Chapter 8: Taking Tour in the City Part 2
12:00 PM
At Anti-Skill headquarters. Aiho and Tsuzuri were giving a tour of the office to Lahara's group.
Gajeel was a little unimpressed with the machines. "These machines are called computers. Looks like scrap metal." A purse hit the iron dragon slayer on the head. "Be nice, I must admit their technology is quite interesting," Levy said politely.
Lily was looking around. "These machines should have important information about things that happened."
Primo's robotic eye was scanning the area. "Looks like the machines are in good shape. Should be no problem checking them."
Lahara adjusted her glasses. "Aiho, could you or Tsuzuri do a favor for us?"
"What is it?" Aiho asked.
At Tokiwadai Middle School.
Kikyou arrived to picked up the dragon girl and took her in her vehicle.
Wendy felt worried about the girl. "I hope she'll be alright." Carla smiled. "Child, don't worry about her, she'll be fine."
"Ahem..." The Head supervisor cleared her throat. "Now that's over, we should start our conversation." They went to the main room. "So, what classes do you want to partake in?"
Wendy thought of this a bit. "I like to join the swimming club and Equestrian Combat Club." The head supervisor was surprised. "Only two clubs, why is that?" The young dragon slayer wondered how to answer, so, she took a deep breath before she replied. "Honestly, I probably won't be here for long, I'm not sure how long, but, I will treasure the clubs I'll join and I hope to make friends in those clubs too." The head supervisor lady looked at her for a minute before she adjusted her classes. "I see, very well, then you shall start those clubs, Monday-to-Friday is when they're on. I shall make a sheet when to be there." Wendy bowed her head. "Thank you very much and if it's not too much trouble, can Carla join too?"
The head supervisor looked at the white cat. "I don't allow pets to be the clubs, but, I'll overlook this once." Carla still didn't like to be called "pet".
"Anyway, since you have a good habit of helping people, I would like to ask for a favor." The head supervisor said looking a bit serious making the young blue-haired girl nervous.
At a garden-themed cafe, Kuroko, Saten, and Uiharu gathered at the table. They ordered two pepperoni pizzas and herbal tea.
Uiharu was checking out the news on the laptop. "So far, we got news of the fish creature sighting and the mysterious crash site at the bridge."
Kuroko scoffed. "Please, for all we know this creature sighting is nothing more than a prank." Satan thought otherwise. "I might not know the family, but, they didn't seem like they were pranking anyone."
"Either way, we find out if there have been any new reports." Uiharu scrolled down on the computer and found it unusual. "What's this one?" She read it for a minute. "This seems interesting."
Wendy walks through the hallway with Carla.
F
"Our top student Misaka Mikoto has been a bit depressed lately after she made a trip." The head supervisor explained. "I don't much about the details, but, according to the details from her roommate Kuroko, she said a teenage boy Misaka is indebted to disappeared and hasn't seen him since."
Wendy felt bad for the middle school girl. "I'm sorry to hear that." The head supervisor adjusted her glasses. "Yes, so, I was hoping you could try to cheer her up since you have a talent for helping people." Wendy was unsure how to help a girl that depressed over a teenage boy, but, she wasn't going to turn down this favor. "If you want my help, I would be glad to."
F
"Child, I know you want to help this Misaka person, but, what can you do?" Carla asked.
Wendy had an uncertain look on her face but just smiled. "Not sure, but, I'll do what I can to cheer her up." Carla was expecting that kind of answer and smiled at her best friend. "Well, either way, I'm with you all the way."
Misaka was unexpectedly up and got in her school uniform. "I can't just mope around all day." She went to her door and opened it but felt something hit it. "Ow..."
"What was that?" Misaka carefully pushed the door open and saw a white cat with a red bump on her head. "I'm so sorry I didn't know you were behind the door!" Wendy giggled. "It's alright." The brown-haired teenager saw the cat. "Is that cat?" She felt the urge to make a cutesy face despite the cat wasn't Gekota.
"Anyway, I'm here to help you, the head supervisor wanted me to help you get back on your feet. She was worried about you." Misaka was surprised to hear that, but, she knew the head supervisor was a nice person despite her strict and scary behavior.
"Well, I'm planning stroll around the city, if you want to come, that's okay." Misaka offered. Wendy smiled. "We'd enjoy that."
