Alright, this one caused me more trouble, than I thought it was going to. I didn't know how I wanted her mates to first contact her, or how to go about it when it seemed like it was truly the first conversation with them. I mean she spoke to Aro, but it was when she was threatening him... this is an entirely different situation. Anyway, I hope I captured everything well.

Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN TWILIGHT! THANK YOU!

'Hello, mia cara.'

Dru was startled when her phone suddenly went off in class, eyes wide as this was in the middle of a test. Her face went from matching her sister's to being bright red, as all of her classmates, including the teacher looked over at her. 'Creepy mind-reader, would it be too much to ask for you to kill me?' The thought formed before she could stop it, as her face went redder than a newborn's eye. Out of the corner of her eye, she could notice her sister's boy-toy trying not to snicker, but her attention was drawn to the teacher. She looked pissed, this was not going to end well for Dru, she just knew it.

"Ms. Swan, you know the rules." The teacher responded, and for a moment the girl wondered if playing dumb would get her out of the situation. Eyes darting around the history room, noting the picture of King Henry VIII. "Ms. Swan," the teacher called her attention once again

"Yes, Mrs. Stevenson?" Dru asked, meeting her eye slowly.

"What are the rules?" The teacher's beady eyes narrowed dangerously, and Dru fidgeted for a moment, under her gaze.

"Don't stick gum under the desk." Dru finally said, though her usual sarcasm was not to be heard. The Newton kid though, still seemed to get a kick out of the girl's response. Snickering as he watched her casually, some of the other student body also seemed to regard her with mild amusement.

Ms. Stevenson's eyes flared darkly, the woman had always been rather bitter, elderly in the sense that she should retire, but was too broke to do so. So, the older woman seemed to like to take it out on her students, Dru being her favorite victim. "Read the message, so everyone can see what was so important that it could not wait until after class."

Dru's irritation seeped from every pore as she sluggishly moved to retrieve her phone from her bag. "It wasn't even on my desk," she grumbled inwardly, her thoughts loud and clear. Her eyes darted to Edward, shooting him a dark glare as he let out a snort he found this funny with the rest of the class. With a deliberate slowness, tapped the screen, her heart almost skipping a beat when she saw who had messaged her. The snickering from her sister's boy toy ceased abruptly, his brows going to his hairline.

It had been less than two days when Carlisle had the phones delivered to Volterra, she had not expected them to reach out to her so soon. Yet, as she stared at the contact a strange tranquil feeling seemed to overtake her, as if she had been holding a breath all this time, and now she was free to let it out.

"Ms. Swan," the teacher's voice cutting off the girl's thoughts, the older woman now right in front of her, "read."

Letting out a soft sigh, Dru shifted her attention back to the phone to open the message. "Hello, mia cara." She whispered, her voice almost tendered as she contemplated the message. However, there was no mistaking the fact the entire class was able to see the usually rambunctious Swan, visibly relax. Displaying the phone to her teacher, so she could see that, that was the only thing the phone read.

Ms Stevenson narrowed her eyes at the girl, eying her up and down in mild annoyance. "It will go on my desk until class is over."

Dru met the teacher's gaze, a spark of defiance entering her gaze; but for once she decided to simply go along with it. Handing her phone over, after she had made sure the sound was now off. "Fine," she muttered, just wanting class to resume as it was. However, even as her teacher moved back to begin teaching once more, the girl was unable to pay attention to the rest of the history lesson...honestly, she had better things to contemplate than listening to the old hag drone on about the six wives of King Henry.

Completely lost in her thoughts, oblivious to the sound of the bell, signaling it was lunchtime. Only moving to pack up her belongings, when she noticed her classmate's movements. Hastily she began to gather her things, knowing she would have to rely on either Edward or Alice for the notes she had missed.

Without sparing much of a glance to Ms. Stevenson, Dru swiftly retrieved her phone from the hag's desk. She walked out of the classroom, glad to leave the stifling atmosphere. Ignoring the persistent calls of her sister, not bothering to go to lunch, instead she walked right off the school property, into the woods, it was not the first time Dru had randomly cut school, certainly wasn't going to be the last. However, she found that she did not want an audience when she replied to the message from earlier.

Her fingers hovered over the keyboard for a moment, contemplating her response to his earlier message. The initial instinct to type a simple "hello" was quickly dismissed, scoffing at the mere idea. It felt way to formal, and Dru was anything but that, and she needed to get them to realize that now, rather than later. She mused to herself, at remembering the picture Carlisle had painted of her mates, it seeming to her that they were a bunch of formal pricks, with sticks up their asses. Sticks, that part of her looked forward to removing.

