning to the familiar chakra in the corner he spoke to the ANBU in the corner. "Neko. Will you please give Sakura-chan a basic workout plan so she can start building up her physical strength and stamina? Sakura-chan you should start on that today. Tomorrow we will work out a sensei for us and I'll do the workout with you." Sakura just nodded. After taking the paper with her workout written on it she walked out the door, followed by Kakashi and Sasuke. Kakashi was told to report tomorrow for disciplinary action. Turning to the readers Yukina said ' Cliffhanger alert! Author had no idea how to end this chapter so he decided to end it with a bomb.' "Your turn Jiji, I got a bone to pick with you too." Sarutobi sighed thinking on the earlier glare. 'I knew that was meant for me. Shit!