M
Natsu's group left the fast food restaurant and continued their stroll through the city until they arrived at a certain park(Where the vending machines are).
"This is a nice park," Lucy said admiring the trees.
Elfman pumped his arms. "Yeah, such manly trees!"
Juvia giggled as she hugged Gray's arm. "Yeah, especially when you're with your loved one!" Gray felt utterly awkward. "Not again!"
Cana had the same idea. "I get that idea," She hugged Touma's arm surprising him as his face went beet red. "Huh?" The boy exclaimed.
Bonk
"Don't be creepy!" Lucy groaned as her fist emitted heat.
"Ow..." Cana had a red lump on her head.
Touma then approached the vending machine. "I could use a drink." He put a coin inside but nothing happened. "Not now." He put a coin in, but nothing happened. "No...no...no...no..."
"Let me try," Erza delivered a strong punch to the side destroying the side and leaving the others in awe and disbelief. "Oops, I forgot to hold back."
Touma facepalmed. "Oh no, rotten luck!"
"No, we're dead if the police find out about this!" Lucy comically whined.
At the Aiho's apartment
Accelerator and Last Order. "About time we go home."
"Yeah, we missed home, "Says Misaka Misaka jumping with joy after the long trip to Russia"." Last Order chimed excitedly.
Usagi was in his room until he felt a strong power presence while the other he sensed that was different from the one he was strongly sensing. "Looks like Aiho's kids arrived." He stood on the floor transforming into a human.
Back at the park.
From afar was Misaka 10032, who was looking through binoculars. "It looks like the savior is with some new people. Says Misaka noticing the group of people that sister's crush is with"." She chanted with an emotionless expression. Natsu's nose caught an unfamiliar scene as he turned in the direction of trees. "Who is that?" The clone sister saw this and quickly fled the park.
"What is it, Natsu?" Lucy asked.
Natsu didn't look at the blonde. "Not sure, but, I think someone was watching us."
Touma was sitting on the bench feeling stressed. "Man, being a tour guide is not all cracked up to be." He sighed.
"Don't worry, we'll pay for a new one," Erza said feeling bad for her rash action.
"You guys, we're going to walk around for a while," Juvia gleamed as she dragged Gray away by wrapping her arms around him.
"S-sure, don't go far away," Erza called out.
Touma was looking at Happy. "That's an unusual cat from what I've seen so far." He had thought to occur to him. "Now that I think about it, he didn't even meow, not at least once." The blue cat noticed the teenage boy looking at him suspiciously.
Back at the underground lab.
The large tanks had Hordy Jones and his crew.
Deliora(Reborn)was observing their condition. "Their youth is almost restored. Though it's only at 65%, their condition had a drug within them so from the looks of things. It'll take a few more days for their youth to return."
"What about Irene's clone?" Nikka appeared behind the other demon, who looked back. "Nikka...it's you. Well, she'll be ready in two days, I believe."
Kouta was in the room where Dimaria and Brandish were being held. "..." He looked at his hand seemingly having a look of regret. Images of Maria flashed into his mind. "You know what, Kouta?"
"What, Maria?"
"Someday, I want to create a world where families and friends can smile and play together."
"Sounds like a dream, but, I would love to see it."
"I know we can create together."
"It's been over 130 years since we wanted to make that dream a reality." He thought clenching his hand tightly. "Not sure if this plan will bring us to our dream, but, at any cost, it must."
Maria was in another dark room where a large tanker was bigger than the others she spread her arms apart. "Master, we shall bring Academy City to its knees and restore the world to its righteous one. I plan to make it at any cost!" A faint shadowy figure was seen with glowing purple eyes. "Yes...take revenge...and your dream will be a reality!"
The other clone was walking in the hallway and wearing a cloak with a hood. "..." The figure lowered their head looking at the floor.
Back at the garden theme cafe.
Uiharu was strolling around an old article known as "The Black Wizard". Kuroko was skeptical about the old article. "What is important about this old folktale?"
"It says "Over 130 years ago, a so-called wizard arrived in Academy City doing some projects within the city"." Uiharu read out loud. "The wizard's name isn't known, but, the reports say that he was working creating artificial beings"."