A mischievous grin began to form, as she saw the similarities between her current dilemma and the cliched plots of countless teenage romances. The irony was not lost on her as she began to chuckle to herself softly, looking around for just a moment, knowing that the guard was somewhere in the trees with her, but unable to see the. She frowned a little at that, before looking back to her phone.

'You got me in trouble, mister.' She finally typed, biting her lip slightly, feeling a little playful as she pressed send. A lingering feeling of anticipation filled her, it was mixed with a little apprehension, as she tried to clear her head. She didn't even know these men, she had spoken to Aro only once, and from what she gathered he was much different than the male she was currently messaging. Dru sighed, waiting for the vampire king who was known for his violent nature to respond to her teasing message.
She didn't have to wait for long, her heart going in her chest.

'Did, I?'-C.V.

'Yes,' she typed, adding a pouty emoji as she did. She giggled at her antics, moving so she could lie on the ground, it was wet from the rain earlier, but she had little care for it. Her eyes glued on her phone, a feeling coming over her as she waited for his message. Briefly, she wondered if this was how Bella felt the first time she met Edward. Was this, the mate bond? Even if she had yet to see them in person? Did it already affect her?

The ding of her phone caught her attention once more, she quickly looked to see A.V. (Hyper), contact pop up. Her eyes widened as she realized two of her mates were now messaging her.

'Mia cara, how has Caius
gotten you in trouble?'-A.V. (Hyper)

She giggled as she read this, biting her lip as the idea of the three reading over their shoulders.. was oddly cute to her. Rolling her eyes, at the mushy feeling that entered her.

'He didn't really, I
had my phone on in class.

Moving a bit, to move her backpack under her head, needing a little cushion. She wondered a bit, how they would react to her cutting class just to speak with them. Honestly, she was surprised at herself, but something made her do it. What? She didn't know.

'Phone on in class?'-C.V.

His response made Dru chuckle, finding it quite amusing. They were so ancient, they probably didn't have to worry about phones in class. Looking up to scan the area, she felt the large smile on her face, but couldn't wipe it even if she tried. Scanning the area for just a moment, she caught a glimpse of Demetri's hair. Playfully, she waved over at him, chuckling as he swiftly disappeared.

'Yes, in class, the teacher was not
amused.'

'Well, mia cara, you should not
your phone in class.'- A.V. (Hyper)

Dru laughed out right at that, 'Yup ancient.' She couldn't help but think of biting her tongue to try and control her amusement.

'Hey, it was in my bag!
I didn't expect a message. *pout*

'Oh?'-C.V.

'Indeed, I was so embarrassed,
had to skip the rest of the day.'

The lack of response that had followed, left a mixed bitter feeling of frustration and uncertainty. Her eyes once again scanning the area around her, the smile on her face began to fade, until she couldn't even force a smirk. The realization that she had skipped the rest of her classes, to message people she did not even know, and yet the thought of messaging them for the first time in the middle of the lunch room, had felt wrong...she felt like she needed privacy, but now she wondered if she had messed up. She joked around about them ancient all the time, but if her memory served her right, they were over 3000 years old. The ways of flirting have probably changed a lot since their days of being human, and that caused a feeling of doubt to fill her.

'Did I offend them?' She wondered, looking at the phone once more, hoping one of them would respond. Thoughts began to swirl through her head as the time continued to tick. Perhaps, they had decided she wasn't the mate they were looking for and had chosen to move on. The mere thought sent a sharp pain of anguish through her heart, causing her to physically act, clutching at her heart with a pained expression on her face.

Later that night, Dru found herself groaning as her father, launched into a lecture. Charlie, for the most part, didn't have to worry about his daughters getting in trouble, well at least he didn't have to worry about Bella (minus the whole Italy incident). However, Dru had a knack for bringing out what Bella referred to as "Dad mode" more frequently than not.

"I cannot believe you." Charlie snapped, his frustration evident in his tone. Dru, having become accustomed to her father's lectures, began to slowly tune him out, knowing full well how the rest of the conversation was going to go. More than likely she was about to be grounded, a week, three at the most.

"Dad, what's the big deal?" She finally huffed, her frustration evident as she attempted to reason with her father. "I'm home and I'm safe," she pointed out.

Charlie's response was swift and stern. "Oh, you are home, but that doesn't mean you are safe," he retorted, his dark eyes piercing as he assessed her. The weight of his gaze caused her to look down, part of Dru knew he was concerned for her well-being. Fuck, he was a cop, the thought of his daughters just running off without any knowledge of what was going on. One daughter did just get back from a three-day adventure from Italy, and well he was still on edge no doubt.

Suddenly, the next thing her father said seemed to cut Dru like a knife, the blade landing heavily on her shoulders. "You know what, I don't want to look at you right now... I am very disappointed in you," he replied, and she winced visibly at that.