Satan was more intrigued than ever. "Artifical beings, what kind?" Uiharu was about to continue until Kuroko laughed. "Artifical beings, as creating creatures from scrap or something. Oh please, that sounds ridiculous like something from a manga." Uiharu was a bit offended. "Perhaps it does sound like something from a manga, but, regardless, it sounds like this wizard wasn't a joke or whatever project he was doing."
"Either way, this isn't the time to go on some wild goose chase about an old folktale," Kuroko remarked with seriousness in her tone. "Find an article that shows if that Kamijou guy is alive."
Uiharu sighed not wanting to argue with her pigtailed friend. "Fine then." She exited the article she was reading and scrolled down for another look for anything else.
Just then an alarm was heard from afar. "What is that the vending alarm?" Uiharu asked.
"At a time like this," Satan said a little surprised.
Kuroko had an idea who was probably there. "Could it be her?" She stood from her seat. "You two continue your search on the laptop, I'll be right back." With that, she teleported away.
"Geez, Shirai didn't like legends so far," Uiharu grumbled with puffed cheeks. Satan just chuckled. "Well, that's Kuroko for ya, she doesn't have imagination. Anyway, let's get back to looking at this article."
Uiharu nodded and looked at the article more scrolling down. "Hmm, it reads here that someone leaked the information about this creature project to the public alerting the higher-ups."
B
Natsu's group decided to relax at the park.
Touma was sitting on the bench sipping water while Cana sat next to him drinking ginger ale. "It's not boozes, but, it'll have to do."
Natsu and Happy were sitting under a tree taking a nap.
Lucy was looking around the area. "Wow, the park is amazing and beautiful, especially on a sunny day." Her thought on Brandish came to her and her relaxing moment was replaced with concern. "Brandish..." Gray and Juvia were in another area looking at the blue sky. Gray would feel awkward as he usually does, but, this time his time with Juvia was making him realize that he might have feelings for the water mage after all. At least that's what he thinks.
Erza was having a cherry soda. "Gulp...gulp." She smiled. "This drink is amazing."
"Hey, this judgment!" A voice rang out, and Touma recognized the voice. "It's her." He thought.
There was Kuroko Shirai. "I'm here to investigate an alarm that went off!" She saw the vending machine was smashed apart. "W-what...the hell..." She glared at Touma the moment she saw him. "You did this you brute of monkey, didn't you?!" Touma was dumbfounded. "No, it wasn't me, I swear!" Kuroko wasn't buying his innocence. "I was going to tell you about sissy and how much she's been down since you disappeared!"
"Sissy..." Lucy wondered in confusion. "If the rest of you guys are accomplices, then I might have to press charges for the property damage!" Natsu, Lucy, Happy, Gray, and Juvia froze with gaping mouths. "Rotten luck," Touma comically pouted with crocodile tears. "So unmanly!" Elfman yelled pulling his hair roughly.
Erza stepped forward. "I'm sorry, that destroyed vending machine was my doing." Kuroko looked at the red-haired woman. "I apologize, I was only trying to Touma get his drink even though his money went in this machine no drink came out. I punched the vending machine too hard, and before I knew it was already too late. If you want to punish someone, punish me, not my friends."
Kuroko blinked a few times and rubbed her head seeing the sincerity in the scarlet woman's eyes. "Oh well..." She sighed seemingly calming down. "Alright, since you told me the truth, I'll let this slide, I'll inform Judgement and have them get someone to replace the vending machine. I won't press charges, not this time anyway." The other wizards were relieved to hear that.
Touma had a question when he heard the word "sissy" meaning she was referring to Misaka. "Shirai, how is Misaka doing?" Kuroko twitched upon hearing the boy using her roommate's name but reluctantly decided to answer his question. "For starters, she was depressed about your disappearance, she wasn't able to eat anything for several days." Touma became worried which Kuroko noticed. "Don't worry, I'll inform Misaka that you're safe and sound. Have a good day." With that, she disappeared surprisingly Fairy Tail.
"She can teleport too," Lucy thought in surprise.
Erza realized that too, but, something was off. "She must have a power like Mest, but, I didn't sense any magic from her."
Gray was suspicious about what Kuroko said. "Hey Touma, what did that girl mean by you disappearing?" Juvia had to admit she was curious as well. "Juvia is curious too, why did that little girl mean?" Touma looked at the wizards giving a few curious stares. "I guess I can tell you what happened." He began to explain the events.
The Earthland wizards were silent after hearing such a war happened. Then again, to them, it sounded just as bad as the war they had against the Alvarez Empire. "That's it, I barely managed to escape after destroying the archangel that nearly destroyed the world."
Erza was impressed that a boy like Touma had the power to nullify other people's abilities.
Natsu smirked. "Hey, do you want to fight me?!" Touma was perplexed at the sudden request. "What?"
Gray unexpectedly shared the fire dragon slayer request. "Same here, I liked to see how powerful this Imagine Breaker of yours is."
Bonk Bonk
"Now isn't the time idiots," Lucy swung her fist at the two knucklehead boys leaving a red lump on their heads.
"That's Natsu and Gray for ya," Everyone froze when Happy spoke out of nowhere and this time Touma was able to hear him. The blue cat froze this time when he realized what he had just done and saw the non-magic user looking at him in disbelief. "Did your cat...just..." He pointed his hand trembling in shock.
"Well, Kamijou, looks like you made some new friends," From a nearby tree Motaharu was leaning against the tree casually and calmly.
Touma froze as he tried to hold back his surprise. "How long have you been standing there?" Motaharu removed his back from the tree and walked toward his classmate. "Not too long, but, I can see the kitty cat has learned to speak."
Natsu took offense to that comment. "Hey pal, the kitty has a name, it's "Happy"!" Despite his outburst, Motoharu didn't flinch at once. "Okay, anyway, I take that you guys aren't from around here." The blonde guy was strange to the earthland wizards and they didn't know what to say at first.
"Excuse me," Erza spoke getting the blonde teenager to look at her. "Don't you think you should introduce yourself first?"
Motoharu chuckled while still having his calm demeanor. "Forgive my manners, my name is Tsuchimikado Motoharu. I'm Touma Kamijou's classmate, we go to the same high school. I was told by Ms. Komoe that we were getting some new students so I decided to check it my new classmates." Touma wasn't falling for this innocent introduction. "What is he up to?"
Motoharu suddenly made eyes at the four girls. "Well, we got some new chicks here. Not surprisingly, Kamijou has a habit of picking up girls." The wizards weren't expecting to hear that. Touma's face flushed as he glared at his classmate. "If you're talking about my harem, it's not true! How many times do I have to tell you don't have that crap!?"
"Harem..." Juvia thought as her face went red.
Lucy was lost for words. Sure, she knew she had a way of attracting boys, but someone proclaiming her to be a part of someone's harem isn't what she ever expected to be in. That wasn't also creeping her out, she met someone who was just as flirtatious as the Blue Pegasus Guild, Loki, Sanji, Brook, Gin(the Wolf Whaleshark Fishman)and Taurus.
Cana didn't seem to mind. "So, you like to pick up girls." She gave a seductive smile at Touma, who was flustered at her forwardness once more. "Well, perhaps you pick me up sometime, darling." Erza's hand grabbed the tarot mage by her wrist and dragged her away. "Enough of that, Cana!"
"No fair!" Cana whined.
Motoharu had a sulking look on his face while slamming his fists on the ground. "Man, why do you always get the hot chicks? It's so not fair!" Touma could almost punch the perverted blonde in the face. "Enough of this crap! Do you have any other business being here?" Quickly, Motaharu calmness returned. "Yes, Ms. Komoe mentioned that you and the others would have a new neighbor."
"A new neighbor?" Lucy questioned curiously.
"Who is it?" Elfman asked.
"Someone that was found by the Tokiwadai Middle School," Motoharu replied. "Also, she'll be joining our class too."
Lucy gasped quietly. "Is he talking about the girl that Wendy mentioned?"
"Anyway, nice talking to you, especially the ladies," Motoharu smirked as his teeth shined shaking Lucy's spine. Erza didn't flinch but she didn't lile flirt attitude that the blonde was giving. Cana wasn't impressed.
With that, the esper magician hybrid left the park.
"Great, another pervert," Elfman groaned.
Touma was thinking about something else. "Tsuchimikado, what are you up to?" He knew he was a pervert but if he knows the guy like he thinks he does, then he knows that his sudden introduction was planned. Basically, he wondered if his classmate followed him secretly.
At Touma's apartment
Anna and Ms. Komoe were having tea while having their conversation. "I see, Touma Kamijou is the kind of boy that helps people regardless of who they are or whether they're strangers." Ms. Komoe took a sip of her tea. "Yes, he helped Index who was in a serious state. Despite his bad grades and his so-called rotten luck, he cares for those that need help regardless if they need his help or not."