Deciding it best to make a hasty retreat, Dru began walking towards the stairs, making a point to avoid her father's gaze. However, right as she was about to begin the climb, her father made his final blow.

"Oh, and your phone is mine for the next three weeks," he declared firmly.

"But, Dad!" Her eyes were wide, as she spun around to face him. The objection flew from her mouth as she did, shaking her head slightly.

"Do you want to make it four?" He asked, watching her closely.

Her heart sank, even further at that. The thought of an additional week, without her phone, he only communicated to her mates, an odd feeling of despair filled her at that. As she looked at him, she wanted to retort, oh she did, but knew better. "No, Dad," she whispered, for once deciding not to argue with him.

Letting out a heavy sigh, Dru reached into her pocket for her phone. Slumping towards her father, defeated, and handed the device to her father. "Can I at least message Alice first? I need the history notes," she pleaded, she knew she could just get them from Edward, who was probably already upstairs in her sister's room, but she didn't want to talk to him right now.

Charlie gave her a stern look, and she knew his answer before he even spoke. "No," he replied firmly, earning another sigh from his daughter. As she began to retreat once more up the stairs he called up, "Oh, and just like Bella, you're grounded." It was as if this part of her punishment was more of an afterthought though.

"I'm grounded." She muttered under her breath, but she knew he heard her.

"Oh, look at you, being smart," she could hear the sarcasm in his voice as she walked towards her room. The words stung a little, adding to the disappointment bubbling through her.

Dru closed her door, as soon as she was clear to do so. "I'm 18." She grumbled to herself, "I am not a child."

"You are younger than me." The unexpected response to her complaint made her jump, nearly causing her to fall off the bed. However, strong arms caught her just in time, preventing any potential injury. She looked up in surprise, meeting a worried red gaze.

"Jesus fucking Christ, Alec!" She hissed, glaring at her unsuspecting savior, "Am I going to have to put a bell on all of you?"

Alec smirked at her at that, while he carefully helped her stand, offering her a bit of reassurance when she was still a little shakey. "You would have to be able to catch us first," he teased, which caused her gaze to soften a bit, she noted the playfulness in his tone.

Amused she watched him for a moment. "Oh trust me, I have my ways," she replied, her voice carrying a hint of mischief. The tension from earlier encounters with her father began to slowly ease up a bit.

"So, the masters got you in trouble did they?" He asked, his voice dripping with amusement.

Dru went a little sheepish at that, chuckling slightly. "Well, let's just say they played a part in it," she admitted, a hint of embarrassment coloring her cheeks. "But I can't solely blame them, I should have made sure my phone was on silent." Shrugging as she took responsibility for her actions.

"And, cutting class?" He mused, "Demetri thought it was hilarious."

Cheeks flushed at that, equally embarrassed and amused, at the mere mention of cutting class. "Well, glad I could offer some entertainment for Demetri." She chuckled, "My father however would not agree."

Alec winced, even as he smirked with amusement. Dru figured that her guard had heard the entire conversation. "Yeah..."

Suddenly, the amusement began to wear off, as Dru thought back to how the conversation with her mates had abruptly ended. "Did I offend them?" She couldn't help but ask, looking away from his gaze.

A cold hand touched her shoulder, which made her look back up instantly. His gaze was soft as he spoke to her. "No, Dru, they were called away to deal with some vampire business." He explained, offering a reassuring smile. "They will message you as soon as they are able."

Dru nodded, "they will have to wait three weeks." She muttered, more to herself, but knew with his excellent hearing he and everyone heard her.

Alec nodded in understanding, his gaze one of empathy. "I know it's frustrating, and I believe Carlisle is going to let them know, why you are absent." He told her, before motioning around her room. "However, I am sure you can find a way to make the days fly by... discover a new hobby, three weeks is a blink."

She knew what he was doing, trying to uplift her spirits, nodding at his words, before her gaze moved over to her television and movie collection. "Want to watch a movie with me?"

His red eyes brightened, as he nodded. "Sure, that sounds like a great idea."

"Ironman?"

Alec nodded, although he had no idea what that was. The guard was just glad, she was starting to go back to normal, Demetri had brought up how she seemed quieter than normal, then when she was punished. Alec had noticed how her father's words affected her, and he was happy to be able a shoulder for his new queen.

Alright, well how do you all feel about some questions? I like reading the theories my lovely readers come up with.

1) How are Aro, Marcus, and Caius going to feel about their mate being grounded?

2) So now that we have Alec and her bonding (Felix will continue being her favorite), who is next Demetri or Jane in your opinion?

Thank you all,

Nature Faustus