Anna giggled impressively. "He sounds like a good student regardless of his grades." Ms. Komoe smiles sweetly at the comment. "I look forward to getting to know your student."
At Anti-Skill headquarters. Aiho and Tsuzuri left to the wizards alone to do their work.
1:30 PM
Primo was checking out one of the computer's old files. "To think such files on Academy City's latest darkest would still be here."
Levy looked at previous reports about the World War 3 incident on four sheets of paper. "According to the news of the war, there were mysterious incidents that happened after the day of the war ended." She turned to the second page. "There were scientist labs that were attacked and some prototypes were stolen."
"Protypes, what does that mean?" Gajeel asked.
"That's the problem, they don't say, guess the public didn't want to say much," Levy guessed. "However, the prototypes had something to do with cyborg tech."
"Cyborg tech, though, that was only rumors that were spread by reporters and journalists that heard stuff," Primo said looking a bit interested. "I wonder..."
Lily was on a small table looking at something. "Once again, I'm surprised that Academy City has such technology," Primo smirked. "Surprising to you since Fairy Tail lacks brains." Gajeel stood up looking pissed. "Are you calling my cat stupid, tin-can?"
Primo didn't even flinch. "The magic council would always complain about your lack of brains." He taunted coldly.
"I might be dumb, but, at least, I wasn't taking a nap while the war was happening unlike you and your pals," Gajeel remarked with a glare. That struck a nerve in Primo. "What was that metal head?"
"That's enough!" Lahara demanded looking serious. "Primo, stop this foolishness, we're here to work together not fight against each other." The Cyborg mage let out a grunt and went back to the computer.
Levy pulled back Gajeel's arm. "She's right, besides, if you start a fight in here, we'll end up wrecking the office. I think the last thing we want is the Anti-Skill having us in cuffs." The iron dragon slayer sighed and reluctantly stood down. "Yes, but, tell that to him, not me."
"Anyway, what do you think of the reports?" Levy asked.
Lahara had her thoughts to share. "This cyborg tech is something that couldn't be real. Though, I heard of your reports of encountering cyborg giants in the world of pirates."
"Yeah, but, according to Franky, most were mindless robots. Kuma wasn't mindless until his personality was erased." Gajeel commented. "Either way, who would want the cyborg prototypes?"
Levy thought for a minute. "Wait, could the people that stole the cyborg tech be the same enemies that kidnapped the two Spriggan Twelve?"
"Why would the enemies that kidnapped the two Spriggan Twelve would steal cyborg prototypes?" Lahara asked.
Levy had a theory. "Think about it, some people in this city know of magic and science but mostly science. Perhaps the enemies use magic to do and they need cyborg technology. Sort like that Machias, a machine that can use magic." Primo chuckled lightly. "I have to admit that's quite a weird theory, but, it does make some sense." The Solid script didn't know whether to take that as a compliment or not.
Lahara put her finger to her chin. "At any rate, we need more details on how to find the enemies. We must keep looking for more information." Primo had a suggestion. "Perhaps this place can." He handed over a sheet of paper. "According to that Aiho woman, she told me of an office called Judgement, they worked with them before and managed to get a genius scientist lady in jail after finding out some sneaky details about her work."
"In that case, Primo, Levy, Gajeel, and Lily, you guys go and pay a visit to the Judgement office now. I'll stay here and look after things." Gajeel and Primo glared at each other. "Boys, enough!" Levy said with her hands on her hips.
"This is going to be a long day." Lily thought with a sweat drop.
Accelerator and Last Order entered the apartment and walked down the hallway. "Aiho isn't here, she must be at work."
"Shame, I was hoping to greet you with a big hug, "Says Misaka Misaka a little disappointed but understanding the lady's work"." Last Order chatted.
Accelator felt something strong within the apartment. "Why do I feel like I'm sensing a power presence here?" He averted his eyes cautiously.
Motoharu has made his approach to the Fairy Tail wizards but only does a short introduction and reveals the new neighbor(who is the dragon girl unknown). They did gather as many details as they could, but, they still need to find out more. As for Fisher Lily and her crew, will they get the chance to meet Touma again? Find out next time.
End of chapter.
